Chapter Fourteen

Time Skip, 3 months ~ Diana is almost 6 months

"But I want to see it!" Diana about whined as Dean once again moved her away from the almost complete nursery in the Mikaelson compound that they got back after the slaughter of the witches.

Marcel wanted no part in going up against Klaus and his new friends so handed it over grudgingly at first. But now he and Rebekah and Davina and Kol were out touring the world. Dean, Sam, and Castiel had pretty much moved in after they had been reunited and they only left for short amounts of time before they had Cas flash them back.

The Impala was tucked safely away at the bunker and they just asked Cas to take them to and from places if he could. If not, one of the Archangels or the Devil would be gracious enough to do so.

Elijah was always with his recent infatuation Hayley Marshall a werewolf from the Bayou and Diana could see a heartbreak coming for him a mile away. But she knew that it wouldn't be her place to stop it. She would be here though when he needed to nurse his broken heart. He was like another brother to her.

Finn stayed around the compound with her and Klaus, while also occasionally joining Sam and Dean in hunts. She noticed how he seemed to gravitate towards Sam more then anything. She thought they would be cute together, just as Castiel and Dean would be.

There was always at least one Archangel, Devil, or Angel in the compound, just in case. Diana almost rolled her eyes when she figured it out. Luckily, each of them got along great with a Mikaelson sibling so she never had to worry about tensions between them.

Gabriel got along well with Kol and Rebekah. Lucifer got along well with Kol and Klaus. Raphael and Castiel got along great with Elijah and Finn. Michael got along with Elijah and Rebekah.

Lately all of the guys Elijah, Finn, Klaus, Sam, and Dean have been working on the twins' nursery and refused to let her in to see it. So four of them would work on the nursery with the doors closed while the fifth would stand guard and steer her away when she got impatient and tried to break in.

"Diana, we aren't done yet. You know that as soon as we get done that you'll be the first one inside."

Diana pouted up at her big brother. "Please, Dean? One peak wouldn't hurt."

Dean was slowly starting to cave but luckily Klaus came to his rescue.

"Dean, I can't believe you. You almost caved to her!"

"You almost caved to her last week!" Dean protested.

"You know I can't help it when she asks with those sweet eyes," Klaus tried to defend.

Dean scowled at him. "None of us can! That's why she keeps doing it!"

"And that's why the nursery is taking so long. We need two out here to keep each other strong while three of us are working on it." Klaus and Dean exchanged glares and scowls one more time before turning their attention back onto Diana to see her no longer standing in front of them… in fact as they turned quickly around, they saw her standing at the nursery doors once more with Elijah now blocking her way and him sending the two of them a disappointed look.

"We can't leave the two of you in charge of guarding at all. You get too easily distracted." Elijah said as he led Diana back over to them as she followed with a pout. Elijah then turned to reenter the nursery with a kiss on Diana's forehead. "Don't worry, it will all be done by tomorrow. Do you think you can wait that long?"

The pout turned into a bright smile. "Oh, yes! Thank you Elijah!" Then she wandered back to her room.

Dean and Klaus glowered at Elijah's slightly smug look but they followed Elijah back into the room. They did have to hurry if they wanted the nursery to be 100% done by tomorrow. They didn't know what would happen if Diana couldn't get in tomorrow as promised.

The next day Diana waited patiently, or rather, impatiently outside of the nursery doors as the five men stood in between her and the nursery.

"Little love, are you ready to see the nursery for the little wolves?" Klaus asked as he put an arm around her.

"I am." He covered her eyes as Elijah and Finn opened the doors and Sam took her hand to lead her inside.

"Okay, here it is." Klaus dropped his hands and stepped back to stand in the doorway with the others. Diana gasped and covered her mouth as her eyes started to tear up.

It was beautiful. The walls were painted a nice creme color, the floors were a nice hardwood with a huge area rug that matched the walls. There was a changing table, a rocker, two dressers and mini closets as well as two toy chests that were already brimming with items from their various aunts, uncles, and their own parents. From the ceiling dangled a secured chandelier and there were three windows that let in plenty of natural light. In between the two cribs was a bench that had six animal drawn figures courtesy of Klaus.

On the left side was one crib with a large elephant plushie in front of it. Both cribs had canopies that could be drawn around them when needed.

"Oh, its perfect." Diana leaned back as Klaus came up behind her and put his arms around her. "Thank you. All of you. It is better than I imagined."

"Worth the wait?" Sam teased.

"Totally worth the wait." Diana agreed, not minding the teasing from her brothers.

"So, since the nursery is completed, are you going to tell us what you're having?" Dean asked.

"Who did you bet with?" Diana deadpanned as she turned towards him.

"Would I bet on what the sex of the babies my sister and her baby daddy are?"

"Yes." Sam and Diana said at the same time.

"Well, then, tell me how you really feel… after you say what the sex of the babies are." Dean tried to redirect.

Diana and Klaus laughed. "Dean, you know that we didn't want to know the sex of the babies."

"That's not my little sister talking. She's always nosy, wants to know everything!" Dean said, eyes narrowed playfully as she stuck her tongue out at him.

"That is true! Maybe she's been replaced by a shapeshifter!" Sam suggested eagerly. A bit too eagerly in Diana's opinion.

"Okay, you guys enough. You need to go on a hunt or something because you're becoming even more ridiculous than normal. So go bag a couple ghosts or something." The three siblings smiled at each other. Diana withdrew from Klaus and moved towards her brothers, reluctantly getting them to hug her. "Thank you, both of you."

"Okay, no chick flick moments, Di. We talked about this, right?" Dean teased but hugged her just as tightly as she hugged him.

"Right, no chick flick moments. Got it."

Time Skip - 3 months, Diana is just about 9 months

For the first time since Diana started to live in New Orleans, she was home alone. When she woke up from her afternoon nap, she couldn't find anyone anywhere in the compound. They must've gotten the babysitter schedule mixed up.

Dean, Sam, Finn, and Castiel were out on a hunt and should be back tomorrow. Elijah was with Hayley - gag - and Kol and Davina were back but at their own apartment across town. Kol and Klaus could barely be in the same city without trying to tear each other apart let alone the same building. Rebekah and Marcel were on their way back and would be back within the next week or so.

As for Klaus, well, she didn't know where he was nor her guardians, which was weird.

Meanwhile, at the same time

"What do you want, mutt?" Raphael demanded as the five of them stood in an alleyway a couple blocks away. "You know she is going to be waking up any minute and no one is going to be there with her."

"I know, I know. Don't worry, this will only take a minute." Klaus took a deep breath and reached into his pocket and took out something. "I just needed to ask you something." He opened his hand and showed them what it was. "Do you think she will like it?"

"Vampy, she will love it." Gabriel said with a grin that Klaus returned.

"Now let's get back before she gets into trouble," Lucifer commanded.

"We've been gone for three minutes. How much trouble could she possibly have gotten herself into?" Michael asked.

They appeared in the compound and they all froze. Diana was dragging down the packed go bag and had just reached the bottom of the stairs when they appeared. They all froze looking at each other.

"Uh, Diana, what are you doing?" Michael asked hesitantly.

She glared at him, or well, all of them. "I'm getting the go-bag."

"We can see that." Raphael said. "The better question is why?"

"Why do you think I'm dragging the go bag down the stairs, Raphael?" Diana snapped.

All of the men were stumped for a moment.

"I'm in labor, you idiots!" Diana snarled as she breathed through another contraction. That bolted them into action as Lucifer snapped and they all appeared at the alleyway besides the hospital with the go bag in Gabriel's hands.

Klaus picked up Diana gently as she breathed threw another contraction and the others followed.

After quickly getting assistance and into a delivery room, Klaus and Diana were by themselves for a time as the others were forced to wait out in the waiting area.

They still didn't have any news by the time the rest started showing up a few hours later.

"Any news?" Dean asked as he sat beside Raphael.

"No, none. And she is blocking her part of the bonds so we aren't getting much from her." Raphael replied.

"And whose fault is that?" Lucifer hissed as all of them stared daggers at Gabriel.

"She puppy dog eyed me! None of us can resist it!"

A few hours after that, Klaus came out with the largest smile any of them had ever seen. Maybe the closest his siblings saw to it was when Henrik was still alive.

"They are all three healthy and perfectly content after this whole ordeal," he said before any of them could ask. He turned to Sam and Dean. "She's asking for you two and I guess the rest of you can come as well."

Rebekah and Marcel weren't there yet but they were racing to get home as fast as possible without teleportation. And none of the angels or devil wanted to leave the hospital even for a second to get her since she wasn't that far away.

They all trailed behind Klaus as he led them into the large room his little family had been placed into. Diana looking pale and tired smiled up at them all softly as she clutched the two sleeping bundles to her chest.

Klaus moved towards her and after she nodded, carefully picked one of them up and carried them over to where Dean and Sam were even as she began to speak quietly to her brothers.

"Sam, Dean, I would like you to meet your niece: Aspen Mary Winchester-Mikaelson." The two brothers felt emotional at the honor their sister was giving to their mother and really to the family by wanting to pass on the Winchester name.

"She's beautiful, Di," Dean whispered as he and Sam looked her over from where she was in her father's arms. Their quiet awe turned into slight panic as Klaus gently placed little Aspen in her uncle's arms. "Klaus!" He hissed but Klaus only grinned at him.

Looking down at the little baby, Dean felt himself soften. Holding her brought back memories of Diana and Sam at that age, and brought back memories of their parents.

Klaus returned to Diana and took the other baby, bringing the baby over and surprisingly placed them into Kol's surprised but steady arms.

"Nik?" He puzzled.

"We might argue a lot, little brother, but don't think that I don't trust you, especially with my children." Klaus said softly. "This is Henri Kol Winchester-Mikaelson, your nephew."

After proclaiming and starting the introductions between their children and family, Klaus moved back to sit in the chair next to Diana's bed as they watched their family pass the babies around. He grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it softly.

"I love you, Nik," Diana said softly, not being able to hide the smile that appeared on her face at the absolute terror Lucifer showed at having been passed one of the children.

"I love you, too, little love."

Three months later

Diana came down the stairs onto the first floor of the compound as she double checked with Elijah, Kol, and Rebekah that they could take care of the twins for the night.

"You are certain you'll be fine, right?" She fretted. Kol laughed and spun her around causing her to echo it as she finished the spin in Klaus's arms as he joined them.

"Diana, we are a thousand years old and there are three of us. We can handle two little three month old babies for a night. Go, have fun." Kol assured.

"Okay, okay! We're going. Let us know if anything happens." Diana called back as Klaus was finally able to drag her out and into the city.

Finally arriving at the restaurant where they were having dinner after the movie they had watched at the cinema, Klaus was ready to ask her a simple question. They had been sitting and chatting and eating when dessert was finally brought out.

Diana turned her head as she thought she had heard some interesting gossip from a nearby table so when she turned her head to see Klaus on one knee in front of her, she gasped.

"Diana Winchester, you are the love of my life. The mother of my children. The rock that holds me together through everything. Would you do me the honor of being able to call you my wife?"

"Yes."
