A fae's boredom was a terrible thing for some and great entertainment for many including other fae. The most famous displays of a fae's boredom are in which the royal bloodline decided to see what would come of the humans worshiping them like gods. They played the roles of the ancient Greek gods which allowed for them to make the first big changes in the world of the supernatural. The fae never informed the witches of the community or any of the other species of what they were doing at the time, so this resulted in many a follower or worshiper being of the supernatural variety to receive a blessing form their patron of choice. The most well-known being Aphrodite's blessed, Apollo's Blessed, Aries's blessed, Hera's blessed, Zeus's blessed and Hermes's blessed bloodlines; meaning that these families had specific magics blessed to their families pertaining to their god or goddess of choice. This went on for years until a witch by the name of Qetsiyah became envies of the attentions a fae prince whom she thought was a gifted witch was paying to her handmaiden. In her envy she concocted a plan and, in its enactment, along with the lies and deceit in the tales she spun along with the use of her own bloodline's blessing to help her plan along. She managed to separate the fae prince from his mate in which he was courting and in doing so Qetsiyah trapped him and used his mate as a anchor to another of her spells to keep both from being found by his family or anyone else who wished to awaken him.
Her actions triggered the fae's retreat into their realm but not before revoking her family blessing and placing a curse on her family line that would result in the many tragedies for the bloodline to come. Before her death Qetsiyah made sure that there would be no traces to lead the supernatural to realize the fae prince wasn't who she declared him to be and that all blessed bloodlines were killed except for the Aries bloodline as it would carry the curse of the fae prince's doppelganger. What she didn't know was that she missed a one bloodline due to how protective the god this fae portrayed since the gifts that showed in this line were rare even by fae standards. Centuries passed with the fae only showing up over the years to see if her spell had dimmed even to find a trace of the prince and his mate and to check up on the two bloodlines. on one such visit to check on his bloodline and a plea from one of its descendants who didn't think her husband was fertile which resulted in an older half-brother that only the mother knew about in the Summer's family. His name was Charlie and after his graduation from high school he took his mother's maiden name Swan who proceeded to marry Renee who wanted as far from Mystic falls and her Salvatore relatives as possible which resulted in Charlie accepting the of the Forks police department when they went to visit Washington on their honeymoon.
Renee did not even last two years in her marriage before she used and excuse of the weather and the small-town life before she took her then two-year-old daughter and divorced Charlie. Still wanting to have nothing to do with Mystic falls or her Salvatore family Renee took her mother's maiden name on her travels with her daughter Bella. Renee did try to stay in one place at first but that didn't last longer than three years because as she had no trouble informing her daughter Bella was not a normal child. There of course was nothing appearance wise wrong with her daughter no it was that the peculiarities seemed to appear in her frequent night terrors that Bella never remembered and her bizarre ability to comment on something and having it happen within hours of Bella saying something. This trait seemed to scare off any people Renee tried to befriend in the town and resulted in Renee's decision to allow Bella to be a test subject for new drugs just so Renee could have the excuse of medicine for her daughters' abnormalities.
At eight years old Bella was being allowed to see her father again mostly because Charlie had finally put his foot down with Renee and threatened to sue for custody. At the thought of losing the childcare checks Charlie was sending her Renee agreed to Bella getting to spend two weeks that summer with her father in forks while Renee decided they needed to move again. She figured having Bella out of the way for the move would make it easier on her. Within a day of being out from under her mother's thumb Bella had already mysteriously forgotten her "medicine" and for the first time in years did not live under a fog while she was awake. This of course didn't mean she had a personality shift when off the medicine mostly because due to the medicine and her quirks Bella had decided she did not in fact tolerate people well. This meant Bella opted to sit and read somewhere by herself and not interact with any one every teacher eventually gave up trying to force the issue and Charlie just viewed her a quiet shy kid who liked to read so he just left her to it.
On her third day visiting with Charlie that one of Bella's quirks began to act up she had a feeling that she needed to be somewhere but didn't quite know where that was and as the urge got stronger Bella started to see sun like shapes in things she looked at. By lunch time Bella could no longer ignore the urge and closed her book before looking around to figure out which way to go. With that thought her vision swam as an image of a tree on the edge of the backyard appeared before Bella was once again seeing her room. Getting up Bella opted not to put on shoes as she creeped down the stairs to see Charlie still taking his afternoon nap on the couch. Opening the back door Bella closed it quietly behind her before looking at the tree from her vision. Stepping off the porch and closer to the tree Bella could feel a shift in the air and as she looked around the tree to see what would have caused the change Bella noticed a very large ring around the tree. Feeling this was what her vision was about Bella stepped over the ring and noticed the immediate changes in her surroundings. Mainly that the tree looked healthier the grass was greener and there were flowers as the ring instead of mushrooms.
Looking up into the tree Bella noticed two people she hadn't seen before sitting in its branches though their ages and genders seemed to be rapidly changing as they talked to each other in a language she didn't understand. Bella decided to act like she hadn't seen them before spinning in the spot and sitting down on the ground under the tree and relaxing as she released the urge, she had all day had lessened as she sat down.
Bella sat under the tree until Charlie called her inside for dinner in which Bella noticed that her appetite had increased since yesterday, she also noticed a few more differences the next day in which she remembered some of what she dreamed about. In the past year Bella had noticed that she was slowly starting to remember different bits and pieces of her nightly terrors' things like men in white coats injecting her with different drugs and one in particular clear concoction in a syringe called venom that left her feeling like lava was coursing through her veins. That night though it was different she remembered being in the circle again but this time she wasn't alone she just couldn't make out the figures that were with her and she was sure that in some of the dreams the location of the circle was not in Forks. Since her dreams had never steered her wrong before even if they were just feeling when she was smaller Bella got ready for the day and grabbed her book before heading back out to the circle and sitting under the tree she began to read where she had left off the day before. Two more days passed in this fashion Bella spending the whole day under the tree and in the circle and slowly feeling better over time. On the third day of her sitting in the circle with her book of choice Bella once again felt a change in the air around her as she sat quietly reading.
Hearing clothes ruffling on the ground as if someone was sitting down in front of her Bella slowly looked up from her book before meeting the eyes of a man who could pass as being Charlie's brother. This thought was just reinforced as he began to de-age right before her eyes and Bella had a feeling that she was going to be receiving an explanation about her quirks. The male gave her a small smile before he introduced himself by stating that he went by many names as did the rest of his family, stating that Bella could call him by the name he favored at present Mordred, since the other two names would call for too much attention at present though she was welcome to figure them out. He also explained that only a very small portion of the world could see the rings for what they were and that she was the only one on earth who was able to access the ring from the side that she did. He stated that when she was slightly older either himself or his mother would explain how that happened but that in the meantime, he and his family would be more than willing to help her in any way they could. As Bella and Mordred talked and Bella filled him in on her quirks, she did not realize that he was going to have fun introducing the girl to his mother seeing as his mother was the only other one who has the family gift strongly enough to see so far into the future. Every other version of the gift outside of their royal bloodline at its strongest could only see the outcomes of decisions and no further. He of course would wait until the end of her visit with Charlie before introducing the others because he just knew he would be fighting for his granddaughter's attention as soon as the introductions were finished.
It had been four years since that day and Bella was now twelve over the years Bella had learned several things about the gift or talent, she possessed belonged to the unseelie's royal bloodline and this gift had only been seen as strongly as she seemed to have it, since it continued to grow in strength as she got older, in one other member of the royal family. Her great grandmother, Queen Mab, or Morgana on days that she didn't feel like being reminded that she was in fact her great grandchild and not just her grandchild. This gift in the strength they had allowed the two of them to see not only into the future but also the present and into the past. This gift was one that could not be controlled in any way they would see what they would see either in their dreams on a constant loop or if they were awake, they could only hold off the vision for so long before they were forced to watch whatever it was their gift wanted to show them. Others of their bloodline like her grandfather and Queen Mab's twin brother Puck who served her Husband, King Oberon, as a faithful servant could only see the past or present in the form of being able to see the outcome of a decision. Bella was also starting to come into her fae magic which her family described as a much stronger version of witch magic and then some since witch were not able to shape shift like the fae could or completely control an elements when choosing to use them.
Renee in those four years had finally reached her limit on dealing with her daughter's unnaturalness according to what she was mumbling under her breath as she ushered Bella into the car and drive her to the airport. Renee had taken her to Mystic Falls and Bella was able to meet her mother's brother, Zack, and her father's two younger sisters the youngest being Jenna and the oldest being married, Miranda, Bella also got to meet her Aunt Miranda's family, her husband, Greyson, and her two kids Elena and Jeremy. Bella found it interesting that the kids where ten months apart in age, but she didn't point that out to the adults instead she sat down next to Jeremy who was drawing very well for an eight-year-old and proceeded to read the book she brought with her. As she read, she could feel a vision coming on shifting so that none of the adults could see her eyes Bella didn't stop the vision from happening her sight changed from seeing the living room she was in to seeing a white room with clear tarps and trays filled with syringes and bar cells farther down before she was once again looking at her book. Acting like she was still reading Bella tried to listen in to the conversation that Renee seemed to be having with Greyson in the dining room. Bella was able to make out the word's night terrors, vampires and never been told before her attention was pulled to her two aunts. Her Aunt Miranda was encouraging Elena to approach her daddy about going to get ice cream and her Aunt Jenna had wondered over towards her and was coaxing Jeremy to put away his art and to head towards the door as she grabbed her hand and pulled her along. Bella followed her aunts and cousins to the car as they headed to the grill for ice cream and Bella noticed her Aunt Miranda on the phone with someone as her cousins sang along to the radio, she didn't pay much attention to that as her thoughts swam. Her Aunt Jenna sat next to her as they waited for the ice cream to arrive talking about the different book series Bella had read. Bella's vision swam again, and she saw flashes of a raven outside the boarding house before she focused back on the discussion.
What Renee didn't know was that Charlie had voiced his concerns of his daughters treatment with his sisters and they had spoken to her brother Zack who had suspicions of his own from the phone calls with his sister that when she said she was bringing her daughter to meet them he decided to call a family member he swore never to call unless death was the only other option and from the rumors of Greyson's side job was true at council meetings, Zack was not taking that chance with his niece. When Miranda called him about what little he overheard before she got the kids out of the house, Zack knew he had made the right choice and that his oldest uncle would be arriving tomorrow though he made him promise to talk to his youngest niece before he acted on anything.
The next morning Bella skipped breakfast as she followed one of her urges and headed out the backdoor of the boarding house to the back garden as she came to a bench, Bella noticed a raven sitting on the branch of the tree. Sitting down Bella stared the animal down wondering what other secrets her visions were leading her too now. After a few minutes the raven gilded to the ground in front of her a fog rolled in and in a matter of minutes instead of a raven in front of her, there was a male with raven colored hair and icy blue eyes kneeling on the ground and as their eyes meet, he smirked in greeting. The following conversation, with who she came to know was Damon Salvatore, her uncle of a few generations was very informative. The debate on what to do about her mother and Uncle Greyson, which would be viewed from the window, by her Uncle Zack would entertain him for years to come. By the end the two came to a compromise on what to do her mother would be compelled to ignore anything supernatural in relation to Bella, they wouldn't realize until a year later in Renee's mind that meant almost everything when it came to her daughter with Damon showing up for surprise visits to make sure the compulsion stuck. Greyson would be held until all vervain was out of his system and with the help of his wife, he would forget the entire conversation involving Bella's quirks and instead be replaced with the memories of having a terrible cold for the week and being drugged on cold medicine for that visit. Bella after words would call her father and convince him that her two-week summer visits needed to be in Mystic Falls so she could both see him and the other members of her family.
Over the next six years Bella spent her time being raised by her fae side of her family and having her uncle Damon becoming her best friend even though she could tell that his humanity was not on in any of that time. Damon was the one to encourage her book obsession so much so that Bella was developing her own miniature library by age sixteen. Bella had also decided that she really did not like her cousin Elena and would spend a good portion of her time visiting helping her cousin Jeremy prank his sister and showing him how not to get caught. The compulsion on Renee worked so well that Bella only really had to worry about her when she wanted to show off to her boyfriends about how good of a mother she was. Just before Bella's senior year when Renee remarried Bella decided that it was time for her to live with her father and allow her mother to travel with her new stepfather and spend her last year of high school with her father before she traveled the world with Damon before picking a college to go to. If Bella had known how interesting her life was going to get with that simple decision or the resulting squeal that would be released in Forks because of the vision, it caused she would make it again in a heartbeat.
