A world quest is a quest that needs to be completed before you leave the world.
Filmon looked at the quest, annoyed by the game. 'So if I don't do this quest I lose the game?'
Filmon almost wanted to deny the quest right then and there, but he didn't. What if he wasn't sent home? If he lost the game, would he never see his family again?
He'd already lost enough in his life, he couldn't bear losing them too. "Alright, fine." He sighed as he looked out at the city, it suddenly seemed much bigger than when he had first got in the world.
'A corpo huh? That should be interesting...' Filmon thought to himself. 'Looks like I'll be here... Longer than I thought.'
Filmon sat down, watching the people walk around him, going about their day. It was odd to think that this was just a part of their daily routine.
"Oh well, no use regretting anything now, it'll be fun, I can get all rich and whatever," Filmon said to himself, leaning against a building.
"But how the fuck am I supposed to start?"
(Two Months Later)
"Good work kid!" Ares yelled at a young blonde who was shooting at some hired Akasaka guards.
The job had been simple, attack a high-ranking politician and scare him away from reenlistment.
"You're getting good at this," Ares said as he patted the boy on the back, grinning slightly. "But we've got other jobs, this one's about finished, let's go before these Akasaka guys can stop us-"
Ares turned around, using his huge rifle to block a pair of blades meant to kill him.
"Huh, never thought I'd see you again, I was hoping the client had you killed or something when you couldn't give them those blueprints, how disappointing," Filmon said, smiling a bit as he jumped back.
There were two hooded people behind him who just stayed still behind the man as he sheathed his mantis blades.
"Well look at that, it seems you haven't forgotten me after all..." Ares said, a slight edge to his voice. "Do you know the shit I had to go through because of you? I'm blacklisted by nearly every fixer in the city, work is almost impossible to come by!"
Filmon smirked at his words. Ares didn't know what it was, but in the two months Filmon had disappeared, something had changed about the kid he'd met wandering on the street.
"That's rough, you also seem to be in a rough spot with all those Arasaka goons around... I could give you a hand if you want," Filmon said, smiling a bit wider as Ares looked at him in confusion.
"Just because you have some tech on you now doesn't mean you've suddenly become a once-in-a-lifetime solo kid, I got it..."
Ares said this confidently, but with the shots being fired at the wall he was hiding behind, he wasn't so sure.
"Solo? No, you've got it all wrong Ares, I'm not a solo..." Filmon said as he looked back at the two behind him, nodding.
The two flashed forward past Ares in the blink of an eye, the gunfire quickly shifting over to them.
The two dodged the gunfire, hiding behind cars and slowly going closer to the Arasaka guards.
"Vix! Razor! Go ahead and give 'em hell, Arasaka are future rivals!" Filmon said, clearly on a call with the two.
"Whatever you say Mon Mon."
"Yes, boss."
With the two responses the two jumped out of hiding, the hoods falling and revealing a light-skinned woman with a neon purple bob cut, and a white man with a shaved head and spiraling tattoos all over his muscular body.
"Wanna do the honors Razor?" Vix asked, smiling as the Arasaka guards pointed their weapons at them.
With a grunt Razor reached behind his back, revealing a huge rifle.
With a squeeze of the trigger, the gun's bullets roared out, flying through the air and cutting down the Arasaka guards who had been trying to kill Ares.
"And I'll..." Vix said, stepping forward and throwing a bunch of little silver discs out as the fires of the cars raged. "Clean it all up."
The discs stopped mid-air, a silver wave flowing out from all of them, forming a dome around the area just as the car's all exploded.
The dome condensed, containing all the explosions and damage before the discs touched each other and the wreckage disappeared.
"Haha, it worked better than I thought," Vix said with a smirk, looking at Razor, who strapped his gun to his back once again.
"Ahh... I'm sure that by now you know why I came here, and what I want from you, so I won't waste my time asking," Filmon said to Ares, who looked shocked at the performance from Filmon's companions.
"Kid, what happened to you? And where'd you find monsters like that in night city?" Ares asked, looking at Filmon nonchalantly as his two companions walked back.
"Whaddya think Mon Mon? Was I hot when I stopped all that wreckage!" The woman asked, getting uncomfortably close to Filmon, smiling, and looking up at him.
Her leather jacket was open, leaving nothing to the imagination as her tank top could barely contain her breasts. She purposely refused to wear a bra despite her clothing.
"Yes Vix, you did good," Filmon said, focusing on Ares as he lightly shoved her off of him.
The two months had not been a waste. He had decided if he was going to be a corpo, he couldn't start off weak. He'd taken any job possible, making sure to use fake names each time.
He'd gained quite a bit of money, and it was time to start phase two of his plan.
For two whole months, he thought about what kind of corporation he wanted to be, and that was when it finally hit him.
The Mafia.
Good in public with crime going on in the background, it was no different than any of the other megacorporations around.
He decided his corporation would have many different things to be a part of. Info, Weapons, security, drugs, cyberware, the works.
If it made money they'd do it.
"So what?" Ares asked, leaning against the building as he sent off the solo he'd been working with. "You got a job for me or something?"
"Precisely," Filmon answered quickly, his smile widening as he stepped toward Ares. "But not any more of that silly street work, I mean a real job, I want you to be one of my executives... You've been in the streets long enough to have a little influence, so you can gather intel for me, it'll be little things, what drugs are popular, new edge runners, jobs going on around town... I guess you're blacklisted huh? Well, we can figure that out..."
Ares looked at Filmon like he was crazy. "You want me to work with you? Giving intel on what happens around here? How much is the pay?"
Ares was sold, if Filmon was serious, and had a nice salary for him, he didn't mind doing basically what he already did, except he'd be paid for it now.
Filmon thought about it for a bit before finally deciding on a price. "We'll start small, 3,000 a week should suffice for a month or two, if we survive past that I'll up it to 15,000 a week, plus you get retirement, health and dental benefits, how's that sound?"
Ares wanted more, but 3,000 a week was more than he was getting paid for jobs anyway, so he held out his hand. "Alright let's shake on it."
Filmon looked at the hand with an almost disgusted expression. "I have... A better idea."
Pulling a piece of paper out of his inventory, Filmon held it out to the man. "A contract, should you betray me, reveal any secrets of the company, or do anything that may harm the company without being ordered to... Your life is mine."
Ares looked at Filmon's expression, glancing fearfully at his companions, who just stood in the back... Menacingly.
"Alright, I won't do ya in haha... No more backdoors for me," Ares answered, pulling out a pen and signing the line at the bottom of the paper.
"In that case... Welcome to Horizon Enterprises Ares, I look forward to working with you...
...
Filmon, Vix, and Razor walked into the small warehouse where they usually stayed. Razor immediately went to the workshop bench to fix his weapons while Vix jumped on the couch, throwing her jacket off and looking at Filmon.
"Would you like to join~"
"Nope," Filmon said, walking past the couch to his section of the warehouse, closing the curtains made out of sheets for privacy.
Vix smiled at the man's response and turned around, sitting down on the couch, grabbing a remote, and turning on the TV. The news channel was playing some sort of infomercial for a new game console.
With his two companions distracted, Filmon took the time to look at The Game.

He stared at the quest for a bit, lost in thought. He had 3 executives, plans for a company, better standing in the world than when he'd first arrived.
He'd done a lot in two months, but it didn't feel like much.
He felt empty inside, something that only happened every once in a while. It was a feeling of being hollowed out, of nothingness where there should be something. It was a feeling that made him want to give up everything and run away from the world.
"Stop being such a pussy, these things take time..." Filmon whispered to himself as he lay on his little mat on the floor. 'I'm closer than I was yesterday.'
...
The day after he had hired Ares, Filmon was at his meeting with a realtor.
"Hmm... I mean, it's better than a warehouse, but I don't know if it's right for business..." He said, looking at the two-story building.
It was in a nice spot, right in the middle of the city, it'd be hard to miss. The only problem was that it was an apartment building.
He had planned to get into the landlord business late on when he could afford multiple houses. For now though, he needed a place to work with his executives and also have people come to when they needed something.
He'd decided they'd start with information services. People could come to them and hire them to find out anything they wanted. They'd basically be private investigators. He'd make sure they would know anything and everything, and their customers would be 100% satisfied with their findings.
Besides that, he would have Vix start researching new ways for tech and cyberware. She already had her silver discs that could condense large messes into a tiny ball and keep it there, if she created new tech, and they mass-produced and sold to other corporations, it was a free ticket to the top.
"Alright, I'll buy it," He said as he looked at the realtor.
300,000 wasn't a terrible price, they were just starting out. As he mentally noted how much money had been spent starting up the company, as well as signing the necessary paperwork, Filmon had Vix and Razor move in.
There was a large living space on the first story, so that would be the main work area, and upstairs would be where they lived.
It was enough for each of them to have their own room, and once he sectioned everything off in the bottom floor, renovated the outside, and started advertising Horizon enterprises to the local people, they'd be in business.
A few hours later there was a knock on the door.
"Welcome to Horizon Enterprises!" He shouted gleefully, looking at Ares's large form in the doorframe.
"Damn kid, I was actually expecting this to all be one silly little dream, you intend to become a corpo?" Ares asked, clearly disgusted by the idea.
"It's just an honest man's way of living, working hard for their money, that's the American dream!" Filmon said with a smile, clearly joking as Ares nodded, looking at the empty building.
"Well... I already signed the contract so it's whatever, but you're gonna have to do more than buy a building, I hope you know what you're doing..." Ares said before excusing himself to look around.
"Ah, if only you knew Ares If only you knew."
The next day Vix and Razor moved in. Vix was dressed casually, wearing a tight black tank top, and jeans. Razor stayed in his leather jacket with a bunch of sewn patches all over it, and his usual cargo pants.
"I know it's not much, but it's the best we can afford right now..." Filmon stopped his words as he saw the looks on his companion's faces.
"Boss, ever since I lost my family, the streets have been my home, I didn't think I'd ever sleep in a bed again, please don't downplay your achievements... I thank you for hiring me," Razor said, bowing his head a bit before going to find his room, taking just one small backpack that had everything he owned.
"Ah yeah, I forgot haha..." Filmon said awkwardly as he looked back at Vix, surprised as she kissed his cheek.
"I keep forgetting you're still just a kid, stop being so hard on yourself yeah?" Vix said, going quickly to find her own room, she had two duffle bags full of scrap metal, wires, batteries and basically anything else you could think of that had something related to technology.
"Being so hard on myself?" Filmon repeated, "I'm not being as tough on myself as I should," He finished, looking at the table he had placed in the middle of the room.
It was covered with five high stacks of paper. These were his flyers, he was going to hang them all up around the city with his number and the address of their new corp building.
Horizon Enterprises would be hard work, but no matter what he'd do it, he'd make sure it worked, even if it took him years to finish the world quest and his main quest, he'd finish it...
Filmon set off into the city, all the papers placed in his inventory until he needed them.
Around every 50 steps, he'd put three flyers up, it was a good way to advertise things when you had no real influence.
After the sun had gone down Filmon finally hung the last Flyer in the outskirts of the city.
"Hah, a pest is hard at work trying to sell his business?" A voice said behind him as he turned, looking at the small group of eight.
"Ugh... Reyes how have you been buddy?" Filmon said nicely, seeing the fixer walking toward him with seven cybered out men holding large guns.
"Fucking Nocker," The fixer, Muamar Reyes said, using the fake name Filmon had used when taking the job.
"Ah, come on all I did was steal a little net link, that's not even a big deal-"
Filmon stopped talking as the men around Reyes raised their guns, pointing them at him as Reyes stepped forward.
"It's not about the net link, it's about respect, you think you can just steal from me? I'm the blood of Night City, you really thought you could take what is mine?"
He was now face to face with Filmo.
"Uhhh... Yeah."
Filmon grabbed the man's shoulder, smirking as the mantis blade burst from his arm.
"Yo lackeys, I'll kill this guy right here if you don't put those silly toys away," Filmon said, but he wasn't that confident.
"You couldn't even if you tried," Reyes said, raising a gun to point it at Filmon's head.
Filmon still smiled though, his heart racing. He'd started to get used to the thrill, it reminded him of all the heists he'd been on with the Caprione family, the danger aspect, it felt the exact same.
"Yeah... But I would," Filmon said, jerking his head forward and jumping, kicking his legs off the wall and forcing Reyes down to the ground.
"What the-" Reyes yelled as Filmon rolled on the ground, bursting off and soaring at one of the closest men with both Mantis blades out.
The man dropped instantly, his body sliced in half like a piece of paper.
"Oops, now there's only six Reyes..."
Filmon jumped at another as all the men started shooting.
Quickly jumping up, the bullets ripped the man, his cyber ware seemed to be more focused on offense than defense, and he stood no chance against the bullets.
"I guess we're going to have to do this the old-fashioned way!" Filmon said in the air, smiling as he dropped right down on another man, slicing his body in half.
The thing about the mantis blades was that he had started with them being top quality. The system allowed them to get better and better with each level, so as he upgraded them, they got sharper, stronger, faster, everything.
Now that he'd gotten the hang of things, Filmon was starting to cut through people like butter, even with their cyber enhancements.
"Reyes, we should just end it here yeah? No point in continuing, if you ever need to find something out just call 1 800-Horizon! I'll even give you a family discount."
With those words Filmon dashed off through the alleys, leaving Reyes on the floor and his hired men in shock.
"That kid... Is fucking phsycho."
Several days passed after the incident, and Filmon had finally finished all the renovations to the building.
They had a huge sign hanging out front that read "Horizon Enterprises" And smaller ones in front of the building with Filmon's face on it reading. "Shoot for the Horizon!"
All in all, he was happy with the state of the building.
They had sectioned the bottom floor off, covering up the kitchen and making a waiting room, meeting room, and 3 cubicles for each of them.
Ares was in charge of the CyberSec Nexus, a sub-section in Horizon Enterprise that focused on information of all things, private, public, news, cybertechnology breakthroughs, everything you wanted found out you'd meet with Ares for.
Razor and Vix were still working on their subsections, but Filmon had faith they would figure it out and bring a lot of business to the company.
"There are no customers..." Ares said, staring at Filmon blankly as he sat in his cubicle, wearing his usual attire and looking out of place.
"Yet, there's a yet at the end of that sentence Ares, Horizon will be able to compete with everyone else by next december, that gives us a year, you just need to have faith," Filmon said, smiling as he glanced in the waiting room.
No one.
"Boss, I think I know what I can bring to the company... As you know I don't really agree with this whole corporation thing, but if it is what you want then I will work hard at it-"
"Damn Razor, save me the speech, you are being way too serious about this whole thing," Filmon said, waving his hand as he looked away in emberrasament. Razor was 32 years old, it didn't make sense for him to be so respectful around Filmon.
"I'm sorry boss, I guess I got caught up in the moment, I mean, you saved me, I will make sure that Horizon becomes the number one-"
"You're doing it again," Filmon interrupted. "Just tell me your idea, I've been looking forward to it for a while now, Ares sucks at infotech advertising so he has no customers... Yet."
Razor nodded, sending a message to Filmon.
"Think Arasaka, but with less of their corrupt behavior, my division will focus on security for the company, as well as security for those in Night City, we'll be much more affordable than Arasaka, and I'll make sure each of my men are highly trained and equipped with the best weapons we can afford."
Filmon had mostly predicted this, but he didn't think Razor would be so passionate about the project.
When he had met Razor, the man had been on the brink of death, only hanging on with sheer will. He just couldn't ignore someone in need and took him in, feeding him and basically nursing him back to a regular health.
When Razor came to and could actually form coherent sentences, he had thanked Filmon and promised himself to the boy.
So here they were.
"Hmm I like it, let's call it... The Reaper Division," Filmon said, mentally noting that as Razor nodded.
"I expect you to have at least ten people able to perform by January, that gives you two weeks, I expect results."
Razor nodded and immediately left the building.
"Ahh... Then what about Vix?" Filmon asked out loud, calling her as he sat in one of the guest room chairs.
"Yo," She answered.
"So, Razor just went off to work on his part of Horizon, have you got an idea for your's yet?" Filmon asked, leaning back into the chair and closing his eyes.
"Of course, I have an idea, we made it together already... But if you mean actual results, no, not yet."
It was a bit disappointing to hear, but Filmon just sighed and nodded. "Alright, just keep working at it, once you figure it out I'll start seeing if we can patent your invention and start selling it... Also, come out of your room for dinner later yeah?"
Vix was quiet for a second, "Aww, are you worried about me?" She asked, her avatar smiling in the corner.
"Yes."
With that, Filmon hung up and opened his eyes just in time to see someone walk into the building.
"Welcome to Horizon Enterprises! I assume you're here for our infotech services? We can talk pricing and the job right now as there is no line!"
The woman jumped back, looking at Filmon as if he was crazy.
He didn't care though, his first customer.
As he calmed down and sent the woman to Ares, a message from the game came up on his screen.
Objective one complete!
Objective one reward unlocked!

'The Game going my way for once? Hm, that's weird,' Filmon thought as the woman rushed out of the office, looking rather distraught.
Filmon hurried into Ares's cubicle. "What'd you do? No way you lost us our first customer!" He yelled angrily, ready to go off on Ares.
"30,000 in total, 10 upfront and the rest of it after the job is complete, she wants information on her husband, she thinks he's having an affair... I'll get my guys on this right away," Ares said, standing tall in front of his cubicle.
Filmon's anger turned into glee as he jumped the large man. "Haha! Thank god!" He yelled as he tackled the man.
"Just wait Ares, this is the start, I'll use the money to start running ads on television, then we'll blow up immensely!"
Horizon Enterprises had finally taken its first step toward becoming a Megacorporation...
