Chapter One
Since Diana was starving and it was still early in the evening, Diana pulled into the only restaurant in this small town: the Mystic Grill.
"How original," she muttered to herself as she got out of her car. She checked her pockets to make sure her phone, wallet, keys, and knife were secure before heading inside. Once inside she found herself assaulted with the sounds of the other customers and staff. Seeing that there were a few bar stools open at the bar, Diana headed right for it.
She needed a drink. Diana sat in the middle stool, leaving one on each side of her open and in between the others sat at the bar. On one side, were two guys one with dirty blonde hair and green eyes, the other with black hair and blue eyes. The two of them would occasionally glare at the four guys on her other side.
Three of the other guys had brown hair and brown eyes – which is where the similarities ended. One wore a three-piece suit, another wore nice shirt and slacks, and the last wore a band shirt under a leather jacket with a pair of jeans. Then the last in the quartet had blonde hair, blue eyes with a Henley and jeans.
Two of them – the blonde and the band shirt guy – would return the glares. Diana sighed softly to herself. She hoped she didn't accidentally put herself in between a bar fight.
Finally, the bartender made his way to her. He had blonde hair and blue eyes, and he also was sending daggers at the quartet.
"Hello, I don't believe I've seen you around here before," the bartender said, bringing the seven guys' gazes smack dab on her. Diana raised an eyebrow.
"Is that small town for 'hi, what can I get for you'?" she asked. He flushed and Diana could hear small sounds of amusement from either side of her.
"Hi, what can I get for you?" the bartender asked with a fake smile.
"Oh! Hello, thank you for asking. I need a menu and a beer, I don't care what kind as long as its in a bottle," Diana said, taking the menu the man handed her. He moved further down the bar to hopefully bring her back her drink, but Diana was now absorbed in browsing the menu, looking for something to eat.
She heard him come back quickly. Diana glanced up at him, "So, Matt," she said, having read his name tag. "What do you recommend here?"
"Uh, the burgers are really good," he said.
Diana shook her head as she turned attention back to the menu, her eyes now drawn to an item. "No thanks on that. I'll take the chicken tenders with French fries, as well as a piece of apple pie with ice cream afterwards." She slid the menu back to him and grabbed her beer, leaning back in her seat. Matt nodded once before disappearing to go place her order.
I hope it doesn't take too long, Diana thought as she took a long drink of her beer, setting it down and pulling out her phone. She saw out of the corner of her eye the raven-haired man leaning over to her.
"So what brings you to Mystic Falls?" He asked. Diana sighed and looked over at him and his companion, both watching her.
"Is there a problem with strangers here? First the bartender with poor customer service and now you, the mysterious stranger who obviously has issues with others," Diana drawled. She saw the dirty blonde smirk at her words but look down at his drink quickly and she heard the guys on the other side let out their own sounds of amusement.
"Why are you avoiding the question?"
"Why do you need to know, bud?" Diana was not intimidated by this guy what so ever. She even smirked in amusement as he tried to make her answer with his narrowed eyes.
Luckily, her food came just then. Diana took another drink and waved it at Matt.
"Can you get me another, please?" He did so quickly before he left her in peace.
"Seriously, what are you doing here?" Diana couldn't help her groan.
"Look, dude. I am trying to eat my food and drink my beer in peace. I can assure you, I have no interest in staying in this boring *ss town longer than a day or two. So why don't you butt out of my business and leave me be," Diana growled out. This guy was seriously getting her pissed off, and that wasn't easy! The archangels were more annoying and aggravating than this guy but yet he was getting on her nerves so fast. She had quickly got a bad feeling from both the raven haired man and the dirty blonde.
The dirty blonde leaned over his companion. "Look, I'm sorry. We've got off on the wrong foot. I'm Stefan, and this is my brother, Damon."
Diana looked between the two. "Brothers? Huh, never would've thought that." She jerked her thumb at the four beside her. "Those four seem more like brothers than the two of you." She took a bite of her food.
One of them, the one that had been seated closest to her, the band t-shirt guy leaned over this time.
"And how could you know that, darlin'?" Diana took her last bite of her chicken tenders and looked over at them. All four were looking at her and now Diana ignored the two brothers.
If she had the choice, she would be going home with one of these fine gents. Especially if all of them had an accent.
"Oh, British? What brings y'all to this rude *ss town?"
He reached over, picked up her hand, and kissed the back of it, looking up at her through his lashes. "I'm Kol Mikaelson, these are my brothers: Klaus, Elijah, and Finn… and whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?" Diana grinned.
"Oh, you are definitely a charmer. Tell me, Kol, which of your older brothers did you learn that from?" The two other brown haired men grinned as the blonde let out a laugh. Kol scowled slightly but smiled at her quick wit.
"I like you, darlin', that was very witty of you."
"Thank you, I try… but my name is-" Diana was cut off by someone beginning to speak behind her. This one a British voice that Diana immediately groaned.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the little wolf all by her lonesome."
Diana spun around and eyed the familiar man. "Hello, Crowley."
He smirked. "Hello, wolfie."
