Jimmy and I walked out of the main office silently, still soaking in the "enlightening" encounter we had with our new headmaster. As we made out to the bustling halls of our new school, we both turned toward each other greeting each other with the same, bewildered look.

"This place, is a joke." I finally spoke, saying the first thing that came to mind.

Jimmy scoffed before nodding in agreement. "You're telling me."

Miss. Danvers cleared her throat from the front desk, making us turn our attention toward her again.

"Did you two not hear what I said? Get to the dorms." She demanded sternly.

"On it." I called back plainly, we then both hurried away from her sight, not wanting to get scolded again.

"We're stuck in this place for two years... we're gonna lose our minds before the month ends, I know." I spoke, narrowly dodging a random object that had been thrown across the room.

"Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll let us out early then." Jimmy replied optimistically.

"That ain't gonna happen, since we have we ever been that lucky before?"

Jimmy huffed lightly before muttering in reply. "I'm hopeful we'll get that lucky some day."

"You have more optimism that me brother..."

Dear god it's even worse than I thought.

Pink, pink all I could see was pink, it was blinding, so bright it made my eyes burn. The walls, the furniture, the carpet… even the firepit was stained with the bright, peppy color. But, I had to admit, it was pretty spacious and clean too. So, I felt pretty safe knowing I was going to be living in a place that I knew wouldn't have bugs crawling on me as I slept.

Before I could attempt to explore more of the heavily pink building, a warm voice called out to me.

"You seem a bit lost." She started, giving me a sweet smile. "You must be one of our new students, I'm Ms. Phillips, your art teacher."

"Oh, nice to meet you." I greeted back, feeling relief that one authority figure here wasn't a prick to me. "I am a bit lost, I don't really know what dorm room I'm supposed to be in."

"Miss. Danver's didn't give you your dorm assignment?" Ms. Phillips asked, her tone now slightly annoyed.

I shook my head no in reply.

"Ugh, that woman I swear." Ms. Phillips muttered. "I think we have our updated list in the back, just give me a second to get it." She added apologetically.

I only had to wait a few seconds for her to come back, she now carried a large binder, filled to the brim with paper.

"What's your name, hon?" She asked, setting the binder down on a dark pink table.

"Jade Hopkins."

"Hopkins… Hopkins… Hopkins." She muttered, flipping through the pages quickly. "Ah, there you are. You're in room 219 with Mandy Wiles."

"Great, thanks for the help." I said appreciatively.

"No problem dear," She walked past me but her voice stopped me from going toward the stairs. "By the way, I love your hair. It's very expressive."

"Thank you." I replied genuinely.

She gave me a smile in return before going back into one of the faculty rooms in the dorm. I then climbed up the pink carpeting stairs and began to scan the door numbers.

"There it is." I knocked on the door, not wanting to barge in on my new roommate.

I pulled out my half dead phone and headphones, realizing that unpacking everything might take a while. Once some random song was playing, I zipped open my packed bag, cringing at the amount of stuff I brought with me. But, one by one, I reorganized my clothes and other items I had brought along with me. I had just started hanging up the last bit of my shirts when my headphones were suddenly yanked off my head.

"What the-" I muttered before turning around to see a tallish, brown haired girl.

"Hey new girl, when I ask you something you better answer me the first time I say it, got it?" She asked angrily.

"Well." I say lowly before yanking my headphones out of her hand. "If you were paying attention to what you were holding in your filthy hands. You would know I was listening to music and couldn't hear you genius."

I could hear a slight growl bubble from her throat, her eyes drew daggers into me. "Whatever." she scoffed. "Like I care about someone who looks as pathetic as you."

I laughed at her mockingly, making her even more agitated. "Then why did you come and talk to me in the first place, Miss High and Mighty?"

Mandy hissed out a breath before stomping back out of the room, not even bothering to close the door.

"What. A. Joke." I muttered humorously to myself.

A light knock reverberated in the air a few moments later. I turned back around to see a shy looking girl. Her hair was tied back in a sleek half ponytail and small green glasses adorned her face.

"E-excuse me, would you mind if I come in for a second?" She asked meekly.

"Be my guest." I replied with a reassuring smile. "But I have to admit, I'm not the funnest person to be around."

"Oh, I'm sure that's not true." The girl replied with a nervous laugh. "I just wanted to say I'm shocked you stood up to someone as powerful as Mandy Wiles! She is going to try and make your life miserable." She spoke with slight excitement and fear.

I scoffed at her before smirking. "Please, Miss High and Mighty's popularity and high kicks do not intimidate me." I replied, failing to do a high kick myself.

I'm Beatrice." She greeted, her metal-clad teeth came into my view. She stuck her hand out for me to shake.

"Jade," I replied, shaking her hand briefly.

"Listen I gotta go but if you ever need help with your science homework my room is just down the hall." She offered kindly.

"I will definitely remember that." Beatrice smiled and then walked away.

I sighed out after she had left, sitting on my bed. A couple of sad uniforms sat next to me, crumpled on my surprisingly fluffy pillows.

I am not wearing that…

I grabbed the plain white shirt and one of my black skirts, quickly throwing them on before grabbing at the decent looking blue sweater the school provided.

It's better than before… I guess.

I took in a deep breath as I slung my bag over my shoulder, hyping myself up before hurrying out of the dorm. Though when I stepped out, part of me wished I hadn't. I was greeted with the sight of my brother of course who wasn't my issue. But, a boy next to him caught my eye. He looked to be about as tall as me with brown hair and eyes. He also had a fleshy scar going from his eyebrow to the apple of his cheek.

I didn't know why, but something about him just made me feel… uneasy.

The scared boy eyed me before turning toward Jimmy, a wicked smirk slowly curving his pale lips. "Are you sure you're related to her James?" He asked before eyeing me one again.

"Yeah, I'm sure." Jimmy muttered boredly.

"Well, all I know is she got all the beauty out of you two." The boy spoke sardonically, clearly not being serious at all. But, Jimmy's bored gaze turned protective almost immediately, seeing his "joke" as him flirting.

And Jimmy would be damned if anyone tried to do that, whether they were a good guy or not.

"Alright," I began to speak before Jimmy could knock the guy's head off. "Who the hell are you and what do you want?" I questioned the boy, crossing my arms defensively.

The boy gave me a grin, clearly amused at my response. "Gary," he said simply innocently. "And, all I wanted to do was show you and your brother around this prison." He added.

I walked down the steps, approaching the pair coolly.

"The only thing I want you to show me is an escape route." I muttered casually walking past them and toward the monolithic building.

An arm lightly placed itself around my shoulder a brief moment later, making me tense just slightly. But, Gary didn't seem to notice it too much. "What fun would that be if I let you two get away right out the gate?"

"It'd be extremely fun in my opinion…"

The kids in this place were horrifying.

Seriously brutal, I wouldn't be surprised at all if some of them ended up in prison after they graduated from this place. Kids were getting shoved into lockers, jumped, firecrackers were getting launched at others, and the things that Jimmy and I were getting told were horrendous. So, my assumptions on them were pretty spot on… they were very "welcoming" indeed.

I was honestly starting to feel like I had a deathwish staying in a place like this.

We finally made it to the cafeteria, which was filled with an abundance of people.

"Ah, feeding time at the zoo." I heard from next to me, Gary stood there with a smug look on his face. "So here the deal, over there you got the nerds. Of course, they're all complete social outcasts."

"They look pretty harmless," Jimmy said. I nodded in agreement with him.

"They're actually sneaky bastards, their turf is the Library. And those are the Preps, they're all money and condescending attitudes." Gary said in a snobbish accent.

"Yeah massively inbred and completely brainless," Jimmy commented, I bit back a laugh.

"Very observant Jimmy boy, Now over there are the Greasers... they think they're tough."

My eyes slowly wandered toward the group Gary was speaking of and almost immediately one caught my eye. He was handsome, no doubt about it, his facial structure was killer, and his warm brown hair and eyes suited him perfectly. And that smirk he had… damn it as much as I didn't want it to, it made my heart race a million miles a minute.

There was one thing I knew, there was no way in hell someone who looked like him was single.

"Or at least try to look tough." Jimmy rebutted, distracting me from the swirl of thoughts racing through my head.

"I wouldn't advise messing with them, at least not yet. They hang by the auto shop." Gary explained carefully.

"So Jimmy, if he advises not messing with them, that means they actually are tough." I spoke humorously, making Jimmy roll his eyes.

"Ah, so not only did Jade get the beauty in the family, she got the brains too I see."

"You know," Jimmy began, giving Gary a mean glare. "you really know how to piss someone off."

"It's a gift." Gary replied, not being phased in the slightest by my brothers hostility before continuing. "a nd then we have the Jocks, these guys rule the school. Definitely avoid them."

"You'll learn." Gary spoke coldly. "C'mon, we got a little time to kill before classes start. I think you both need to experience the lovely food we get here at Bullworth."

"I think from the looks of these plates, I'd rather starve..."

Johnny's POV

I felt an abrupt hit on my shoulder, I glared over at Ricky who was now pointing near the entrance of the cafeteria.

"That's them, that's the new kids." He said. "They're the ones sitting at the corner of the first table."

I looked around not seeing anyone new in particular, I thought Ricky was just pullin' my leg for a second until I saw her.

Damn was she gorgeous…

My throat tightened at the sight of her, a rush of adrenaline suddenly shot through me taking me aback. She stood out, she was bold, intriguing… and had a smile that made me feel like I had gotten the wind knocked out of me if I was being completely honest with myself.

Lola would kill me if she knew I was thinking about another broad like this…

"Ain't she a looker?" Ricky's voice asked, breaking me away from my thoughts.

"She's alright… I've seen better." Hal muttered honestly.

"You're crazy man, look at her."

"She's decent." Hal replied, sticking to his original sentiment.

Ricky scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Your definition of beauty is probably based around Edna." He replied, obviously jokin' around.

"Shut up twig!" Hal rebutted before stormin' off.

"I was just kiddin' around, what's his problem?" Ricky asked humorously.

"I don't know man." I mumbled.

"I might have to talk to pretty girl over there real soon…"

God just hearing him talk about her was making my blood boil, and I didn't even know her.

"You think she'd go out with me?"

Before I could answer the question that pissed me off more and more as seconds went by, the bell rang.

Jade's POV

C'mon, let's go." Gary said as he began to walk out of the cafeteria.

I looked down at my schedule, I had Gym first while Gary and Jimmy had English. We had our classes mixed up because they didn't want siblings in the same class. They might "cause trouble" if they're together in the same classes. I scanned the school map and jogged outside realizing it was on the other side of the school.

"God, they need to write stuff down better… Simply telling me I have gym class is not he-"

I bumped into a hard body harshly, me and whoever I ran into stumble onto the ground. I could feel my heart race when I saw who it was.

Of course it was him...

"I- I'm sorry… I wasn't looking where I was going." I stammered out nervously, quickly getting up off the cold ground.

"It's alright." He replied calmly, getting off the ground himself. "I seen ya around this mornin' but I didn't get a chance to talk to ya. Names Johnny Vincent, you?" He asked curiously.

"Jade Hopkins." I answered while straightening out my clothes. "Well since you're here.. You mind helping me out with something?" I add warily.

He nodded, waiting for me to continue.

"Can you show me where the hell the Gym is? This school is like a maze."

"You aren't too far from it, follow me." He replied, walking toward the direction I was going before.

We walked casually, mostly in silence. The sounds that could really be heard from us were our footsteps. The ambience of the wind and birds in the air filled the atmosphere mostly.

I could see him looking at me by the corner of my eye, his stares were mostly inquisitive. I could understand why, I hadn't made a peep and the sounds that did come out of my mouth were a complete mess. We eventually made it to the Gym, I knew it didn't take that long. But the silence really made things drag out longer.

"Thanks for the help." I said appreciatively.

"No problem," He replied, a cocky smirk exposing his seemingly perfect teeth. I couldn't help but smile back at him, my heart fluttering the longer I gazed at him.

Suddenly, a feminine, whiny voice echoed in the crisp autumn air.

"Johnny!" It called out hopelessly, sounding on the brink of crocodile tears.

Johnny's demeanor lowered greatly, he glowered at the sound of the voice.

"Where are you!?" It asked loudly, it grew closer and closer to us. "Oh, there you are!" It said excitedly, I looked over Johnny's to see a tall, seductive looking girl.

"What do you want Lola?" Johnny asked tiredly, his energy slowly drifting away the longer he was around the girl.

She had light brown hair, piercing brown eyes and one of the slimest figures I had ever seen. She carried herself with a confidence that was rare with others around our age. I saw her once sultry grin melt into a look of disgust once she laid her eyes on me.

"Who are you?" She spat out harshly.

I tried to answer but she cut me off almost immediately.

"Ah, on second thought I don't really care who you are." She interjected, stalking closer to me. "You think you're real slick and cool with those cheap studs in your face or that terrible dye job you've done to your hair?"

"I think I'm adorable." I replied sarcastically.

She squinted angrily at me, her chest began to heave with angry puffs. "Well, let me tell you something, freak! You can parade yourself to every other pathetic boy in this place. But, my BOYFRIEND is. off. limits." She sneered at me. "Do I make myself clear?"

"I wasn't trying to pursue him for your information." I snapped back. "I just got lost on my way to the gym, I had no ulterior motive."

"Whatever! Just back off or I will make your life miserable here freak, miserable!" She shouted in my face before storming off, harshly grabbing Johnny's forearm as she walked away.

I watched as she began to shout at him while he half heartedly defended himself.

You poor bastard…

Johnny's POV

"Get the hell off of me." I gritted, forcing my arm out of her grasp. "What is wrong with you?"

Lola turned around, her eyes full of anger. "That girl is no good Johnny Vincent!" She simply replied.

I looked at her incredulously, where was all of this coming from?

"Wha-"

"Anyone here could see she was trying to seduce you. Those shy smiles and giggles weren't innocent…"

I scoffed at her before attempting to walk away. "You're losin' it Lola."

"I am not!" She yelled, following closely behind me. "I know how girls act when they like someone else. She wants more than you might think!"

"Whatever you say." I replied sarcastically, finding it ridiculous that she was getting on me with something as hypocritical as this.

"Ugh!" Lola let out loudly, her footsteps stomping past me. "You are an ass sometimes Johnny Vincent!"

I sometimes wonder why I'm with this crazy chick…
