Hello everyone. This is a me talking to you chapter. I typically do not like to speak directly to you in this way and it will be a rare occasion when I do so, but I would like to set some ground expectations so that you know what you're getting into. I plan for this to be a lengthy story and I would like for anyone who plans to dedicate their time to it to not leave confused or disappointed - at least in regards to expectations. I cannot do anything about my writing and storytelling aside from slowly improving.

On that note please expect the first few chapters to likely be of a lower quality than the later ones. It's not for lack of trying, but I have not written anything more than notes at work for the last several years. It will take some time to get back into the groove of things as it were.

Additionally and MOST IMPORTANTLY: This story will focus on only ONE OC. There will be a multitude of other OCs throughout the story and some may be recurring characters; however, there will be none that take center stage for more than a chapter or two besides the main character. This means that, regardless of how the story goes, the main character will NOT be joining a team of OCs, nor will he fall in love with another OC. There may be team-ups, romantic interests, or suspicious persons, but there will NOT be a secondary main character OC, much less a third or fourth.

Canonical characters to both series (but primarily RWBY) will have plenty of spotlight shown on them and will be sources of frequent and constant interactions, both positive and negative.

THIS RULE DOES NOT FULLY APPLY TO VILLAINS. There will be OC villains and they will have major parts to play in this story.

This story will feature a blend of both Remnant and the world of Bloodborne. The lore for RWBY will be altered in many ways, though some may be more obvious than others. Characters are, for the most part, the same as canon, with some key differences that will not be important for quite some time.

Bloodborne is a video game and as such all that we know about it is extremely video-gamey. There will be liberties taken with translating gameplay mechanics into a story format - primarily in the use of blood to enhance and heal oneself. Most other aspects of the bloodborne formula are not present and others may be more subtle or longer-reaching than you'd expect.

Finally, when treading familiar ground I can become very bored very quickly - therefore I try to stay away from doing so. There will be plenty of recognizable scenes, moments, fights, and more from both series (primarily RWBY), but I will NOT be going through each episode of the series and adding a new character who just "Oohs" and "Aahs" at what's happening around him. His presence and the presence of Bloodborne encroaching on the world of Remnant will change drastic things, and the changes will become more and more pronounced the further in the story and the more things have been affected.

Finally, please leave reviews with ideas or wants for how you'd like the story to progress. I have an outline and an idea but they are malleable and many have better ideas than I.
