Deus Vult, BETCH
Chapter 1

"Your sentence... Death"
I close my eyes-

And hear the upheaval of the axe...

...

I find myself in the middle of a dirt road, surrounded by green hills and tree's. Not... What I expected when I died, again. I was honeslty expecting hell, or heaven. Im still in my armor aswell, and my claymore is still strapped to my belt.

The first thought to pop into my head; Why am I not dead? The next, where am I?

Hills, Tree's, and a dirt road. Thats all there is, a far cry from where I previously was.

This is weird.
I dont like it.
Its fishy

But theres not really anything else to do but walk, and hopefully find civilization before sun down. Information would be good, but the main reason, I dont want to be camping outside in an unknown wilderness without the proper gear or supplies. I look up.

Its early, I can tell that much... I got a good amount of time. Time to get walking.

...

Onwards~ Ever onwards~ As we glory in his naa~aaa~aaaaame.

...

Take me hooome~ Country roads...

...

I need to sharpen my sword when I get the chance, hm

...

I sit still, staring up at the sky. The skies clear, the sun is high. Its a beautiful day.
I can hear birds chirping. I can hear the wind blowing. I bathe myself in warmth.

Peace, thats what Im feeling.

Its so peaceful.

I take off my helmet, laying it beside me, unclipping my sword and doing the same.
Afew moments of rest... I lies back.

My eyes close and my thoughts wander...

"Nice going kid, care to join us in drink?"
"Welcome to the band kid"

"One last push men! Charge!"

"We put your mighty soul to rest, peace to you"

"I failed, I-Im sorry..."

My eyes snap open, I was dreaming... Crap, I fell asleep. I look up at the sky, the sun is nestled in the very middle.
Dammit.

I guess I was more tired than I thought.

Stand up, clip my sword to my belt, and put my helmet back on, doing up the strap. I sigh. Time to go.

...

Boredom, its the undoing of every man. Thats what I think atleast.
I value peace, and I crave those moments of solitude. But there is a strict line between content peace, and boredom. Walking alone through a beautiful land-scape is peaceful and thearputic... For the first few minutes.

Ah well, I've found the first sign of civilization (Besides the road).

A large black cloud is drifting over the horizon.
Good, I'll find some answers to where I am, and find out what Im going to do from there on... Im strangely sure that that cloud is man-made. Ah well, my gut is rarely wrong.

(This is a lie)

I continue down the dirt road, trudging up the last hill that blocked my view from the source of the smoke.
I crest the hill afew minutes later.

And see a village on fire.

...

A great fire rages, hopping from building to building. The great black clouds of smoke drift up into sky, dissapting.
A smell assaults my noise, even from this far.

Blood. Burning bodies.
Death.

This is eerily familar...
Smoke, fire. I can hear the screams. A bell rings...

Dammit.

Not again.
I start running.

Their screams follow close behind.

...

My armored boots impact the ground rapidly as sprint down the dirt road, my hand on the hilt of my sword. I spot a group of people in the corner of my eye, but I ignore them, if their not an immediate threat, ignore them. Just get to the village, and help.

Screams. I can hear them. I grit my teeth.

Run, run, run!

I stop at the village entrance.
Their are four corpses, All men, dressed in Ill fitting armor, their faces frozen in fear and pain. One is nearly beheaded, two others had their chests carved open, the last had turned to run, and was stabbed through the spine.

Blood seeped towards me.
The villages screams tore through my skull.

My hands trembled.

"You bitch!" I hear a cruel voice, and the sound of flesh upon flesh. A scream of pain, a knife drawn from its sheathe, the sound of metal piercing flesh- another scream- a gurgle. Silence. My hands tremble. "The whore slapped me!" A laugh.

Rage took over.

My sword slid from its sheathe.

No thought, no time to react. I leapt from the smoke. There were three, one crouching over a dead womens body, another drinking from a bottle to the left, and the last staring in shock, right at me. My sword smashes through his skull- Blood and brain matter splattering across my armor. "What the-?!" The one crouching over the corpse stumbles backwards, his eyes wide with terror. His headless corpse meets the ground.

One left. Drunk and stupid, he sits petrified on the boxes, his hands trembling, the bottle falls from his grasp. "N-no! Please!" His hands fly up to in an attempt to stop the oncoming blade. His hands fall to the ground, he screams- and I reach out and crush his throat.

Three Dead

I sheath my blade, and turn around to the dead woman. Her eyes are wide, I see the bleeding red line across her throat. Her dress is torn. I close her eyes, and cover her body. I was to slow, to slow-! I failed. I failed.
Not again.

I promised never again.

"No no no nonononono, dont go, dont go, dont go, please-please, dont leave me-"

I stand.

Such unholy filth must not persist.

I'll kill them.
All of them.

Chrom saw the man sprinting down the road and wondered why he was in such a hurry, ah well, it wasnt really any of his buisness, was it? Thats what he thought, until his sister asked why South Town was on fire, it was at that moment that Chrom understood why the knight was in such a hurry.

Bandits

'Dammit' Thought Chrom 'Why are there bandits here-?! At this time?' Running with him was his sister Lissa, his bodyguard Frederick, and the woman they had just met, apparently called Robin.

Chrom had no idea who the Knight was, but he dearly hoped he would be able to protect the villagers until they got their.
Unsheathing Falchion, Chrom sighed, just when things had been looking up.

Just his luck.

Sneaky Faisal: Yes, a tad edgy for the first chapter, but hey, what can ya do? Im trying to get it across that this dudes got problems, which I think I was pretty succesful at. Anyhows. I feel like leaned into the 'ooooh, bad memories, me mad' a tad to much... Whatever. I aint got no update schedule, I just whenever.

Oh, and warning, Ive never played Fire Emblem: Awakening, or any Fire Emblems for that matter, Ive just read a couple fanfics and watched a couple vids. So expect some very linear, and not deviating stuff- ah well, it'll deviate, but probably not by much. Anyway.
