It has been written that once Heimdall blows the Ghallarhorn, a god-killing event is about to happen.
As he heard the sound of the horn signalling the start of the fight, Saitama hyped himself up. Thor, on the other hand, wasted no time and charged after him. About to strike with Mjolnir as he would with any monster.
"And with this, the fight's over!" Thor shouted as he brought Mjolnir down on Saitama…
Only to be caught off guard as the divine weapon did absolutely nothing to harm his opponent. The bald man needed only to block it with only just one finger.
"You didn't think it'd be that easy, did you?" Saitama smirks.
Thor then took a couple steps back. Now trying to evaluate the best possible attack against the man. Something he thought he wouldn't be doing just a moment ago.
He then conjured the lightning that courses through his veins. Making his weapon more deadlier than it was before. Noticing this, Heimdall screams. "It looks like Thor is preparing to wrap this up, folks!"
For the first time in a long time, Odin finally spoke. Much to the suprise of his crows. "Kill him… Son."
Thor rushes towards Saitama again. This time seeking to end the fight as quickly as he can. He will no longer tolerate the humiliation this human has given him any longer. Using both hands, he brings the hammer down on Saitama…
Only to feel him tap him on the back. That could only mean that he snuck up behind him without him even noticing. But how was that even possible? He would have had to move faster than light.
Saitama poked Thor's cheek. "Come on now. You gotta be faster."
Enraged, Thor shouts. "I'LL KILL YOU!"
As the fight continues, Heimdall announces what he's seeing.
"I… I can't believe it, folks! Thor is giving it his all yet he is somehow unable to hit Saitama! It's as if he's moving faster than the eye can see!"
Witnessing the fight, Shiva shouts down at Thor. "Come on, Thor! Stop toying around and end this already!"
Never before in Thor's life had he felt the way he is now. Equal parts humiliated and frustrated. All because of only a single human.
He stops attacking, causing Saitama to stand still.
He tilts his head to the side. "Uh… Earth to Thor… You do know there's a fight going on, right?"
After taking a moment to calm himself down, Thor spoke. "It is… such a shame that you were born with the affliction of humanity… Saitama, was it? I can now tell that your strength is far beyond that of a normal human being. Tell me… You weren't born this way. You've earned your strength, haven't you?"
Saitama crosses his arms. "Hmm… Every single day… I became stronger than I was the day before. It didn't matter how difficult things got. I didn't make any excuses and I just kept moving forward."
"Admirable… really it is." Said Thor. "It still doesn't change the fact that all that strength of yours… is nothing but a WASTE!"
Within a second, Thor leans back and chucks Mjolnir at Saitama. He had charged it with his lightning earlier, so it ensures that he'll have nowhere to run. "I got you now!"
Smirking, Saitama clenches his right fist. "I'm flattered… I'll give you a little reward for that… Serious Series…"
He timed his punch perfectly to collide with Mjolnir while it's heading for him. It didn't take much from him afterward. It was like a glass being thrown at a steel wall. "Serious Punch."
Mjolnir is the glass in this metaphor. With a loud bang, Mjolnir shatters into pieces. Scattering in a big mess behind Saitama.
Despite being at a loss for words, Heimdall continues speaking.
"Uh… No, your eyes are not decieving you, folks! It would appear that Saitama had just shattered Thor's hammer… I don't know what else to say!"
"It… can't… be…" Odin too, was at a loss for words.
"He… He did it! He really did it!" Goll stood with wide eyes.
Having destroyed Mjolnir, Saitama points at Thor.
"You know, this reminds me of a movie I once saw. You, well… a different incarnation of you, had his Mjolnir destroyed while it was being thrown."
"I've heard enough out of you!" Thor shouted at him. "Do you have any IDEA who I AM!?" He points at himself. "I… am a GOD, you hear me! And I'll do whatever it takes to kill you, Saitama! Even if it means that I have to do it with my bare fucking hands!"
His fists now charged with lightning, Thor seeks to close the distance between him and Saitama.
Saitama, however, planned for this. "Serious Series… Serious Table Flip!"
Within a second, he dug his hands into the dirt and shattered the ground underneath Thor. Causing him to lose his balance. "What the."
As he stood back up, he noticed Saitama rushing closer to him. He moved so fast that the God of Thunder could only see about two-dozen afterimages surrounding him from all sides.
"Killer Move. Serious Series: Omnidirectional Serious Punch!"
All it really took from Saitama to kill Thor was a single punch. It wasn't even a fight. It was more like a beating. As Thor drew his last breath, he finally understood humanity's potential. Even though it's too late to do him any good.
With Thor's lifeless, bloody corpse hitting the ground, Saitama could hear the cheering of the crowd. He had done humanity a tremendous service.
Odin ran his fingers through his hair. "My son… I can't believe it."
Heimdall spoke again. "And that… concludes the end of Round One of Ragnarok! The winner of this round… The first champion of the final battle between God and Man… IS SAITAMA!
The human race is now one step closer… to its survival!"
Thor vs Saitama
Match Length: 3 minutes and 33 seconds.
Deciding Move: Omnidirectional Serious Punch.
Winner: Saitama.
"Listen, I'd like to thank you again for agreeing to participate in Ragnarok."
Brunhilde is speaking to Saitama. Cheering can be heard outside the room they're in.
Saitama scratches the back of his head. "Oh, it was nothing really. I'm just happy to help."
Goll then says to him. "How'd you get so strong anyway? I've never seen a human fight like you before."
Saitama couldn't help but smile. "Push ups. Sit ups. And plenty of balanced meals."
Goll looked puzzled. That wasn't anything like the answer she was expecting. "Uh… What?"
At the other side of the Colesseum, the Gods are having a conversation of their own.
"I never imagined I'd come across a human being like that." Said Zeus. Sitting down in his chair. "I'm not entirely convinced that he's even human at all."
Aphrodite then spoke up. "I'm getting a feeling that there may be a tiny bit about the human race that we are not yet familiar with."
Zeus nods in agreement. "We may have lost the first match, but I'm still confident in our victory. All we have to do is know what exactly we're dealing with. After that, it's just a matter of proper planning and strategy. As much as it pains me to quote a human, I shall agree with Sun Tzu, the one who wrote The Art of War. Every battle is won before it is even fought."
Beside him, his son Hermes, began to gently clap.
Saitama looks at the computer screen that Brunhilde is looking at.
"So what exactly are you planning?"
"It's going to be some time before other heroes arrive in this universe. For now, I've chosen our next fighter for the second round." Answers Brunhilde. "Humanity's file… Number 1."
For a moment, Saitama didn't know what Brunhilde meant. But then it hit him like a ton of bricks. Not that these metaphorical bricks would do any damage to him.
With a look of shock on his face, he looks at her.
"You're not implying what I… think you are… Are you?"
Brunhilde looks at Saitama… and gives him a smile.
