There weren't many things she could remember of her past before her 'rebirth' as the true original Angel of Clemency. Number Zero. Named/Codenamed Azrael by the man known only as The Sage. When The Sage first encountered Azrael, she was broken beyond normal recovery. But not unnatural recovery. The Sage saved her life by turning her broken body of pure flesh and blood into a body of flesh, blood and machinery. A cyborg. More specifically the prototype for a new generation of combat ready cyborgs.
The fact that she was the prototype was evidenced by the inclusion of various features of her mechanical body, most of which weren't included in later 'models'. Such as a trio of systems designed for mobility in her mechanical legs, namely a set of four independently aimable grappling claw-launchers powered by small but very powerful electromagnets located in Azrael's mechanical thighs and hips, small but powerful rocket engine mechanisms in the calves and a set of 'omnidirectional mobility spheres' in her shoe-like feet (which weren't high-heels), basically a set of built in rollerblades with a pair of balls instead of wheels in her mechanical feet. Why The Sage chose to give a few of Azrael's 'sisters' mechanical legs/feet with built in high heels was something that Number Zero would probably never understand. Her mechanical arms didn't really come with any special features outside of a pair of hidden compartments that contained a 'miniature atmospheric force field generator', basically a super high tech diving helmet, and a kind of handheld remote hacking device/personal holographic computer nicknamed 'a Cryptographic Sequencer' by a certain few of the Heirs of Aida's tech-people, or as Azrael and a few of her 'sisters' called them, techies. The fingertips of Azrael's mechanical hands were a bit more claw-like and functioned like built in touch screen pens, but they weren't particularly special otherwise.
It wasn't however because of something that The Sage did with Azrael that gave her her name and a secondary title, The Angel of Thundering Death. It was her weapon and her incredible skill with it. A High Voltage Shock Scythe with a built-in High Impact Electromagnetic Projectile Launcher System (a railgun in layman's terms), named the Baraqiel. On top of being difficult and dangerous to wield, being not only a Scythe (something not originally intended for combat) and having a highly electrified blade, the Baraqiel's built-in railgun featured not only a high level of recoil but also a very sensitive triggering system, making said railgun go off very easily, but Azrael managed to master her weapon and even make use of the perceived shortcoming that was the hair trigger firing system to her advantage, mainly by using the heavy recoil of the railgun to enhance Baraqiel's cutting power, which was already being enhanced by the dangerous electrical current running through the blade of the Scythe.
Unlike Angel of Clemency Number One through Four however, Number Zero worked most of the time alone, outside the usual command structure of both the Heirs of Aida and Angel of Clemency. Usually aimlessly roaming the region of Aesperia, mostly by riding the high-tech hoverbike she claimed as hers after finding it in a ruin and having it repaired by the techies, the Arena Meteor, or by foot. Occasionally answering calls for backup from various Heirs of Aida squads if she happened to be in the area. That and she occasionally found the chatter over the comms amusing, especially when it was clear a grunt or two had forgotten to turn their mics off. Only returning to the Heirs of Aida when officially ordered to or when she needed to get her mechanical body parts repaired and maintained. Despite having been diagnosed with amnesia, there was something inside Azrael's (metaphorical) heart that made her reluctant to follow the ideals of the Heirs of Aida held as an organization. Azrael's 'younger sister' (even though the woman was in her mid-to-late twenties and Azrael was in her early-to-mid teens), Angel of Clemency Number One: Valkyrie, speculated that her 'older sister's reluctance to follow orders and conforming to command structures was a possible remnant from Azrael's previous life, whoever she was before becoming 'Azrael' and her amnesia.
When one of the rather rare calls for the group known as Angel of Clemency to assemble, the location of their gathering was not one of the usual locations where they would gather. It was at the top of the Tower of Fantasy of the Aesperia region. While Number Two through Four opted to stay by The Sage's side, going up from the inside of the aforementioned Tower, Number Zero and One chose to make their way up the Tower of Fantasy from the outside, Valkyrie making use of her flight engine and Azrael making use of her grappling claws to climb the Tower at her pace. Fast enough that neither Number Two, Frigg, nor The Sage would complain, but slow enough that Azrael was able to enjoy the view. And she wasn't just referring to the landscape below, but also the fact that she got a very good view of the individual referred to only as either The Executor or The Wanderer's skintight jumpsuit-clad behind for a while until The Wanderer went back inside the Tower of Fantasy. Angel of Clemency and a cyborg or not, Azrael was definitely a teenager who was only somewhat picky about who she would consider dating when it came to physical traits such as gender, even if she seemed to have a thing for particularly… gifted and conventionally attractive people.
By the time Azrael finally reached the top of the Tower of Fantasy, the place was a mess. Not in the least helped by the weird (she could only wildly guess as she had had difficulties paying attention to the techies 'science' lessons) space-time… thing at the center of the room that was definitely pulling her towards it. The only thing keeping her from getting sucked in being the grappling claws being used as anchors, and they were starting to lose their grip. Which didn't really take long as the grappling claws finally lost their grip when the space-time thing grew more and more unstable, eventually sucking Azrael close enough to get caught in the resulting explosion that sent the Angel of Clemency across space-time to a completely different location where she could barely hear someone shouting something about 'arresting momentum' over the rushing wind produced from free falling from a great height before losing consciousness.
