Diana
(HP x OUAT)
In which our favourite heroes & villains have the pleasure of meeting the Malfoy siblings, Diana and Draco, and everything changes for both parties.
~ PART ONE ~
"I am loyal to Pan," Felix gritted his teeth as he stared at the pair of heroes in front of him. "He's given me everything I wanted, so why should I let one girl and a tattoo on my arm ruin it all for me?"
Snow's face softened as she saw the fear in the boy's hazel eyes. Slowly, she took a step forward, ignoring David's protests, and not at all worried about the club Felix held tightly which he could no doubt harm her with.
"Because you know that this is a chance of a lifetime, and if you stay here, you won't get to see her ever again. Are you really willing to sacrifice this chance of happiness to keep your loyalty to someone who would probably replace you or discard you at first opportunity?"
"Lies!" Felix hissed, but it was too late. The blonde-haired beauty that was his soulmate had already intrigued him, took a hold of his emotions and the woman in front of him wasn't helping him in trying to deny it.
He had a soulmate, and he would be stupid to give up such an rare opportunity, something he had dreamed of as a young boy. But, could he really betray Pan? He was second in command, he couldn't be replaced!
Snow looked at the scarred lost boy in front of her and her shoulders sagged in disappointment. It seemed that poor Diana was destined for heartbreak at this rate, and Draco would probably kill Felix for rejecting his little sister. Things weren't looking good at all.
A frown graced Diana's lips as she laid her head against the warm window next to her, discontentment appearing on her face as she sat inside her brother's car.
"What's wrong?" her brother asked, glancing at her from the driver's seat as he gripped the leather steering wheel tightly.
Diana sighed, lifting her head from the window as she watched them drive through a tunnel of vibrant, towering trees. "I just can't understand why you'd want to drive all this way to find an ideal place to move, when we've already visited several perfectly nice cities."
"Exactly Diana, they're cities." Draco kept his eyes on the road as he drove, but the arrogance in his voice didn't go unnoticed by his younger sister.
"As much as I don't mind sight-seeing in Vermont, Portland and any other city, the local magical community is bound to recognise us eventually if we stay and I doubt they'll be happy to have a former follower of the Dark Lord in their territory."
Diana's frown was still present on her face as she took in her brother's response, before she made a curtain around herself with her platinum waves. Her dainty fingers pulled on the grey sleeves of her cardigan as she tried to put herself in her brother's shoes.
However, wouldn't staying in a small town be even worse? Surely, they would get recognised much more quickly in a smaller community rather than in the camouflage of the busy crowds one would find in the city.
Diana quickly pushed her doubts aside, after all she and Draco had made a deal before they left England; her brother gets to choose where they live and in what accommodation, whereas she got to decorate their new home without a peep out of Draco regarding her choices in fabric and colour.
A silence came over the two, with only the music in the car and the low hum of the engine breaking it, leaving both Malfoy's to their own thoughts.
Unfortunately, Diana's mind was still filled with unease about Draco's choice in choosing a small town for them to reside in, and eventually she couldn't keep the burning question inside of her anymore.
"I understand where you're coming from about people finding us, but wouldn't a small town be just as bad?" she inquired, lifting her head to stare at her brother with her light eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
Draco chuckles, glancing at his sister again before asking her, "It depends on the community, but what if I told you that I had already decided on where we'll be moving to, but I thought some sight-seeing would make a nice detour?"
"DRACO!" Diana cried out indignantly, watching as a small, mischievous smile played on her brother's lips as he watched the road ahead.
"I wouldn't be so upset if I were you," he chuckled. "Remember, all of those new books you bought? Surely, the detours must have been worth it."
"I suppose they were," Diana weighed before she crossed her arms and leant against her leather seat. "You could have told me sooner though."
"Sorry," Draco apologised, though it didn't come across very sincere. Diana shrugged, used to her brother's behaviour by now and decided to let his actions go.
Feeling parched, the blonde heiress reached for the bottle of water she had bought at their previous rest stop, unscrewing the lid and taking a swig. Once she finished having a drink and screwed the lid back on, she asked him about his logic in a small town being less dangerous.
Draco's grip on the steering wheel tightened as he spoke, "Anywhere is dangerous, but I think you'll enjoy where I've chosen. There are residents there who can use magic, though it's a bit different from our own."
This intrigued Diana greatly, causing a flurry of excitement to make itself known in her stomach. Perhaps, because she and Draco would be around people who could also do magic, they wouldn't have to hide their true selves either!
"What sort of magic do they have?" Diana asked, trying her best to keep her voice controlled. However, Draco had already noted the curious look in her eye and believed that she was just as thrilled as himself to find out they could still use their own magic.
He had even gotten permission from the Ministry as well as the MACUSA, who both agreed that if they were to have been shown magic first by the people of Storybrooke, then they could use their own abilities without fear of prosecution, as the residents of Storybrooke were not your ordinary Muggles.
"Well, I did a little investigating before fully deciding for us to move here, and let me put it this way: the worst someone can do is throw a fireball at us, or in special circumstances, summon a wraith. "
A wraith? Diana didn't like the sound of that, at all. Fireballs she can handle, but a magical creature neither of them have heard about in school? That seemed a little more concerning.
"You have me doubting now," she told him honestly. "And what exactly is a Wraith? I don't believe we've learnt anything of the sort at school."
"It looks a bit like a Dementor, so I assume it's a relative." Draco answers flippantly, causing Diana to want nothing more than to hit her brother upside the head. But, he was currently driving and the last thing she wanted was to subject them to a car crash.
Besides, it's a miracle Draco learnt to drive efficiently in the first place, seeing as they were both purebloods who were raised not to get involved with Muggles and their inventions.
Personally, their Aunt Andromeda thought it was a brilliant idea that Draco wanted to learn. On the other hand, their mother had been just as worried as Diana when Draco first sprung the idea on them.
But, Draco had set his mind on getting a Muggle driving licence, and persuading him otherwise had been a difficult matter. And, unfortunately for their mother, Diana had the exact same level of stubbornness as her brother, despite being two years younger than him.
"I wouldn't worry too much about Wraiths, Ana. After everything we've been through, you're not clueless in defending yourself." Draco sends his sister a small smile filled with encouragement, and Diana quickly returns it before leaning back in her seat and taking her brother's words to heart.
The truth is that the siblings had been in their own personal Azkaban during the height of Voldemort's reign, and happiness for them was practically non-existent at the time, and the defeat of the person that tormented their family the most hadn't made things better either.
Diana couldn't remember a time where they weren't slandered by the Daily Prophet, or where they could freely browse in Diagon Alley without being thrown out or chased off.
It was awful, and truthfully it often the platinum-haired girl into tears because she couldn't understand why people would be so horrible to them after her best friend Harry bore witness that her brother had been forced into the role of the Death Eater, and that Diana and her mother had no choice but to play host to the Dark Lord and his followers, catering to their need and allowing them to use Malfoy Manor as a headquarters.
She was naïve to think that after Harry told people the truth about their position in the war that things would be better. A bruised reputation was fine, but being outright hated for being in between a rock and a hard place is something the Malfoy girl could never forget.
Draco wanted a fresh start in life, and Diana had jumped at the chance to go with him. Narcissa wasn't thrilled to let her children go, but her sister Andromeda had convinced her that it was time for them to fly out of the nest, discover the world and have new experiences for themselves.
So, here they were, driving towards a place Diana knew practically nothing about, and yet her brother had seemingly discovered every secret, every odd thing there was to know about the place that they were going to.
"...Draco?"
"Yes, Ana?" Draco answered as he continued driving down the road at a fast pace, thankfully not hitting any wildlife in the process.
Diana was about to ask him the name of the town they were moving to, and the method of how he found out the information regarding it, when the words got lost on her tongue as a sign suddenly appeared out of the middle of nowhere.
"Welcome to Storybrooke…" she read out loud, her eyebrows knitting together at such a fictional sounding name.
Diana almost missed the smirk Draco gave her as he slowed the pace of his driving, and soon enough, they were passing several houses until the sight of a clock tower and shops offering different products and services came into view.
"Welcome to our new home, Cyggy." The platinum-haired girl would have scowled at the awful nickname if she wasn't so entranced by the vintage looking, yet charming little town.
Excitement now bubbled in her stomach much more vigorously, and she was beginning to feel more peaceful about moving to a small town after all the doubt and confusion planted into her mind. Perhaps, Draco was right and Storybrooke would be the best place for them to reside.
After all, what could be worse than what they've just survived?
A/N: Ah yes, what could be worse? The poor Malfoy siblings are about to find out sooner or later! Well, I've been inspired to write something regarding Pan's second in command Felix for a while, and I accidentally made it into a crossover, but who cares? We don't have enough HP x OUAT crossovers if you ask me! Hopefully, you'll enjoy this one and join me in experiencing Diana and Draco's adventures with our favourite heroes and villains! Until next time :)
P.S. If anyone is confused about the start of the chapter when Felix is speaking with Snow White, that is because it is a preview of the future in Part One of this book. There will be several parts to the book (with many chapters in each), and each part will contain an excerpt of a special moment! I hope this clears any confusion up and that you're looking forward to reading Diana's journey.
