This is the future Puss in Boots 3: The 7 deadly sins!

10 years after the events of the previous film; Puss and Kitty have moved to far far away and have welcomed 6 young kittens named Nita, Toro, Maza, Leche, Peso, and Canon. The cats' family dog, Perrito has 3 pups of his own, Perrita (Perra), Perrito Jr. (Perri), and Pancho. In an alternate dimension (most likely the afterlife), Death is revealed to have 5 pups of his own: Lament, Pluto, Cerberus, Whistle, and Reaper. The wolf is also revealed to have a sister, Vida (or life). Vida likes to joke about how her brother lost a hunt to a cat, which annoys (and somewhat amuses) Death, Lament, and Pluto.

Death is also revealed to be the son of Mother Nature and Father Time. One day, Lament and Pluto witness Vita being kidnapped by winged lizard like-creatures that take her away from her world. Narrowly escaping the lizards, themselves, Lament and Pluto alert their father about Vida's kidnapping. Death tells his pups they need help from some old friends to save Vida. In the living world, Nita is bullied at school for her chimera cat appearance and her high intelligence levels. Nita's siblings defend her, and escorts her away. They come home and explain to their parents what happened.

However, Puss claims it's a good way to toughen her up and learn to become a hero, angering Kitty and saddening Nita, her siblings, and friends. Later that afternoon, Nita's brother, Canon, and friend Perra take her to a park and tries to cheer her up, claiming the bullies were just jealous they weren't as smart and beautiful as her. Nita is lightened up by this but are interrupted by a wolf sitting next to the three, them. The wolf reveals herself to be Lament and begins making small talk with the cats and dog. Lament reveals she too had been bullied due to her eyes being different colors.

Nita and Perra are keen on befriending Lament, but Canon is visibly suspicious. Lament reveals she was looking for Puss in boots with her siblings and father, angering Canon, remembering his father's story about his encounter with Death, the wolf. However, Nita manages to calm her brother down. After a brief argument, Nita, Perra, and Canon (reluctantly) agree to take Lament to see Puss. Later, they meet Lament's brother, Pluto who accidentally startles Canon and rashly challenges the black wolf. Pluto takes this as a joke and playfully dismisses Canon. Once again, Nita argues with her brother and the group continues with Pluto.

In a pub, Puss, Kitty, and Perrito are greeted by Death and his sons Reaper and Cerberus, and daughter Whistle. At first, Puss believes Death is there to take him or one of his kittens. However, the wolf reveals his sister had gone missing and needs their help to rescue her. With Kitty and Perrito's insistence, Puss reluctantly agrees. With no one willing to babysit, Puss and Kitty let their kittens come along plus Perra, Perri, and Pancho. While traveling through a forest, the group is ambushed by winged lizards but are rescued by a group of bounty hunters; Alaska, a husky; Connor, a cougar; Strawberry, a teenage bear; and Luna, a young black cat.

The team is led by a vixen named Zorra, who Death takes a liking to. The group settles for the night and Zorra reveals they are after the 7 deadly sins; Greed, Pride, Sloth, Lust, Envy, Wrath, and Gluttony, in order to prevent them from taking over the world, due to them losing their families to the sins. Meanwhile in an unnamed volcanic mountain, Vida is confronted by a massive shadow who reveals himself to be her cousin. The next day, the group run into Goldilocks and the three bears and their pets; phoenix Firefly, and dogs Coco, Rabbit, Lockjaw, and Roma, who decide to help out after revealing they were attacked by the sin Gluttony, claiming he ate all their food and nearly killed Baby.

Strawberry and Baby seem to take a liking to each other, as do Connor and Goldi. The group encounter man-eating Venus fly trap plants, giant flying killer wasps, and a wild river log ride. The group also braves against the flying winged lizard demons. Along their way, the group is trapped and separated in a rocky chasm. While trying to find a way out, a massive rainstorm hits and causes a dam to be destroyed, flooding the chasm and nearly drowning everyone. Everyone manages to climb out of the chasm, using the rising waters as a lift to the surface. Unfortunately, Nita, Perra, and Lament are swept off to a canyon.

Nita injures her paw and is slammed against a bundle of logs that used to hold the dam. A massive rock hurdles towards her but Lament appears in time to slice it in half using her jade swords. The flood stops and the water recedes through the canyon. Lament saves Nita from an aftershock panic attack by singing a song, which causes her fur to glow. Nita sets her injured paw on Lament's glowing fur, which heals it immediately, revealing Lament's special gift was "magical healing fur" (Lament states earlier that each demigod/demigoddess has a magical ability. However, Lament hadn't been able to access her own power yet).

Nita thanks Lament before being discovered by Perra and the others who had witnessed Lament's power. After escaping the canyon, the team celebrate. Lament and Nita tell each other a little about themselves; Nita was born a prodigy, having a high intelligence level for reading, fighting, and math. However, she is bullied for this and her odd appearance. Lament was also made fun of for not being able to use her gift and because of her heterochromia eyes. With this connection, Nita and Lament gain a mutual respect for one another. The bounty hunters compliment their new friends' bravery and skills in the flood and welcome them into their group.

Later, Zorra and Death have a private conversation. Zorra reveals when she was a child, the sins had kidnapped her and her family and took them to their leader, Diablo. Zorra's father challenged Diablo but was killed along with the rest of his family, Zorra being the sole survivor. Zorra escapes with the help of Sloth and Lust who strongly advised against Zorra's family being murdered. She eventually became a bounty hunter and had been plotting her revenge ever since. Death assures Zorra he'll do anything to help defeat the sins and Diablo.

Connor, Luna, Alaska, and Strawberry reveal to Perrito, Goldi, and the 3 bears that their parents were murdered by the sins and had been orphans their whole lives. Zorra had took them in, trained them and helped them. Alaska and Perrito share a tender moment, revealing to have similar backstories and even share a nose-to-nose kiss. The next morning, the group is attacked by a rock cyclops. Nita rescues her father from being crushed but refuses to let anyone help her (saying she needs to learn to fight on her own). Puss supports her decision but Canon leaps onto the cyclops's face to save Nita.

Death steps in and slices the monster's club in half and taunts the monster for raising its weapon to a child. Puss attempts to strike the monster and says to the onlookers he will show them how a real hero fights but is backhanded by the Cyclops, amusing Death, Pancho, Cerberus, and Reaper. Perrita and Whistle sing a lullaby to the monster, lulling it calmly to sleep. Perrita then make a point to everyone (including the audience) that some things can be solved without violence. Later, Death, Goldi, and Kitty argue with Puss about not helping Nita. Puss defends himself saying it was Nita's idea to fight alone and she needed to learn how to be a hero.

Kitty states Nita could've died because she was trying to prove herself to him and how much Puss was too loose on their kittens' safety and wanting them to be danger-loving heroes like him. Goldi states that Puss was being selfish and wanted his kids to be just right, in his way. She also reminded him of her own selfish desire for things to be just right which almost cost Goldi her family, (a reminder of the second film). Finally, Death states he loves his own kids despite their differences and respects them for who they are instead of who he wants them to be. The group later encounters a massive cave filled with gold and treasures.

Strawberry theorizes that the cave belongs to the sin Greed. Letting his old ways get to him, Puss becomes excited over the sight of the gold and decides to teach his kids how to "borrow" gold. Despite Maza and Canon's warnings, Puss picks up a bar of gold and is startled by a growl from under the gold. Nita pulls her father away from the pile and prepares to fight. However, the growl came from a young dragon who appeared to be waiting for its mother. Despite her father's best efforts to keep her away, Perrita runs up to the dragon and decides to befriend it. Nita and Lament also successfully bond with the dragon.

The 3 friends name their new friend Crownflash. A few days of traveling later, the group finds and infiltrates the sins' home in the volcanic mountain. Nita, Lament, Perrito, Perri, Canon, and Perra locate and free Vida, Puss, Kitty, their kittens, Goldi, the bears, and the bounty hunters battle the sins and their henchmen. Death confronts Diablo who is revealed to be a dragon. Diablo is Death and Vida's estranged cousin who was banished from their home for trying to make an attempt on Father Time's life after the latter refuses to give Diablo the throne of the afterlife. Diablo had the sins kidnap Vida to lure Death to him so he could kill the former and imprison the latter (as Death could not die), as they were in his way of taking over the world.

Zorra interferes with the fight to try and take revenge for her family. After recognizing Zorra, Diablo begins to mock her and Death, forcing his cousin to reveal his identity to the young bounty huntress (hiding under the name Lobo). However, this hardly fazes Zorra as she had already figured out who he really was just by his demeanor. Nearing the end of the battle, Lament saves Nita from being hit by an arrow shot by one of the lizards. However, Lament is hit herself while her back is turned. Alerted by Nita's cries for help, everyone abandons their fight to save Lament. Despite everyone's best attempts to help, Lament succumbs to her injury.

Nita asks Death to take one of her lives and give it to Lament but the wolf refuses, claiming he could only take life not give it. However, Vida convinces her brother to extract one of Nita's lives and is able to insert the life into Lament's body, reviving her. Diablo sees this, taunts the group, and orders the sins to execute them. The sins refuse and turn on Diablo, having been moved by Nita's selfless act. Being outnumbered and physically weakened, Diablo gives up. He bids his cousins and the sins farewell and flies off, while swearing revenge against them all. The sins apologize for their actions and allow the group to leave unharmed.

Lust and Sloth reveal they were just working for Diablo because he threatened them. The other sins deny this but are intimidated when Death threatens them. He states if either one of them goes near his sister, children, or friends again, he'd have them for snacks. He also warns them that he is not one to bluff. After arriving back home, the group say their goodbyes to each other. In an emotional moment, Perrito states he wants Alaska to be his new mate (having lost Perra, Perri, and Pancho's mother overseas). Upon Zorra's insistence, Alaska accepts. Connor and Strawberry also join Goldi and the 3 bears' family.

Zorra decides to take in Luna as her daughter. Puss apologizes to Nita for not being a better dad and helping her when he had the chance. Nita claims there is nothing to forgive as her father allowed her to be herself; a hero. Death and Zorra have a tender moment before the former asks his new friend directly if she knows that they'll meet again, which she responds playfully they will, revealing she stole his sickles, tossing them back, and climbing a tree. Vida reassures her brother she'll be alright and to stay with his new friends. The wolf remarks how fun his new "life" was going to be before chasing after Zorra.

5 years pass and Puss and Kitty have thrown a quincera party for Nita, Lament, Perra, Maza, and Whistle. The entire land celebrates with a mash-up song and dance to Americano and Fearless Hero. Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Dragon, and other of Puss's friends come to wish the girls a happy quincera and congratulate Puss and Kitty for being awesome parents. Puss and Kitty are revealed to have three 5 year old daughters named Aliment, Campana, and Galleta. Perrito and Alaska have two pups named Pepper and Pilar. Goldi and Connor have a daughter named Panther. Baby and Strawberry have a son named Sonny.

And finally, Death and Zorra have two children named Garm and Hela. Vida arrives at the party with her own three children named Vine, Moon, and Hunter. The movie ends with everyone dancing with their partners and children; Nita, Lament, and Perrita hugging each other; and Death and Zorra nearly kissing but Puss inturrupts and politely excuses himself from them and the audience.

The end...or is it!
