Heat stroke
Todoroki would never admit it, the thought itself being too embarrassing as to even think about it, but he has always liked to watch Momo.
Not in a creepy way, obviously, but in a way that something about watching her always manages to bring a feeling of peace within him.
He always enjoys watching the way she learns new things on her own to be able to evolve with her quirk, how smart she can be trying to come up with the most unthinkable but efficient ideas to their training fights... But especially, he always enjoys watching the adorable frown and pout adorning her perfect features whenever she's thinking on how to solve a problem or the beaming smile illuminating her eyes, before her sweet laugh fills the room…
That's why when Todoroki sees Momo staggering as if she was dizzy before placing a hand a bit too tightly on the back of one of the couches in the common room for support, he immediately knows there's something wrong with her.
At first he thinks she's probably tired after spending long days studying to ace their most recent exams, or maybe she overworked herself trying to improve her quirk, but the flushed and tired expression on her face, her half-lidded eyes and rapid breathing as well as the light trembling of her body tells him otherwise.
So he can't help but rise from his place at the table across the common room to walk towards her, fastening his pace as he observes Momo's hold on the couch wavering and almost making her fall. Thankfully, Todoroki manages to get in time to catch her in his arms before Momo can fall and touch the floor.
- Are you okay?
Todoroki asks Momo concerned while holding her tightly against his chest, feeling the girl in his arms trembling lightly yet nodding.
- Yes, don't worry, Shouto.
She says slowly, but even though Momo tries to pull away to give him the best reassuring smile she can muster, Todoroki can see the still flushed and tired expression on her face, observing the way her lips tremble ever so slightly as she pants, making his concern increase.
- Are you sure?
He asks once he places his hands on her arms to steady her, noticing then what is truly wrong with her as he feels the hot touch of her skin almost burning him.
Todoroki can only frown deeply, touching her forehead and then her cheeks, noticing Momo's high body temperature, before he notices her leaning in the touch of his cold hand, placing her own hand over his as a soft smile and relieved expression paints her features.
It's then when everything seems to finally click for Todoroki, a soft smile spreading across his lips as he increases his coldness, pulling the girl with him to the couch so he can wrap her in his arms and keep her cold, downing her body temperature like that.
A soft sigh escapes Momo's lips as she leans more into his cold side, her body slowly stopping trembling against him as she slowly opens her beautiful dark eyes to look at him with a bashful smile on her lips and an adorable blush dusting her cheeks that could easily be mistaken with the previous redness tinting her face.
- I'm sorry Shouto, this is embarrassing.
Momo whispers coyly yet snuggling more into him in seek of his coldness, making Todoroki smile and almost melt at how cute his girlfriend can be.
- Don't worry, Momo. It's a natural reaction of the body with such high temperatures.
He tells her reassuringly, understanding perfectly how even though he knows how the girl in his arms takes good care of herself and drinks enough water, the human body still suffers the effect of being under more than 40ºC (104ºF) in the middle of the heat of the summer, hoping his coldness can help Momo to feel better and recover from her heat stroke.
- Are you feeling better though? – he asks her worryingly, seeing Momo smiling softly as she nods.
- Yes. Thank you, Shouto.
She thanks him, making his heart flutter and almost melt once again at such cuteness, before he wraps her tighter in his coldness, doing a small trick of heating up the ice he just formed in a glass to then cool it a bit later so Momo can drink some cold water to recover better.
This scene doesn't go unnoticed by some of their classmates, eyeing the couple and especially the creating heroine envyingly as they would also like to spend some time with the half-cold boy if that means being cold in such a torrid day.
