Sonic the Hedgehog, Amy Rose, Cream the Rabbit and Vector the Crocodile were about to begin a game of the Monopoly-like game Fortune Street, and they were playing on the Robbin' Hood Ruins board.
Sonic had his arms folded in front of his chest and a bored expression on his face. "Why did I agree to play this game with you guys...?" The cobalt blue hedgehog asked Amy, Cream and Vector in a bored tone of voice.
Amy giggled a little bit. "Because you had agreed to spend more time with your friends after the adventures you had in the Starfall Islands, silly!" The pink hedgehog beamed.
Cream smiled and nodded in agreement. "She's right, Mr. Sonic! Mama always taught me to hold on to your side of an agreement, because it's impolite to back out of an agreement!" Cream told Sonic, with her pet Chao, Cheese humming his agreement.
"Cha-Chao!" Cheese exclaimed.
Vector laughed heartily. "Yeah! And besides, look on the bright side; You might earn a little bit of money you could spend on your friends from playing this game as well!" The green crocodile gave his thoughts on the matter.
Sonic sighed at this. "I suppose you guys do have a fair point...Alright, let's play this game then..." The cobalt blue hedgehog concluded as the four of them began to determine the order of play using slot machines. The order of play was then decided, with Vector going first, Cream going second, Sonic going third and Amy going last. The four Mobians were then beamed away to the playing board.
"Alright, let's make some money!" Vector beamed as he rolled the dice, moved across the board and landed on an empty shop before proceeding to buy it. "Ha, ha! I'm proud to announce the first Robbin' Hood Ruins branch of the Chaotix Detective Agency!" The green crocodile beamed.
"My turn!" Cream beamed as she rolled the dice, made her way over the board and like Vector, proceeded to land on an empty shop which she bought. "Yay, I get to play shopkeeper! Isn't this fun, Cheese?" The orange rabbit asked her pet Chao, with Cheese happily singing a song in agreement.
"Chao, chao, chao, chao, chao!" Cheese happily sang.
"Alright, my turn!" Sonic grinned as he Homing Attacked the dice to roll it, before quickly running across the board to get to the space he needed to go to, then bought an empty shop. "Heh, heh. I'll reckon I can turn this to my advantage..." The cobalt blue hedgehog rubbed his hands with glee.
"Never fear, Amy Rose is here!" Amy beamed as she rolled the dice, then made her way towards a vacant plot and bought it, building a tax office. "Sorry, guys, but a tax office is just what I need to stay one step ahead of you guys." The pink hedgehog giggled sheepishly.
"Don't count on me landing there." Vector laughed in a teasing manner.
"I sure hope we won't be landing on Miss Amy's tax office, Cheese..." Cream looked worried, with Cheese humming his agreement.
"No sweat, Ames. No tax office is gonna bring me down." Sonic grinned as he cockily rubbed his index finger under his nose.
