A/N: Here's Chapter 2! Heading to Bayville High now, wonder who'll be there?
I DO NOT OWN XMEN EVOLUTION!
Chapter 2: Welcome to Bayville High
The beep of the alarm clock threw him off a bit, but Remy rubs his eyes and shuts it off. He groans a bit as he swings his feet over the edge of the bed, then stretches. He throws on a pair os black distressed jeans with a matching belt, putting a pack of cards in his right pocket, then throws on a navy blue tee. Remy brushes his teeth, then tousles his hair a bit, not really needing to brush his disheveled hair, nor do anything to the small scruff on his chin.
He grabs his coat, putting it on, a pair of brown boots then put on, then grabs his backpack-the blue fuzzy beast called Hank giving him some supplies for today. Remy lugs his backpack over his shoulder then heads downstairs where he can hear others in the kitchen. "Kurt!" Kitty shouts as he teleports in front of her.
"Whoops! Sorry, Kitty." Kurt gives a sheepish grin.
Kitty shivers, then pours her milk, Kurt grabbing a bagel. "Remember, no powers." Scott informs as Remy walks in, catching Kurt's appearance different. "Oh, Remy, glad you're here."
"What's up wit' Kurt?" Remy asks, his eye brow raised in question.
"Oh! I have to vear an image inducer so it cloaks my mutant appearance." Kurt explains, pointing to the watch on his wrist.
"Speaking of appearance," Hank pipes up. "We might have to give you one or have you wear contacts for your eyes."
Remy makes a bit of a face. "Yeah… dere not exactly normal."
Once Hank fixed him with something and Remy got something to eat, the students all head out the door, Scott driving some in his car with Warren and Jean in her van. Remy saw his reflection, noticing how his eyes looked like they were normal brown color instead of his usual red on black eyes. They were always referred to as demon eyes-some residents calling him Diablo Blanc.
Jean and Scott park their cars in the school parking lot, everyone getting out. "You're gonna have to go to the main office to get your schedule like Kurt, Kitty and Piotr, Remy. Bobby will show you guys the way." Jean says, who received a nod from the cajun.
"Man. A new school, so weird." Kitty comments after Remy caught up with the small group.
"Yeah, but you'll get used to it." Bobby shrugs.
"Crap. It's that guy, Lance!" Kitty ducks behind Piotr.
"Who?" Piotr asks.
"Lance Alvers, he, like, went to my old school and he's a mutant too. Ugh. Why is he here?!" Kitty groans.
"Seems like Toad has a few new buddies." Bobby comments, noticing a ginger haired boy standing next to Lance and Toad.
"Dey also mutants?" Remy asks.
"Yup. Not the good kind." Kurt nods. "Toad vas not villing to join ze X-men."
"X-men?" Remy questioned.
"It'z vat ve call ourselves. From vat Scott said ve help other mutants." Kurt explains.
Remy just nods. From the corner of his, he spots a girl with white streaks quickly passing through a couple students, intriguing him. "Who's.. dat?" He asks, feeling a bit entranced as he didn't get a look at her face.
"Don't know. She must be new." Bobby runs his chin, then leads them through the crowded halls of Bayville Highschool.
Bobby takes them to the office, which wasn't too far from the front entrance, telling the group they get there schedules there and to ask him, Scott or Jean for help if they need it. One by one, they get their schedules, Remy looking his over outside the office. He wasn't paying attention when he turned, bumping into someone. "Oh! Ah'm sorreh!" A girl says, but when Remy looked he noticed it was the same girl he had spotted earlier.
She had beautiful emerald eyes, white bangs framing each side of her face while her hair was just slightly above the shoulder but some strands had some natural curls. Her lips were luscious and a deep red color while she had light eye make up on and her skin like porcelain. He's never been so captivated by a girl before and her southern accent gave him a bit of longing for home, but also comforting. Shaking out of his fascination, he gives her his trademark smirk. "'S no problem, chére."
"Ah was just lookin' fer mah first class, ah didn't mean ta bump inta ya." She bites her lip a bit, looking down at her paper.
"Maybe we could look.. together?" Remy offers.
"Well ah don't think we would be goin' in the same direction."
"Den what's y' first period?"
"Language Arts in Room 110."
"Well den it looks like we are goin' in de same direction." Remy smiles, showing her his schedule.
"Well alright." She offers a small smile.
They two start walking down the hall, looking for the class, Remy glancing at her every now and then. "If y' don' mind me askin'," He starts, noticing her glance up at him with her green eyes, clearing his throat a bit. "What's y' name?"
"A- Rogue-Ah mean Rogue." Rogue introduces herself, mentally kicking herself for not getting used to using her new name. "Yoahs?"
"Remy." Remy smiles.
They get to class, sitting down in some seats and begin the day, though for Remy, most of his time was spent observing Rogue. He did, however, lose sight of her once class ended, since he got a couple girls go up to him and flirt with him-which wasn't unusual for him but he wanted to walk with Rogue some more.
The school day went on, Remy sitting at a lunch table with Kurt, Bobby and Piotr. Kitty comes over with her lunch, noticing Jean was sitting next to a blonde football jock at a table with other jocks and some girls, while Scott sat at a table with a few of his friends and Warren. "Sooo? How was your guys first day so far?" Bobby asks.
"Horrible, Lance, like, won't leave me alone." Kitty groans as she picks up her sandwich.
"Not so bad." Piotr shrugs.
"So far so good." Kurt smiles then takes a bite of his apple.
Remy was too busy looking around to answer, receiving a nudge from Kurt. "Huh? Fine.. I guess." He says, still a little distracted.
"Looking for someone?" Piotr asks.
"De girl I saw earlier," Remy says. "We had first period t'get'eh and den i never saw 'er 'gain."
"Somebody has a crush." Kitty teases.
"What can I say, she piques m' interest." Remy shrugs with a smirk.
"Uh oh. Incoming." Kurt says lowly.
"Yo, Iceman, see you got a few new friends." Toad says.
"Sure do, looks like you do too." Bobby remarks.
"Yeah, got a few." Toad nods.
"You X-men best be watchin' yer backs." The ginger says with a grin, playing with a lighter.
"Oh yeah? You're out numbered." Bobby makes his fist turn into ice.
"Bobby," Kitty hisses. "No powers, remember?"
Bobby sighs, turning his hand to normal. "Right, my bad."
"Heh. Good thing we aren't afraid to use our powers." Lance says.
"We won't fight you today, but next time be prepared cause we got a secret weapon!" Toad exclaims.
"Oh ja?! Well, you're still outnumbered!" Kurt exclaims back as the trio walks to their own table.
"Dere gone." Remy says.
"Ja, I know." Kurt sighs, then takes another bite of his apple.
Lunch continues on, then ends and the rest of the school day continued. Remy was a bit bored in his french class waiting for it to start when he sees Rogue walk in, making him perk up. "We meet again, chère." Remy smiles.
Rogue looks up from her schedule, surprised. "Two classes tagethah huh?"
"Seems so." Remy just smiles at her.
Rogue sits in front of him, fidgeting with her gloves she had on her hands a bit. She knew she was fine with her long sleeved green shirt, but she still worried. After learning about a bit of info from Irene and her friend Raven, Rogue found herself a little more filled in on what she was and what her purpose of being here was. She wasn't expecting to meet another southerner this far up north, but found his accent and charm comforting in her own way. But she knew she couldn't get close. Not again. She was still catching guys attention like she did at her previous school, though she was more outgoing before her powers kicked in, but now that she knows what she can do, she became more introverted.
Rogue forces her brain to focus on the assignment the teacher was having them do, trying to distract herself from anything her mind was telling her, but couldn't help but feel a gaze on her every now and then.
Remy glanced up every now and then from his paperwork to gaze at the back of her head. The bell rings, Rogue grabbing her things and leaving to go to her locker, opening it up to switch some things out to get ready to go home. "Hey there, you new?" A guy standing next to her asks.
Rogue looks over and shuts her locker. "Yeah."
"Maybe I can show you around some time, or take you out?" The guy smiles.
"Ah'll fahnd mah own way 'round thanks." Rogue dismisses him and starts to walk away.
He grabs her arm, shocking Rogue. "Hey! I'm just being nice, c'mon."
"Let go of meh!" Rogue growls.
"Hey chill out, I'm a nice guy."
"If ya were nice then ya would let meh go!"
"He botherin' y' chére?" Remy asks with his arms crossed, a cold, icy glare staring at the guy who immediately lets go.
"Sorry, didn't know she was your girl." The guy holds his hands up then runs away.
"Thanks. Ah was ready ta punch him, but ah guess that works too." Rogue puts a strand of hair behind her ear.
"No problem." Remy smiles.
"Well, ah gotta go. Ah'll see ya tamorrow Remy." Rogue smiles, then turns and leaves.
"Yeah… see ya." Remy watched her leave, then he goes into the other direction to meet up with Piotr and Kurt.
"Well, today could have been worse." Warren comments as he stood next to Scott's car.
"Yeah, but it was fine and no one used their powers so that's good." Scott sighs.
"Let's just hope the rest of the week goes by well, too." Warren opens the unlocked door and sits down.
Scott noticed Remy, Piotr and Kurt coming out of the school, heading towards the parking lot and chatting. Piotr looks off to the side and noticed Kitty talking to Lance, excusing himself. "Katya, we are leaving. Are you coming?" He asks.
Kitty looks over to Piotr and smiles. "Yeah! I'm coming, Pete."
Kitty walks away from Lance, not noticing the looks both boys gave each other. Piotr just walks away silently, while Lance crossed his arms. Kitty smiles as she gets into Jean's car, buckling up, Piotr getting in after her. Remy looks out the window as Jean starts her car once everyone was inside her car, Scott was already leaving. He notices Rogue standing on the side of the school building, on her cell phone, her facial expression a little worried and pained. He can feel her anxiety coming off of her, but he could only watch as Jean drove away from the school.
Rogue had left the school building, hearing her phone ring in her pocket. She looks and notices the caller ID was her dad's, making her stomach churn. She turns a corner where no students were and picks it up. "Hello?" She answers.
"Anna-Marie, where are ya?! Ah got a call from yoah school sayin' ya didn't show up ta any of yoah classes. And Ah just found out from Cody's mothah he's in a coma in the hospital! What is goin' on?!" Rogue winces as he yells into the phone.
"A-ah'm sorreh, ah was gonna tell ya… Ah just.."
"You just what? Thought you could leave without telling me-what's going on?!"
Rogue bites her lip. "It was mah fault that Cody's in the hospital raght now."
"What do ya mean?" He asks, confused and concerned.
Rogue takes a deep breath. "Ah… Ah'm a mutant. He kissed meh an' mah skin made him go unconscious. Ah have his thoughts, his memories, and ah didn't know what happened or what ah was until the day aftah ah ran away. Ah'm sorreh ah didn't tell ya."
She stood there as he was silent on the other end, her heart racing. "Say somethin'!" She exclaims, panic in her voice.
"What do ya want meh ta say othah than mah daughtah's a freak who hurt a kid?! Yoah not mah daughtah anymo'! Yoah disowned from evah showing back home! Yoah no daughtah of mahne!" Her father yells, then hangs up, leaving Rogue shaking and tears forcing to pour out.
Rogue sinks to her knees, covering her mouth to stifle a sob while her eyes were wide. Getting up and composing herself, she starts to head home where she was staying, her mind trying to forget what had just happened. She opens the door, sighing as she enters. "Hey, looks like Rogue's home." Toad says as he looks up from the coach.
"Oi, sheila, where ya been?" The ginger asks.
"None ya business John." Rogue ignores them and looks ahead as she goes up the stairs.
"Well she didn't have ta be so rude." The Aussie named John frumps.
"She'll get use to this place. Mystique said she's coming home later to tell us some info." Lance sighs as he sits back against his chair.
Rogue shuts her bedroom door, rubbing her eyes a bit. She frowns as she looks at herself in her mirror, fixing her make up that slightly ran down her cheeks. She wished things were better and she wished she didn't have her cursed powers.
