This Story is a redux of my previous story; 'An Eromancer's Journey', that story is...not that great. Or maybe I have simply grown since then, but I personally don't recommend that Story - hence why I am completely remaking it, with only the original basis being in tact, that being the 'Eromancer' part.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this; I have made sure to try and perfect this as much as I possibly can. But please feel free to review and flame me regardless! :)
Death.
Was it the beginning, was it the end? The beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning?
It was an impossible question to answer; the thought being something akin to 'what happens when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object'.
Nobody knows.
But I know. Maybe I'm the only one who knows.
Death is neither the beginning nor the end.
It is Purgatory. It is nothing.
Because in death there is no time, no space, no meaning. And if I could go back, and do more with my life, live longer, I realise now that I would do it.
This...nothingness. It was maddening!
You hear all the time that 'humans are social creatures', and most scoff at that. What about introverts? Well, they still interact with people, maybe even animals instead. But me?
I was alone.
And I had nothing with me but my own mind. How scary was that?
'A person who thinks all the time has nothing to think about except thoughts'; it sounds blatantly obvious, but most people don't realise it until it's right in their faces.
I had had the chance to recount my entire life thousands of times over, living every second, wishing, begging I'd made a different choice.
It was then, I realised, that my life wasn't...Good. It wasn't a life that I was content with.
That infuriated me. My life...wasn't even a life. Just survival. Scraping by.
Why did that make me so angry? I don't know. But it did.
"Haah..."
I breathed in, but no air rushed into my lungs. Being here – in this place – was weird. It went against everything I had ever known.
I have a body, but I don't need maintenance. I have eyes, but I can't see. Skin, but I can't feel. A nose, but there is nothing to smell.
Was I going mad?
Oh God...
God. Gods. I had never been a believer in the divine before, but suddenly, I had an idea.
A crazy idea, one that may make you question my sanity, but it was my last shot before I did become mentally broken.
Okay...
"If there's anybody out there...any Gods, or - uh, 'ROB's', please help a brother out, yeah?"
That wasn't my plan, of course. It was just getting somebody's, anybody's, attention.
I breathed in.
"Okay, here goes...
Um. Ha~ands, touching hands..."
This was so awkward, but I started to move, just a little bit of a shuffle really, but I tried getting into the 'mood'.
"Reaching out..." I spread my arms, pointing them forward as I tapped my foot on the 'ground', nodding my head.
I was... starting to get into this.
"Touching me~e! Touch~ing youuuu~!"
This was it. The peak of it.
The Zennith. The tip of the Mountain.
It was this or nothing.
"...Sweet Caroline~!..."
[BAM! BAM! BAM!]
[Wait, no - fuck!]
Aha! Finally, a voice!
And a...box? A luminescent, rectangular 2d monitor that bears a strong resemblance to something you'd see in an RPG-based video game.
Hm. I wonder if there is any correlation there –
Oh who am I kidding. This is exactly what I think it is, right? The whole 'Gamer-shtick' isn't exactly ground-breaking.
Needless to say, I accept!
[I...wow. Not only have I been tricked by a mortal, but he's figured the entire thing out instantly?]
[What have I become...]
The voice that spoke alongside the text was full of depression, and I couldn't help but become slightly awkward because of it.
It was weird. 'The System' is supposed to be some sort of A.I, and yet this sounds like a woman is talking right into my ear.
...It's kind of arousing –
I mean - cough. Uh, there there, system. It's okay. I'm pretty much a genius. (I'm not. I was just a NEET in my life)
[I don't need you to –]
Actually, calling you a System sounds wrong. Your voice is like that of an actual human, not like any of that A.I voice shit you'd see on TikTok.
You know what you need, Sys, you need a name!
[Do not call me 'Sys' -]
Finger gunning the air, I chuckled to myself.
"I wasn't planning on it."
Anyway, a name. A name, a name, a name...
Shit, why did I agree to give you a name again?
Eh, let's just get on with it.
First of all, let's just cross out any and all Japanese sounding names, okay?
...
Wait. That sounds racist. It isn't! I swear! I just mean - it'd be weird, and super weaboo of me to name you something like - like 'Sakura' or something, okay!?
...
Great. Now you shut up. Leave me here to wallow in my internalised racism, oh I just love you.
Okay. Um, what about something like...Cassidy.
[Hm. Cassidy isn't so –]
Hah. Cassidy. I always loved watching MatPat's Game Theory videos. Cassidy was ah...Golden Freddy or something right-?
[ABSOLUTELY NOT!]
Damn, haha. Okay. I'm guessing the other dead children's names are out then, too, huh?
Don't answer that. Putting a finger to my lip, I thought more.
It's a shame that you're not a guy though. William would be a pretty cool name.
Tut, well, since you're making me think so hard on a name. We can get rid of all of these screens.
Dismiss. Or whatever I say to get rid of these visions —
"OH! THAT'S IT!"
"Visions. You were made by a God of some kind, and your System Screens are practically visions, right?"
[...right? Where are you going with this?]
Are you serious? You're basically my guardian angel in this, and everything yet to come!
And if you haven't figured it out yet, then allow me tell you.
"I, with the power bestowed upon me, denominate thee with the name of Gabriel. The herald of visions, and messenger of the God above."
It was funny, really. I wasn't actually Christian, but well, the name...it sounded right.
[Gabriel...huh. I like it. You could've done without the 'holier than thou' aspect of the naming process though.]
Shrugging my shoulders, I stifled a chuckle.
"What can I say? I've an aspect for being dramatic."
Though, that wasn't exactly a good thing; I know people hated that when I was alive, but then again, I'm dead. So I don't care.
[Okay. I think we've stalled long enough.]
We? I've been wanting to get out of here since the moment you first talked -
[And who was it who just spent the last 5 minutes thinking of a name that could've been done at any point?]
‐ and I completely agree with that you have to say.
Please, carry on my dear.
...
[Right. First of all, don't call me that. Secondly...]
[Please choose your race!]
[Human (Quirkless)] [? ? ?] [? ? ?]
Raising a brow, I crossed my arms in slight confusion. And after a moment of cocking my head, a smile couldn't help but cross my lips.
Ah. I see.
Yes, indeed.
I'm being sent to the world of BNHA, right? That's why it says Quirkless. Though, why can't I have a –
Nevermind. A Quirk on top of being a Gamer straight away? That's really OP.
Wait...is it, really? If those question marks mean a random race, then I very well could just end up getting a [Human (Quirk)] or a Mutant race, which would just then give me an ability.
Plus, a random race? That shit probably has something like [God] or [Kryptonian] somewhere on there.
I think this system is just trying to send me in with a handicap. Though, wouldn't I just be able to use magic? I don't know...
[Uh, yeah. The question marks do mean a random Race. Geez, I don't know if you've just read so many Gamer stories or if you're just naturally gifted...]
[For astute observations, you have gained 1 INT!]
I think the System spoke for me on that one Gabby.
[Humph. Anyway. You're right on the 'Handicap' thing aswell. Nobody likes the OP!Gamer story right from the bat, do they? At least with the random race you are a lot more likely to get something weaker than a Human.]
Ahh, this is difficult.
Do I want to stay as a baseline human, who has the powers of a Gamer. Or do I want to potentially become a super race, and have the powers of a Gamer?
The answer, on paper, seems obvious. Actually, scratch that, it is obvious.
Every single race has unique adaptations about them. Even if I was to get a 'mundane' race, like um, say a Lion. Or a Gorilla, a chimpanzee even.
Well, those are already stronger than people. And I assume I can change my race, or at least evolve at a later date, right?
[For thinking outside of the box, you have gained 1 WIS!]
Hah, cheers. Anyway. I'm going to go ahead and randomise my Race. Plus, I'm most likely going to at least keep my intelligence, the only thing that could potentially happen is an increase in smarts, if I'm being honest.
What can I say, I'm feeling lucky?
Randomising [Race]...
Rolling...
Rolling...
Rolling...
[Osmosian (Ben 10)] Race has been selected!
Race: Osmosian (Ben 10)
Originating from the planet; Osmos V, the entire Osmosian species has a reputation in the Universe as being mentally unstable, this is because of their incredible powers.
Grants Skills; [Energy Absorption] , [Matter Absorption] , [DNA Absorption] and [Mana Absorption]
STR, AGI, END, VIT and SEN increased by 5x.
The trait, [Mental Instability] is negated, and has been removed due to [Gamer's Mind].
Uh...wow.
This is just - this is an incredible race to get straight off of the bat!
And —
Wait. I thought Osmosian's were retconned to be humans, or, well, like Mutants from Marvel.
Either way, I'm not complaining. Those powers are way more than worth it, just thinking of the possibilities is making me, well...
[Okay. TMI, dude. And secondly, I retconned the Osmosians to be Aliens again. Or rather, I found a universe in which where they were never 'retconned' to begin with.]
Huh. That's cool.
Hum, Osmosian. They're very human-like in appearance. The only deviation I can think of would be the bumps that Aggregor had on his head.
Which, honestly, wasn't so bad. At least not in my opinion, especially when I could've reincarnated as something like a...a facehugger or something.
...
Okay – I've weirded myself out now. What's - what's next to do?
[Well, now you need to choose a class!]
[Fighter] [Mage] [Rogue]
I...wanted to say that this was an easy choice. I wanted to say that I was instantly going to choose Mage, but honestly? It took quite a bit of thought.
Magic would be cool – no, it would be absolutely amazing. To wield a force beyond anything I'd ever dreamed of...it sounded...I can't put it into words, but I'm sure you get what I mean.
But then, becoming a Swordsman, or a Knight, sounded just as cool - or... maybe a little less.
But have you seen Swordsmen in anime? They're absolutely OP! And not to mention Martial Arts, and what characters have done with that.
I'm looking at you, Gai-Sensei!
And then 'Rogue'. Well, being a Ninja didn't sound too bad. It wasn't as interesting as being a Fighter of course, but I could respect the art.
But ultimately, I was going to choose Mage. I think we all knew I was going to.
And once I did...
[Elementalist] , [Illusionist] , [Healer] , [Enchanter] , [Necromancer] , [Summoner] ...
Oh.
Leaning my head back, I couldn't help but let out a groan. Not that any of these options were bad, per sé, but...
"These are too good! How am I supposed to choose?"
While most people would probably discard something like Necromancy, the thought of Death Magic was actually quite enticing.
Not only could I raise the dead to be an immortal army, I could perhaps even communicate with souls that had long since passed.
And [Healer] , too, wasn't so bad. I mean, look at Tsunade Senju, and Sakura Haruno. Or uh, even Kabuto Yakushi. A scalpel of Magic can be useful.
But ultimately, I settled on one choice that I think would be perfect for me.
...
"Gabriel, I want you to randomise my class!"
[...Wait, what? You know randomising your class can mean getting any class right?]
[Sure, it unlocks classes that usually wouldn't be accessible, but there are some...strange ones.]
Eh, I don't mind. I trust the system to give me a class that I will at least be able to use. Y'know?
And plus, I'm feeling pretty lucky today. So please, Gabriel, do the thing!
[Sigh...fine.]
Did you just say sigh-?

Eromancy? That is, well, I don't know what to say. It was...Magic at least? Haha.
Of course, a small, virgin part of my mind shivered with excitement at the thought of it. Sex Magic?
Please, that's any Virgin's dream – and yes, that includes me. I died so young. Barely 16 years old and the only thing I'd ever done with a girl was kiss.
And you'd think that was normal, right? But all of my friends were already fucking, and I was alone.
Maybe this would change that? Or would it only give me a semblance of love, and the only thing that would keep me and my 'lovers' together would be the magic that I enforce onto their unconscious mind — ?
WOW, did that get dark or what? Hahaha...
Um, anyway. Yay, sex magic! Cough, now what?
[Wow, are you seriously trying to rush this?]
Well...maybe? Kinda?
...
Okay, yeah. I want to get out of this void as soon as I can, okay?! Sure, you're nice to talk to Gabriel, but there's nothing here; no breeze, no warmth or cold, no gravity...
I hate it here. I want to live again.
So...please?
[...fine. I suppose you would be affected by this, I forget that my host's are also mortals.]
[Anyway, would you like to Roll 1 Trait, for 1 Perk?]
Hm...a trait, something that could potentially – scratch that, something that will definitely alter my brain chemistry, turning me into somebody different from who I am now...
For a Perk?
Yeah, the answer is simple really.
"Spin it, baby!"

[Oh wow. A Heavenly Restriction? I haven't seen one of them in...actually, this is the first time I've ever seen one! You're luck is incredible ~]
This – this isn't funny, Gabriel! I'm weak as fuck. No, I'm weaker than fuck.
Come on, man. I'm – I'm screwed. Unless there is some fucking Vibranium or something for me to absorb at all times, I'm gonna die.
And not from some supervillain like All For One, but by a God damned gust of wind, probably!
Like, seriously? And yes; I see that it can be lifted, but...500 in all of my physical stats – when there's a modifier that is literally saying that my gains are 75% less effective?
And not to mention, 500 sounds like a big deal even without my modifier being in the fucking negatives.
I'm screwed.
[Oh come on, you got a massive Magic boost from it though!]
...
Are you serious?
"Oh yes, the Magic boost is great. I'm just going to fuck all of my enemies because I'm too weak to hurt them any other way. Better yet that I'm probably going to become a one-pump chump because of this 'Perk'!"
The System was quiet for a moment, and I could hear the metaphorical blinking happening behind the screens before Gabriel realised the implications.
[Oh...Oh! You are positively fucked, my friend.]
[But if it is any consolidation, because of this new Perk, the [Eromancer] class has been changed to make it so that instead of using your ENDurance and VITality to calculate your um...Release, it goes by every 10 Levels?]

You do know I don't really care about the sex part of my powers right now, don't you?
Sure, MHA has a few hot girls, but my mind right now is getting that Perk gone. Pleasantries like Lust isn't something I'm going to be able to partake in.

My luck is so amazing; I realised with a large grin splitting my face. For a moment, I had even forgotten about my [Heavenly Restriction]...
I was a Godslayer (or is it God Slayer? Does it matter how I say it?), and that was...
It was good, right? I didn't really watch Fairy Tail, but I knew God Slayer's could eat Dragon Slayer's Elements pretty easily, so it would stand to reason that I'm a badass right now, no?
I also knew that Dragon Slayer's could 'eat' their respective element, and the description for my [Wood God Slayer Magic] suggested that I could do the same.
Though, that is a bit strange. How would I eat it? Do I need to physically take a bite out of a tree, eat some bark?
It sounds disgusting...but I'm almost certain my biology will be altered to make it a less disgusting activity.
Not to mention that Magic is basically going to be my forte for now, and maybe forever?
Hm. I'm being practically set up to be a Mage; though I knew it was only because of shitty luck. And honestly...I didn't mind.
I could feel it. At first I didn't notice, but there was this sudden feeling, in this Void of nothing. A gentle whisper.
A feeling right underneath my skin. Like teeny-tiny spiders (despite how awful it sounded, it was surprisingly great).
Now...I basked in the warmth that my Magic – and how cool was that? – afforded me.
It felt nice, like laying down under the shade of a tree on a nice summer day. It tasted like a sweet fruit on my tongue, sounded like the rustling of leaves...
And I now knew –

[Stat Point Information...]
PHYSical Stats –
STR: Strength, the might of the physical body. This determines your lifting capacity, striking power and the amount of force you can physically output.
AGI: Agility, reflexes, dexterity, coordination, speed and accuracy. The higher this is, the more your reactions will grow. A Master of Agility is a master of Self.
END: Your Endurance, raise this to raise your physical defence; how tough your skin is, how much force you can withstand. 10 HP, 20 SP
VIT: Vitality is energy, it is your Life Force. Think of Magic as your mental power, and think Vitality your physical power! The stronger Vitality you have, the longer you live, and the more...'energetic' you will be~! 20 HP, 2 HPR, 50 SP, 2 SPR
MENtal Stats –
INT: Intelligence is how 'smart' you are. But how can one stat encompass something so abstract? Well, Intelligence is a measure of your Memory, how well you are able to pick up new skills, knowledge and how well you can apply that knowledge on paper. 200 MP
WIS: Wisdom – It is a word that is thrown around often. Sagely Wisdom, the Wisdom of an Old Man. But what is it? Well Wisdom is how well you can manipulate your surroundings to achieve what you want, it allows deeper insight into Social interactions, allows you to think abstractly to succeed in difficult situations. Wisdom let's you adapt to tough situations, and apply your Intelligence in a real world setting. 5 MPR
MISCellaneous Stats –
CHA: Charisma is the stat that embodies your physical and metaphysical attractiveness. From your voice, to your very presence itself. Use this to lead mighty warrior's with your heroicness, lay down your bloodlust on the strongest of enemies...or simply lay your lust in another manner.
SEN: You're sensory abilities, Sight, Smell, Touch, Taste and Hearing. Of course, it also affects you're minor senses and bring forth brand new ones!
LUCK: Luck controls how many events will be in your favour, and governs the quality and frequency of favourable opportunities. Increases drop rates and rarity drops.
That's ah...that's quite a bit of information. Though I couldn't help but wince at my physical stats.
2...
Seriously? Even though I'm meant to be an alien - which usually means being a Superhuman of some sort - I'm probably weaker than a...a child!
But then again, it seems like I am going to be a Child. Again.
Age: 4 Years Old
I couldn't help but sweatdrop. Of course, of course, just throw me in as a prepubescent mess of a man. God - I'm...I'm going to have to go through puberty again...
Closing my eyes, I prayed to the Gods and wished that my Gamer's Body would allow me a peaceful Teenage life without acne and spots.
How will this affect me, anyway? An adult brain in a child's body – and an Osmosian at that, a race known for mental Instability can't end well. Even with Gamer's Mind. And then you bring in [Primal Instincts]...
I'm absolutely not going to be the same person I was in my previous life. The thought was very sobering. That man is already dead.
Everything I was, the young man I could've been has been killed.
And in his place is...Dōka, Dōka Levin.
How did I feel about it? I don't know. Nobody has ever been in this situation before, so I couldn't help but feel...nothing. Except maybe a bit of sadness.
But, it's not a bad name, to be honest; it payed homage to the man, the myth, the legend Kevin Ethan Levin. And I'm quite happy to be compared to him.
And the name Dōka? It's alright. I don't know what it means, but it sounds pretty cool!
Okay, what next Gabriel? I feel like we're ready now, aren't we?
[Well...]
...
I don't like the sound of that.
Please, just tell me what you have to tell me. I'm ready for the bad news.
[It isn't bad news, per sé; but a certain Higher Up wants to test something out with you...]
Higher Up? Who the hell could be Higher Up than the System – ?
You know what, I'll ignore that bit, I don't want to worry about that right now.
So, they want me to be a guinea pig? What for? What do I 'need' to test?
[It's completely optional! But the Boss just wants to try out a...World Edit option. Basically it will massively change the world, but Canon should remain in tact.]
[...If you don't break it, that is.]
World Edit?
That sounds...dangerous as fuck. Although, the promise that Canon would stay relatively similar to what I know is somewhat comforting, it also, at the same time, isn't.
Changing an entire world, for an experiment...?
It sounds ethically questionable, but, also kind of fun.
Dammit, what do I get out of this?! Aside from being entertainment for a possibly Eldritch abomination far beyond my wildest nightmares?
[You'll be granted 5 Gacha Coins upon arrival to your World!]

The main thing I changed is that I actually randomised things this time around. The only 'rigged' things I implemented was giving him the 'Eromancer' Class - but is that rigged, if it's part of the story? - and the 'Sin of Lust' Trait. That Heavenly Restriction came out of nowhere for me, and yes, I did choose what Restriction to give him, but only because I didn't have a way to randomise H.R's as of writing this.
This chapter has been a blast for me. And to clarify some more things - I didn't make Dōka human, simply because I have grown tired of writing Human characters, and after reading reviews in my own stories and in others, I decided to take a chance...and it worked greatly!
I don't know how well this story will do to begin with, but I'll ask this question anyway; what kind of dungeons should I use? Because Dōka is an Osmosian now, I'm not sure on the Ben 10 themed dungeons. Should I make natural dungeons instead so it's more difficult? Make a normal 'zombie dungeon' or what?
Finally, before this A.N get's too long (it probably already is), feel free to read the original 'An Eromancer's Journey', I wouldn't recommend it, but you can anyway. The plot for this story is so different that it doesn't really matter.
Peace! [Final Word Count; 5,516]
