Chapter Eight

Diana blinked her eyes open, trying to clear the blurriness.

"Easy." A female voice soothed as she helped Diana up even as Diana rose unsteadily to her feet with a groan.

"W-Where am I?" Diana asked as her vision cleared despite her pounding head. Her eyes fell on three females and her in a cavern with an altar. "What is this place?"

The three women ignored her as a voice from outside called out: "Bring her out!"

Two of the women grabbed the chain binding her hands together and led her out of the crypt she had been in as she looked around and saw that she was in a cemetery.

Looking ahead she saw the waitress from the bar she had been in earlier in the week where she had some fantastic gumbo and standing in front of her was Klaus, Elijah, Kol, and Finn.

The five of them looked at each other puzzled.

"Uh, what are you guys doing here?" Suspicion began to brew in her mind. "Did you order for them to kidnap me?"

"No, darling, we have had no hand in this." Kol assured even as he and his brothers glared at the other women around them.

"Then what the h*ll is going on?" Diana growled out.

The waitress ignored her. "My sister gave her life to perform a spell to not only confirm this girl's pregnancy but also to confirm that Klaus is indeed the unborn child's father."

The four brothers froze at the witch's words as did Diana but for different reasons.

"What do you mean, 'spell'?" Diana asked suspiciously.

"My name is Sophie and I am a witch, and these are my coven members." Sophie gave in and answered a question of hers.

"Witches?" Diana was slightly shocked. None of these women were giving off the vibes that she usually got from witches… did that mean there were different types of witches in the world?

"Yes, yes, I'm sure this is a shock to you, love, but let's get back to the more important part of the witch's statement. You said that Diana is pregnant with my child. But vampires cannot procreate."

"Vampires?!" Diana was getting fed up with being ignored.

"But you're not just a vampire, are you? You're a hybrid, the first of your kind. Half of you is fertile."

That's it. She bent her head and examined the chains around her wrists and tugged them lightly. The witch that was holding the chain had let it go slack. As Klaus and Sophie argued, Diana had had enough. With a quick yank, the chain tugged out of the witch's hand and into Diana's own but before she could do anything else, there was a whoosh.

When Diana could focus her eyes, she was standing in between Finn and Kol with Klaus and Elijah in front of them and the chains no longer around her wrists but on the ground where she had been.

"Huh, neat." Diana stepped forward and ignored Kol and Finn trying to tug her back. "Now to get to one of the important topics of your last statement, Stacey," "Sophie" "you said that I was pregnant."

"Yes."

"Which one, apparently to Klaus and his brothers should be impossible. Two should be also impossible on my part because I not only take my birth control pills religiously but also I took the morning after pill. And number three not only has it been a little over two months since Klaus and I've slept together, but I've also had one other one night stand a month after Klaus. And I haven't been experiencing any pregnancy symptoms."

Klaus and her traded glances before turning their attention back onto Sophie. At least with that one glance Klaus knew that Diana wasn't trying to control him and his family and was mostly innocent in this scheme.

Elijah interrupted before they could start tearing into the witch again. "Niklaus, listen." All four brothers tilted their heads as they focused their hearing on Diana's stomach.

There was nothing but silence for a moment before Finn sucked in a shocked breath.

"It is true. Diana you are pregnant… now by Niklaus is another thing." Diana felt a tear trying to well up in her eye but she brushed it away.

This was bringing up all of her past trauma with her previous pregnancy all too quickly and it was making her emotional.

"What's stopping me from leaving New Orleans the first chance that I get?" Diana asked, turning her attention onto the witches.

Sophie reached up into her hair and took out a pin which she then stabbed into her own thumb. Diana hissed as she looked down at her own thumb to see a bead of blood appearing.

"Not only did my sister confirm your pregnancy, but she also linked my life to Diana's so whatever happens to me, happens to her. And Jane also created a spell to keep Diana in the great city of New Orleans."

Kol had become fed up with the veiled threats. "If you want Marcel killed, I'll take care of it myself."

Elijah was in agreement with his youngest brother. "Agreed. There is no reason to hold an innocent woman and her unborn child hostage, regardless of whom the father is."

"No. As long as I am connected to Diana, you all are going to do as I say or its bye bye baby and Diana."

Diana glared at the heartless woman. "I'm half tempted to let one of them kill you right now despite the danger it poses myself and my supposed child. And you have another thing coming if you think that whatever happens to me will have any impact on them or their family…" Diana trailed off. She knew that she would be calling in the big guys here really soon. "You know when I was last here with my brothers and father we left chaos in our wake as is the norm of my family."

Sophie scoffed. "And that should make me scared of you?"

Diana smirked. "It should as you have no idea who I am or what connections I have because I assure you whatever boogeyman you think Klaus and his siblings or Marcel are, I know beings that could level New Orleans with a snap of their fingers if I asked. So I propose you don't get too comfortable, Sophie, because once this 'bond' of ours is gone I'm going to be hunting all of you down and making your coven nothing but a footnote. Do I make myself clear?"

Sophie and the other witches were pale but still didn't believe her words while Klaus was staring at his little warrior with something lurking in his eyes.

"We're done here." Elijah said before the five of them whooshed out. They came to a stop a few miles away, Finn reached out and steadied Diana as she tried to get the dizziness out of her eyes.

"Are you alright?"

"Yep, couldn't be better. Thanks for the save. I hope we don't do this again." Diana waved over her shoulder as she started walking further down the street to try to find her bearings so she could get back to her motel and get her things.

Another whoosh and Kol was in front of her.

"Where do you think you are going, darling?"

"I'm going to my motel and getting my stuff and going to try and research how to get rid of this bond that Stacey forced on me."

"I thought you knew someone that could get rid of it." Klaus growled out with a glare.

"I mean they probably could but I know they are really busy right now. Besides I like solving these type of things by myself. I'm not usually a damsel in distress." Diana thought about Cas. He should be showing up soon unless Dean and Sam's case turned out to be more difficult. "Besides one of my brothers should be showing up soon."

"Until then, you'll stay with us." Elijah said, more like ordered.

"Uh, no thanks. I'll stick with my motel."

"That wasn't a suggestion. With there being a slight possibility of you carrying my child, I would be happier if you were somewhere safe with us."

"Speaking of that, what the h*ll?! Vampires? Hybrids? Witches? What kind of a mess have I been brought into?"

"Come on, darling," Kol threw an arm around her shoulders as he began to guide her towards where the motels of New Orleans were. "Let me tell you all about it."
