Diluc and Kaeya eventually arrived at the headquarters of the Knights of Favonious, though Diluc gave a small smile when he saw Jean, or rather, when she saw him. "Acting Grandmaster Jean- would you mind if I take Kaeya to his office to familiarize himself again? Perhaps see some of his paperwork? I won't look at anything I have no business with, I swear" he said. Jean, who seemed to have been made aware of the situation beforehand, gave Diluc permission to take Kaeya to his office. Though, while Diluc and Jean conversed, Kaeya was quiet, having nothing to say.

Once Diluc was able to pull away from the conversation with Jean, he gently pulled Kaeya by his arm to his office. He opened the door to the office, letting Kaeya walk inside and look around. Kaeya had walked over to the desk, looking at some of the papers that had been left there in hopes of triggering any memories. Unfortunately, there weren't many stacks of useful paperwork out. But, there was a framed picture from Kaeya's twenty-second birthday sitting on the desk. The picture, which had been taken with a kamera, was of the surprise party that had been arranged at Angel's Share with the help of Diluc. The picture was of Kaeya being surrounded by his friends. Kaeya had picked up the picture and looked at it

"Anything?" Diluc asked, looking between Kaeya and the picture. It took a few moments for Kaeya to answer. But once he did, he just shook his head "No" he said "I still don't remember" he said. He seemed slightly frustrated. Diluc sighed softly "Alright then" he said "It's okay if you don't. We'll just have to keep trying other things for you to remember.." he said. Kaeya still held onto the picture, but soon set it down with a small sigh. He looked around the office once more, but then ran his hand through his hair, another sigh escaping him.

"Still not getting anywhere?" Diluc asked as he placed a hand on Kaeya's shoulder rubbing it gently. Kaeya looked towards Diluc and shook his head "No.. not really" he said. Diluc gave a nod "Okay then. Why don't we.." He trailed off for a moment before coming up with another idea "Why don't we go visit Angel's Share? You tend to go there often" he said. Kaeya didn't answer immediately so Diluc spoke again "Come on, I don't think anything else from your office will help" he said. The statement seemed to convince Kaeya so Diluc began to lead Kaeya out of his office and out of the headquarters. Once they had exited the Knight's of Favonius headquarters, they began heading to the Angel's Share tavern.

Because Angel's Share was typically closed during the day, Diluc had to unlock the door so they could go inside. Though he had Kaeya go inside first. "Seem familiar?" Diluc asked. Kaeya looked around a little bit, he sort of heard what Diluc had said to him, but his attention seemed to be somewhere else. Kaeya felt that he should recognize where he was, that he did sort of recognize it, that it felt familiar. But he just didn't. The memories still not showing themselves. There was nothing.

Diluc watched Kaeya a little bit. The redhead had gone behind the bar. He soon spoke to Kaeya again "Do you want something to drink?" he asked. Kaeya seemed a little bit startled, but no longer seemed so.. lost in his thoughts. Diluc looked at Kaeya, waiting for an answer, which eventually he got in the form of a nod. Diluc had hoped that maybe something like a drink would jog Kaeya's memory. He was running out of ideas. Diluc got a glass, pouring some dandelion wine in it before handing it over to him "You don't have to finish it if you don't want to" he said. He at least wanted Kaeya to try it, maybe it'd do something to help. Kaeya just gave another nod "Okay" he said when he took the drink.

Diluc looked at Kaeya expectantly, waiting for him to at least take a sip of the drink but he soon looked away to pour himself a glass of grape juice. It took Kaeya a little bit to actually drink from the glass he was given. Though even without looking at Diluc, he could feel the other's gaze on him. But there seemed to be no change to Kaeya's memory

After a while, Diluc got tired of the silence and decided to say something "I'm scared, Kaeya" he said suddenly. The younger male seemed a bit confused, but Diluc continued to speak "I'm both scared that you will remember, and scared that you won't. Things have happened that.. that you're better off not remembering, but then I'd hate for you to skip straight from being seventeen and carefree to suddenly shouldering the role of being the Cavalry Captain and having to command men under you" he said "Both scenarios scare me and it terrifies me that either way, you might not be the same again"

Kaeya hadn't looked away from Diluc until the other had finished speaking. He was quiet for a little bit before he spoke "I'm scared too" he admitted. "I don't remember anything about being the Cavalry Captain" he said "And.. I don't like having so many missing memories, gaps where there should be a memory but there just isn't" He said. At this point, he had set down the drink. He reached up to run a hand through his hair, seeming slightly distressed. "But.. I'm also scared of remembering all that stuff, Luc.." It had been quite a while since Kaeya had used that nickname for Diluc. And Diluc himself couldn't remember when Kaeya had last called him that, it had to have been before Kaeya was seventeen, when they were still kids. But then again, Kaeya was usually pretty composed when it came to his emotions

Diluc was unsure as to how he should try and comfort the other. He seemed surprised by the nickname though, he couldn't even remember the last time he had heard Kaeya call him that. It was definitely not recently though. "I know, Kaeya" Diluc said "I just feel that there's some things you'd be better off not remembering, but having those gaps in your memory isn't fair or good for you" Kaeya just nodded a bit, but a frown was still present on his face.

Diluc let out a shaky sigh, gripping his glass tight enough for the leather on his gloves to creak "There's.. there's one more thing I can think of that might help you remember, but you aren't going to like it" Kaeya seemed a bit confused "What do you mean by that?" he asked, sounding unsure. He glanced at the glass in Diluc's hand but looked away after a moment.

"Have you noticed your eyepatch yet?" Diluc asked, looking at Kaeya. He set his glass down so he wouldn't risk breaking it. Kaeya gave a nod "Didn't we have a conversation about that last night?" he asked, silently hoping he wasn't misremembering that information. "We did.. I.." Diluc paused, trying to collect his thoughts. "On my birthday, we.." he paused again but Kaeya seemed patient, but Kaeya was a bit scared of what he was going to say "The day Father died, we fought. I.. I'm the one who gave you that injury" Diluc finally said as he looked away again, shame and guilt plaguing his expression.

Kaeya's eye widened "What?" he asked. He watched as Diluc looked away "We fought.. and you hurt me..?" Despite being unable to actually recall the event, the information sounded correct to him. But he now seemed to be quite upset about it. How could Diluc hurt him? Kaeya then shook his head a little bit, trying to not get too caught up in his thoughts.

Diluc on the other hand, was lost in his thoughts. Suddenly, he felt someone grab onto him and his first instinct was to push them away and say "Don't touch me!". But then he snapped out of it and looked at the person he had pushed away. It was Kaeya. He had shoved Kaeya to the ground.

Of course, Diluc hadn't realized that it was Kaeya that he had pushed away. But at the same time, he was physically stronger than Kaeya and had most likely pushed him with more force than intended, especially when he had wanted whoever had grabbed him to let go of him.

But now, he saw that it had just been Kaeya, who was now looking up at him with wide eyes, a look of fear. Kaeya was completely unaware of the fact that Diluc hadn't realized who he was. And now, Kaeya seemed scared of the red headed male. Diluc stepped towards Kaeya a little bit but Kaeya got up from the floor and stepped back "Kaeya, I'm so-" But, Kaeya quickly shook his head "No!" he said "I'm going home..!" he said.

Diluc could only watch as Kaeya walked out of Angel's Share to head back to the Winery. Diluc wasn't sure what to do. But he wanted to make sure that Kaeya didn't run into any danger while heading back to the winery. So he followed Kaeya, but was unable to get ahead of Kaeya, but he followed close enough behind that he could see Kaeya and help out if the other ran into any trouble on his way back to the winery.
