"Gather around, team! I have something important to show you all!"
On the orders they were given, the Phantom Thieves stopped what they were doing while hanging out in Café LeBlanc. They seated themselves on the floor of Joker's bedroom. All of their gazes were fixed to the one who wanted their undivided attention.
Joker was sitting in the center of the group. It was not him who had told just told his teammates to gather together. It was the one member of the Phantom Thieves who always felt he should be their leader.
"What is it, Morgana?" Ann asked.
"What d'ya wanna show us?" Ryuji huffed, far from pleased to be taking orders from a cat.
Morgana smiled broadly as he stood on Joker's bed, gazing down at the teenagers sitting on the floor before him. "Behold, Phantom Thieves! I have brought you here to lay your eyes upon something truly amazing!
"What would that be?" Futaba questioned curiously.
"The very first pierce of…" Morgana's blue eyes twinkled. "…Morgana merchandise!"
The teenagers stared, bewildered at the word the cat had uttered after saying his own name.
"Morgana…" Yusuke uttered. "Merchandise?"
"Uh huh! I thought it would be a nice way for us to make some money from the people who approach us to change hearts and save the day!"
"But, Mona," Ann exclaimed, "we do all that because we're keepers of justice!"
"We sure do, Lady Ann!" Morgana rubbed his paws together. "But I don't see anything wrong with us getting a bit of cash for our troubles! Think of how much sushi I could buy, and you guys will be able to afford your colleague funds - except for Ryuji, 'cause his grades suck too much for him to graduate.
Ryuji frowned. He was annoyed as he always was whenever his bad school grades were brought up, especially by the cat who was always insulting him.
"So what is this merchandise of yourself you plan to show us and sell to our clients?" Goro asked.
"I thought about that for a long time." Morgana walked over to where a cardboard box was sitting on Joker's bed. "I wondered what merchandise of myself would really sell well. I considered some hot ideas like a Morgana backpack or a Morgana coffee mug."
Joker chuckled. He was amused at the idea of Morgana carrying the hot beverage he claimed to really love or being shaped like a school bag go hang from people's backs - like the one the leader of the Phantom Thieves used to carry the cat around school without being seen.
"Until I finally decided on this!" Morgana reached into the box and pulled something out into view. "Tadaaaaa!"
The teenagers blinked and gaped at what the cat had to show them.
It was a small soft toy that looked very much like a black and white cat.
In fact, it looked exactly like the feline who was holding it.
"A plushie?" Haru murmured.
"Not just any plushie! A Morgana plushie! It looks just as handsome and cuddly as me! It even talks just like me! I got it record my voice to to say all my beloved phrases!"
Eager to demonstrate and show off what the soft toy in his likeness could do, Morgana gave it a squeeze.
"Go to sleep!" the plushie said. "You must be tired!"
Joker's eyes rolled behind his glasses. He heard enough of that phrase every night from the real Morgana.
Using his paws, the little cat squeezed the toy again.
"Mrawhahaha!" A cackle escaped the plushie. "It's scary how good I am!"
The teenagers exchanged irked looks. The plushie of Morgana had certainly captured how vain and full of himself the real one was.
Morgana squeezed the toy again.
"T…T…T…Trrrrreeeeeaaaaasssssuuuuurrrrreeee!" the plushie cried. "Mrrrrreeeeeooooowwwww!"
"I can't imagine anyone would want to spend their money a toy cat that says all those things!" Ryuji grunted.
Morgana glared at the blonde before squeezing the toy in his paws again.
"I am not a cat!" The plushie burst out. "Don't call me that, you moron!"
Ryuji jumped, startled. Not only did the plushie sound exactly like the real Morgana whenever he was in denial of what he was, but it was if it was yelling directly at him. He found it very eerie.
"I'm certain this will be the must-have toy everyone in the city wants!" Morgana smiled smugly as he clutched the toy close while directing his gaze at the leader of the Phantom Thieves. "Wouldn't you agree, Joker?"
"Oh yeah!" Joker nodded. "I can see us selling those plushies in mass numbers!"
"You think so?" Ryuji exclaimed, surprised by Joker's answer. "For real?"
"See?!" The conceited smile on Morgana's furry face widened. "If Joker thinks this toy will sell well, it will!"
"Of course it will! No person will turn down the chance to have a Morgana of their own…" Joker paused and snickered. "…so they too can button mash it!"
Morgana's smile vanished. He was not pleased at the idea of people buying the plushies to put them through what hat hated experiencing himself. He glared irritably at Joker - before throwing the toy in his paws at him.
"Ow!" Joker cried as he was knocked flat on his back by the soft toy which looked just like his cat.
