Chapter Three: WANDAVISION!
Wanda Maximoff and Vision are just two normal residents of the town of
Westview. Nothing at all special here. Nothing to see here. Just two normal and
healthy human beings who are in a relationship with one another. Except for just one small little thing. Wanda is a witch and Vision is a robot. But don't tell anyone. As Wanda is in the kitchen cleaning dishes and Vision is watching television in the living room, a song begins to play.
A newlywed couple just went to town. A regular husband and wife who left the big city to find a quiet life! WANDAVISION!
When Wanda finished cleaning the dishes, she went out to find Vision.
"There's my charming husband." Wanda said sweetly.
"There's my adorable wife." Vision responded pleasantly.
Wanda went over to sit next to Vision on the couch.
"We are an unusual couple, you know." Wanda said gently.
"I'm proud of that." Vision said.
"Me too."
Wanda and Vision shared a nice and gentle kiss with one another. Wanda then heard a knock on the door. Wanda went up to answer the door. It was Agnes.
"Hello. I don't mean to intrude. My name is Agnes." Agnes said.
"I'm Wanda. That's my husband, Vision." Wanda replied.
"How lovely to meet you both. Did you just move in?" Agnes asked.
Agnes walked into Wanda and Vision's home. Wanda was a bit taken aback that Agnes had not asked Wanda or Vision's permission to enter the home.
"Yes, just recently." Wanda said.
"Where did you move from?" Agnes asked.
Wanda and Vision both looked at one other puzzled. They did not know how to answer that question.
"It feels like on some level that we've always been here." Wanda stated.
"Westview has the impact. It's a very nice town. I also feel like I've always been here. Sometimes it feels like I'll just stay forever and never leave." Agnes commented.
Vision and Wanda felt an eerie feeling after hearing those words from Agnes.
"Are you hungry? Can we fix you anything?" Vision asked.
"Thanks for the offer but I really just wanted to stop by and say hi. I'm your neighbor to the right. I really just wanted to get away from my husband, he's insufferable." Agnes said.
"Alright then. Well, it was great meeting you." Wanda replied.
"Oh, I assure you. The pleasure was mine." Agnes said darkly.
Agnes left the home leaving Wanda and Vision feeling somewhat suspicious. However, that feeling faded away immediately.
"I'm going to work, dear. I'll see you later tonight." Vision said.
Vision left Wanda with another kiss and then left the home with his human disguise intact. Wanda heard a knock from the basement and went to investigate it. Wanda opened up the basement door and walked downstairs. There was a sofa, a small television, a few blankets and one small table. Besides that, nothing else was down there. As Wanda walked downstairs, she noticed Stephen sitting on the sofa.
"How are you doing, Stephen?" Wanda asked.
"I'm very cold. Is there any chance to make this area warmer?" Stephen asked.
Wanda shook her head.
"No, so sorry on that. We like to save money on the heat so…"
"Can you please let me sleep upstairs then?" Stephen asked.
Wanda shook her head.
"Oh no. This is the place for you. This is where you're going to stay." Wanda said firmly.
"Wanda please. I'm very eager to talk to someone. It's been very lonely down here."
"Oh, Stephen. This is what you're going to get." Wanda replied angrily.
"But Wanda-"
"No butts, Stephen. Now how about you sit your butt back down on the sofa again." Wanda joked.
"But I would really like to meet other people in Westview and maybe even so more outside of town." Stephen said.
Wanda walked up very close to Stephen and gave him a very wicked smile.
"This is what happens when you break the rules. You get punished. Get used to it. Now if you don't mind, I've got to cook dinner. I have no time to waste." Wanda said.
Stephen sat down on the sofa.
"Oh shucks." Stephen said.
Wanda and Stephen both heard the sound of laughter and applause. Wanda walked back up the stairs and then locked the basement door making it impossible for Stephen to leave.
As Wanda entered into the kitchen and thought about making her meal, she quickly realized that she needed more food. Wanda left her home and locked it intending to walk over to the grocery store. Wanda walked by her neighborhood and noticed Agnes who waved at her. Wanda noticed some of the other residents in her town including a woman who Wanda did not immediately recognize.
"Hello there." She said.
"Hi. I'm not sure we've met before." Wanda said.
"My name is Monica. I just moved here a little while ago." Monica mentioned.
"Pleasure to meet you. I'm Wanda." Wanda replied.
"You seem familiar. Are you sure we haven't met before?" Monica asked.
"Oh yes I'm sure." Wanda answered.
Wanda smiled at Monica and then left her behind. Monica looked at Wanda confused but then went on with her day. Wanda then entered the grocery store which was close by to her home. As Wanda looked to find some chicken that she could cook, she bumped into another woman.
"Hello." She said.
Wanda looked over and saw a woman that she was familiar with.
"Natalie? Is that you?" Wanda asked.
Natalie nodded.
"Yes, hi Wanda. It's so good to see you. I was worried."
"Worried about what?" Wanda asked.
"You were away for a while. I was scared something happened." Natalie replied.
Wanda laughed.
"Oh, Natalie. You were always so anxious. I'm fine." Wanda said.
Wanda's voice cracked as she said "fine". Natalie shot Wanda a knowing glance.
"Oh, Wanda. It's okay to be sad. I would be said if I was you." Natalie said.
Wanda laughed a nervous laughter.
"I don't know what you mean. My life is great. I'm great." Wanda replied.
Natalie took a shopping cart and walked over to the frozen aisle right alongside Wanda.
"Oh silly me. I must have been mistaken. You know me and my wacky brain, aha." Natalie said.
Natalie and Wanda both heard another source of laughter coming from an unknown location. Wanda and Natalie both grabbed the final package of chicken at the same time and then both laughed.
"Oh, I'm sorry. This looks like the last one." Wanda said.
"Oh, I see. I really do need it." Natalie said.
"I need it too to cook dinner for my husband." Wanda commented.
"Oh, I didn't know you were married." Natalie stated.
"Yes. My husband's name is Vision." Wanda said.
"Vision? But I thought that Vision was…" Natalie started to say.
Wanda's eyes briefly turned red which resulted in a power outage in the grocery store. When the lights turned back on, Natalie forgot what she had been saying.
"Say again? I'm sorry I didn't hear you." Wanda said.
"Say what? I didn't say anything." Natalie responded.
"Oh. Well I would really like this chicken." Wanda said firmly.
"Oh, of course. I'll just make something else." Natalie said.
Wanda smiled as she took the chicken and placed it in her shopping cart.
"Well, I really do have to run. It was nice bumping into you."
"Yes, same here. I really have been worried about you. It's so nice to see you and know that you're doing alright." Natalie said kindly.
"Well, there's no reason to worry. Vision and I are doing just fine. Nothing to worry about here." Wanda said.
"Oh Wanda. Before you go, I was just wondering about if you've seen my friends. I haven't seen them in quite a while. Their names are Stephen and Monica. Do you know where they are?" Natalie asked.
Wanda abruptly dropped a milk carton which splashed milk all over the grocery aisle.
"Oh how clusy of me. I swear I'm such a clutz." Wanda said with a laugh.
The same familiar laugh track played in the background.
"Let me help you." Natalie offered.
"No. I think it's time for you to go." Wanda said.
Natalie looked into Wanda's eyes.
"Yes, it's time for me to go." Natalie agreed.
Natalie walked away from Wanda immediately leaving Wanda alone.
