I also have a slight mental disability so please excuse any mistakes. I do the best I can with writing these stories and trying to post chapters. Also, I am a very sick person so there will be periods where I don't update. But ALL my stories will be updated eventually.
Also, when I come up with a story idea, I can't stop myself from writing it down and posting it. I literally can't sleep to I have written it down. So that is why there are so many stories.
At the moment I am having problems with my brain chemistry and it is hard to write for my older stories even through I know where they are going. So please, please hang on in there. I haven't abandoned ANY of my stories. But with my brain chemistry problem and my Mum's deteriorating health everything has been crazy.
Happy 31st Birthday too me! Also, Happy 57th Birthday to my Dad!
Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Return
Treville sighs as he looked at his mountain of paperwork. He hadn't been able to concentre all day. His gut was telling him something was going to happen. But he didn't know if it was bad or good. These last 9 months had been nothing but heartache for his Regiment and in particular his Inseparables who had lost their young Brother. With no clues on what happened to him they hadn't been able to get closer. He knew they held out hope D'Artagnan was alive. They said something in them was telling them he was still alive.
But after nine months with no word how could that be possible?
Surely the Gascon would have sent word by now that he was alive. Treville knew that boy would never let his Brothers think that of him after everything they had been through. D'Artagnan would never do that to them.
So how could the Lad not be dead?
Treville shuttered to think of the possibility that D'Artagnan was alive somewhere and wasn't able to get back to them on his own. That he had had been captured all these months and somehow was still alive.
But Treville had given the Inseparables the freedom to look into any clues of their missing member. But soon Treville knew he would have to convince them that after nine months with no sign of life that D'Artagnan was lost to them.
He had sent them on a mission and told them they could have 3 weeks break afterwards. He didn't tell them that, that time would be the last he would give them for their search for D'Artagnan. Treville just wanted to know he did everything he could to get the Boy home to them.
Suddenly he was broken out of his thoughts by a commotion coming from the gates.
He goes to get up when Sebastian barges in.
"What is it?" Treville asks him.
"Sir you're not going to believe this! You need to come to the gates! The impossible has happened! And you might what to call a Doctor! Oh, and send word the into the Inseparables!" Sebastian says in a hurry.
All that was said in a rush that Treville didn't really take in the words as he strode out of his office and onto the balcony.
Where he saw all his Musketeers convening on the figure in the archway. The figure was ragged and dirty. The figure even Treville could see was painfully slim. On a black horse. His hat covering his face. His weapons were visible but not drawn.
Before Treville could call out the figure looks up at him seeming to sense his presence and Treville felt his heart stop as he took in the lone, tired figure of D'Artagnan.
"Impossible", Treville whispers.
"Told you Sir. Henri sent me to get you", Sebastian says softly.
Treville watches D'Artagnan nudge his horse forward and everyone who had gathered had gone quiet as they watched the young man that everyone, but the Inseparables, had believed dead ride into the Garrison with his head held high.
Even with all the Garrison whispering his name in disbelief and worry. But D'Artagnan seemed to be taking it in his stride.
The Captain moves to go down the stairs as D'Artagnan stops in the middle of the gathering of Musketeers.
"Sir", D'Artagnan says softly bowing his head.
"D'Artagnan? Is that you? You're alive?" Treville asks coming forward.
D'Artagnan gives him a wearily smile, "I believe I'm VERY alive Sir. I was nearly dead several times. But I hope I am alive after everything I have been through to get here. And the pain I am feeling sure shows I'm alive. And yes, it is me. Charles D'Artagnan of Lupiac in Gascony. Little Brother to Athos, Porthos and Aramis. And I apologies for my late return but there was extenuating circumstances and several events that were out of my control"
"How?" Treville asks.
D'Artagnan looks around and Treville could see the young Gascon was skittish. Treville's eyes soften as he looked at D'Artagnan proper. And Treville was deeply concerned by what he saw.
The Gascon moves awkwardly to get off his horse. Treville could tell the saddle was different to others of its kind and he didn't know why. Treville saw D'Artagnan's right leg trembling as he lifted it over and saw D'Artagnan wince/flinch in pain.
As both his legs hit the ground Treville saw the signs of them buckling. Treville leaped forward and caught the Gascon before he could fall and hurt himself badly. Treville was proud to see that another dozen Musketeers had moved to help with him. But the Captain had got there first.
"Sebastian send for Gasper AND Etienne! I believe D'Artagnan needs to see the Physician immediately", Treville orders holding the shaking Gascon up.
"I'm ok Captain. No new injuries just old ones that continue to plague me", D'Artagnan tells him shakily.
He had expected his leg to give out. As he had been riding so much. He was going to hold onto his horse and get his stick. But his leg had given out quicker than he thought and the pain radiating through it wasn't getting any better.
"Infirmary. Now", Treville orders.
To Treville's surprise D'Artagnan doesn't argue but nods.
"I will go for your peace of mind. But we WILL need me bags", D'Artagnan nods to the bags that were slung over his horse, "And where are my Brothers?"
Treville shouldn't have been surprised D'Artagnan asked about his Brothers and Treville could see D'Artagnan looking for them.
"Easy Son. They are on a mission and they are probably looking for you too. They have never gave up hope. I believe I owe them AND you an apology. But first I'm taking you to the Infirmary. Henri get D'Artagnan's bags. Jacques, please see to D'Artagnan's horse. Serge have some food bought to the Infirmary the Lad looks have starved! Damion go to one of the Inseparables room for some clothes for him! We will need hot water…" Treville orders giving the Musketeers gathered a few more things to do, "Are you alright now to stand on your own?" he asks turning back to D'Artagnan.
D'Artagnan bites his lip. Over the last few months his carers had basically got into his head the idea of telling the truth. And he actually couldn't see him breaking that now.
"Maybe not Sir", D'Artagnan says surprising him, "But if someone could pass me my cane you won't need to take all my weight"
He nods to the side of his saddle.
Henri reaches it and pulls out a red oak cane. That was beautifully designed and seemed to have been carefully made.
D'Artagnan reaches out and takes it and leans heavily on it.
"I'm ready Sir. But be warned Sir when I tell you my story you won't like it one bit. But I also have a few things you'll need. Including a few letters from the people have helped me over the last few months. I believe you'll find them enlightening"
