As Shirayuki grinds up fresh seasoning for them, Zen works alongside Obi, trying to get the chicken cut up just right and keep decently busy, so that they aren't just standing around. And Kiki and Mitsuhide are cleaning fresh vegetables and cutting them up, little piece by piece.

And Zen marvels that they work so well as a team. And then there's Shirayuki coming over with the bowl of seasoning, and helps both Obi and Zen with seasoning the chicken. And then she's with them, helping to fry it, and adding just the warmth of her presence and smile to the kitchen. It's always a delight to have her helping out.

Then, Kiki comes over to prepare a dressing really quick for the salad, while Mitsuhide chops up the rest of the vegetables. And Zen admires how well his aides work together, as if they've always known each other, working in tandem, working together peacefully and without any issues.

It's weird that Zen met Kiki first with how well she and Mitsuhide work together. Mitsuhide only met her after Zen had already gotten to know her and accepted her application to be his knight and personal aide. And somehow the two of them came to know each other just as well if not better, got to figure out how the other thinks, and somehow meet each other in response to that.

Zen's a little blown away as he flips chicken with Obi and Shirayuki and listens to Obi's jests and teasing, as natural as air it seems to the other. It's familiar and homey here, and Zen is grateful that he has such amazing people to step into the kitchen with and cook side by side and together.
