Kaeya's answer had, unfortunately, confirmed Diluc's fear- that Kaeya must have some sort of amnesia. It was the only logical explanation he could think of, given what happened to Kaeya and the fact that Kaeya thought he was seventeen. Diluc wasn't sure how to react. Though, before he could think it through, he found himself grumbling, looking as if someone had set fire to his vineyard. "You- you shouldn't have been so careless! Now you're.. you're…"

Diluc let out a shaky sigh as he sat on Kaeya's bed, holding his head in his hands "You really don't remember anything from the past five years..? Kaeya, we're both twenty-two.. You're the Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius.. a regular at my tavern and.. and…" he faltered. He wasn't sure how to tell Kaeya that not only did Crepus die, but that Diluc had cast Kaeya out. What sort of news is that to deliver to the other when he was in this state of mind? Kaeya, listening to what Diluc was saying, shook his head "I'm sorry, I really don't remember any of that" he said. But, upon seeing Diluc's expression, he fell quiet. He wasn't sure how to react to being told things that happened that he had no recollection of happening.

Granted, he still felt the anger he held towards Kaeya, but a part of him couldn't help but hope that maybe this was a chance at them rebuilding their brotherhood. Diluc had to admit that practically being an only child, even at the age of twenty-two had become quite melancholic.

To stop himself from blurting out something related to Crepus' death, Diluc let out yet another shaky sigh before bowing his head and standing up "Excuse us" he said before gesturing to Barbara to follow him. Kaeya just nodded a little bit as he watched the two of them leave to have a discussion about what Diluc could do to try and help Kaeya. As the two talked, Kaeya waited for them to return, or at least, just Diluc.

Barbara had deemed Kaeya fine for now, but he just needed to be mindful of the slight concussion Kaeya had. And the cathedral medical ward couldn't exactly do much for memory loss. So, after Diluc and Barbara walked back in, Diluc walked over to the bed again "Kaeya, we're going home" he said but then added "Okay?" Kaeya looked towards Diluc when he noticed he had returned. Though, he nodded in response to his brother "Okay" he said. He chose not to ask what Diluc and Barbara had talked about, but then again, the thought to ask didn't even come to mind.

At the moment, Diluc was unsure how to treat Kaeya. However, for the time being, or at least until they returned to the winery, Diluc decided it'd be best to stay neutral. "Come on" he said, moving to pull the blanket that covered Kaeya away "Are you able to stand?" he asked, now offering his hand to the other. Kaeya moved to get up, not reaching for Diluc's hand just yet "I think I can" he said. Though as he tried to stand up, he did grab onto his brother's hand. Kaeya was able to tell a little bit that Diluc seemed unsure, but he couldn't figure out what exactly was going through his mind, but he didn't try and get an answer

Diluc let out a small sigh once Kaeya was up and standing. He thanked Barbara before leading Kaeya out of the cathedral. "Come on" he said "We have to walk back. I know it's a bit of a long walk, but you should be fine, right?" he asked, looking to Kaeya for confirmation that he will, in-fact be fine with walking back to the Dawn Winery. Kaeya gave a nod "Yeah, I should be fine" he said. Though, most of his attention was on his surroundings. But it was mainly just how severe the damage to the city was because of the storm.

Despite getting confirmation from Kaeya that he would be okay with walking, Diluc made sure that Kaeya was actually alright and was walking fine before he continued on with leading Kaeya back to the winery. Though, he still wasn't quite sure how he would answer the other should he ask where Crepus was. For now, as they walked, Diluc just said "I moved into the winery to be closer to work.." To which Kaeya gave a nod and said "I suppose that makes sense" in reply.

As they continued to walk, Diluc kept small talk to a minimum until they got to the winery. And Kaeya seemed okay with that. Though, of course Kaeya had been more shy when he was younger, and that seemed to be how he was acting now.
