Chapter Five

Flashback to a month after meeting Lucifer

Diana returned to her brothers with a lot on her mind. Her brothers could tell, as could Castiel whenever he was around.

Cas didn't seem to sense anything different about her, so hopefully that was the sign that there wasn't something wrong with her.

The Winchesters were driving to their next case when Castiel flashed into the Impala, scaring them as usual.

"CAS! How many times have we told you not to do that?" Dean scolded as they screeched to a stop on the side of the road.

"Uh…" Castiel looked over at Diana as if she would help but she was still getting her heart under control. "Sorry."

"What brings you here, Cas?" Sam asked as Dean and Sam turned in around in the front seat to face the two of them.

"Nothing brings me here. I just wanted to check in with you all." Cas' eyes darted to her and it took everything in her not to roll her own. This had become more frequent too: Cas flashing in randomly to check in on her.

They were lucky that she was too exhausted mentally to snap on them. She usually had no patience for their overprotectiveness towards her.

Diana raised an eyebrow at Cas. "Really, Cas, what are you-"

Diana disappeared in a flash, causing all three to begin to panic.

When she blinked, she was standing in a warehouse facing Lucifer, Gabriel, and another male. "-doing?" She couldn't stop the words that had been about to come out of her mouth as she continued to blink at the two archangels and the unknown.

"What the h*ll?! Do you not realize that I was with my brothers and Cas?! They are going to be freaking out right now!" She snapped at her two 'guardian' angels.

Gabriel sighed and stepped forward, placing a hand on her wrist right over his mark which not only made the tingles shoot through her body but also took her anger away.

"I'm sorry, little Dee, but it couldn't be avoided. Our brother only agreed to the examination for a short amount of time. We didn't have time to be discreet about it."

Diana rolled her eyes, still irritated but no longer angry.

She turned her eyes onto Raphael and Lucifer as they came closer.

"So? Any theories?" She prompted as the archangel walked around her, examining her as Gabriel and Lucifer stood close by.

Raphael came to stand in front of her and opened his mouth to speak… just as she felt a slightly familiar burning on her rib cage. "Ow! What the f*ck!"

Diana pulled up her shirt to just under her bra and there sitting on her right side was a pair of blue and white wings that had five layers in a resting, downward position.

Raphael, Lucifer, and Gabriel stepped towards her as they looked at her new mark.

"What is happening? I'm assuming I'm your charge now too, huh?" Diana asked Raphael as he looked at her stupefied.

He inclined his head. "You are… I've never heard of a situation like this before, and I'm considered the expert in this matter." He began to pace as Lucifer began to brood and Gabriel pulled out a sucker.

Gabriel huffed as if amused as Diana pulled her shirt back down as he was lost in his thoughts.

"What are you thinking, Gabriel?" Diana asked, drawing the attention of the other two to the younger archangel.

"What are the odds that Michael isn't another guardian for you?" Realization began to dawn on everyone.

"You believe that this is Father's Plan B. Having us all tied to the one mortal whom would be one of the most effected of the Apocalypse," Raphael said.

"That wouldn't explain her getting our wings tattooed on her and obtaining a small amount of our Grace," Lucifer pointed out.

"Well looks like we now have two things to do… well, three things." Diana said, causing them all to turn to her.

"And those are?" Raphael asked.

"One) you all take me back to my brothers and tell them what is going on because this is all a little out of my range of knowledge… also I might need you to sweep me out of there if they begin to react badly. Two) we need to contact Michael and arrange a meetup to see if he is indeed another guardian…" Diana hesitated on the last one.

"And number three?" Gabriel prompted.

"We need to find your father. Only he has the answers to all of this."

"F*ck." Lucifer bit out.

Looks like they had a game plan.

It had been about two hours that Diana had been taken from her brothers and friend by her guardians and in that time, they had stopped at a motel to try and figure out what had happened.

Diana stood outside the motel door that enclosed her brothers and friend with the three Archangels behind her.

"So, are we not going in?" Gabriel asked innocently as Diana shot a glare at him.

"Shut up," Diana hissed before taking a deep breath, raising her hand, and knocking. The loud rumbles that had been emitting from the room came to an abrupt halt before the door swung open with Dean pointing a gun right at Diana's face.

Diana couldn't help the smirk that curved her lips. "Hello, brother, I'm back."

"Diana." He sighed in relief, drawing her into his arms and hugging her tight.

"Dean." She responded as she allowed herself to relax in her big brother's arms for a moment.

"What happened?" Dean asked, pulling away not having noticed her entourage yet.

Sam had though. "Uh, Dean?"

Dean looked over his shoulder at their brother as he came to stand at their sides. He followed Sam's eyes to the familiar figure that was Gabriel and two other men. "Diana, who are they?"

Cas joined them on the other side of Dean, his eyes wide. He pulled the Winchester siblings into the motel as he moved to stand in between the hunters and the newcomers.

Gabriel spoke before Cas could. "Don't worry, Castiel, we are no threat to any of you."

Cas scoffed as Diana was placed in between her brothers. "I find that hard to believe, Gabriel, as you kidnapped Diana and showed up on our step with Lucifer and Raphael flanking you. Both of whom are wanting to start Apocalypse."

Both of her brothers stiffened up and reached for their guns at knowing who they were now up against.

Lucifer rolled his eyes as he came to stand beside Gabriel. "Little Castiel, if we wanted to start the Apocalypse still I would've killed Diana a month ago when I saw her just to hurt this little team Free Will you have. In fact, after seeing her, she has become the most protected mortal."

Her brothers and friend looked over at her and saw that she was not as surprised with Lucifer's statement as she should have been.

"Diana, what is he talking about?" Sam asked. Diana took a deep breath. It was time.

"Cas, Dean, Sam, there is something I need to tell you but since I am still new to the topic, Gabriel, Lucifer, and Raphael, have agreed to explain it all to you. So everyone calm down for one minute and let's just talk. Gabriel was telling the truth that they were no threat to any of us. Cas, please let them in?"

Castiel's and Diana's eyes met and held for a moment as he felt the truth in her words. A moment passed before he stepped back out of the door and moved with the Winchesters' further into the room with the three following. Raphael closed and locked the door while Gabriel closed the curtains so none passing by could see in.

"So? Are you going to explain all of this?" Dean asked gruffly. Dean's question was not aimed at the three guardians. No, his eyes were locked on Diana's. It was clear he wanted Diana to tell him herself what had happened, and then, and only then, would he move onto the big threats in the room.

Diana took a deep breath. "It all started with a prank war…"

It took a bit of time for Diana to spill everything that had been happening between herself and the archangels to Dean, Sam, and Castiel. By the end of it all, Dean's head was in his hands and Sam was gaping at them while Cas stared at them all in surprise.

"So let me make sure I'm understanding this all," Dean began as he lifted his head, his green eyes piercing Diana. "You have a confirmed guardian bond with Lucifer, Raphael, and Gabriel and a suspected guardian bond with Michael. If you do have one with him, then the Apocalypse will be no more as none of them would do anything to hurt you. On top of that, you had met a man whom you fell in love with, whom you were going to have a family and a life with before it was taken from you."

Diana sniffled at the last part but nodded her head.

"And y'all have a plan to hunt down God to get him to explain what he did when he formed the bonds between yourselves and Diana. I get all that right?"

"Uh, yep, you got it pretty much covered," Diana said, taking a deep breath, tension still filling her body as Dean and Sam stood and exchanged looks with each other.

Diana knew her guardians could feel it as they shifted to get ready to intervene if Dean or Sam became a threat to their charge.

"I guess I have only two things left to say." Dean said as he moved forward and swiftly jerked Diana into his arms as he hugged his little sister. "I'm so sorry that you had to go through all of that by yourself, little sister. And know that you can always come to Sam and I about anything alright?" Diana just nodded her head that was buried in Dean's chest. Dean turned his attention onto the three big guys in the room. "What do we need to do to get Michael down here and how are we going to find your father?"

"I'll be able to summon him down here briefly into a temporary vessel. Once he is in the presence of Diana, the bond will instantly form if they are bonded. If not, Gabriel and Lucifer will be able to get her out of there quickly while I'll distract him. Castiel, while we are working on Michael, we need you to see if you can narrow down where Father could be."

Sam drew Diana into his arms as Dean released her, all three siblings needing comfort from each other at this moment.

"So no using my body as your vessel?" Sam asked curiously.

Lucifer shook his head. "No, I don't need it any longer. It is true that your body would have allowed me to use my full power but this vessel that I created when I first came to Earth will suffice."

"Good."

Then they began to plan for what they would need to do in order for the Apocalypse to be ended.

Diana took a deep breath as she stood beside Raphael in the beautiful park bathed in sunlight. Gabriel and Lucifer were nearby, she knew, but cloaking their presence from Michael.

"He's coming… don't be afraid, Diana, we'll protect you." Diana looked up at him before nodding, relaxing slightly as he took her hand and the tension began to drain out of her.

"Brother." A deep voice rumbled from behind them. The two turned to see a heavily muscled man with blonde hair that reached his shoulders, a beard and mustache and piercing blue eyes that locked onto Diana even though he was addressing Raphael. "Why have you summoned me? And why do you have a human here?"

"Michael, this is Diana, my charge."

Michael's eyebrows rose in surprise. "Your charge? You're guardian bound?"

"I am."

Then Michael's eyes narrowed slightly. "Diana… what is her last name?"

Raphael's narrowed in return. "Don't ask me, ask her. She is capable of speech."

"You, what is your last name?"

Diana released Raphael's hand and crossed her arms, scowling at him. "My name is Diana Winchester."

Michael's eyes darkened in anger. "Your charge is a Winchester?"

"Before you continue, brother, I want you to check one thing for me."

"What?"

"Do you have a bond forming with her as well?"

Michael looked at him confused now.

"What? You know that it is impossible for a charge to have more than one guardian."

"Just do as I requested."

Michael growled but did so, closing his eyes as he searched for this 'bond'. It took him a few moments… but he found it. His eyes snapped open as he followed the bond to the female Winchester.

"What is this?"

Raphael didn't say anything except snap his fingers and suddenly Lucifer and Gabriel were there with them.

The appearance of their two other brothers caused Michael to tense even more.

"What is going on?"

"Diana is all of our charge. We all have a guardian bond with her and you just confirmed that you have one as well with her. Not only is that strange, but exact copies of our wings have tattooed themselves on her body and when we place our hand on those marks, we can sense our own grace inside of her." Gabriel explained.

Michael listened, tension slowly leaking out of his body as his blue eyes pierced Diana's own.

"Raphael, you're the expert on this matter. Has anything even close to this situation occurred?"

"No, nothing… That's why we have Castiel searching for Father right now." Raphael said.

"So Father is our only answer on this situation?" Michael clarified.

"He is, unless you have a better idea?" Lucifer quipped.

Michael turned his head towards Lucifer, the two eyeing each other for the first time in several millennium.

"Lucifer, are we jumping ahead to the Apocalypse?"

"No, Michael, continuing the Apocalypse would hurt Diana so I will not be participating."

A light bulb seemed to go off in Michael's head as he remembered exactly what family Diana was apart of. At the very thought of continuing the Apocalypse and hurting Diana indirectly, a pang shot through Michael's grace. He knew that he wouldn't be doing so either.

"We're in agreement on that then, Lucifer."

Tension that had been in Raphael, Gabriel, Lucifer, and Diana drained out of them at Michael's words.

Diana felt a familiar burn on her left ankle causing her to hiss. She knelt as the four guardians looked down at her in concern. Raising her pants leg, a blue and white pair of wings that perfectly matched Michael's wings. Michael knelt down to closely examine this new mark on their charge.

"May I?"

Diana hesitated but agreed. Once he did, however, the familiar sensation did happen but also a strong painful sensation filled Diana causing her to gasp and fall back onto the grass but Lucifer caught her.

"Diana, Diana, what's wrong?"

Diana's eyes opened and they were glowing, startling the four.

When Diana spoke, her voice echoed around them. "The bond has been completed."

Then she slumped back in faint as the four began to panic.

Now they definitely didn't know what was going on.

Diana slowly woke from her dreams of the past as the arm around her bare waist tightened.

"Good morning, love," Klaus's husky British accent sent shivers down her spine as he placed kisses on her neck. "Do you have time for another round?"

Diana smirked as she turned over and kissed him as her answer. She did have a round or two left in her.
