[THREE YEARS AGO]
[SHINJUKU, JAPAN - 11:55 PM]
11/5/2026 Hospital, Shinjuku, Japan Morning - Cloudy
First Person POV
The beeps. I can hear the beeps coming from the monitor next to the bed. This was where I was at… a hospital where the woman with black hair was resting there as I was looking at her. She is my mother. Her name was Hishiri Adashino, and I was her only son, her prodigy, her apprentice. I see myself looking at her as she begins to slowly open her eyes and shift her head to look at me with her kindest smile. She starts to slowly lift her hand to feel my cheeks. But, she was getting rid of the tears on my face. Was I really crying? My emotions are forcing me to become vulnerable. But my heart hurts from this pain. A fear that I'm losing the people I loved. And death would come for my mother. Then, she lets her hand down on the bed as the heartbeat monitor starts to flatline… A long beep as it hits zero… She had already closed her eyes with a smile on her face… This was her final goodbye to me. Her love towards me. I was silent, but left distraught. Knowing that she had placed great care towards me and the ward that she took in a few years back. And so, I took a deep breath. To fully accept the truth and the reality itself. This is also my goodbye to my mother as well. I turned around and made my way out of the room that my mother was in. I felt devastated. As soon as I opened the door and left the room. I found myself in the hallway of the hospital on the second floor where a particular young woman stood there as she was waiting for me. She is a young woman with black long hair tied into a half up and red eyes. She wore a black fur jacket along with navy shorts and brown boots. Yet, she was looking at me with her straight face but remained serious.
"So… she had passed away, I assume?" The young woman asked me… her name is Misaya Adashino Reiroukan… Once a Ward into our family as an orphan. My mother took her in to be part of the family. Yet, she had her arms crossed as she looked down a little to pause for a moment and looked back at me. "If so… Then you know the reason. Our mother has intended that I am to become the next heir of your family. That means I am to take over the duties that Hishiri has planned out… even by means of returning to the Clock Tower."
"I… I see. I'm sure she'll be proud of you the moment you carry on her legacy, Misaya. I… I just…" I had a hard time speaking to her but she stopped me.
"No, that's enough. I understand your pain and loss of this. I, too, am in pain. But we all must move on. The more you bottle up those emotions of yours… You'll begin to lose yourself who you are. Revenge is a weapon, it'll consume you the more you delve into it. So please, for the sake of me… And for our mother's sake. Let us move on. I'll see you tomorrow back at the residence…"
Misaya said those words to me as she left as I planted my arms to cover my face against the wall. I began to silently weep in mental agony as I tried to repress these bottled up emotions but I failed. I continue to sob continuously as I can feel the sadness and the pain swelling up in my heart. But the more I delve into this revenge despite Misaya's warning that was heeded towards me… I let my anger… my hatred… my animosity gets the best of me. The visions begin to show me a mysterious person who defeated our mother the night he stormed into our residence. He had black hair and glasses with sharp features. Even wore a black shirt and red pants… His hand was covered in blood… her blood. He was a killer with a smirk on his face… He enjoyed killing. His face… I hate him… He was the very reason who took our mother away from me… As soon as I grit my teeth… I spoke my words the very night that I've made my own decision…
"Beryl Gut… I swear… I swear… that the moment I find you… No matter where you're hiding… I'll kill you…! I will FUCKING KILL YOU…!"
And on that very night I shed a tear from my eyes… This was my vow. My revenge. My hatred. And my weakness. I failed to protect her. I failed my family. No matter what… I will kill him. Those were my shouts of declaration. As soon my eyes were closed as the clock ticked forward… Everything becomes silent until the very moment… The time finally hits at the top… Silence.
4/7/2029 Church, Aalborg, Denmark Midnight - Foggy
[PRESENT DAY]
[AALBORG, DENMARK - 12:00 AM]
And so… I open my eyes as the clock continues to tick through time. Right… it was the past three years… My memories had reminded me of that very day. Those past… I will never forget. I find myself here, below the church where I came here for a very reason. Had to convince the priest named Karabo Frampton. A member of the Holy Church who was selected to become the Overseer of this new kind of Holy Grail War… Before my arrival to the European country of Denmark here in the city of Aalborg's small town of Hasseris. Misaya… the current heir of the Adashino Family was eventually stricken with the curse when she was an orphan. She used to have a previous family but… her deceased father has given her his curse that will soon consume her body… and kill her. That is the very moment where she had given me a purpose… To participate in the Holy Grail War happening here in Denmark. And that is why I came here. I looked at the old mirror leaning against the wall as I was simply leaning at the wall next to it. I had black messy hair and brown eyes as I wore my brown leather jacket with a black t-shirt under it and black pants. And as for my name… My name is Jin Adashino. A magus, and the son of my mother Hishiri. I was trained by my mother to learn her family magecraft at the age of 13. I ended up becoming more of a prodigy as the studies she had tutored me was arduous. But again, that's all in the past. I checked my phone to see the time… Just as exactly as I intended. I was alone in this dingy old basement of the church riddled with debris and cobwebs. But, there was the circle that was already drawn by me in preparation for this moment. Of course I had to wait but this was the only choice. I remember Karabo's words… that this Holy Grail War is completely different and unique compared to the previous ones. He even mentioned the recent as it took place in the American man-made city of Siesta five years ago. In this war… I am to summon two Servants… That was something that I've never heard of. But thanks to Misaya's heed, I was given two catalysts before I traveled here. I placed those two catalysts separate from each other in order to get it sorted. One catalyst was the piece of the Round Table. And the other was a single crop of golden wheat. And so, I stood to look at the ritual circle and lended out my right hand and began my incantation…
Set.
For the elements, silver and iron.
For the foundation, stone and the Archduke of Pacts.
Raise a wall for the wind that shall fall.
Close the gates of the four directions.
Come forth from the crown… and follow the forked road leading to the Kingdom.
Fill, fill, fill, fill, fill!
The summoning circle begins to glow faintly. But as I continued this chant, it was becoming much stronger as I felt my right hand burning into itself as it created a Command Seal which the symbol appears to be a set of six wings with a red dot in the very middle. Yet, I continue to ignore this pain and speak more.
Repeat five times.
But when each is filled, destroy it.
The circle glows more brightly as the debris around me begins to levitate slowly as I felt the surge of wind raging around the circle and me as I stood my ground.
Heed my words.
My will creates your body… and your sword creates my destiny.
If you heed the Grail's call and obey my will and reason, then answer me!
Thus, come forward, O' Protectors of the Balance!
The moment I spoke my final chants… The brightness of the circle had completely engulfed the whole area below the church. As a few seconds have passed… the light wanes and dies down completely as the billowing mist fades away the moment I open my eyes in surprise… I've done it… I summoned my two Servants as they would finally reveal themselves. It was a male with gray long hair that was tied back and a silver plated armor with a mismatch of leather and steel. He opens his light emerald eyes as his right arm is entirely silver and engraved everywhere while his left arm feels more intact. His sword was sheathed on his left hip as well. As for the other Servant… It was a beautiful woman with long blonde hair that reached down her legs but the hair was tied into an elegant braid. She had a green amulet around her neck and clothing that is inspired by the times of Ancient Greek. She carried this large golden scythe with a curved sickle blade as well. This was the moment the two would finally stand up on their own and open their eyes to look at me.
"Servant Saber, have answered your summons." Saber asked as the other spoke.
"Servant Caster, have answered your summons." Caster said as well.
"I ask of you. Are you my Master?" The two spoke in unison as I remained calm and composed.
"Of course. I am your Master. My name is Jin Adashino. I'll be looking forward to working together. With it, we will obtain the Holy Grail." I introduced myself to the two. But, the door opened behind us as we saw someone coming.
It was a dark-skinned, elderly man in his seventies who cuts a tall and imposing figure with his Holy Church garb. He has a prominent scar that runs across his right brow and eye, taking up much of the length of his face. Yet, he wears a black blindfold to cover his sights. That man is indeed Karabo Frampton.
"Father Karabo. As I have done. I've succeeded in summoning two Servants just as I told you." I said to him as he seemed to be aware of it.
"Indeed you have done so, Adashino." Karabo continued. "From what I can see… These Servants you've summoned have potential as I can see in them."
"They are. However, you are to register me into this Double Sub-Category Holy Grail War whatever you call this. My reason being here is only simple and I intend to win it regardless. So, what say you in your response?" I spoke with my straightforward intentions as he seemingly closed his eyes and sighed.
"While you have the ambition and confidence regarding the circumstances… Then I shall make it official. Jin Adashino, Master of Saber and Caster. So rejoice, you shall be welcomed in this Holy Grail War." Karabo continued. "But let me warn you this… there are other participants with already summoned Servants who will be hunting you down here on this dreadful night. Now then, be on your way… and prepare for what's to come. I wish you the best of luck in this war."
"Thank you, Father Karabo. We shall take our leave." I said to the father as I looked at my weapon that I had brought with me from the Adashino manor that was kept away for the longest time since my birth.
Rengoku… meaning Purgatory in Japanese. The sword itself was sheathed in its black-gold trimmed sheath with the sword's length of 83cm. Yet, it is considered as a hybrid between a katana and a nodachi. But this particular black, sleek katana is special since my mother would call this one a Mystic Code. In other words… It is completely sentient and intelligent. For some reason… I can't fathom why my mother would find this sword. It's all too mysterious of why she kept it away when we traveled back to Japan after my time there in the UK. However, no one cannot wield the sword but I can. Anyone can even listen to his words as well. Yet, it all feels strange. I took the sword the moment I held it, proceeding to sheathe it properly on the right side of my back in case I should draw it if we're attacked. Fortunately, he's sleeping so I wouldn't have to listen to his ramblings… for now.
"Saber, Caster. We leave immediately." I said to the two as they simply nodded as they would ignore Karabo the moment we left the basement and headed upstairs in order to leave the church.
Hasseris, Aalborg, Denmark Midnight - Foggy
The weather here tonight has changed slightly as the vision here is reduced as the mist swallowed up the small town here. This fog felt natural the moment we stood outside of the church's gate entrance. With that settled… I think it's time for me to talk to them. Or rather, one of my Servants wanted to talk to me.
"You'd seem serious about this the moment you summoned us, yes?" Caster spoke as she continued with the most kind but gleeful personality I've ever experienced. "But If I were to think about you. I think you're just the adorable young man that I adore so much. Aren't you a good child?~"
"I'm not a child." I sighed with embarrassment. "I'm an adult. I see you're the most calm one, Saber."
"That I am, Master. Now that we are at your command. What are your next plans?" Saber asked me with courtesy. Though I'm willing to lay out what's next, my arrival here in Denmark had seemingly tired me out.
"I have a home that I manage to own. It's not that far but it's close to the main city of Aalborg itself. Caster, is it possible you can set up a Bounded Field there once we arrive?" I asked Caster about it as she seemingly nodded with a kind smile on her face.
"Of course, Master. I can attempt to cast a Bounded Field within the neighborhood and your home. Think of it as a double layer. But rest assured, Master. As a Caster, I am capable of anything. But please remember. I'm not too well at combat…" Caster seemingly frowned at that moment of what she said. She's right. Casters cannot fight in direct combat which is their downside. But what they make up for is their expertise in powerful magecraft. Whether Casters hide in their workshops, or sometimes appear outside. That's all on them.
"That's fine. You can provide us support if you need to. I fear we'll face our opponents head on if we're not too careful. For now, heading back home is our priority. And I almost forgot. Tomorrow… I want to confirm and know your True Names. As your Master, I want to know everything about you two. Do we have an agreement?" I explained to them but also told these two about their names.
"While I do think this is your right choice during the day. But as your Servant, I am obligated to provide the answers you need. Caster, I assume you agree as well?" Saber looked at his ally as she responded.
"I have no objections, either. Now then, our dear Master is tired. Why not head home and call it a night? I might as well set up a workshop. As long as you have a backyard with the abundance of crops or nature, that is." Demeter suggested as I simply focused on the task at hand.
"C'mon, let's not waste time. I need some sleep so I can start a decent day-" I was about to finish talking until one of my Servants noticed to see what's coming.
"Master!" Saber intervened as he quickly stood in front of me the moment he quickly unsheathed his sword as he blocked the incoming attack.
[CLANG!]
The moment I saw it within my eyes along with Caster reacting to it… It was a blade of a spear as sparks from the blades flew about. Saber had pushed his enemy back as the spearman leaped back as he flipped backwards and landed on top of the street lamp as he twirls his spear as he kept his balance as he held the spear to relax on his shoulder.
"I see you must be the participant in this Holy Grail War, is it not?" The mysterious blonde hair person spoke as he wielded a spear on the right. "I was merely patrolling around this small part of this neighborhood until I felt a presence of your summoning."
The spear-wielding Servant appears to be a youth with blonde hair that goes down to his waist and deep green eyes. He sports a tight, sleeveless shirt, and disconnected sleeves that lead into fingerless gloves. He wears a silver armor for his torso and a blue shoulder piece along with a brown belt around his torso connected by the shoulder piece, which matches the waist portion of his skirt, which is split in sections. A silver loop connects two belts and a third strip of cloth that hangs about around his waist together. He possesses white armor for his legs that go up to his thighs, where he wears black undershorts. He even wields a deep purple spear with a silver white blade at the very end.
"I don't know who you are. But if you intend to get in our way. Then I suggest you fall back. This is not our fight for this unfateful night… Lancer." Saber attempted to persuade him as Lancer proceeded to twirl his spear and rested his weapon upon his right shoulder.
"Now, now. You must be sorely misunderstood. But I'm starting to get that feeling with that silver arm of yours. Feels familiar but… If you're trying to ask me to stay out of your way…" Lancer then spun his spear and readied his stance with a small smirk on his face. "Then I'll have to politely decline. You will not reach that church any further. Therefore, Saber… I will be your opponent!"
[FWOOSH!]
"Master! Stay back-" Saber warned his Master as his opponent was already within his range. He unsheathes his sword quickly to block the attack, causing him to be launched into the air as he was sent flying as Lancer gives chase. The speed was fast as I couldn't even blink for a moment.
"Damn it… Saber!" I tried to call for his Servant but it was no use… "Caster! Go help Saber! I'll catch up once I'm there!"
Rotunden Park, Aalborg, Denmark Midnight - Clear Sky
Third Person POV
Meanwhile somewhere in an open field park known as Rotunden where Saber was falling as he managed to brace the impact after his opponent Lancer had flung him away to have a one versus one duel. Saber proceeded to stab the sword to the ground to slow the speed down as he nearly almost hit the tree. He stood up where Lancer was already diving at Saber at raging speed. He ducked and slid past him when the spear had cut down the tree in an instant along with the small crater impact. The smoke cleared away by Lancer as he rested his spear onto his shoulders.
"Now, this is a perfect location for us to have a fair duel. Is it not?" Lancer asked the sword-wielding Servant as he continued to remain still with a stoic look on his face. "Not much of a talker, huh? Tell me…"
Lancer then uses his spear to point at the right silver arm that Saber has.
"You wield a sword with your left hand. If I were to assume… That arm is indeed a prosthetic but something feels rather off… I can sense it. I don't know what it is but as a Knight myself… I wish to test your skills. So I hope you're prepared for this…!" Lancer then dashed towards him as Saber quickly raised his sword up to deflect the attack as the latter continued to pressure on.
The only problem within this fight is that Sabers somewhat have a problem dealing with Lancer. The small advantage of Lancer-class Servants is their fantastic reach due to the status of their weapon. While the thrusting power is powerful, what lacks the most is the spear's effectiveness when it comes to swinging as it requires the blade to properly cut open a wound. But Sabers on the other hand are well-rounded at most as they excel in their swordplay. With the combination of slashes and thrusts, it is entirely possible to outmatch the latter in terms of strength. And Sabers are widely known to be powerful in the Holy Grail War. As the fight continues with continuous flurries of slashes as the blades meet each other with sparks flying each clash. Saber had already fought back using a particular fighting stance that looks similar to fencing as his sword can be used in both means of slashes and thrusts but he maintained his composure as he proceeded to swing his own blade at Lancer as he dodged and blocked the attack. The two would step back to keep themselves a distance. Yet, the two would be near the fountain plaza near the park as Lancer smirked. Saber held his sword at the ready but Lancer already had better plans…
"An impressive swordplay, Saber. I must admit. You're truly a worthy opponent but… You haven't seen what I'm capable of yet." Lancer smirked as he used his other hand to concentrate as he slowly lifted his hand up.
Suddenly, Saber noticed something rising from the fountain as the water began to float in the air as it created multiple droplets of fountain water. Some big and some small. He wasn't prepared for what's next but Lancer then pointed his spear at his enemy as the floating balls of water began to shoot itself like a speeding hail of bullets. Saber only reacted to take a step to the right and made a run for it in order to avoid getting hit as the water bullets impacted the ground but it wasn't able to hit him. Then, the water bullets were out after a few seconds as Saber had begun chasing him down as he was readying himself with his blade. Just as he thrusted his blade, Lancer only moved his head aside to avoid getting out of harm's way, slightly cutting a tiny portion of his blonde hair strand. However, Saber's blade had made a small cut on his cheek as Lancer quickly took a dash back with a backflip. He took a second to feel his cheek where he was seen bleeding a little as he proceeded to wipe it off. But… he was smiling. There was no hostility at all.
"Amazing… Amazing, Saber! I never knew you have this talent you bear. Tis' is truly a wonderful battle to live for." Lancer continued as he placed his hand to his chest. "I must thank you, Saber. For letting me battling you with no restriction. I know my Master doesn't mind but he's a busy man at all times."
Saber didn't say anything at all but Lancer was willing to have a small conversation.
"Yet, I still can't figure out what your silver arm is… Unless you'd be kind to speak about this one. Would you not?" Lancer had asked him as Saber… him being a knight and all. Knights were all about honor. But, he didn't mind sharing information to his enemy.
"My silver arm… once belonged to Naudha, the God of War. A wizard had implanted this arm for me to compensate for the previous one which I lost. You intend to steal it from me?" Saber asked him as he pondered but shook his head.
"Certainly not. But I'm aware of this now. To think the arm belongs to the God of War itself… Tell me, are you aware of our Celtic culture?" Lancer asked him as he got no response. "No? Very well. As I was saying… You can keep that arm of yours. I merely seek for an honorable duel. Since this is our first duel here on this fateful night that you've proven to have some capabilities. This is where I'll finish you in one fell swoop."
"You don't mean…?" Saber knew of what he just said…
"That's right. I'll be unleashing my Noble Phantasm on you. If you can't unleash your own Noble Phantasm coming from that arm. There is no chance for you of your guaranteed survival." Lancer then gathers the surrounding prana within this area as he is twirling his spear as the pool of water appears below him as it swirls around the moment Lancer had aimed his spear as the tip of it gathers enough water to create a orb filled with water as it was charging up. However…
First Person POV
I made it with Caster to the park where the battle was taking place thanks to the sound of blades clashing. But at that very moment we arrive… Lancer was doing something as Caster had informed me of what's going on as she remained calm but serious.
"Master… You must turn back. The enemy is about to unleash his Noble Phantasm… If you don't leave now, you'll get caught in the crossfire." Caster warned me of this happening as I saw Servant Saber in a stance until he noticed me.
"Master! Get out of there! Now!" Saber told me.
"I don't care. I refuse to lose any of you!" I continued with a stern look on my face. " I couldn't give two shits about it! Saber! If he's using his Noble Phantasm… Then use it against him as well! SO DO IT!"
"…Very well, Master." Saber nodded as he looked back at his enemy as his silver arm began to activate itself, glowing into a golden light shimmering with brilliance. And thus… he begins a chant from his Noble Phantasm… "Devour my soul and come forth, O silver star…"
His glowing arm begins to turn into a blade as he is ready to unleash it towards the enemy Lancer. Then… the two Servants would finally unleash it as they reveal the names…
"Switch On… Airgetlám!"
"Mac Au Luin!"
Lancer shoots out a beam of water from his spear that was speeding towards him but Saber thrusted his arm blade directly into Lancer's Noble Phantasm. Then, it created a reaction as the bubble of water began to expand the moment it touched Saber's arm. But his arm glows brightly until…
[BOOM!]
The burst reaction was set off as the beam of golden light rose from the sky as I felt the violent wind until I started to lose my footing the moment I slipped, being pushed back by the force.
"Master!" Caster called out to me the moment I was blown back until the back of my head hit the ground as my eyes were completely shut and the sound stopped. I have passed out…
I suddenly opened my eyes when I began to check my surroundings… A grand foyer here in this manor. That's right… This is the Adashino Residence that my mother has owned here in Shinjuku. The sky is clear as day from the windows, too. But, I suddenly looked at something where I saw my younger self… being trained by my mother Hishiri. This was the day that she was willing to teach me her magecraft but… I can see myself screaming in fear the moment my younger self as he proceeded to hide behind my mother who still wore her traditional japanese clothing.
"O-Oka-san… I-I'm scared of snakes… I… I can't do it…" My younger self said in fear as she proceeded to comfort him with headpats.
"Don't be, Jin." Hishiri continued with her kindness on her face. "Everyone has fears and must overcome them. I, too, have learned to master this type of magecraft. You are my one and only. I only needed you to learn to control your familiar to the fullest."
To this day, I was still afraid of snakes. My mother called it Ophidiophobia. Extreme fear of snakes. They'll slither around and do their own thing. Get too close to them, they'll bite you out of self-defense or straight up hostility. My younger self would never understand the nature of these slithering reptiles. But I began to see myself shyly preparing myself in front of a wooden target and what's in front of him was that white cloth… My mother uses them as part of her technique. So my younger self proceeds to focus and let two of his hands out as the magic circuits on his arm activates as the white cloth begins to move and twitch for a moment until it finally forms into a white snake. However, I can see the face. He looks focused but… afraid. Terribly afraid. However, his magecraft would backfire on him as the white snake would retaliate as it was ready to bite him as he stops and screams until Hishiri uses her own white snake to bite it to make it stop. Then… the snake turns back into cloth as my younger self begins to kneel down and cry.
"You almost had it, Jin. There is no need for crying. The more you hold onto that fear. One day… you might lose yourself. And I refuse to lose you." Hishiri calmly said to him as she started with a hug as a way to comfort him. Then, I noticed a younger version of Misaya. Indeed, this was the day after she was taken in by Hishiri to become a Ward of the family three days ago.
"Jin. There is no need to be afraid. You can do this. Or rather… you're too scared to admit that you're a useless mage?" Misaya simply teased him as he didn't like it.
"S-Stop it, Misaya! I… I'm… I'm trying… Okay?" My younger self would only whine upon being teased but Hishiri didn't like that.
"Misaya. Please, mind your manners. He is still training and has yet to master the magecraft. Soon, you'll see your brother reach its potential. Isn't that right?" My mother would say to me with her kind words. As a way to reassure me.
"Y-Yes. B-But the snakes…" He would worry about them as Hishiri shook her head.
"Do not fret. One day, you'll soon learn." Hishiri said as I started to feel something in my head… I feel dizzy. The visions of the past had paused in time as it was starting to drag me back into reality as my vision cuts to black…
I started to slowly open my eyes where I noticed Caster who was with me as she was using her hand as it was glowing green light… Am I… being healed? She was smiling at me but I quickly got up as she noticed.
"M-Master! Are you unharmed?" Caster asked me as I felt the slight pain on my head.
"Yeah… I'm fine… To think both Noble Phantasms would collide at that very moment. This was the most unexpected by far… Agh…!" I struggled to get up as Caster helped me so. I have to thank her later.
"Hot damn, Jin… You really gave me a rude awakening, did ya?" The voice of a masculine pretty boy-like voice spoke coming from the sword that anyone can hear. It was none other than Rengoku sheathed on my back.
"I sure did, Ren. Sorry that I woke you up. Right now, a fight just happened just recently." I said to my sword as we looked at the aftermath. Both Servants were still standing as Saber and Lancer drew their breath as they struggled.
"Lancer! That's enough. Master knew you used your Noble Phantasm and isn't too happy about it…" The voice of a cool young man spoke as he was riding on a white horse. But… this person is a Servant who wears a mask but anyone can see his eyes.
"Ahh, Rider. Pray for me. I merely asked my opponent for a test of strength." Lancer apologized to him lightly as he shook his head in disappointment.
"Honestly… Lancer. While I do appreciate your desire to duel. But we are to retreat for now because of this. Let us make haste." Rider continued as he looked at me the moment he got on his steed. "You must be a Master, correct?"
"Yeah…" I replied.
"I sincerely apologize after this happened. With my arrival, we are not here to fight you. It is unfair for Masters like you to get attacked this early on your first night. But know this, should we cross paths once more. Then we will properly introduce ourselves as enemies. As for our Class Names, I am Rider. And the one you've met during the midst of battle is Lancer. We serve under one Master." Rider introduced himself as Lancer stood up back on his feet as I was skeptical about it.
"Who's your Master, then? Surely they would be hiding back at their homes and doing nothing but watch from the sidelines." I had my arms crossed in thought until another voice came out of nowhere.
"That would be me.~" The voice of a young woman spoke as we noticed to our right. She arrived at the park just to arrive here out of the blue. Her appearance is somewhat outrageous. Something I've not seen in my entire life. She has pink hair with purple tips and wears her white sweet lolita fashion that makes her stand out. She even wore her star-shaped eyepatch on her right eye. Yet, she was smiling as if nothing is out of the ordinary. "Sucks to be you to be attacked in the middle of the night on your first summoning. We all saw what happened here. Hmm… By the looks of you… You must be a mage. Are you from the Clock Tower? Or the Mages Association in London?"
"No. Neither. Who even are you anyways? Are you a Master with these two Servants?" I asked her as she nodded.
"Thaaaaaaat's right!~ Yvette L. Lehrman! Master of both Lancer and Rider! Pleasure to meet you. As much as I want to know you. We'll be heading back now. But remember, we will meet again the next time we meet. So see you tomorrow.~" Yvette then graciously bows as she gets on Rider's horse as the Rider Servant himself sighed. He then makes the horse gallop off to leave the park.
"Saber… Let us continue the duel tomorrow if by chance. Just remember, you're not the only one fighting me. But there's others as well. And one more thing… I have no need of knowing your identity regardless of who you are. Until then, farewell." Lancer then dematerialized himself into thin air, disappearing into nothingness.
"What a weird woman she is…" I commented on myself.
"That, she is." Rengoku added.
"Shut up." I continued as I looked at Saber. "Saber… are you okay?"
"Worry not, Master. We both survived but… I may have expected to nearly tire myself out. All and all, I'm fine." Saber said with reassurance as Caster seemed to think otherwise.
"I beg to differ, dear Saber." Caster continued. "You were a bit too reckless on unleashing your Noble Phantasm."
"She's right. Now that you've used it and your identity is revealed. Can't figure out of who you are but… Why don't we continue this for tomorrow. I did say that you two are to reveal your names once we arrive at home. Again, let's not waste time. All of this has made me tired. Are we clear?" I said to them as the two nodded with no objections. "Good. Let's go."
And so, we've decided to head to the home that I've managed to own. Just had to persuade the landlord from that neighborhood with my… honeyed words. All Caster needs to do is to set up a workshop and erect the Bounded Field. Then we're good to go. I begin to wonder about what has transpired here tonight. Now then… let's review. First, my arrival to Denmark and securing myself a home. Second, meeting Father Karabo in order to find a suitable place to summon. Third, Summoned both Caster and Saber… only to encounter Lancer and Rider along the way. And lastly, time to head home. I shouldn't worry about their Master named Yvette. But something seemed off… Is she even a Master? I don't know. I'm overthinking. I should let this go and focus on getting a good night's sleep.
4/8/2029 Adashino Residence, Aalborg, Denmark Morning - Clear Sky
It was the next day. After I managed to have a good sleep and Caster successfully set up a Bounded Field around my house… for now. I was seen at the dining table as I wore my t-shirt as I had my jacket hanging on the chair that I'm sitting on. I had Rengoku leaning against the wall near the dining area. Well, the point is… Saber decided to have a first idea by cooking something which I'm trying to figure out what he's doing. It took him about five minutes to finish what he's doing as he proceeded to present it to me on the plate… Saber, who wears a gray shirt and jeans as he begins to speak.
"Master. It's finished. I present to you Steamed Vegetables. This is my first time cooking. Rest assured that it'll taste delightful once you eat it. Don't worry, it's just carrots, lettuce, broccolis, and some spices I found available." Saber said with a kind smile as he was proud of the food he cooked for me. I was given a fork and knife as if this was dinner but… It's morning, which means I'm supposed to have breakfast. But whatever.
"I see… By the way? Where is Caster?" I asked him about it.
"Ahh, I believe she is up in the attic. She's doing some additional… improvements to her workshop. She said she wanted to add some natural feel to it. To be honest, I don't know why." Saber simply shrugged at the fact that she seemed to be busy but…
"A-Ahh! Fear not, I'm here just as promised." The voice of Caster spoke as she came down the attic upstairs where she came into the dining area. She also had her clothes changed as well. She wore her white soft sweater, a kilted-like long skirt that covers her legs, a green scarf, and wireframe glasses. She seemed embarrassed of the clothes she wears but she'll get used to it. "Oh? It appears you're quite the cook, Saber. Are you skilled?"
"C-Caster, please! I'm merely an amateur. I only did what's best for our Master." Saber was a little flustered but looked at me as he kept his composure. "Please, enjoy it."
"I will." I said to him as I decided to combine all three vegetables together with a single fork. Since they have spices on it… I'm quite a bit curious about trying it the moment I put them in my mouth, giving it a crunch and taste. Then, I proceed to swallow it. Upon realization… I was surprised! "W-Wow… I must say, Saber. I'm impressed by how it tastes. Thank you."
"Hardly, Master. I only aim to please." Saber replied with some courtesy as the two would sit on the chairs. And so… I remained calm and serious knowing that they're here for one reason. "Now that we're present in this… table. Master, you've promised that we'd be on this table and reveal our True Names, is that correct?"
"Yes… Yes, I do." I continued as I ate the food… delicious. "I wanted to confirm with you two of your identities so that way I can use them for future references so that way we can understand each other. I'm sure you two won't mind, wouldn't it? Saber, why don't you go first. I made you use your Noble Phantasm to stop Lancer's Mac Au Luin. Now that I know who he is now… So tell me. What's your true name?"
"Very well, Master. As you just saw last night. That was my Noble Phantasm called Airgetlám. Which involves the usage of my silver arm." Saber said as he presented it once. "While I have full control over it, yes. But I do need to be careful on how I use it carefully. As long as you have that mana capability within you. It should be possible that I can perform it again after its first use. As for my True Name… I am known as Bedivere, the first knight of the Round Table. I served under King Arthur as his caretaker and his steward of the royal court. Are you familiar with my history?"
"Now that I know, yes. But since you're the Knight of the Round Table. Are… Are you familiar with certain knights like Gawain, Lancelot, Tristan, Mordred, all that sort of jazz?" I asked him about these certain knights if he remembers them. And truth be told, he does.
"I certainly do. As for Sir Mordred… He was rather a rebellious child. But indeed turned worse for the Kingdom of Camelot. Henceforth, I'd rather not talk about him…" Saber or rather Bedivere said as he tried to keep a good smile but is rather concerned if talked about Mordred.
"If I may interject, Saber." Caster added as she remained calm. "This has only brought up my curiosity. But what happened to your king if I may ask?"
"Are you sure? Master, I know you wish to know of my tale. But are you sure you want to hear what has happened throughout my life before I became a Heroic Spirit. I must warn you… It's rather… sad." Saber said to me and Caster as he seemed to be a bit sad but was willing to tell me. But, I do want to know.
"Please, go ahead. I wish to know your tale… the aftermath of Camelot's fall." I asked him of the tale as he nodded. So, he proceeded to tell his side of his story. The story of Camelot's fall… and King Arthur's final moments.
"If this is what you want, Master. Then I will not complain." Saber then continues to tell his tale. "After Camelot's fall, I had dragged my King safely to the forest where the lake is hidden as he had instructed me after the battle at the hill…. I saw him, laying near the tree as he didn't have time to live. But I remember his words of what he had said… To send Excalibur to the lake. Yet, I was afraid of losing him. But said that it's for the better in order to be transported to what's called Avalon. I… attempted to visit the Lake in order to return the Excalibur to Vivian, the Lady of the Lake but… I was still afraid to throw it away. Time and time again… I returned to see the King and revisit the lake, unable to return the sacred sword to the lake. But on the third time I visited my King once more… He… He died… it was that very moment that I felt this sadness on my face as the tears ran down from my eyes… My king did not smile. Yet, it was a suffering that he wasn't able to endure. That was that very final moment… the day that I had truly lost my King… that I had failed my duty. Thus, ends my tale of what I've come to be."
"I'm… sorry for your loss, Saber." I tried to comfort him as he shook his head.
"No please, Master. Pay it no mind. And to tell you the truth… This Airgetlám is meant to belong to this Celtic God of War. But in reality… this silver arm… houses the sacred sword itself, Excalibur." Saber reveals it to us as we were in complete shock.
"N-No way… I… I never thought of that but… If you have Excalibur in your silver arm, Saber. Do you have a particular wish in mind if we were to obtain the Holy Grail?" I wanted to ask him about it regarding his wish. But, he was willing to speak as if his mind was dead set on one thing.
"I do… To properly return Excalibur to the lake. That is my only wish. A way to make things right… and a way to absolve of this sin I carry." Saber finishes his tale as I was honestly surprised. He was very devoted to King Arthur, only for him to make a mistake for not sending the sacred sword to the lake. But now I get the gist of it. Next up is her.
"And what of you, Caster? Care to speak your True Name?" I asked her about it as she was willing either way.
"Of course." Caster continued as she began to introduce herself. "I am Demeter, the goddess of land and harvest-"
"H-Hold on!" I stammered a bit. "I somehow summoned an Ancient Greek goddess? No wonder why you look… beautiful."
"How kind of you, Master. Since Saber has told his tale. I will share mine. So listen well…" Caster then proceeds to tell her story as I listened. "If you don't know. I have a beloved daughter named Persephone. She was the sweetest young woman that I adored and cared for her. And respecting her decisions of her life through every step of the way."
"Persephone… So she's your daughter and… your husband must be Zeus, right?" I asked her as her expression changed as she was worried for some reason but she seems to be aware of what I have said.
"That's correct… We raised her to live a life so she can choose a path of a goddess. Though, Persephone has told me that she desired to marry the God of the Dead, Hades. As… As Persephone would become Hades' wife and the goddess of the underworld. Zeus would find out the God of the Dead had married our daughter to his dismay." Caster explained thoroughly but she would continue as the two of us would continue to listen. "In retaliation, he would smite Hades to death, impaling his head with a strike of thunder. And worse… he eventually killed our daughter who had her stillborn son that she was about to give labor to. And my daughter's son would be named Zagreus. And yet… my husband no longer would act in a rage and would not care. And I merely fled in grief because of him."
"That's truly horrible, Caster." Saber added. "My sincere condolences to your daughter. Even though I know nothing of the Olympian Gods such as you, I do understand that you and I hold on to the same grief. Master, don't you feel the same as well?"
"Yeah… I think you two also share mine as well. You see… I came to Denmark and participated in the Holy Grail War. You see… I had a mother named Hishiri, she was the kindest who adored and cared for me. Everyday, she would train me to master her magecraft but… My fear of snakes only holds me back continuously to this day. I still refuse to use my magecraft that my mother taught me even though I was forced to learn. Not to mention, Hishiri took in an orphan to become a Ward of our family. Her name was Misaya. She was an excelling prodigy of her own magecraft that came from her previous family but were killed by the group of mages. Unfortunately… my mother was… she was fatally wounded by an enemy mage. I tried to save her but I failed. That mage… he calls himself Beryl Gut. A ruthless mage who thrives to kill." I explained to the two as I continued to finish up my side of the story. "After that, my mother was sent to the hospital thereafter. But… she died right in front of me on her own hospital bed. That's what caused me to be struck with grief. And… I've made up my mind that I've decided to take my revenge against Beryl as I couldn't forgive him at all. Hence why… I'll kill him on my own. If it's the last thing I do."
"Master…" Both Saber and Caster said calmly in unison as I decided to calm down and looked at my Servants.
"Please, you two. Pay it no mind. So after that, I found out that Misaya was struck with a curse that was implanted by her deceased father. It's slowly consuming her and I have a year to find a way… Her curse cannot be cured easily with medicine or any forms of restorative-type magecraft. My only assumption is that the Holy Grail is truly capable of providing a wish. If I can use it… then perhaps it'll free Misaya of this curse that she struggles to endure. That's… pretty much my objective. I have no wish but for Misaya. I'm doing this for her sake." I finished explaining about Misaya's curse that I talked about as they seemingly understand the situation I'm currently in.
"I respect your cause. That you're willing to find a way to free her from the curse. I'm just happy that you still have her." Caster continued. "Now, as for my wish… I only wish to see my daughter Persephone alive again. Where we would be together in peace without the interference from Zeus. She means everything to me, Master. We indeed share this pain. You are losing your mother and me losing my daughter."
"And don't forget Saber's as well." I continued. "Now that we've shared our stories, our pain, and our grief. I think we all know why. Saber, Caster… Let's work together from now on as allies."
"Well said, Master. As your sword, I will do my best to assist you whenever I can." Saber agreed with a small smile on his face.
"Cool. Since when have you taken action as a leader, Jin? By the looks of you. You look confident." Rengoku spoke as I looked at the sword there at the wall.
"I said no talking, Ren. We've spoken about this. Or… are you willing to have your blade to be smelted in hot magma until there's none left?" I made a simple baseless threat towards my sword as I began to jitter once.
"O-Oi… You didn't have to go THIS far…" Rengoku spoke as if it had a sweatdrop.
"Master. Your sword seems to talk a lot." Saber pondered at the fact as he looked at it.
"Ignore him. You'll get used to it." I said as I finished up the food that Saber cooked for me. "Now then, with that out of the way. We have a lot of free time during the day before we can prepare for the night. Any suggestions?"
"If I may, Master." Caster asked me as I looked at her. "I need to do some final touches with my workshop in the attic so I was wondering… Is it okay if we can all go together to the botanical store? I hear they're selling these fantastic plants and I can't help but buy them. You could say I'm working on a garden. Is that alright?"
"If it makes you feel better, then okay." I said to her as she claps her hand together once as she was happy about it.
"Splendid! So it is settled then!" Caster continued. "As much as I love to venture outside during the day. I can't help but require some assistance like you two. I'll be looking forward walking to the store together.~"
"E-Ehh?" Both me and Saber only made ourselves dumbfounded in the process… Why did I decide on this in the first place?
Natura Botanical Garden Shop, Aalborg, Denmark Daytime - Clear Sky
As hours passed, we took a long walk to the main city of the shopping district of the city. It was slightly crowded where the long cobblestone road was met with many various stores near the sidewalk. Caster had already gone inside the shop as she was seen taking a gander of flowers, plants, and the like here as it was associated with nature-related things. There are a few people here but there was only one employee working here as she was near the cashier. Me and Saber were only outside to wait for her in order to remain patient and hopefully be done with it. Unfortunately… Saber had made an objection previously at home that we should explore around the city to understand the layout. I mean… My phone has a map and people use it all the time. So it should be easier to memorize the pathing layout rather than gandering locations and all. However, I sensed someone nearby as I and Saber noticed to see… Oh god…
"Hey hey! I never expected that we'd meet each other again!~ Either way, the place's nice here and the weather feels fresh, don't you think." It was Yvette… Even though she tries to act casual with me.
"I'm not here to buddy with you." I continued. "And why are you even here?"
"Isn't it obvious? I came here for you.~" Yvette said to me as I rolled my eyes.
"More like you're trying to stalk me. Isn't that your intention?" I glared at her as she pondered about it.
"Maybeeeee…?~ I dunno. Perhaps I was not spying on you. But, I've already figured out who you are. There's no denying it, Jin Adashino." Yvette said my name as I completely stood a step back a little from her.
"M-Master, please remain calm. She may be our enemy but now's not the time to retaliate. Attacking during the day is strictly forbidden." Saber informed me as the latter spoke.
"You heard him. I'm not even looking for a fight. I'm only here to talk to you. Y'know, a conversation. No wonder why you're so arrogant. And I know what you're about to say… 'How did you even know my name?' said by yourself within your mind. Good question. Because…" Yvette then proceeded to twirl around and struck a pose with a klutzy smile on her face. "I eavesdropped on your conversion at the church last night!~"
"Of course… Alright, you win… But you claim yourself that you're a Master with two Servants, right? If so, why are you wearing gloves that hide your Command Seal?" I pointed to her hands in skepticism as she pondered a bit.
"Hmmm… Now that'd you mention it. I'd be willing to reveal my Command Seals to you as proof buuuuuut…~ I don't want to!~ Unless you strike a deal with me. I'll provide you with information about the other Masters who are participating here.~ That is if you're willing to hear what I'm about to say.~" Yvette said with a deal… Seriously? You want to give me information? That doesn't benefit from anything. No way in hell I'm trusting her. She claims to be a Master but is hiding it. Something is suspicious about her. I'm sure of it. However, I looked at Saber who spoke with me.
"I assume she's not lying. I can tell by her expression, Master." Saber continued. "I know how you feel but… She's going to provide us with information. In exchange, I assume she wants us to do something in return."
"Yup!~ That's pretty much about it. I can only provide you with just one information about this certain Master who's participating here but trust me on this. It'll be worth it.~" Yvette tries to convince me as I couldn't refuse to say no. I took a deep sigh to calm down and gave in. Striking a deal with her is the only way to find Beryl who killed my mother.
"Fine. I'll accept your deal. However, you are to reveal your hands to show your Command Seal as proof. So tell me… who's the Master I'm going to face?" I asked her about it as she clapped her hand together in joy as she was willing to do so.
"See!~ I knew you would accept my deal! Now then… on to business. Since you told me that I am to reveal my Command Seal as proof… Allow me to do the honors of giving you… your first contract mission by yours truly!~ So listen closely…" Yvette continued as I listened to her. "Your first target is the Master of Berserker and Archer. And that Master's name is none other than my senior, Midadol Benedikta Luksic."
"Midadol?" I said to her as she nodded and continued explaining her background.
"Well, you see… Midadol is one of the known magus from the Clock Tower. Notably the Intelligencer Branch where I work at. Though, she wanted to bring me here in order to take part in the war in order to secure the Holy Grail but… She has other ulterior motives at hand. I don't know of her wish but I tried to keep my cool and understand her. To tell you the truth… she hasn't found me out. After all, she wanted me to summon my own Servants and so I did. However, I'll warn you right now. Not only Mid is one of the greatest Magus spies from London. She's even deadlier in terms of her magecraft. She is an experienced user of the Wind Magecraft. What I mean is, she can wield the wind spirits at her disposal and it can certainly kill you if you're not careful enough. Trust me, she is very manipulative and will get what she wants. I despise her for the things she has done. So there is where you'll come in. I don't know where she is now but you'll need me. I'll try to get on her good side. Again, she likes to move around some places. If I can just find her again, then it should be easy for me." Yvette explains the whole detail of Midadol's whereabouts. My mind begins to sink in with this information that she has provided me. I should recap just in case…
Midadol Benedikta Luksic, a renowned magus spy from the London Mages Association's Intelligencer Branch. Manipulative, has Yvette under her wing, expert in the Wind Spirit Magecraft, and reveals to be the Master of Berserker and Archer. But something is missing… I need to ask her for the Servant's true names.
"Yvette. What of the Servant's names?" I asked her as she simply shook her head in disappointment.
"Unfortunately, She never cared about learning their names. All she expects is for her two to get the job done. Now, I have provided you with the information. I can't risk myself going further. So let's stop here. Now then, do you remember what I've told you to do?" Yvette asked me as I simply nodded.
"Yeah. I'm well aware of the Grail War. Servants kill Servants. And Masters kill Masters. It's like a magnet. If a Master tries attacking a Servant, you'd end up on the short end of a stick. But killing a Master is easy enough. Like cutting the head of the chicken. Doing so, shall make the Servants disappear, cutting off the Master's mana supply in the process." I said to her as she seemingly understands the whole concept.
"You're right but you've missed out on more things… You should be worried about Archer. In case you don't know, if a Master dies. The Archer Servant can continue to live for a few days thanks to its Independent Action via Archer's Class Skill. While finding Midadol isn't easy, I suggest you should have one of your Servants deal with it." Yvette informed me until she realized. "Anyways, I'll be heading off. Now that I've provided you with your first target. I'm sure you'll defeat her in no time. Toodles!~"
Yvette happily skips down the sidewalk like a little girl as I begin getting myself a slight headache.
"What have I gotten myself into…? Saber, what do you make of this?" I asked him about it as he pondered about it.
"She has given us the information we need. While we do need to figure out the true identity of both Servants respectively. But their master is certainly leading it. If I may suggest, Master. We should begin our first night here in this city as soon as the sun falls. Hence why we should spend time here in this city and prepare for what's to come." Saber suggested the idea as I thinked for a moment.
"As much as I want to disagree but… you're right. We'll make use of our time. If you want me to stay here in this city before sundown. Then fine. I'll go with your plan. As long as we can let Caster head home and regroup with us" I said to him with no choice as he lightly smiled.
"Thank you, Master. I'm glad that we can agree on this." Saber replied until we noticed that Caster came back with a small flower pot with an interesting flower with red petals all over. "Ahh, Caster. You've returned. I see you've bought what you need."
"Of course." Caster continued as she looked at it with a kind smile. "Isn't it pretty? Don't you agree, Master?~"
"I mean, yeah. It does look nice. Anyways, Caster. Starting tonight before sundown… We'll be doing our first patrol here in this city. Look, I know you've bought that plant but… Why not head home and set up your final touches of your workshop. How's that sound?" I said to her as she seemingly agrees and is still happy about it.
"Certainly, Master. However, I'm willing to create an item just for you. I know you can wait for me but I can assure you that the wait will be worth it. Until then, please hold on to this." Caster then uses her other hand where she brings forth a green orb filled with other smaller green pieces around it. She takes out one piece and hands it to me as the orb disappears. "Please hold on to it so I can know exactly where you are. After all, I can simply just come straight to you."
"I see… Well, be safe on your way back home. I'll try to find a place to rest… if I can. So get going." I said to her as she nodded and proceeded to split off and leave on her own.
"Seems our plan is set, Master. Now then, shall we continue to explore this city?" Saber asked me as I sighed.
"If we must, we shall. Good thing I bought Ren with me just in case… had to wrap it around layers of white cloth just in case." I replied as I looked behind where I have Rengoku strapped on my back as it was covered with layers of cloth.
"You talkin' about me?" Rengoku asked as I quickly made my sword to pipe down.
"Shh! Quiet…!" I silently warned the sword as I remained calm. "Alright, Saber. Let's go."
And so, we've made our way down the sidewalk in order to explore and understand the location's layout of the city. But this is the first time that I've struck the deal with Yvette on this whole kill mission about Midadol. Again, the only thing that stands in our way is Berserker and Archer. I don't know what they look like but this is the only way to find out. But what I fear the most is Lancer's arrival should he find Saber. Then things would turn into a massive disaster-fest if things get out of control. But for now… I might as well use this time to wander around… and hopefully check out some stuff.
Silvercrest Manor, Aalborg, Denmark Nighttime - Clear Sky
Third Person POV
Meanwhile at a certain location east outside of the main city within Aalborg was an old mansion known as Silvercrest. However, the entrance gate is guarded by highly trained guards wearing suits and armed with firearms should the invaders trespass. However, this manor is now under the property of the Doglio family. However, this particular family originated from Italy as they've become the most dangerous mafia group who are most dominant in controlling Italian Agriculture, and owning a few black markets hiding within Italy's smaller cities. But they've recently begun their plans to expand outside of Italy, creating family branches in Germany, France, Sweden, and now Denmark. While Denmark is the latest, they have not yet made their presences known to this moment. But inside the manor was a certain woman with blonde short hair, a beautiful face, and a black elegant dress and black sleeved gloves was seen walking down the hallways of this dimly lit room filled with paintings and chandeliers. Of course, she would walk on a fancy red carpet as she was simply alone. But she would find a certain person who would be coming her way. A man with black shirt and red pants… that indeed fits the description of who he is. It was none other than Beryl Gut who had finished his meeting with the leader of the Doglio family. The two stopped as they would finally meet each other face to face… which the air around them felt tense. But truthfully… they would smile at each other.
"Midadol." Beryl said her name as the latter had a smug look on her face, lightly licking her lips.
"You cock.~" Midadol giggled upon their meeting as the two would get close as Beryl had leaned her against the wall lightly as they would get intimate with each other through romantic means. "I see you've had a talk with that man?"
"Of course." Beryl continued as he felt her smooth cheeks of her face. "It was merely a simple conversation but I didn't care less. I was worried that you'd not be here in this Holy Grail War. But I must ask… Does the lion take care when he chases the hare… Or do you think me one of the latter?"
"No, my love." Midadol continues as she would comfort her with her lust. "You are a lion… You're my lion.~"
"I'm not afraid of my own pitiful opponents, Midadol." Beryl continued as he let her go and looked at her face with her lust in her eyes as he seemed to enjoy it. "But I will need someone to comfort me when I need someone the most."
Midadol would continue to lightly moan in pleasure as the two would still enjoy themselves. However, in the distance… a certain male figure who is clad almost entirely in black armor, along with a dark blue fur-lined cloak draped over his left side. He has slicked-back black hair and pale skin. Yet, he had a scowling look on his face as he looked at Beryl being intimate with his lover. Despite that… he only knows one thing in mind and his opinion only… he dislikes women.
"I know you're watching me, Assassin…" Beryl said to him as he continued pleasuring her as he looked at his Servant. "Or is it that you just want to watch me have a good time, no? Or are you here to report to me your progress?"
"…I do, Master…" Assassin continued. "Upon your testing. I have succeeded in bolstering your men into knights with my chains. Therefore, I and my Knights are at your command."
"Good, good. Then that's all I need. Start heading out right now and put your so-called 'Knights' to good use." Beryl said to his Servant as the two would stop being intimate over a romantic relationship.
"Master… I suggest you should stop flirting with this witch and focus at hand…" Assassin said to him… only for Beryl to glare at him with malice…
"Are you defying me, Assassin. I didn't quite hear of what you said. I assume you were looking down upon my love… Is that it?" Beryl glared at his own Servant as the latter would start to take a step back a little as he kneels in front of him with his right hand over his chest and his head down.
"…I apologize, Master. I shall hold back my manners next time… I shall excuse myself…" Assassin then proceeds to dematerialise himself out of thin air as he is gone.
"Did you make sure to put your lowly Servant on a leash?" Midadol asked him.
"Not to worry. I have Assassin under control. Though, I had to make some… adjustments in order to get what I want. Your gift you presented to me. This Mud of Fuyuki? It's certainly working as intended. I must thank you for this, Midadol." Beryl thanked her as she nodded with a smile. "Shall we continue where we left off?"
And such… the two would continue on as usual in order to fulfill their desires while Assassin is forced to be away as he plans to send his knights into the city. With it, things are now sent into full motion here in this city of Aalborg…
Aalborg, Denmark Nighttime - Clear Sky
First Person POV
It was finally nighttime here. After spending tons of time exploring this main city. I couldn't help but ponder upon myself as me and Saber find ourselves here sitting in this certain place called Toldbod Plads. Fortunately, there is no one around but us. All the shops here are closed at midnight which allows us to start fighting. Well, that's the whole plan. I had Saber patrol around this area as long as he didn't go too far just in case. I proceeded to look of what's ahead where there was a large river. Sure, this city also has a bridge that connects with that other land in front of me. But for some reason… I feel a bit sleepy as soon as I slowly close my eyes… the mind drifts once more as the visions of the past play once again. But this time… it was different. I can hear the rainstorms…
I opened my eyes as I found myself back here at this Adashino Manor again. The rainstorm was indeed outside from the windows as I found myself now at the age of 17 where I was on the floor, feeling defeated when I saw the familiar person who stood there next to the body of my mother… it was Beryl Gut… Of course it would be him… He managed to wound my mother. He was planning to kill me but Misaya saved us in the nick of time where she sent her familiar shadowy wolves to sic him. But he simply fought back as he had the ability through his magecraft where he can turn his arms into wolf arms as his hand grows claws as he easily shreds them into two.
"Tch… Talk about timing. You get to live this time, Hishiri. Oh wait… you're not going to last long in the end. As for you, kid… This will be the last time we meet… And remember my name, Beryl Gut. Never forget it." Beryl said as he would retreat into the shadows as he fled out of the manor and disappeared. Then, I noticed Misaya rushing towards my 17-year old self as he struggled to get up.
"M-Misaya… H-He… He wounded our mother… D-Damn him… DAMN HIM!" My young self yelled in rage and frustration as he slammed his fist to the ground.
"I-I know… Are you hurt?" Misaya said to him.
"Yeah… kind of but… our mother…" He said to her as both looked at Hishiri lying there on the floor as she was bleeding on her back which had a nasty cut. Her glasses were shattered as well.
"Curses… to think our days couldn't just get any worse… C'mon… let me help you up." Misaya said to him as she did so as he got up on two feet with her support.
I remember this whole scene well. He escaped, our mother wounded, and the two of us survived. I slowly closed my eyes again as the sounds began to switch and transition. And now, I open my eyes once more where I found myself in her room where she was on her bed. A mysterious plague was found on the side of her neck as she was coughing a bit and there I was myself again. But this time this was before I left Japan to Denmark for the Holy Grail War. So I stood there and listened to the conversation. But this time… I was in control.
"Misaya-san, please… You're the current heir of my family… And I refuse to let you die. I swore to protect you but this… this curse has gotten the hold of you!" I said to her with worry, knowing that she won't live this long the more her curse is slowly eating her away.
"Please, you mustn't be saddened over me. I can understand your pain. Perhaps I've been keeping this secret for too long. So I might as well tell you the truth. This curse… belonged to my family, the Reiroukan family. Unfortunately, my father had given me this curse before he and my mother were killed by the group of mages when I was young. I've been holding it back for a long time but it seems it's finally trying to destroy me from within. I… I only have one year left to live so listen closely, Jin… I want you… I want you to participate in the upcoming Holy Grail War happening in Denmark. I know you have a lot of questions but there's no time. Take these two catalysts next to my desk and set off to Denmark immediately." Misaya told me what to do as I looked at the two catalysts as I looked at them.
"But why two?" I asked.
"The rules of the Grail War have changed… Take these two and be on your way. I will not ask for the second time… So please… have my wish granted. Get rid of my family curse…" Misaya told me as I compiled without any questions. I took the two catalysts and placed them into a small box and closed it safely. The moment I take the box. I looked at her one more time.
"For your sake, Misaya… I will take part in the Holy Grail War." I continue with the determination within me. "I promise… I promise I will return with your wish granted. No matter what, I'll save you from this curse. I swear it. Farewell, Misaya… Wish me luck."
And so, I found myself leaving with the box in tow. Even though I took Rengoku with me that my mother kept under the basement and I haven't told Misaya about my revenge as it was personal for me. And so, my vision fades to black the moment I was dragged back to reality. Thus, I recall those familiar words back at the hospital…
"Beryl Gut… I swear… I swear… that the moment I find you… No matter where you're hiding…. I'll kill you…! I will FUCKING KILL YOU…!"
"-up…! Master, please wake up!" The voice of Saber calls to me as I open my eyes as I see him looking at me. "I see you were dozing off?"
"Y-Yeah… A bit. It's not that long." I continued. "How's your patrol? Any enemies?"
"None so far. Everything feels quiet at the moment. And no words from Caster, either…" Saber pondered as he stood next to me while I sat.
However… I noticed where I saw a flurry of leaves swirling around like a tornado. Then, it caused a burst all around… Caster was finally here. I guess she knows how to use her teleportation… in some way. She was here as expected as she was holding something in her hand.
"Master, I have returned. As promised, I have delivered you this item I have crafted." Caster said to me as I stood up. I quickly grabbed out the piece that Caster gave as it floated and returned to her. But I took the item from her hand and glanced at it.
"A… necklace?" I asked her about it. It shows that green gem-like pendant with a laurel-like pattern wrapping around it.
"Please put it on, Master." Caster said as she told me so. "This pendant made by me allows you to save you from fatal attacks once. Just remember that it only has one use. If you somehow die, the pendant will heal you completely but the pendant itself will disappear. So make sure you don't waste it. This is the only one I can make and I'm unable to care for it again."
"No worries, it'll do. Thanks." I thanked her as I put it over my neck. "Anyways, nothing is going on so far here. Man, I was expecting a fight to happen here… Perhaps I was wrong. Maybe we should go somewhere else and-"
"Master!" Saber said quickly as he drew out his sword as he deflected an arrow away as it fell onto the floor. Shit, that scared me! "Stay alert… it appears a Servant was trying to kill you from afar."
"Afar? I'm sorry, I was hanging in the tree just to watch you talk. I nearly had an opportunity to take him out but… seems I was wrong." The voice of the enemy spoke as we looked at the tree where he got down from the tree to meet us here tonight.
He was a tall and lean young man with gray-green eyes and messy spiky orange hair that partially covered his right eye. His attire consists of Lincoln green clothing and a dark green cloak covering his head when he has a hood on, along with bandages on his left arm. He even has a crossbow on his wrist as well.
"Judging by your attire and your weapon. You must be an Archer Servant." I said to him the moment I had my hand on the hilt of Rengoku from my back.
"Yup. That's pretty much about it. Can't believe you're protected by two Servants… Just my luck…" Archer sighed as he was picking his ear in annoyance as I maintained my composure.
"Sorry if I'm boring you. But now that you're here… I assume your Master is Midadol?" I asked him for information about her. He stops and starts to look at me with a glaring look on his face.
"And how did you find out about our Master's name? Surely you have enough reasons to explain, do you?" Archer demanded to know as I responded.
"That's none of your business. You'll tell me where your Master is. You can say I merely want to… strike a conversation." I said to him in order to push Archer for answers but…
"As much as I can tell you… I can't. You see, my Master is a busy woman, going from places to places and does whatever she places. But since you're planning to go after her… I'm afraid I won't let you leave here alive. Sheesh… if only Berserker is here by now…" Archer said as he wondered about it but focused at hand in defeating us.
"I'm afraid you'll have to go through me, Archer. So fight with honor and dignity." Saber demanded as Archer simply sighed.
"I don't want to. I mean, you're a Saber Servant. No way I'll fight against you. My Master told me to pick off the weak so I'm going to do that." Archer said as he quickly readied his weapon on his wrist as he fired arrows directly at me. Only for Saber to step in once again as he quickly deflects them with ease as the projectiles fall onto the floor. "Tch.. Where the hell are you, Berserker-"
[FWOOSH! CRASH!]
There was suddenly another one as well as another enemy crashing directly onto us. But Saber had grabbed me as he and Caster took a quick step back to avoid it. There was a cloud of smoke coming from the impact that had made. Archer merely scratched the back of his head as he still wore his hood.
"Geez, took you long enough, Berserker. What took you so long?" Archer lightly complained of his ally's arrival.
"If you continue barking like a dog you are. I would have killed you here and there. So don't get in my way, Archer. Otherwise you'll pay a heavy price." The billowing smoke disappears where Berserker stood there to look at us with her serious, murderous intent on her face.
"A-At least simmer down a bit-" Archer tried to talk to her until Berserker looked back at her ally with a menacing glare as it scared him a bit. "O-Okay, okay! I won't speak further. Either way, that Master is mine so don't forget it."
Berserker wore her dark battle-dress as she wielded both a flagged spear being blown by the wind as she held a sword on her left hand. Yet, her armor is more revealing in some way. She has high heels and long flowing white-blond hair that reaches her ankles. Yet, she had a menacing smile on her face when she met us with her eyes for the first time.
"Greetings, you hopeless lambs. And I welcome you to my slaughter. So do try to stand still and die for me, alright?" Berserker said in annoyance as if she didn't have the time to do so. Archer seemed afraid of talking to her but they're indeed working together for a reason.
"Master… I suggest you stand back." Saber continued. "I will handle this Berserker."
"That's fine. I'll take Archer myself. Caster, make sure you help Saber as best as you can. Just try to assist him from the sidelines." I said to her as she was worried about me with concern but she had no choice but to comply.
"…Very well, Master. Saber, let us try to drag Berserker somewhere else." Caster tells him as he nodded.
"As much as I'm nervous of fighting you… But you don't seem to be a threat at all. Or rather trying to instill fear on me. Maybe you're just a coward who is afraid to show your weakness." Saber simply taunted her as it somehow got on her nerves.
"Oh you're so dead…! I'll burn you alive!" Berserker then proceeded to rush towards Saber with her flagged lance as she struck him with a thrust.
[CLANG!]
The clash of steel blades met as Saber pushed her lance aside as he decided to dash away into another place within Aalborg as Berserker followed him. Caster soon followed, too. Now, it's just me and Archer. He whistled as if I wanted to have a go on fighting a Servant. I've been waiting for way too long. But now's my chance.
"To be honest. I don't know why you want to fight me that bad. But alright… just so you know. I don't play nice." Archer said as he readied his crossbow from his wrist.
"That's my line. You'll tell me where your Master is. Even if you refuse… I'll force you to make you do so." I said to him seriously the moment I unsheathed Rengoku from my back. "Wake up, Rengoku… It's time to feast."
"So you're seriously doing this?" Rengoku continued with a sigh. "Fine. I'm not complaining but knock yourself out."
"Here I come…!" I proceeded to make a quick step towards Archer where he started to fire his arrows at me. But thanks to Rengoku, it allows me to react quicker and faster with enhanced physical capabilities. I used the handle of the sword, lifting it with ease as I used the side of the blade to quickly block it about a few times after he fired at me. I was already within his range. With Rengoku's blade being that long, capable of great reach. I swung my sword to the left in order to strike.
[FWOOSH!]
At that very moment, he easily dodged it by jumping high at such a quick reaction. But the moment he was already aiming at me, I shifted my body and legs as well as my arms. It wouldn't stop me since it was my first time fighting against an Archer-class Servant. And the problem is for Masters that fighting Servants will only increase the risk. But I was well-trained for this when it comes to fighting them. Archer had already fired one arrow as I managed to swing my sword upwards to deflect that projectile. But in case he wasn't aware… I had my left arm wrapped around in white cloth at that very moment…
"Hebi!" I unfurled the white cloth as it began to move on its own powered by my magic circuits. The cloth itself turns into a white snake as it opens its fangs. Instead of biting him, it manages to wrap around his right leg with its speed. After fully wrapping him, the snake turned back into cloth as I was ready to pull him down.
"What the-!" Archer didn't have time to react the moment I forcefully pulled him down with my cloth as gravity took him. He takes a thud on the ground after I managed to do it as my cloth retracted itself back to my arm. "D-Damn… you're not bad… for using a snake."
"My mother says I was always afraid of snakes… but I've learned to use them to my advantage. Fighting you would potentially be a waste of time. So I will not ask again." I continued as I pointed my blade at his neck. "Where is your Master… Tell me."
"You're seriously pressing me to get that information of my Master's whereabouts, huh?" Archer said as he chuckled. "I don't blame you, though. Our Master is always busy, going around places in Aalborg. However, she is residing at one particular place. But then again-"
I slowly had my blade pointed at his neck a bit closer as he noticed it while having his both hands up and sweatdrops.
"H-Hey, let's not be too hasty here. Look, I'll tell you where my Master resides now that she found a place. It's the old ca-" Archer was about to reveal his Master's location until Rengoku warned me.
"Behind you!" Rengoku warned me the moment I held my blade ready, quickly turning around and blocking the overhead attack.
As I blocked it, I was met with a figure donning in black armor with red outlines and reeks of black ominous presence coming from him. I proceeded to kick him away the moment he lost balance. Archer quickly got up as both of us stuck together where the group of people in armor… knights, had surrounded us.
"Talk about bad timing, huh?" Archer said. "Say, you got a name, kid? I'll try to inform my Master about you. Don't worry, I won't do anything dumb. I'm a man of my word."
"You better not trick me. Have my message sent to your Master. Tell her that my name is Jin Adashino and I'm coming for her head." I said to him as he seemingly remembered it.
"Duly noted. I'll tell my Master about it. Until then… you're on your own, kid!" Archer then quickly dashed away in the air as he completely ditched me…
"What a dick…" I said with a sigh as I looked back at the group of dark knights. "Hey, Ren. What are these things? Phantasmal Beasts?"
"Not really, no." Rengoku continued. "There are humans wearing that armor but… this does feel strange. They're dead from the inside as if these guys are being controlled by the one responsible. However, these guys are dangerous. You can try to kill all of them but don't get carried away."
"That's fine. It won't take long the moment I cut them down. Caster made me this pendant so I should be careful with it should I get killed." I replied as I kept my combat stance as I looked at them around me. "Now then… If you're looking for a renaissance faire. I'm afraid you're way too late. So step forward… AND DIE!"
And so, I began attacking them in order to survive… I just hope my Servants are okay from Berserker right now…
Third Person POV
Meanwhile, far from where Jin is usually at. At this certain location of the abandoned basketball court where the large river canal can be seen here tonight… The sounds of blades clashing was heard as Saber kept his distance to remain defensive as possible, deflecting many attacks that Berserker swung at him multiple times. However, Caster was supporting Saber from the sidelines as she conjured a green orb as it began to split itself into five. She lifts it up into the sky as it comes flying down to the ground where Berserker would be at. The latter would notice that the roots began to rise from the ground in a form of spikes where it would soon impale her but she quickly took a step back, conjuring a ball of flames from her hand and threw it at the spikes, burning them completely upon impact. Saber remained his composure as he swung his sword to quell the flames away with the gust of wind.
"I can sense that Archer has decided to flee… Hmph. Like I give a shit…" Berserker continued as she looked at them. "I couldn't care less about your pitiful swordplay. Yet, you've already given me enough headaches from fighting you. Are you seriously holding back?"
"And what if I am?" Saber asked.
"Then I might as well use every ounce of my Noble Phantasm to burn you alive-" Berserker was about to speak until she heard the voice in her head.
"Berserker, fall back."
"Master… Are you questioning me to retreat? I almost had them-" Berserker was interrupted.
"Need I say it again twice? Fall back. Now. Let Beryl's Knights handle this matter. Do I make myself clear? Archer already knew their arrival before I could talk to him."
"No! Please, give me a chance! I can fight these two little shits!" Berserker pleaded with anger. But her Master wasn't having none of it.
"It seems you're not listening to what I've said. Unfortunately, you've forced my hand. And I don't like using this. By my first order of the Command Seal… Berserker, you are to fall back and retreat."
The moment she spoke those words and used one of her Command Seal in order to force Berserker to fall back. She feels that her Master's order is absolute and cannot reject it whatsoever as she growls but calms down shortly after. So, she decided to lower her lance and spoke.
"…Understood, Master…" Berserker continued. "Be grateful that you lots get to live for another day. The next time we meet, I'll kill you for sure. And don't forget… you should be more worried about your poor Master now that these Knights of his came out of nowhere."
"W-Wait-" Saber was about to ask her until she disappeared out of thin air as she was gone. "Oh no… our Master is in trouble."
"What she says is true… the pendant I made for him has sensed to me that he's in danger. We must make haste!" Caster tells him as he nods.
"Indeed. Hurry!" Saber said as the two Servants would rush back to help their Master in trouble as he was fighting against the group of dark nights.
Back at the same place where Jin was at… He managed to kill the remaining dark knights as blood was spilt all over the place. Yet, he was trying to catch breath in order to see all around him… all knights are dead thanks to his relentless combat.
First Person POV
"Is… Is it over?" I said to my sword as I was gasping for breath as I saw these knights who were killed by me. All ten of them but they really gave me a hard time. Damn it… I feel worn out because of them.
"H-Hey, Jin! Look alive! Their bodies…!" Rengoku warned me as I noticed that one of the bodies began to twitch and shake as the cuts on their armor were being repaired on their own. And then, the knight slowly got back up like a reanimated undead the moment he grabbed his sword. The rest of the knight slowly gets back up as I find myself frustrated upon this revelation.
"Oh fuck me… They're unkillable!?" I complained within this situation as I readied myself again but I don't have much stamina left.
"Seems like it! Guess there must be some other way to properly kill them but… it appears that we're screwed ten times over." Rengoku said as I groaned over this face until…
[SLASH!]
The head of the knight was decapitated as Saber and Caster arrived to my rescue.
"Master! Are you unharmed?" Saber asked me as I nodded.
"I'm not. But these knights gave me a rough time. We need to fall back now. We can't risk any further… Caster? Can you teleport us out of here?" I asked my other Servant as she nodded.
"I can. So hang on. This won't take long." Caster said as she uses her scythe staff the moment she lightly stabs the ground as we all felt the gust of wind and leaves swirling around us. The moment we were covered by the leaves. We finally disappeared in the process.
Third Person POV
After the three had safely teleported away back to their base of operation that is their home. Assassin had arrived at the place as the knights felt his presence as they kneeled at him. He proceeded to look at the decapitated knight as its body proceeded to evaporate away due to the decapitation caused by Saber. Assassin maintained his usual expression as he wasn't surprised. But spoke upon himself.
"So… you've finally appeared in this world…" Assassin said as he recalls the vision previously of his arrival at the scene of Saber as he seemingly knows him. However, he didn't care and looked at his knights. "Proceed with your patrols for this night and search for any Servants that roam."
The knights stood up and did their salute as they proceeded to split up and began their patrol. As for Assassin, he simply disappeared once again out of thin air… As for the night, it has been a rough one at the very start.
Church, Aalborg, Denmark Midnight - Clear Sky
Meanwhile back at the church where the Overseer Karabo was seen standing there alone with the moonlight shining through the stained glass. He was mostly silent all the time as his role is to guide Masters to follow the rules of the war and determine the winner. However, there was another particular young woman with long white hair and red eyes as she wore a white dress when she was seen sitting on the chair, looking at him.
"Father. Are you sure this will work out? Regarding the True Holy Grail?" The woman said to him.
"It will. But remember, you have a role to play as well. When the remaining Servants are killed, their souls will be gathered by you only. And once that, you will become the vessel in order to make the Grail manifest. Have you've forgotten, Ioviel Einzbern?" Karabo said to her as she shook her head.
"No, Father Karabo. I have not." Ioviel continued as she remained her composure. "I'm well aware of my roles. After all, I am the vessel for the True Holy Grail. And when that time comes… I will also sacrifice myself to become one with it…"
"Then do not forget that. For now, be patient when that time finally comes. Seems this night has gotten more interesting. What will you do now, Jin Adashino?" Karabo said his name as he wondered about the predicament he is in.
But here in this Holy Grail War. It's kill or be killed. And with it, the potential end of its first proper night.
[TO BE CONTINUED]
Author's Notes: Hello all. Thank you for reading the first chapter of this Fate story. In case you don't know. This story will be the final trilogy of the Strange Grail Saga as intended. I had to take my time working on the story and make it as long as it can be. And when creating this story, I wanted to revisit the concept of Revenge but make it more proper when I first played Final Fantasy XVI. The story in that game is really compelling so I wanted to lean on that concept and apply it to the story of Novissima Dissonance. Hence why the protagonist Jin has a gruesome vendetta against Beryl Gut. And as for the idea of summoning Two Servants instead of one is based on the concept of Fate: Lost Einherjar which was recent. And I'll be honest, It's not easy for me to come up with ideas of Servants with their own kits of abilities since they exist from Fate/Grand Order. To be honest, this is the longest chapter yet as it was meant to introduce you to the characters and the setting of the Holy Grail War. Jin will have character development throughout the chapters once I stop being lazy and start working my butt off the moment I try to build this lore. This is only the beginning but the first time… There will be no anime-like openings and endings as it has gotten old for me. So yeah, I'm throwing them out of the window and moving forward with this. The story will still be mature as always as it has been part of my planning phase. All and all, I'll do my best to make this story move forward and try to do something new for once. I'm just glad that I learned something after I made Paradisus Scramble. But with this, this will be fully realized once I continue making chapters until I finally hit the endgame. For now, be patient as more chapters come out. And there is something that I wanna try by including lore information by informing readers about it. Think of Final Fantasy XVI's Active Time Lore… minus the "Active". So at the every end of each chapter, a new lore of certain information regarding Characters, Locations, and Topics. Each will explain thoroughly what the information is explaining to you readers of what it's about. Think of it as some experiment but I'm sure it'll turn out okay. I won't forget about the Servant information and Omakes, too. So yeah, look forward to what's next. Until then, peace out and stay safe.
Omake - Do You Love Your Goddess Mother and Her Overabundant Tab-Targeting Casts?
Jin Adashino, the Master of Saber and Caster. Bedivere and Demeter respectively, had only gotten used to partaking in the Holy Grail War in Aalborg. As he was sounding asleep peacefully after his first proper night from meeting Archer and Berserker from encountering the group of knights surrounding him that seemed to be unkillable. He slowly opens his eyes where he would find himself that isn't his home. Instead, he was thrown into another world in the form of isekai. As if he was aware of those typical anime tropes that got him the worst. His Servants were apparently here for no reason as they were inside this throne room of the royal castle, somewhere in the kingdom.
"What the…? Saber? Caster? Where are we?" Jin asked his Servants.
"It appears we've been whisked away. How troublesome…" Saber said with a ponder as he tried to think of what's going on.
"My, this is entirely new to me. But as long you're here, Master. Let your mother take great care of you.~" Caster said gleefully as she hugged him.
"H-Hey! Knock it off, Caster!" Jin had already asked her to stop hugging as she did the moment the king spoke.
"Greetings, O Summoned Warriors from the Other World. My name is King Argovale van Gloria. You stand here in my domain of the Royal Castle here in the Kingdom of Erthesia. The reason why I summoned you three is because there is a looming threat that plans to plunge the world into darkness led by the Great Demon King General. And we're running low on troops. Majority are injured and most are dead. Which is why we need to call upon you to lend your strength. So I ask you, will you help us in defeating that threat?" King Argovale has asked him for help as the three remain unsure…
"Argovale… sounds familiar…" Saber pondered silently.
"Master, we should accept his proposal. It's a wise choice that we should defeat this Demon King, is it not?" Caster suggested it to Jin as he thinked about it.
"Fine, Your Majesty. But on one condition, have your mages or whatever send us back to our world so we can continue where we left off. We got stuff to do there." Jin said to the king as he nodded.
"Rest assured, we will uphold our promises once you defeat the Great Demon King. I wish you the best of luck. And one more thing. Do not cross No Man's Land. It is filled with death." King Argovale informed him of a certain place but… He did not listen.
At the No Man's Land. Failing to heed the King's word, he encountered tons of dead soldiers who fell in battle recently at the hands of the Demon King's army. The battlefield was a complete mess as Jin didn't even care if they died. He only wanted to find the Demon King and be done with it. But, Caster on the other hand. Was saddened by it.
"Caster? Something wrong?" Jin asked her Servant as she nodded.
"I do. It saddens me to see these people dead. It pains me. Is it alright if I can revive them?" Caster asked him as he didn't seem to care.
"Yeah sure. If you have the items- wait, what?" Jin notices Caster is already using her Noble Phantasm as she releases her staff scythe's natural magic energy all over the land. She somehow succeeded in reviving the people that died…but it also revived the Demon King's army in the process.
"Finally! We can continue the fight! Knights! Forward! Our enemy awaits! CHARRRRRRGE!" The knight yelled as the others soon followed the moment they saw their revived enemy in the battle as they grabbed their weapons to arms and began battling each other to the death… again.
"What have you done, Caster…?" Jin said as Bedivere was in complete shock. For Demeter… she only lets out a giggle as if she was a bit clumsy. But was happy that she revived them in the process… to let these armies kill each other once again. And thus, it was a weird, strange journey. A weird quest to kill the Demon King.

This particular Grail War is different as it is mysterious and yet, unknown of why the rules here are like this. As the name suggests, it involves One Master summoning Two Servants against its opponents. While it is uneven despite only Seven Servant Classes being available at the time. There were chances for a Ruler-class Servant to be summoned but unfortunately, that did not happen.
[Master]
Info: Mysteries of the World
Description: A Magus capable of summoning forth a Servant through the dominance of the Command Seal found on the back of the hand as a proof of Master. Allowing them to command their Servant at their will. Those who become a Master cannot back out or turn back from the Holy Grail War as a participant. Though there are risks and punishments that losing a Command Seals are possible through any means such as being killed, having the hand severed, or relinquishing the right as the Master.
[Servant]
Info: Mysteries of the World
Description: Heroic Spirits that come from the Throne of Heroes, representing past heroes who have done their deeds in their previous life. Once a Heroic Spirit becomes a Servant, they are bound to a Master and are forced to listen and obey as their commands are absolute. However, they are completely strong beyond human strength and willpower. But, Servants eat mana off of their Masters in order to maintain their physical form. Should a Heroic Spirit be defeated, they will be sent back to the Throne of Heroes in order to be summoned again for the next Holy Grail War.
[Class]
Info: Mysteries of the World
Description: Class refers to the roles of what the Servants take upon. There are Seven Classes in total for the Holy Grail War. Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Berserker, Caster, and Assassin. However, there are Extra Classes that exist should the Holy Grail permit it such as Ruler and Avenger. There have been times of newer Extra Classes that did exist as well like Foreigner, Pretender, and Gatekeeper. But these said extra classes are extremely rare and should never be used through any means necessary.
[Command Seal]
Info: Mysteries of the World
Description: The proof of becoming a Master who can summon a Servant by the will through dominance. Each Seal's symbol is different depending on a Master. But each seal can be only used up to three times, allowing the Master to provide commands upon force. Wasting three seals will cause the Master to lose the rights of controlling a Servant. Should the Master face relinquishment or death, they are disqualified from the war.
[Clock Tower]
Info: Mysteries of the World
Description: The first branch and headquarters of the Mages' Association. Located in London, United Kingdom. It is said to be welcoming for upcoming mages to learn the ways of magecraft through classes within its campus. Each class has its own departments such as Astromancy, Spirit Evocation, and most notably the Modern Magecraft Theory, headed by none other than Lord El-Melloi II. The Department of Policies is where Hishiri is from as well. The Clock Tower itself is indeed run by the Lords in order to preserve the legacy of Magecraft and prevent anyone from revealing it to the public. That includes the existence of the Holy Grail War. There are three major factions there as well such as Barthomeloi, Trambelio, and Meluastea. And here, the Clock Tower itself has ranks. From the bottom of Frame, to the highest rank known as Crown. One that holds such a high rank is none other than Aozaki Touko. Not all mages have the same mindset, there are magus who are down to the rotten core each with their own agendas. There have been instances of mages that leave the Clock Tower to follow their own path such as Darnic Prestone, where his fate itself remains undetermined and left ambiguous.

Graceful Eleusis: Thou, Plough Through the Star for an Abundant Harvest - A
Type: Anti-World (Self)
Range: 10-500
Max Number of People: 1000
It is said that Demeter has provided people with the abundance of crops to harvest back in her time of Ancient Greece. This particular Noble Phantasm can allow her to heal and revive people, completely numbing the injury regardless if it's minor or mortal. Though, it'll require to gather as much magical energy from the Earth itself such as nature. Whether it be plains, forests, and rivers. All that accumulated magical nature energy can be unleashed in a widespread way and can feel the warmth. Again, it only works on people that are injured or dead and can have their parts of their human body like bones and organs completely repaired without fail. It is said this healing warmth is like eating the ambrosia fruit. Minus the immortality. But it will take a great toll on her upon use due to the requirement of how much mana she can use.
