Eventually, Diluc and Kaeya reached the winery and after walking through the vineyard, they arrived inside. Diluc gave Kaeya a few moments to look around before he said anything to the other. He was still trying to figure out what to say about Crepus, so he seemed to just be trying to buy himself time.
Eventually, Diluc spoke, turning Kaeya's attention back to him. "This.. this is home now" he said, earning a confused look from Kaeya. But Diluc just continued "And.. now that we're home, I need to make you aware that father is.. no longer with us" Kaeya seemed shocked by the news "What? He's not..? Since when-?"
Diluc just gave a small nod and frowned softly. "Just over four years ago" he said "He.." Diluc paused for a moment "He was killed on my eighteenth birthday" As he spoke, he looked to Kaeya, wanting to see if it would help jog his memory even a little bit. But it didn't seem to have an effect on Kaeya's memory, the male just looked a bit.. upset. It was as if he was finding out about it all over again. Diluc, upon seeing this, sighed softly and took a few steps toward Kaeya, placing a hand on his shoulder
"I'm sorry" he said "Perhaps I shouldn't have told you so soon after waking up" Kaeya just shook his head "No, it's fine." he said, wiping at his eye a little bit "I was bound to find out one way or another." As he spoke, he took notice of what he could only guess was his brother attempting to comfort him.
After a few moments, Diluc just gave Kaeya's shoulder another pat before stepping away. "Right. I suppose so," he said. Suddenly feeling awkward, he spoke again "I guess I wanted you to hear it from me rather than from one of the maids letting it slip." He soon glanced away, unsure what to say or do now. What would one even follow that up with? Diluc wasn't sure, especially since it was Kaeya that he was speaking to.
Kaeya also wasn't fully sure what to say so he too had fallen quiet. Though for Kaeya, he normally always had something to say in response. But, this was technically a different Kaeya than normal. He was mentally younger, and therefore didn't know what to say sometimes. Diluc still was unsure as to what he should say. What made things more difficult for the red head was that the Kaeya that stood in front of him was the seventeen year old one, not the twenty-two year old one he had grown accustomed to speaking with.
Eventually, Diluc decided that it would be best to start things off on a good foot. However, he let out a small, shaky sigh before suddenly walking towards Kaeya and looking the other male in the eye. "I.. I do know you have connections to Khaenri'ah.." he rubbed the back of his neck a bit as he spoke. He saw Kaeya make a wide-eyed expression and he then added "I just wanted to let you know that I'm fine with it-"
"You aren't upset about it or anything?" Kaeya asked, sort of interrupting Diluc. But Diluc just nodded. He did want to tell Kaeya the truth, that deep down, he still blamed Kaeya and the connections the other male had to Khaenri'ah for Crepus' death. But, he wanted to rebuild their relationship now that he finally had the chance to do so. "No, I'm not upset about it or anything," he said "I meant what I said''
Kaeya looked a bit relieved once he heard what Diluc said. But how did Diluc find out about the connections he had with Khaenri'ah? Maybe Kaeya had told Diluc himself? He really wasn't sure. He wasn't even aware of himself having a vision yet as he had received it between when he actually remembered and the present.
Suddenly, Kaeya heard Diluc speaking to him after he had stepped away again "Kaeya, I don't quite remember. Remind me, um.. was it seashell hunting? I feel like it was but I can't place a finger on it.." The dark haired male was confused. "I don't think I know what you're talking about'' he said, shaking his head a bit. Diluc frowned softly but nodded "Nevermind then.." He had been trying to bring up something from their childhood, but now he just had to hope that the memory loss wasn't affecting his past memories as well. But, unfortunately it was hard to tell if it had just slipped Kaeya's mind or if it was something he had forgotten as well as the past five years.
Diluc then changed the subject "Anyways, what do you want for dinner?" he asked. Though, Kaeya just shrugged "I'm not sure" he said "Anything's fine I suppose" he said. Diluc gave a nod, thinking for a few moments "Alright.. How about pork?" he asked "You used to like that. And as far as I'm aware, you still like it" he said "Yeah, that sounds good" Kaeya said. Diluc nodded and offered a smile to Kaeya, though the smile still felt forced.
