~8 years ago~, Raira academy, band room

A lonesome grand piano sat at the front of the band room, it looked beautiful: well taken care of, in tune, yet had sheet music scattered on it. A lanky young man with raven hair stood at the entrance of Raira's band room. His sienna brown eyes fixated on the piano. Slowly, he walked over towards it and sat on the cushioned seat directly in front of the piano. Taking his left hand, gently touching one of the keys, a beautiful, and rich Bb came out. A small came to his face, and started to slowly play a happy waltz. Another young man, with slightly longer, light brown hair and glasses was attracted to the piano. He had been delivering papers to a teacher, when he heard the waltz. His intuition told him it might be his friend, Izaya, and he was correct.

He stood at the entrance of the band room and stood there, leaning, and eyes closed, listening to Izaya play the piano with grace, but remaining lively. "Ne, Shinra-san." Izaya started, his fingers stopping. "Do you think I can learn another song on this piano?" Shinra's eyes opened, and he walked closer to his best friend. "Sure you can! I'm no pianist like you, but you definitely could!" Izaya chuckled at his friend's enthusiasm. "Why should I keep playing if the person I want to hear it hates me?"

The smile he previously had on his face slowly dropped. Shinra looked at Izaya, sadness coming to his eyes as Izaya started to play the piano again, but not as graceful nor as lively as he previously did. "Shizuo will listen one day, and probably say "YOU SUCK FLEA!"" Shinra and Izaya both chuckled at that.

Present time, Shinjuku

The raven haired male, now 25, sat on his bed, eyes dully focusing on nothing particular. His mind was fuzzy from the dream/memory he had, along with a nagging feeling to play his piano again. Slowly, he sat up, his coat hanging off his shoulder, and his hair slightly messy. Not that it mattered to him. He was bored, on a Saturday morning, and wanted to play a piano or something, maybe even toy with his 'least' favorite monster.

Standing up with a long sigh, he walked towards his bedroom door, opened it, and went out into his massive living room. He gave his bitch of an assistant, Namie the day off. He was alone… In this massive apartment of his. He stared at the room he had, he had enough money to buy and pay off a grand piano, but wasn't sure he should do it or not. Sighing again, he decided to go for a walk and hopefully see a piano in public or something.

He longed to feel the cool keys under his fingers, and missed the way he could play a cheerful Chopin waltz. He longed for it. Shutting and locking his from door, he whistled merrily down the streets of Shinjuku, and down to Ikkebukuro, Izaya knew of a mall that had a piano there, just sitting there.

The mall

Izaya smiled, with a small blush as a piano came into his sight. It was a beautiful one, black exterior that looked a bit too glossy, but that was okay. "Alright! Let's do this.." Izaya whispered to himself, taking a seat at the piano. He always felt a little nervous when he played anything in front of others. Thump… Thump…. His heart beat, slowly increasing as nerves in his stomach went wild.

He brought a shaky hand up to the piano and a soft note came out. His face grew a little red as some people stared. 'Too late now..' He thought. He couldn't think of a song until three notes popped up into his head. 'Wasn't that a mix between interstellar and experience though?' Izaya thought as his hands took over the piano with the songs. People crowded around him, some taking video, others chatting online about it. Izaya had his eyes closed, so he didn't notice a thing.

Shizuo POV

Shizuo was a gentle giant. He hated all things violent, and he hated that damned informant named Izaya. A talentless scumbag. That's what Shizuo thought of him. Shizuo and his coworker, Tom, had the day off. "I'm so fucking bored!" Shizuo threw his head back and complained. "My nerves have been all over the place because of a certain flea, he hasn't been here in 'Bukkuro for a month now, and I think he's scheming!"

"Calm down Shizuo, he might've just been busy or decided to stop coming here." Tom shrugged, trying to calm his friend down. "We can go to the mall since we have a day off." Shizuo sighed and gave a small smile to his friend. "Yeah, let's do that."

Both POV's

Izaya had amassed a large crowd now. He had stopped playing what he played before and now moved onto 'Misty', a jazz piano piece. The tall blonde and Tom had walked into the mall and were shocked to hear a beautiful piano. People rarely play the piano. 'Yet that smell…. It smells like that damned flea!' Shizuo grunted in anger, but tried to suppress it and find who was playing that piano.

It didn't take a super long time to find that crowd around the pianist. Shizuo started to shake, steam practically coming out of his ears as he saw who played that piano. He was about to start yelling when Tom told him no. "Look at Izaya…." He looked tranquil. At peace, his playing was so fluid, and expressive. Shizuo will admit, he never saw Izaya like that before. 'He looks so bea- wait…. What the hell am I thinking?' "I've never seen him like that, I didn't even know he could play the piano, especially this expressive.." He trailed off as the piano suddenly stopped.

Those damn sienna brown eyes were staring at him. "Hiiii, Shizu-chan, I didn't know you liked my piano that much!" That damn Izaya giggled, he rose from the piano seat and started to walk closer to Shizuo, a malicious smile spread across his face. Toe to toe now, Shizuo's hand was shaking while glaring down at the flea, who had his chest pressed against his.

"Why don't you come after me, Shi-zu-chan?"
