Chapter Thirteen

"What? Is that not the correct terminology?" Cas asked innocently.

Diana couldn't help the fond smile that appeared as she regarded him. "That is the correct terminology, yes, but not the correct delivery… especially when considering the audience." Diana gestured to the glowering guardians and Winchester brothers. Castiel looked over at them and nodded in agreement.

"You mean you are actually pregnant? And why do you keep saying mutt?" Dean demanded.

"Can we go inside, please? I'm getting cold out here." Diana is immediately led inside with Klaus's arm around her. "And I want to change my clothes into something more comfortable before we start having an uncomfortable talk."

"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked her softly as they went up the stairs while Finn and Elijah directed the others into the living room to wait for Diana to come back.

Diana breathed out heavily. "I will be. It's just this conversation is going to be hard. Not only do I have to tell my family what's been going on but I'll have to prevent them from going on a killing spree of the supernatural of New Orleans. And also introduce you to six very overprotective protectors that would happily dismember you and put you back together again only to repeat the process if given the chance."

Klaus didn't quite believe her words although he sensed she believed it. He was the Original Hybrid, nothing could kill him, right?

After changing into a sweater and a pair of leggings and running a dry towel through her hair before putting it up, Klaus rejoined her at the top of the stairs as he had changed his clothes too. The two joined the others in the living room, Rebekah having appeared home and Kol joining them as well.

"Oh, finally! We've been sitting in awkwardness for ten minutes!" Rebekah almost whined. Diana laughed as she accepted the hug Rebekah offered. "I'm glad to see you and the two little monsters are okay."

"Thank you, Beks." Diana turned her attention onto her brothers and guardians, moving to sit across from them on one of the couches with Klaus sitting beside her and immediately taking her hand in his. "So, yes, Dean, in answer to your question, I am pregnant… with twins and Klaus is the father."

Sam and Dean glared murderously at Klaus.

"And what are they?" Sam asked.

"We are the Original family," Finn said simply but before he could continue Raphael interrupted. Diana could tell that they were all less than pleased about the situation.

"They are the first vampires created through Wiccan magic a thousand years ago." The studious archangel said.

"Vampires?!" Dean and Sam exclaimed as they switched their glares to Diana as they jumped to their feet.

"You fell into bed with a monster?" Dean growled. Diana's eyes narrowed as she stood. She had never let them push her around when she was younger and she is sure not going to let them do so now.

"Oh, I'm sorry, do you and Sam realize how hypocritical you are sounding? Ruby ring any bells? Or Anna, even if she wasn't technically a monster, she is still a supernatural being? Or even the other countless monsters you two have slept with unknowingly." Dean and Sam ducked their heads, chastised by their little sister. "And don't think I don't see who you are eyef*cking every day, Dean."

Dean looked at her panicked as everyone looked at him.

"You don't know what you're talking about!"

"Oh, really?" Diana's eyes drifted over to the side where a certain seraph was watching everything in silence from where he sat beside Dean.

"Brat."

"*sshole."

"Okay, you two. Knock it off." Sam butted in. The two two turned their attention onto him.

"Bitch."

"Idiot."

"Jerk. Mouthy."

"I'm confused, are you insulting each other?" Klaus asked. The five angels and devil rolled their eyes.

"Its their thing. They aren't complete until they call each other those insipid names," Lucifer rolled his eyes at the three humans whom glared at him before they got back on track.

"How does that even happen? Aren't vampires infertile" Sam asked. Both Diana and Dean shot Sam a look and with each other.

"I think Dean is going to have to explain how babies are made again, Sam," Diana said with laughter in her voice.

"Uh, no thanks. Once was enough." Dean protested.

"No, I wasn't talking about that! I'm talking about how Raphael said that they became vampires over a thousand years ago."

Dean's eyes lit up as he turned his attention onto Diana. "Is this a Twilight thing?"

"What's Twilight?" Kol and Finn asked Elijah and Rebekah who were wearing matching revolting expressions.

"Be thankful you don't know." Rebekah told her oldest and youngest brother.

"No, Dean, this isn't a Twilight thing. Klaus is actually a hybrid of a vampire and a werewolf. The vampire side kept him infertile until he broke his curse and well it seems his werewolf side is very fertile since he knocked me up with twins." Diana didn't even look as she smacked Klaus's shoulder as he tried to hide his grin.

"I didn't say anything," Klaus protested.

"You didn't have to, I know what you were thinking."

"Now that we have the understanding that you're prego, little Di, catch us up on what has happened and why you have gone nonverbal?" Gabriel said around the Twix bar he was chewing on.

Diana took a deep breath. "It all started when I got to New Orleans…"

Diana told them all everything. "…and since I didn't want the witch anywhere near me, I called out for the four of you and you know everything from there."

It had been a rollercoaster as her guardians and brothers heard all of what had happened since she had arrived in New Orleans. At the sight of Diana almost in tears, Michael moved towards her and drew her into his arms. She couldn't see it, but she did sense it when a layer of Michael's wings wrapped around her, making her feel like the most protected human in the world.

"We're upset with you, you know that right?" He asked softly.

Diana nodded from where she buried her face in his chest.

"Not because you are pregnant with Klaus's progeny. It's because you could have called out to any of us and we would have been by your side. This would of been taken care of before what happened tonight could even be a thought."

Diana couldn't hold in a sob, causing Michael's arms to tighten around her. "But you guys were all busy with Heaven, H*ll, whatever is going on with Purgatory, and then the regular hunts… I also didn't want to be a burden. I already feel like it enough."

Lucifer came forward and drew her into his arms this time. "I swear to you that you will never be a burden to my brothers or I. If you need help, ask for us and we will come. You come before anything else. We would let the world burn if that would be what you want. If you the Apocalypse to start, I'm sure Michael and I can gear up and fight it out."

Diana giggled wetly as she pulled back and took the handkerchief that Elijah held out to her. "You're such a dork, Luci. Thanks Elijah."

"But its all true. You have four of the most powerful entities at your beck and call. Next time something like this or anything even remotely similar to this occurs, you are to reach out to us so that we can take care of it." Gabriel ordered.

"Our Father has made us your guardians for reasons unknown to us." Raphael reminded. "So please let us be your guardians like we're supposed to."

"Okay, I promise I won't ever shut the four of you out like that again." A cough from Sam had her amend her words. "The seven of you out like that again."

"Okay, good we've got that all squared away. Now can someone please tell me what you all are and let me comfort my little mate, my wolf is going crazy!" Klaus growled but froze as the second half of the sentence came out. His widened eyes met Diana's as that word echoed in her mind.

Mate. She was his mate. That's what the bond she had felt all of those months ago was.

"I'm your mate?" She asked as she stood from her kneeling position by Lucifer and Michael and stepped towards Klaus whom was staring at the floor with a clenched jaw.

"Nik? Is that why you always bugged Bex and I about whenever she texted us?" Kol asked, his siblings just as shocked as everyone else. No one had any inkling that Klaus and Diana were mates.

Mates were something that only a supernatural would respond to. There have been wolf and vampire, vampire and witch, witch and wolf, and other supernatural pairings as well as a supernatural being mated to a human. A mate is someone that completes the other one fully and gives them something to lean on when needed.

"Klaus?" Diana asked tentatively. He looked up at her without moving his head. "Is it true?"

He sighed, rising to his feet and taking her hands in his. "It is, love. I've known since the moment I saw you that you are my mate, my little love."

Diana smiled softly at him as he drew her into his arms and buried his head into her neck, breathing in her scent and the faint scent of his children growing inside her.

"Great, we're connected to a mangy mutt," Raphael snarked to his snickering brother.

"Well, this has been fantastic. But also too emotional for me so I believe I am going to go slaughter some witches. Would anyone like to join me?" Lucifer asked. Everyone but Klaus and Diana jumped to do so.

"We have to get back to our motel to get Baby and finish up our hunt, Di, but we will be back within the next day or so. We're going to be sticking around to make sure nothing else happens." Dean warned.

"Wait just one moment," Elijah said as he realized no one had asked or explained one very simple thing. "What are you?"

"I am Michael the Archangel Warrior."

"I am Lucifer, yes, that Lucifer Morningstar, King of H*ll or the devil, take your pick."

"I am Raphael the Archangel Healer."

"I am Gabriel, the Archangel Messenger."

"I am Castiel, a seraph Angel, member of Team Free Will."

The Mikaelsons gaped as a flash of lightning in an otherwise clear sky lit up sets of wings behind all five of them.

Elijah turned his head to meet Diana's. "I hope you don't take this the wrong way, Diana, but what makes you so special to Archangels, the Devil, and an Angel that they would let the end of the world happen?"

"Well, my full name is Diana Winchester, daughter of John and Mary Winchester and sister of Sam and Dean Winchester. Our family has hunted monsters that hurt humans for a long time. After Dean died the first time after selling his soul to bring Sam back to life, Dean being resurrected brought about the beginning of the Apocalypse. Through some twists of fate, I met all four of these dodo birds and we found out that I am their charge, they are my guardian angels. Since a guardian bond is so sacred, Guardians will do whatever they can to prevent their charge from hurting, even in the chance that their own plans need to be put on hold. The end of the world was supposed to be Michael possessing Dean's body and Lucifer possessing Sam's. Since the thought of one or both of my brothers dying hurts me, the Apocalypse has been put on an indefinite hold. Also since four angels have never had the same charge, they are also searching for their Father to see why has done this."

"Huh." Kol said as he, Rebekah, and Finn nodded along. It was Klaus and Elijah whom were looking between the Winchester siblings in shock.

They had obviously heard of the Winchester family. What proper monster hadn't?

Klaus smiled adoringly at his mate. "My little hunter."

His siblings and hers looked at them in disgust.

"Okay, now I'm ready to go hunt the witches. I need bloodshed to get the thought of my best friend and brother being mushy out of my mind." Rebekah said in disgust.

"Amen, sister," Dean agreed. With that, the Mikaelsons, Archangels, and Devil went out to wreck havoc on the witch covens of New Orleans while Castiel took Sam and Dean back to their motel.

Diana leaned her head against Klaus's shoulder as they relaxed in the silence.

She smiled as he kissed her forehead softly. She was right where she was supposed to be all along.

In the arms of her mate, in the arms of the father of her children.
