Two years later

"I'm pregnant," Brooke said, presenting the pregnancy test to her husband Jeremy.

"This is great news," Jeremy said with an excited gleam in his eyes. He hugged Brooke tightly kissing her passionately.

"Well, it is around that time," Harper said, once her sister and Jeremy had broken apart. "I'm actually surprised I'm not pregnant yet, considering how much we've been practicing. I'm very happy for you Brooke, Jeremy."

"Thank you, we've been expecting it for some time, at least the last few months," Jeremy said grinning widely.

"You'll be pregnant next sis," Brooke said smiling.

"Hopefully, not for the next few months, as we don't want to going to labor at the same time. Of course, I've always had twins before, so if I do get pregnant I'll likely give birth first if I do conceive in the next few days."

"You and Spencer never had a child though at least not naturally," Jeremy said, "It's quite possible you and my brother will only have a singleton."

"Yes, we have to remember that the time that I had twins and one turned out to by your brother's," Harper mentioned. "So it's quite possible it will happen again if Ilithyia is kind."

"That was done naturally," Jeremy said understanding immediately what his sister-in-law was getting at.

"Yes, because it was around the time for me to get pregnant naturally, about the same time I met Spencer. I was within two or three years of my time to conceive without any help from an outside technology. Me being able to get pregnant naturally wasn't as close as it is this time, but still, well within a reasonable timeframe of any marriage. Not everybody gets pregnant within the first year or two of being married."

This was true Jeremy knew so he nodded. Trying to force yourself to conceive in a certain amount of time often just stopped you from getting pregnant at all because of stress and expectation from other members of the family.

"Or you and Aaron will if you and Spencer happen to get pregnant first with twins," Brooke added, continuing the previous conversation topic, that Jeremy had sidetracked.

"We know," Harper told them. "We know it's quite possible that we'll only have one, with either Aaron or Spencer. I'll probably have twins the first time and possibly a singleton after that we could have two sets of twins a couple years apart of course, but we'll see. If I get three then I know I'm incredibly lucky that the goddess allows a female Immortal with two males mates to get pregnant twice."

"It's only fair really," Brooke suggested. "It wouldn't be fair to allow you or any female Immortal with two males for mates to only get pregnant by one of them. I mean if dad can get all his mates pregnant, well, it wouldn't be fair to not allow a female to get pregnant twice if she has more than one mate of the same gender."

"That's a rather good point," Aaron who had been listening said coming into the kitchen. "Congratulations from me to Brooke, Jeremy. Your brother will be thrilled that he'll soon have another niece or nephew."

"Thank you, we're very happy about this," Brooke said beaming.

"We were expecting it to happen, but yes, we're very happy about this," Jeremy said also smiling. "I'm going to miss the days when we had so many children to look after, but I know this is the way it has to be."

"Still, I'm sure Harper will soon be pregnant to and then we'll have at least two children in the house, but probably three," Aaron said.

"That's true," Jeremy agreed grinning at the thought.

"Dad will be thrilled when you tell him you're pregnant, mom and the aunts to," Harper said.

"Yes, they will, but I think that we're going to keep it to ourselves for a little while," Brooke said smiling.

"They knew you were due to get pregnant again though, so it won't really be a surprise when you announce it," Harper said.

"Probably not," Brooke admitted.

"Where is my brother anyway?" Jeremy asked Aaron and Harper.

"He should be down pretty soon. You know how hard he is to wake up in the morning," Aaron said.

"That's true," Jeremy agreed.

"See, I'm not the only person that likes to sleep late," Brooke said teasingly.

"The difference here is, he doesn't sleep till noon," Aaron said dryly. "He wakes up after a couple cups of coffee."

"I never have liked coffee, except from Starbucks, but then that's not just regular old coffee, is it?" said Brooke.

"You can buy an excellent cup there if you want just plain black coffee, though I admit it's cheaper to make it at home," Spencer said coming into the kitchen his eyes half closed.

Aaron handed him a cup of already prepared coffee without comment. He knew his brother's habits by now.

Spencer mumbled a thank you as he took a large gulp. He looked a little more awake after he had finished the cup. Harper poured him another without comment, and Spencer thanked her absently as he took a sip.

"Well you certainly look more awake, Spencer," Jeremy told his brother amused.

Spencer had always been hard to wake up in the morning. His brother was much like Brooke in that way, though at least he didn't sleep until noon like his wife tended to do whenever she could. He hadn't drunk coffee as a kid of course, because it would've stunted his growth, but once he was up and active that had woken him up, though more slow acting coffee did. By the time school started he was awake enough to pay attention to his classes.

"I am," Spencer answered simply.

"You need to congratulate your brother and Brooke," Harper told Spencer, once she was sure that her mate was thoroughly awake.

"Oh, why?" Spencer asked.

"You weren't here when they announced it, but they're pregnant," Aaron told Spencer smiling.

"Oh! Congratulations Jeremy, Brooke. I'm very happy for you," Spencer said grinning now.

"Thank you big brother," Jeremy said smiling. "We're very excited about this upcoming birth. Now, one of you just needs to get Harper pregnant, so that we'll have either two or three children to look after," Jeremy said smiling.

"Probably three, but we'll see," Harper said.

"It'll soon be time to call on Graciela's expertise," Brooke said. "I doubt I'm more than eight weeks or so pregnant and it might not even be that much."

"You've got to be at least a month to six weeks," Harper said, "as you wouldn't be throwing up otherwise."

"We'll let Graciela determine that," Jeremy said.

"That's wise," Aaron said. "She's the expert after all."

"Mom will be thrilled once she hears about this," Spencer said.

"That's very true," Brooke completely agreed. "We'll have to tell her when father isn't home, as we wouldn't want him to overhear our conversation."

"Considering we left Las Vegas, because he had started to notice that we hadn't aged, no, we don't want him to know that Brooke is pregnant," Aaron said. "It might've been the goddess that made Spencer's and Jeremy's father finally wake up to the fact that his sons and their spouses looked the same 7 decades later, but still, we need to be careful when we inform all the relevant parties."

"We will be," Jeremy promised. "I know what my father's reaction will be very well, so no, we don't want him finding out that he's about to have another grandchild. Brooke, not to mention Harper should be way too old by now to reproduce."

Jeremy actually shuddered dramatically, as he imagined his father's likely reaction.

"I have to agree with my brother here. Our father isn't one to just let his suspicions go," Spencer said, as he worked on his third cup of coffee. "That's why all of us had to leave Las Vegas in such a hurry, even though I, at least, wanted to stay."

"Me too," Jeremy readily agreed with his brother. "At least my bookshop is in good hands and I know that Michelle will expand and make it into a chain if she wants."

"Yes, you made a good choice, as to which of your children you wanted to take over once you retired," Harper said.

"Well, she was one of the ones that most wanted it," Jeremy shrugged. "Not that there weren't other candidates. Still, I felt that Michelle was the most suitable candidate."

Harper fixed breakfast, as the five of them continued to talk and soon it was on the table.

"Let's just eat and Brooke can contact Graciela after breakfast," Harper suggested gently.

The others took her suggestion onboard, because it was very sensible after all, so they started eating, even as they continued to talk quietly. All of them were looking forward to having a child in their lives again, as it had been about 70 years after all.

"Well, this is indeed great news," Diana said over the vid screen smiling in happiness at the news. "I'm very happy for you Brooke and Jeremy. It's too bad that I likely won't get to see my new grandchild."

"We thought maybe you could come and visit if you can get away from dad without making him suspicious," Jeremy said.

"I don't know," Diana said looking thoughtful. "Will isn't doing too well, which isn't surprising actually considering his general attitude and also his diet, not to mention he never exercises. All those things matter to someone's health unless they are like you. He had a small stroke and the doctor warned him to be very careful as the next one could kill him. The doctor believes he's had several strokes over the last year that were so small that they might not have been to noticeable."

"While I'm sorry to hear that your husband isn't doing too well, you reap what you sow," Brooke said with little sympathy because she didn't like the Senior Reid very much, mostly because of his attitude towards his sons. "My sister told me about a conversation she had with Spencer and Aaron before Jeremy and I arrived. About what you reap according to how you live your life. You have always been there for your children and grandchildren and did everything a mother should for her family, you eat things that are good for you that help you maintain your level of health, which is excellent for someone your age. You maintain a positive attitude, while your husband is nearly always negative, suspicious and can't just accept his family for who they are, wanting them to turn out more like him instead of individuals."

"That's definitely Will," said Diana in understanding. "He might've gotten better, just before his grandchildren came along but that doesn't mean his personality wasn't already set."

"From what I've heard women tend to live longer than man anyway, at least mostly," Jeremy said. "Not that some men don't beat the odds, just that women tend to be healthier. They wash their hands when they use the restroom for example, which only helps them remain healthy, while a lot of men do not."

"Women also know a good cry helps release any negative feelings so they don't develop an ulcer or other medical problems that come from keeping their feelings all bottled up," Brooke added.

"That's a good point," Diana admitted. "So when are you due?"

"In about six and a half months more or less," Brooke said. "That's what Graciela said anyway. I was already nearly 2 months pregnant before I started noticing the symptoms."

"And then you needed a little time to absorb the news," Diana said knowingly.

"You know me too well," Brooke said blushing a little.

"You're no different from other mortal women in this case Brooke," Diana told her kindly. "A lot of them take a few weeks to absorb the fact that they are indeed pregnant, especially if they've been trying for awhile to have a baby. I'll try to get away for a weekend once the baby is born, maybe say, I'm going with my lady friends on some kind of retreat. I doubt Will, will care, but that doesn't mean we don't need to be careful. We don't want him getting suspicious."

"Definitely not," Jeremy agreed. "We all know exactly what dad's reaction would be, if he found out Brooke was pregnant this late in her life."

"So what about Harper?" Diana asked.

"Not yet, at least not as far as I know," Brooke said. "It will happen, when it happens."

"That's a good attitude," Diana said approvingly. "Yes, it will happen in its own time and there's no point in stressing about it, as that will only prevent conception."

"Well, technically, this is only my first chance to have a child, while Harper has had numerous children over the centuries with Aaron. I know I was pregnant several times, with IVF back when I first met Jeremy, but really this is the first time I've ever had one naturally, without the help of outside technology."

"That's true," Diana said, "and I suppose that would make a difference. I've got to go though Will, will be home soon. Let me know how your pregnancy goes and when your sister is pregnant if she and Spencer don't do that themselves."

"We will," Jeremy promised. "I hope you can get away long enough to meet your new grandchild when they arrive."

"I'll see how it goes," Diana said. "To tell you the truth I'm really getting too to old to travel much, but still, I really want to meet my new grandchild when they finally get here."

"I hope you can, though I do understand that traveling at your age isn't easy," Brooke said. "We'll call you soon with a progress report."

"I'll be waiting then," Diana said smiling before she cut the connection.

"I really hope mom can come and meet her new grandchild," Jeremy said staring at the now blank vid screen.

"I hope she can to, but that might not be possible and not just because of age, as Diana is nearly 150, but because of your father," Brooke told Jeremy.

"Yes, she is getting on in years," Jeremy agreed. "She won't be around for more than another 20 years, possibly 30."

"Let's not worry about it right now, as we still have awhile before she finally passes away," Brooke said. "I'll miss her when she does die, as I'm quite fond of your mother. She's a very good woman."

"The best," Jeremy agreed finally smiling.

"I'm pregnant," Harper announced several weeks later. She held up a pregnancy test, which had a + sign on one end. "I didn't really need this, considering I know the symptoms by now and I can't get sick, but still, it did confirm the pregnancy for me."

"Well, this is indeed good news," Spencer grinned happily.

"Yes, it is," Aaron said smiling. "You know that your sister and her husband will be very happy for us."

"Yeah, they will and so will everybody else," Harper agreed.

"At least you aren't likely to go into labor at the same time as Brooke, because she is over four months ahead of your pregnancy," Spencer said. "Graciela can only handle one woman in labor at a time, so I'm actually glad that Harper didn't get pregnant till now."

"That's a good point," Aaron admitted.

"Yes, it is, but Spencer is usually right," Harper said.

"So want to go tell Jeremy and Brooke that we're now expecting a child?" Spencer asked.

"Yeah, we should and also all the other relative parties," Harper agreed. "There's no point of keeping it a secret, as I'm sure the family is expecting me to announce a pregnancy any day now. Besides, unlike Brooke I've had children naturally before. This will be the first natural pregnancy for my sister as the other time was with outside technology due to the circumstances at the time."

"That's true," Aaron agreed. "It's no wonder why Jeremy and Brooke wanted to keep it to themselves for a few weeks. It gave them time to realize that they were going to soon have a child of their own. The first one where Brooke got pregnant naturally with no outside help."

"Well, let's go tell the others," Spencer said smiling. "So whose child do you think it is mine or Aaron's and do you think you are going to have just a singleton or twins?"

"Really, this is uncharted territory for us," Harper told Spencer kissing his cheek. "Yes, Aaron and I have had children before and so have you and I, but like Brooke and Jeremy that was by using an outside technology, mainly to stop your dad from demanding that we get a divorce."

"He would have too," Spencer snorted in contempt.

"There's simply no way to tell who the child belongs to or even if it's twins until we see Graciela, so you're just going to have to be patient," Aaron told Spencer in an understanding tone.

"I'll try to be," Spencer promised. "But really this is possibly the second child I'm going to have by my mate naturally, so I have every right to be excited, even if it has happened once before. That one time Harper got pregnant naturally and one baby me was mine and the other was Aaron's."

"He has every reason to be excited, Aaron," Harper told him and Aaron nodded.

"Yes he does," Aaron agreed, "and so did Brooke and Jeremy a few weeks ago, though in that case we knew who the father was and that Brooke was likely only carrying one. In this case though, it could be either of ours."

"Or both of yours, like that one time," Harper added.

"That's true," Spencer agreed more calmly.

All three of them headed downstairs immediately to tell the other two people in the house the good news, knowing that Brooke and Jeremy would be excited for them.
