Chapter Ten
Dean emerged from his room in the bunker and made his way back into the library where Sam and Cas were.
"So, Cas, what is it?"
Cas had a troubled look on his face. "Have either of you heard from Diana?"
"Not really besides an I'm fine text about a week ago. Why?" Sam asked as the two brothers settled around one of the tables.
"I let her know that our case was finished and asked her where she was for us to meet up. She only replied back with an okay… that's not like Diana," Castiel said, obviously worried.
Dean and Sam exchanged glances. "I'm sure she's fine, Cas. She gets like that sometimes. Don't worry, she'll be back to normal in the next month or so."
"Are you sure?"
"We are. That feeling you have? Welcome to the big brother club. You always worry about the younger ones, especially when they aren't communicating with you and they aren't in your line of sight." Dean informed Cas.
"I don't like it."
"Tough luck. Now, Sammy, lets gets some grub while you fill me in on our next case."
About a month later, even Sam and Dean were starting to worry as Diana refused to disclose her location and answer any phone calls. She only communicated through text.
"How do we know that it is even her on the other line anyway?" Sam growled out as Cas, Dean, and himself gathered in the kitchen of the bunker.
"We don't. We need to call her guardians and see if they can locate her or sense if she has been harmed." Cas proclaimed as he began to walk outside. "I'll be right back in."
Sam and Dean weren't waiting long before Cas was leading the four big guys into the bunker.
"Well, well. This is a nice place you have here, Winchesters." Lucifer remarked as he looked around.
"You aren't here to discuss our home, Lucifer," Sam said.
"Yes, Cas said something about Diana?" Gabriel asked.
"What's happened?" Raphael asked.
"We don't know. We haven't been able to get directly into contact with her in over a month, she's not answering our phone calls, she won't tell Cas where she is, she will only reply in text messages," Sam explained.
"So, our next option is the four of you hopefully being able to track her down someway," Dean piped up.
The four closed their eyes as they concentrated on their bond with Diana. At first they noticed nothing unusual with it but when they tried to reach out to her side of the bond, it was like a wall cut them off.
Their eyes snapped open.
"We can tell that she lives and isn't in any significant amount of pain that would present itself in the bonds," Michael began.
"But that is all we can sense. It is like a wall is separating us from sensing her truly and finding where she is," Raphael ended.
"What could be powerful enough to keep the four of you from sensing your bond charge?" Cas asked.
"Something very powerful." Lucifer said softly. "But don't think we couldn't get through the wall, we could with some effort."
"But we might cause harm to Diana, not only physically but also mentally and spiritually." Gabriel assured.
"She is alive though, correct?" Dean asked.
"Oh, definitely. If she had passed, we would have sensed it immediately block or no block." Michael said.
"So what's the plan now?" Sam asked.
Dean looked at him. "We find her the old fashioned way. Cas, we're going need you to help us map where you traveled with her and where she planned on traveling next." Dean glanced up at the others. "Let's find Diana and bring her home. I have a feeling that she is needing us a lot right now."
"Agreed."
