The next day, since Diluc had the day off, he woke up at around nine in the morning. He rubbed his eyes and got up from his bed. He brushed his hair before tying it in a low ponytail, soon heading out of his room and downstairs for breakfast. Though, as Diluc had woken up, Kaeya seemed to still be asleep as he hadn't left his room yet. Which did make sense, as the day prior had to have been exhausting for him.

Diluc sat at the table, having eggs on toast for a while before checking a nearby clock. Upon looking at the time, he saw that it was now ten o'clock and Kaeya still wasn't up. He sighed and finished his water, getting up and walking back upstairs to Kaeya's room. Once in front of the door, Diluc knocked on the door "Kaeya?"

Kaeya, who was still in bed, moved a little bit before waking up. He sat up and looked over at the door, he thought he had heard someone knock on the door, but wasn't sure if it was real or had just been his imagination. Though, now that he was awake, he got out of bed and went to retrieve his eyepatch, which he had taken off before going to bed.

"Kaeya? Are you awake?" Diluc asked as he knocked again, not wanting to really startle Kaeya awake. However, he had no idea that Kaeya was about to see what his eye looked like without his eyepatch. "I'm awake" Came Kaeya's response. At least he most likely hadn't imagined that initial knock on the door. Kaeya looked at the eyepatch he was holding in his hand. He was unaware of what the eye the eyepatch covered looked like as he had been avoiding looking at his reflection since he had woken up at the cathedral the day before.

Diluc hummed in relief when he heard the response "Ah, alright. Do you want breakfast to be brought up to you, or do you want to come downstairs?" he asked. Kaeya replied after a moment "I'll come downstairs" he said, not really looking towards the door as he spoke. Kaeya didn't know why he was so hesitant about just looking at his own reflection. But, it was most likely because he himself looked different than he last remembered. He wasn't actually seventeen anymore.

Diluc nodded with another hum, not realizing the small crisis that Kaeya was going through on the other side of the door. "Okay then, I'll be downstairs waiting for you" he answered before soon walking off to go downstairs again. Kaeya heard Diluc's footsteps get farther away. Though the bluenette remained where he was, basically standing in the middle of the room. After a little bit, he went to look for a mirror or something so he could put his eyepatch back on.

Diluc sighed softly as he waited for Kaeya to come downstairs. Though, he began getting concerned about Kaeya. For a moment, he thought about how or when he should tell Kaeya about the night their father died, but ended up deciding against it for now. Meanwhile, Kaeya walked over to a mirror, but hesitated when it came to actually looking at his face. When he finally did, the first thing he noticed was his right eye, the one that the eyepatch seemingly covered all the time. Kaeya frowned a bit.

Diluc sighed again as he continued to wait for Kaeya. He was still worried about him. Worried that he had seen his eye or noticed the burn marks on his body from Diluc using his pyro on him that night. Whatever it was, Diluc hoped it wouldn't drive them apart again. But, Kaeya had in fact seen his eye. But for now he hadn't seen the burn marks on his body. He forced himself to look away from his eye and just put his eyepatch back on. After doing so, he turned away from the mirror to leave the room and go downstairs where Diluc was.

Before Diluc's troubling thoughts could get him to check in on Kaeya once more, he saw his brother walking down the stairs. Smiling at him, he spoke "Ah, you're here" he said "I didn't have Adelaide make your food yet since I wasn't sure what you'd want" Kaeya just smiled back at Diluc, nodding in response. He was trying to push away the thoughts about him seeing his right eye. But, at the same time, he wasn't sure what he even wanted for breakfast yet. On the other hand, Diluc was none the wiser as to what Kaeya had seen and just hummed quietly.

"What would you like?" Diluc asked. To which, Kaeya responded with a shrug "I'm not sure" he admitted. Not wanting to rush Kaeya, Diluc have a soft nod "I see. Well, take your time" he said. He soon changed the subject "I can take some time off to help you get your bearings and hopefully help you recover some memories. How does that sound?" At this point, Kaeya seemed slightly aware that Diluc had no idea what he had seen before coming downstairs, so he just nodded "Yeah" he replied. Though, Kaeya was unable to fully push what he had seen away from his thoughts. What had happened to his eye? He didn't know.

Diluc still waited for Kaeya to make a decision but remained patient. Eventually, Kaeya did decide "I think I'll just have toast" he said. Diluc smiled and gave a nod, asking Adelinde to get toast for Kaeya. Adelinde walked off and after a little bit, returned with two pieces of toast for Kaeya, as well as some butter to spread on the toast. Once Kaeya received his breakfast, Diluc continued speaking as Kaeya went to sit down. "Perhaps I can take you to the Knight's headquarters to help you remember again" he said. Kaeya gave a nod in response, maybe that would help with jogging his memory.

After a few moments, Diluc followed Kaeya to the table and sat down near him, though wasn't really sure what to say anymore. He also wasn't sure if he was being too suffocating, hovering over the younger male constantly. Though, given the circumstances, could he really be blamed? Kaeya didn't seem to have an issue with Diluc being near him so much, but the bluenette remained quiet as he ate his food. But, as he ate his toast, he couldn't help but yawn a little bit. Seeing this, Diluc chuckled softly. "Did you stay up reading?" He asked, glancing at Kaeya's eyepatch for a brief second before returning to making eye contact with him. Kaeya just shook his head "No, I actually went to bed shortly after going into my room" he explained "I'm probably just not fully awake" he added with a small shrug.

Diluc gave another nod "I see.. Is there anything you wish to do first today?" He smiled softly at Kaeya. But Kaeya just shook his head "Not specifically" he answered. Diluc sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose "You're not giving me much to work with here, you're usually so opinionated, or at least you used to be.. Has losing your memories made you timid?" he now frowned as he spoke. Kaeya looked at Diluc but just gave a small shrug. "I just can't think of anything to do at the moment," he said. Diluc nodded a little bit "Alright then.. Why don't we get dressed and head over to your office at the Knight's headquarters?" Kaeya, seemingly thinking about it for a few moments, soon nodded "Alright" he said, agreeing to the plans. Diluc then got up "Go on then, I'll get changed as well" he then began to walk off. Kaeya got up as well and began heading back to his room to change clothes.

Diluc got changed and was soon back downstairs waiting for Kaeya. As he waited, he rubbed his eyes a little bit. Kaeya took a little bit longer to get dressed than Diluc had, but eventually came downstairs and went over to Diluc. The red head looked at his brother once he saw him "Ready to go?" he asked, to which Kaeya gave a nod in response "Yeah, I think so." Though, Kaeya didn't appear to be carrying his vision on him. Diluc gave a nod, though glanced at Kaeya's belt, only to notice the absence of Kaeya's vision that the younger male usually wore on said belt "How come your vision isn't with you?" he asked with a frown. Kaeya seemed confused for a brief moment before shrugging a bit "I don't really know how to use it" He said, in fact he didn't even remember receiving it. Diluc was aware of this but still seemed to scold Kaeya a little bit "Well, don't leave it behind. If you're too far from it, you lose motivation and ambition. And if that happens you'll have an even harder time remembering stuff" he said, crossing his arms "Go get it, then"

It took Kaeya a little bit to actually agree, but once he did, he went to retrieve his vision, which he had left in his room. Diluc waited patiently, watching as Kaeya soon returned. "Good, now come on," he said. Kaeya nodded "Okay" he said. Diluc and Kaeya then left to head to the headquarters of the Knight's of Favonius. Though they had to travel back to the city of Mondstadt to get there. But, Diluc was sure that Kaeya would be able to walk back with no issues since Kaeya didn't seem to have any issues with walking to the winery the day before, meaning that Kaeya's injuries seemingly didn't affect his ability to walk.
