A very eventful day
This story is basically told in third person and will only change when we have to switch to a more important moment in the story so keep this in mind.
In a helicopter flying at 100 mph over a bright blue ocean multiple young teenagers could be seen looking out the window admiring the beautiful blue ocean...Well a few were napping while one specific teenager was clutching his backpack tightly with a nervous look all alone.
'Who did this happen?' The teenager thought as they started to open their backpack and look at the objects inside.
After opening it he saw two decks. One was in a attachable black and blue mix that looked like a galaxy swirl. The other was in a crimson red attachable that had a red dragon roaring into the heaven's.
The teenager opened the black and blue attachable saw a few very familiar cards that didn't belong in this world. 'How did my vanguard cards turn into yugioh cards?' They questioned as they looked through them.'Blaster Blade,Blaster Dark and even my Majesty Lord Blaster is hear.' This person thought as he heard the pilot of the helicopter speak through the intercoms and announced our near arrival to the island.
Looking out the window they and the other students saw the school that they would be living at for the next three years.
After seeing the school from a distance they smiled and thought that maybe this was a blessing indesguise.
'I take it back this feels and sounds like the 1960 based on how the guys in blue are ridiculing the yellows' and reds' that just got their uniforms.' They thought before they heard their name get called. After going to the front desk they spoke with the person and got their uniforms and student ID.
"Thank you very much ma'am." They said in a greatful tone.
Hearing his genuine tone the receptionist gave them a smile "No problem mister Lugh." She replied with a smile before calling for the next student.
Going to the changing room Lugh changed into his uniform and stood infront of a mirror to look at his reflection.
In the mirror stood a 5'8 teenager clad in a red uniform over a black undershirt and blue jeans in a pair of black boots. The structure of the body was that of a Olympic gold medalist swimmer. And finally the appearance he had was above average but could push handsome if well maintained. He had Silver hair that was just long enough to move over and a red eye on his right and a blue eye on his left.
'Great those guys are just going to play school yard bully unless I retaliate against them.' Lugh thought with a sigh before placing the clothes he entered with into a basked that was going to be picked up by a laundry worker before being sent to his dorm room.
Looking back at the mirror Lugh looked at his reflection one last time before picking up his backpack and walked out into the school yard and was immediately insulted.
"See these dorks just keep on showing up one after the other with this one looking like a freak with the way his eyes are different." A snarky voiced called out from near the entrance in a arrogant manner.
Looking at the direction the voice came from he saw a black spiky haired guy in the blue uniform insult him. Not bothered by this Lugh rolled his eyes before walking away.
"Hey did you just ignore me!" The black spiky haired guy yelled as Lugh walked away from him and saw a spot under a tree that no one was using.
Sitting down Lugh observed his classmates and picked out the ones that looked like they would pose a problem to his chances in the school.
'I've never played Yu-Gi-Oh nor watch the anime...but I'm confident that I could reach the podium if I just observe how they play and the cards they use.' He thought watching the others interact. (Note the OC in this story has never played the game or watched the show,but he has heard of it from his friends, and just played Vanguard before he was Isekaied.)
After looking at his classmates he quickly identified the ones he though would give him a hard time. Their was a brunette haired guy that radiates positive energy, funnily enough considering we were in the same classification, who claimed that he was going to be the next king of games. A dark blue haired girl that was looking around like a predator waiting to pounce on a opertunity. Another blue haired girl ,who had a much lighter shade of blue, who was leaning onto a tree from the other side of the yard also looking at their classmates with they're gaze meeting every so often.
Taking out the custom phone the school gave us he saw it was just half past three. Get up he saw the light blue haired girl had moved away and was nowhere to be seen. Shrugging Lugh decided to walk around the outskirts of the school before checking the phone he had (Later finding out it was called a PDA that gave all kinds of rewards for winning duels.).
Looking at the time he saw that it was time to head to his dormitories welcoming dinner.
"That was the most depressing meal I've ever had the displeasure to be a part of." Lugh said as he laid down in his bed being very fortunate to have won a lottery the dorm master made for a way to brighten up the mood at the end of the day for a lucky student to get a single dorm room all to themselves.
"Hopefully nothing bad happens this year." Lugh said before going to sleep not knowing what kinds of trouble he would be a part of.
Next Day
After waking up Lugh went to the bathroom to freshen up before headed to the dorm cafeteria.
Apon arriving he saw that what was being served was fish and miso soup with a small bowl of white rice.
'Great the one thing I can't eat is being served for breakfast.' He thought before sitting at a corner in the back.
Picking up his miso soup he drinked some of it before eating some rice. While he was doing this our favorite Slifer red Hero user saw him on his own and talked to his roommates about sitting down with him.
After a short talk they approached Lugh "Hey is it fine if we sit here with you?" A optimistic voice called out. Turning Lugh saw the brunette he saw yesterday ,a baby blue haired guy in glasses that looked nervous, and a robust black haired guy that was looking at his uneaten fish.
"Sure I don't mind." Lugh replied with a smile as they sat at the same table as him.
"Sweet thanks man I'm Jaden Yuki." Jaden said pointing a thumb at himself before pointing at the blue haired guy "This is Syrus." he said before pointing at the robust guy who was eating his food like his life depends on it "And this is Chumly.".
After they introduced themselves Lugh gave them a smile before introducing himself "My name is Lugh Frau I'm from Eastern France but lived most of my life in Germany before I got accepted into the school." He said before finishing his rice and miso soup.
Looking at his uneaten fish Chumly asked if he was going to eat his fish. Seeing this Lugh responded "No I'm allergic to a lot of foods with fish being one of them." He said before Chumly took his fish and ate it. After he said this Syrus asked what foods he's allergic to.
Hearing his question Lugh listed off what he was allergic to "I can't eat cheese because it makes my stomach churn...I can't eat bread because my body has a reaction to yeast that makes me throw up...I'm allergic to cats even though I love them...Finally I can't eat any kind of nuts." After he said this Jaden,Syrus, and Chumly looked at Lugh with sadness "Damn man you can't eat the good things in life." Chumly said finishing the fish he took from Lugh.
Giving them a smile he got up "It's not too bad." He said taking his plate. Seeing him leave Jaden asked where he was going. Looking back Lugh said he was going to look around the school ,after getting his deck, before classes start.
Thirty Minutes Later
After arriving to the school with his deck Lugh started looking around and saw three Obelisk Blue students talking before they noticed him.
"Hey Slifer Slacker what are you looking at!" One of the Obelisk students yelled at him. Rolling his eye's Lugh began to walk away until the same student yelled at him again "Hey I'm talking to you so you better answer back to your betterer!" After he said this Lugh sighed before turning around and confronted the student who was picking a fight.
"Listen I don't want the first thing I do here is embarrass a fellow student so let's just be done with this and go our separate ways." Lugh said in a blunt manner further angering the Obelisk student.
"That's it I'll show you to respect your betterer here and know in a Duel!" He said as one of his "friends" gave him a Duel Disk and a deck before activating it by putting in the deck slot.
Staring at the student Lugh sighed before stating an obvious flaw in his challenge "I'd love yo shut you up...but I don't have a Duel Disk." He responded before a voice called out from behind him.
"Take mine." A voice filled with curiosity said behind him. Looking to the person who spoke he saw a dusty blone haired girl with a dark blue haired guy who had a serious demeanor around him hand him a Duel Disk. But the most notable thing about them was that they both wore the Obelisk Blue uniform.
"Are you sure about this?" He asked as the blond gave him the Duel Disk. "Yeah a Duel in front of the Academy with a small crowd forming sounds like a good way to start the school year." She said while thinking this would be a good way to see how good Lugh is and to see what deck he uses.
Looking at her for a moment he sighed before taking the Duel Disk and inserted the Deck with Blaster Blade and Blaster Dark in from the attachment he placed on his right side and turned to the student who looked like he was even madder than before.
"Alright let's get this over with." Lugh said stretching and cracking his back before adopting a more serious look while more students showed up.

Lugh: 4000 Life Points
Obelisk Student: 4000 Life Points
"I'll go first!" The Obelisk student said drawing a card.
"I summon Vorse Raider in attack mode and end my turn!" The Obelisk student said as his monster was summoned.
Vorse Raider 1900/1200 Level 4/Dark/Beast-Warrior/Normal: This wicked Beast-Warrior does every horrid thing imaginable, and loves it! His axe bears the marks of his countless victims.
'Idiot not setting a trap card.' Lugh thought as he drew a card.
Looking at the cards he had in his hand he nodded before starting his turn.
"I activate the spell card Foolish Burial to sent a card from my deck to my graveyard!" Lugh said sending a monster to the grave.
"What a idiot sending a monster from your deck to the graveyard!" A Obelisk student in the crowd said as more students started to show up.
"Yeah has he ever played the game before." Another Obelisk student said this time in a feminine voice.
Not bothered by this Lugh gave a smile before it turned into a dark grin.
"I summon Darkness Maiden, Macha in Attack mode." Lugh said as he summoned his monster.
Darkness Maiden, Macha 1300/800 Level 3/Dark/Psychic/Effect:When Summoned you can Special Summon a monster from your graveyard with less than 1500 Attack Points.
After Macha was summoned a few male students whistled.
"Ha your monster is still weaker than my Vorse Raider!" Lugh's opponent said mockingly.
Sighing Lugh looked at the Obelisk student with a bored expression "While she may not have a lot of Attack Points her Effect more than make up for it." He said as Macha started to extend her right hand as a circle opened up and a figure jumped out as everyone winced as they heard a sharp crack.
After recovering from the sharp crack they saw a red haired woman in a uniform sporting a grin while holding a whip.
High Dog Breeder, Akane 1500/1200 Level 3/Light/Warrior/Effect:When she is Summoned add a Spell/Trap card that mentions Paladins.
After seeing her a lot more hot blooded guy wolf whistled while some of the girls looked at her in amazement.
"When High Dog Breeder, Akane is summoned I can add a Spell or Trap that mentions the word Paladins to my hand." Lugh said as he add a card before grinning.
Seeing his grin the Obelisk student started to feel unnerved and worried.
"Now I play the Spell card When Light and Dark Paladins Intersects to Fusion Summon The King of the Royal Paladins Alfred in Attack mode!" Lugh said as more and more students in the school showed up and watch his Duel.
The King of the Royal Paladins Alfred 2000/2000 Level 8/Light/Warrior/Fusion/Effect: When Summoned You can Special Summoned up to three Royal Paladins from your deck. During the Battle Phase he gains 300 Attack Points for every monster on your field.
After activating his Spell card High Dog Breeder, Akane and two cards from his hand were shined purple before they shot into his graveyard in the Duel Disk.
"Bear witness to the King of Paladins as he rides into battle! Charge into battle with your trusted steed The King of the Royal Paladins Alfred!" Lugh chanted as a bright light appeared in the middle of his field.
Clad in white armor while sitting on a blue steed with fire as it's mane a mature look knight yelled as he stood infront of Vorse Raider.
"And thanks to Alfred's Effect I can summon three cards from my deck onto the field!" Lugh said as three balls of light decided and out came another High Dog Breeder, Akane and a pair of Blaster Blade.
High Dog Breeder, Akane 1500/1200
Blaster Blade x2 1900/1500
(I'm to lazy to add the Effects so let's just finish the Duel.)
After they appeared Akane grinned while snapped her whip while the two Blaster Blades stood on both sides of Alfred.
"This is over Blaster Blade on the left destroy Vorse Raider."
After hearing his command Blaster Blade charged in and destroyed both Vorse Raider and himself.
"Know Akane attack him directly." Lugh said as Akane smirked before snapped her whip and jumped into the air and delivered a nasty whip that made the know students who came to see the Duel wince.
Lugh: 4000
Obelisk Blue Student: 2500
"Macha hit him directly."
Hearing her orders Macha extended her right hand and shot him with a dark wave of lightning.
Lugh: 4000
Obelisk Blue Student: 1700
"Alfred end the Duel!" Lugh said as Alfred nodded and charged.
Seeing this happen Lugh gave a grin and add some insult to injury "When Alfred Attacks he gains 300 Attack Points for every Paladin on the field making his total Attack Points 2900."
Gaining more power Alfred swung his blade and ended the Duel as he and the rest of Lugh's monster's faded away.
"Haaa" Breathing a sigh of relief Lugh took out his cards from the graveyard and deck holder from the Duel Disk and handed it to the dusty blond before thanking her and walked into the school to find his classroom.
After Lugh left the school yard the crowd slowly moved along talking about the Duel or more specifically the cards he used.
"Did you see those cards' the looked so cool!" A Slifer Red student said to their friends.
"I know ,but did you see that red headed monster that used that whip she looked beautiful." One of his friends said as the others nodded in agreement.
Not far from them a group of girls were discussing who cool Lugh looked while playing the game.
"He looked so dreamy when the wind blew his hair when he summoned that card that rode on a horse." A Ra Yellow school girl said with a dreamy expression.
"How about when he spoke in a bored manner like this Duel was a waste of his time." A Slifer Red girl said as they started talking about how he talked and how his body looked while Dueling.
And finally we see the Obelisk students talking about how one of their own lost to a Slifer Red.
"How could you lose to a Slifer!" One of the Obelisk students yelled at their utterly crushed dorm mates.
"Yeah and not just that how come he had some cards we haven't ever heard of!" A annoyed voice called out as they were seething with jealousy that a Slifer had some rare cards they had never heard of.
Near the entrance to the school the dusty blone girl looked at the direction of where Lugh had entered before looking at her friend.
"Looks like you have some very serious competition this year Zane." She said with a playful tone.
Saying nothing Zane looked at the entrance and remembered how the Duel ended.
"Maybe I'll finally get a decent challenge for the top spot Alexis." Zane said before walking into the school leaving behind his companion.
Looking at the back of the know disappearing Kaiser Alexis sighed before entering the school thinking that the school has some very interesting students.
"Well it looks like Dueling for the top 10 of the school will be very difficult this year." She said walking into the building remembering all the applications that Dueled their way into the school while she and the other Obelisk Blue students had guaranteed entry thanks to being in Duel school prep.

I'll be skipping some of the non important cannon events in season 1.
Things for the OC to do as he will be facing some of the shadow riders as a Key Guardian later while current cannon events unfold.
Duel Zane infront of Jaden,Syrus,Chumly,Rio, and Alexis.
Duel Chazz for a promotion to Obelisk since during the whole current cannon event happen without him interfering he'll be Dueling/Destroying Obelisk Blue students for DP since that is the only currency in Duel Academy.
Duel Bastion and Jaden in a triple threat Duel where it's a free for all and the winner represents the school with a new renovated Paladin Deck.
Duel Chazz in a worldwide broadcast with his Paladins and get offers from different companies as sponsorships after seeing him Duel with monsters that no one has seen.
After these happen is when Lugh Duels the Shadow Riders as a Key Guardian.
this is it cannon wise for the ground work of the story but these are the only things I remember from the anime.
