Why did I make this thing?: I always had a special place in my heart for the Jimmy Neutron franchise and it's surprisingly charming characters, ever since I first got into it as a little boy growing up in the late 2000s. But even at that age, I thought that the movie (and especially the show) suffered from the fact that it tried way too hard to pander to little kids and didn't really have the courage to do anything more dark and serious. Like, pretty much every bad thing that happened in the movie happened due to the misguided idea that they needed to be toddler-friendly. (No suits in space, horrendously pathetic antagonists, etc.)
I am NOT saying that it needed to be as graphic as the following story written by me. With how brutal this thing is, there's like a 50/50 chance most general moviegoers would be turned off by it thinking it's too much. The main reason I'm doing it that way is because Hard R is just kinda my style, that's part of why I liked Netflix's Daredevil and Logan so much. What I AM saying is that it would've likely been a hundred times better if it were more like a PG-13 action blockbuster like Guardians of the Galaxy or Man of Steel or Transformers 2007. (VERY specifically the 2007 movie only. We don't speak of it's sequels) AKA a movie that would've been much more heavy than the G Rated movie we actually did get but still just barely safe enough for the kids to come along for the ride as well. (Imagine how hilarious it would be for Cindy to drop the obligatory PG-13 F-Bomb out of nowhere during it)
Anyway, y'all get my point, and if this FanFiction community is anything to go off of, I'm DEFINITELY not the only one who feels this way. Anyway another reason why I'm not just making that PG-13 Jimmy Neutron story myself is because someone else actually already did it for me. If you wanna get a better idea as to what that would've looked like, go check out The Final Battle and Pushing Through by Quietthinker here on this site if you haven't already. It's not a masterpiece, but it's a DAMN good read, and by far the most remarkably well-crafted FanFiction I've ever read.
I'm not sure how many chapters this thing is gonna be, but I have quite a few ideas in mind for it so it's probably gonna be pretty long. As for the upload schedule, I'm gonna try my best to get this done as quickly as possible, but I somehow manage to be both lazy and a perfectionist at the same time, so this could take a while, I'm afraid.
Please review! I've never really written anything before so I would really like praise if you think I deserve it or constructive criticism so I know what I need to do right in the future.
Just so it doesn't catch you too off-guard, this story is gonna have a shit-ton of OC's. The Prologue actually not only doesn't feature a single classic JN character, but it doesn't even take place on Earth. Don't let that frighten you, though. They'll all eventually be there.
