Not So Ordinary Lincoln - An Alternate Ending to the Loud House Movie

(Quick Author's Note: First off, this takes place after the movie and right after the family learns about Lincoln's "Ordinary Me" song from The Loud House Movie; specifically after the fam returns home to Royal Woods. Secondly, anybody remember the movie Monsters University? I would've LOVED to see Lincoln's sisters give him the same pep talk Sully gave Mike near the end. Here's how I imagine it going down, if such a scene took place in the movie)

Lynn: Listen, Bro; you may think you're just ordinary you...but you're dead wrong.

Lincoln: *glumly* Oh, yeah...how you figure that?

Lori: Lincoln, I literally don't know a single person in this town who can do what you do for us, let alone others in Royal Woods. I know that when everybody sees us in action, they think we're the most astonishing family in the state. But the truth is...we only got this far because of you!

Lincoln: What? N-No...No way.

Luan: *through Mr. Coconuts* She's tellin' the truth, Slick; you helped organize all our family's schedules every day. You're the guy who always makes sure everything's together and that we're all out the door on time. You helped our family become champions by coaching us, carry our things...or just by cheerin' us on! All these broads here ever do is strut their stuff on the fields and stage, then reap the rewards after.

Lola: That's a little harsh, Luan

(Luna stops them)

THE POINT IS, BRO...After all this, you really think you're just "plain, unremarkable and ordinary"? You helped put a stop to Morag before she could use Lela to do who knows what to the people of Loch Loud!

Lincoln: That wasn't me...

(Lynn Sr. suddenly steps in)

That WAS you, Sport...you think any of your sisters, your mother or even I would be able to stand up to a dragon the way you did? *cracks a small grin* I almost peed myself, when we saw our ghosty ancestors!

(Lincoln's face slowly brightens up, after all this and then, Rita suddenly gives him the warmest of hugs)

Rita: Sweetie...I'm going to get right to the point with you here. You're right, you're not like your sisters...but you are the best "you" ever.

Lynn: Mom's right, Bro; you may not be strong or athletic like me...but you are fearless and skilled in your own way.

Luna: You may not be a music legend like me...but you're definitely a star in the making.

Lola: You may not have style like me...but you have a great sense for it, when I'm at my pageants.

Lisa: You may not be as academically gifted as I am...but your sense of planning, clever thinking, imagination and resourcefulness are beyond even me.

Lynn Sr: And you may have made mistakes...but you always come through when it matters most.

(Lincoln's face slowly develops a smile overtime)

Lynn Sr: And if this town can't see you like we do; then, they can just...

(Just then, a knock sounds off at the door; causing the family to groan loudly in annoyance)

Rita: Who could that be at this hour?

(She opens the door, expecting to see Mr. Grouse to come and complain. But instead, she lets out a small "oh" or surprise to see Mayor Davis outside; along with several friends and neighbors they know. Upon realizing this, Rita spruces herself as best as she can and smiles)

Rita: Madam Mayor...to, uh...to what do we owe the honor of this visit?

Mayor Davis: I simply wanted to come and congratulate your family...it seems they made the front page again.

(The Sisters murmur softly with excitement/curiosity before making their way to the door. Meanwhile, Lincoln's earlier anxieties quiver back up again; making him think it's a repeat of what happened at the beginning of their adventure. Then, at that moment, he hears his sisters going wild with joy)

Luna: BRO, C'MERE! YOU GOTTA SEE THIS!

(With a mildly begrudging groan, Lincoln gets off the couch and approaches everyone. As he looks at the paper, he expects to see some glamor piece about his sisters again. Instead, he comes upon a headline that reads "Royal Woods Royal Saves Ancestral Hometown in Scotland.")

Lincoln: *stammers slightly* HOW?! How did you know about this...none of you were there!

A Voice in the Crowd: But I was, Bro.

(The crowd parts slightly and Bobby steps forward; looking tired, wet and covered in seaweed)

Lori: *gasps* BOO-BOO BEAR! What happened to you?

Bobby: *picks off some bits of seaweed from his arms* I was...trying to meet up with you in...in Loch Loud, after you said you planned on staying there. But by the time I got to the shore, you were leaving.

Rita: How did you end up getting this wet?

Bobby: It's a really...really long story. But to get right to the point; before I came back, I heard everything you guys did in Loch Loud...especially what the lil' dude did.

(He then explained how after hearing the stories, he texted Ronnie Anne everything he saw and heard at Loch Loud. After that, she texted her buddies across Great Lakes City and word soon started to spread across the state. By the time it all reached Royal Woods, some people *mostly Scoots* were skeptical about these stories.

But when they saw the pictures, all those doubts went right out the window.)

Mayor Davis: It wasn't until Mr. Santiago showed us the eye witness testimonies about the events in question when we finally started to believe everything. Then, I asked for Katherine Mulligan to get the word out through town as quick as possible. After that, well...

(she hands Lincoln the paper, where he proceeds to read every word; taking some special interest in what the Loch Loud residents had to say. By the time he finishes, his eyes start to mist up slightly and he smiles)

(Just then, Mayor Davis calls for everyone's attention and looks down at Lincoln)

Mr. Loud...I speak for all of Royal Woods when I say that we've experienced a lot of your family's...shall we say, escapades over the years

(The Louds all murmur/chuckle sheepishly amongst themselves at this)

Mayor Davis: However, after reading this recent slew of news from overseas; I can safely say that you have now done something...that no one in your family has done before.

Lynn Sr: And...what's that, Ma'am?

Mayor Davis: *smiles slightly* Your son...surprised us, Mr. Loud

(The family gasps, including Lincoln)

Mayor Davis: It's on that note that I wish to say...that I will be keeping an eye out for more "surprises" from you all, in the future. But until that day comes, all I can really do is...wish you all luck in your future endeavors.

(The Loud Siblings smile hopefully and then, Mayor Davis gives Lincoln a soft grin)

And as for your son, all I can say is...I hope you'll keep on surprising people, in the future.

(With these few simple words, Lincoln suddenly felt a sense of self-worth he hadn't felt since the day he learned he would become duke. But unlike that day, he made a personal vow to not let the praise go to his head again. Still, he hoped he'll be able to "keep surprising people" in his own way like the mayor suggested)

(The next day at school, a collection of his classmates surround him at the lunch table; asking him all manner of questions about his family's vacation in Scotland)

Girl Jordan: What was your ancestral home like?

Paige: Was the castle as nice looking as the ones in the movies?

Elliot: Did you really meet up with ghosts and a dragon?

Kaito: Did you eat any haggis and if so...what did it taste like?

Rusty: *while acting like a bouncer* Back it up, folks...one at a time. The Duke will answer any questions you might have.

Lincoln: Rusty, I told you; I'm not the duke anymore... Angus is. I'm just back to bein' plain old, ordinary me again

(Just then, Chandler cries out with a jeering insult)

You forgot lame, doofus!

(He and his crew burst out laughing; prompting Stella to tell him to knock it off)

Trent: C'mon, Zhao; I can't believe you idiots are buying into his lies. There are no such things as ghosts, dragons and his "royal ancestry" is just a big hoax!

Lincoln: If what Bobby shared with everyone isn't proof enough for ya, I dunno what will be.

Lance: HA! Tell ya what, Loud; if anything we heard is legit...me and the guys will eat our jock straps!

*Trent, Chandler and the rest of the group at their table cry out in protest*

(Just then, a strange orb of green light appears above the cafeteria; alarming not only the kids but also Chef Pat and Meryl too)

Meryl: WHAT IN TARNATION IS THAT?!

(The orb grows larger and larger until it takes on the form of what looks like a ghostly look-alike of Lincoln. He floats down to the boy in question and smiles, oblivious to the trembling children around him)

The Duke: *in a young Scottish accent* So sorry to be disturbin' your mealtime, lad...but ye forgot somethin' back at the castle

(He tosses over a medallion to Lincoln, which reads "Champion of Loch Loud" with the Loud Family dragon crest on it. After that, the former Duke says his farewells and disappears; leaving Lincoln to stare in awe at his new piece of bling)

(Meanwhile, some of the students start murmuring excitedly about what happened; while Chandler and Co. stare in dumbstruck silence)

(Just then, Chef Pat arrives with some hot sauce bottles and places them on their table with a smile)

Chef Pat: It'll help give your straps some flavor

(Chandler and Co. turn green with dread before passing out)
