Note: Gilmore Girls is a WB/CW show that was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Rory Gilmore and Paris Geller were in a happy, loving relationship. They figured that as long as they were together, life would keep getting better and better. Most people in Stars Hallow were happy for them. However, there were a few people who gave Rory and Paris a hard time. Rory's ex-boyfriends, Dean Forester and Jess Mariano, were not okay with the fact that Rory had moved on with her life. They both wanted her back, but Rory had lost interest in dating either of them.

One afternoon, Rory was at the local library. As usual, she was looking for books to read. She had more books than anybody in Stars Hallow, but that didn't stop her from wanting to expand her collection. The library had a selection of books that were for sale. Rory looked around the selection of discount books. She saw a book about supernatural spirits that caught her interest. She was about to grab it, but before she could, Jess grabbed the book. Rory folded her arms, while Jess started skimming through the book. Rory said, "Ahem."

Jess looked up at Rory. He smiled at her, while saying, "Hi, Rory. Can I help you with something?"

Rory said, "I was going to get that book."

Jess replied, "Really?"

Rory said, "Yes I was, so can you hand it over?"

Jess replied, "I'm sorry, but I grabbed it before you could. Because of that, I'm the one that gets to purchase it."

Rory said, "Come on, Jess."

Jess continued looking at the book, while saying, "So, this is a book about ghosts and stuff. That sounds pretty cool. I think I'm going to like this story."

Rory said, "I saw the book before you did, so could you give it to me?"

Jess put his hand on his chin, while saying, "I suppose I could do that. However, if I give you this book, you have to do me a favor."

Rory asked, "What's the favor?"

Jess answered, "You have to go on a date with me."

Rory raised an eyebrow, while saying, "You have to be kidding."

Jess replied, "I'm not."

Rory said, "I can't go on a date with you."

Jess asked, "Why not?"

Rory said, "I'm dating Paris."

Jess replied, "Then you should dump her."

Rory started looking upset, while saying, "I'm not going to do that."

Jess asked, "Why not?"

Rory said, "I love Paris."

Jess replied, "That might be true, but you have dumped plenty of people that you loved, including Dean, Logan and yours truly. Why should Paris be any different?"

Rory had an angry expression on her face, while saying, "I wouldn't dump Paris for the heck of it."

Jess replied, "I don't see why not."

Rory tried to reach for the supernatural book, but Jess tossed the book into the trash. Rory said, "You're being an unreasonable jerk."

Jess pretended to look offended, while saying, "Wow, that was uncalled for."

Rory replied, "You know what? I have no desire to continue this conversation." Rory started walking away.

Meanwhile, Paris was at Doose's Market. Since she had started dating Rory, she had been spending a lot more time in Stars Hallow. A majority of her shopping was done in Stars Hallow, to the point where a lot of the citizens considered her an unofficial resident of the town.

As Paris was shopping, Dean noticed her. Dean was supposed to be working at the market, but he decided to take an unscheduled break. As Paris was reaching for a carton of milk, Dean started tapping her on the shoulder. Paris turned around and saw Dean. Dean nervously smiled and waved. Paris asked, "Can I help you?"

Dean said, "I wanted to talk to you."

Paris asked, "Why?"

Dean said, "Because you're dating Rory."

Paris smiled, while saying, "I sure am."

Dean started looking nervous, while saying, "I have a favor to ask you."

Paris asked, "What is it?"

Dean replied, "I know that you and Rory went from being rivals to being friends. I think that's great. After all, Rory's the best person to be friends with. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, can you and Rory go back to just being friends?"

Paris had a confused look on her face, while grabbing the carton of milk and asking, "What are you talking about?"

Dean said, "I want you and Rory to get along and be friends, but I don't want you to keep dating her."

Paris started getting upset, while asking, "Why not?"

Dean said, "Because I love Rory."

Paris replied, "Well, I'm sorry, but she's dating me."

Dean said, "I'm sure that you and Rory have a good relationship, but it doesn't have to be a relationship that lasts forever. Don't you think it's time that you let her go?"

Paris replied, "If anybody should be letting her go, it's you." Dean was so upset that he took the milk carton of milk and tossed it into the trash.

Taylor walked by, while looking at Dean and asking, "What do you think you're doing? You just threw away a product that was supposed to be sold."

Dean nervously replied, "I'm sorry, but I was upset."

Taylor responded, "Well, you might as well continue being upset, because I'm taking that out of your paycheck." Dean looked angry, while Paris looked happy.

A few minutes later, Rory returned to her house. She walked inside, while looking exhausted. The same could not be said for her mother, Lorelai. Lorelai had been drinking so much coffee that she was in a hyper mood. In fact, she was hopping around the living room. Rory angrily sighed, while saying, "Jess is driving me crazy."

Lorelai looked confused, while saying, "I thought that you had stopped dating him."

Rory said, "I had, but today, he showed up at the library and begged me to stop dating Paris."

Lorelai asked, "What's his problem?"

Rory said, "Apparently, he hasn't gotten over me. If that wasn't bad enough, Dean is also interested in me. Paris told me that Dean tried to make her dump me."

Lorelai replied, "So, two desperate guys are still trying to impress you?"

Rory answered, "More or less."

Lorelai hopped closer to Rory, while saying, "Look, I know that Dean and Jess might seem like jerks, but they're probably just going through a hard time. I'm sure that they'll learn to leave you alone."

Rory replied, "Frankly, I'm not so sure about that. I was really excited to check out the new book about supernatural spirits, but Jess threw it away."

Lorelai said, "No offense, but he might have done you a favor."

Rory had a confused look on her face, while asking, "What are you talking about?"

Lorelai replied, "I know that you're probably trying to break the world record for person who has read the most books. By this point, you've probably topped Hermione's record, so there's no need to keep reading." Rory rolled her eyes.

That night, Rory was sleeping in her bed. She was having a nice dream about her Paris having a date at the library. Most people in Stars Hallow thought that reading was too much work, so Rory was glad that Paris shared her love of reading.

Suddenly, Rory heard the sound of someone turning the doorknob. She assumed it was her mother, but it wasn't. She opened her eyes and saw a man that was dressed as a ghost. Rory nervously asked, "What's going on?"

The ghost man started walking around Rory's bedroom, while saying, "Greetings, Ms. Gilmore. I am a ghost! I'm not going to hurt you or anything, so don't get too scared. If you want to get scared about something, you should be afraid of your questionable life choices."

Rory asked, "What are you talking about?"

The ghost man explained, "You have been dating Paris Geller. She seems like a nice person, but she's not the right person for you. You should dump her, so you can start dating someone better."

Rory folded her arms, while saying, "You have no right to judge my relationships."

The ghost man said, "I'm a ghost! Because of that, I'm smarter than any human that you have ever met. In fact, I'm probably smarter than you. If you want to become a smarter person, you'll tell Paris to hit the road."

Rory replied, "I would never do such a thing."

The ghost man said, "You should reconsider that decision. If you dump Paris, I'll leave you alone. However, if you continue to keep wasting your time with her, I'll keep haunting you. Tomorrow night, I will return to haunt your home. By then, I hope you have reconsidered your life choices." The ghost man started walking away.

After the ghost man left, Rory went into Lorelai's bedroom and woke her up. Rory said, "Mom, I've got an unusual problem."

Lorelai got out of bed and started hopping around the room. She looked at Rory, while saying, "I usually don't like getting woken up. However, I drank more coffee than usual, so I'm still full of energy. What's going on?"

Rory answered, "A stranger came into my room."

After hearing that, Lorelai figured it was time to stop joking around. She had a concerned look on her face, while asking, "What are you talking about?"

Rory said, "A mysterious man, who was dressed like a ghost, came into my bedroom and told me to stop seeing Paris."

Lorelai sighed and replied, "You have got to be kidding. Even ghosts want you to leave Paris. Who would dress up like a ghost and break into our house?"

Rory answered, "Jess."

Lorelai asked, "Do you really think that Jess would do something like that?"

Rory said, "Yes I do. He wants me to date him. Plus, threw away my book about supernatural spirits. It has to be him."

Lorelai asked, "What are we supposed to do? Should we call the police or something?"

Rory replied, "The ghost said that he'd make another appearance tomorrow night. I think that we should stay up and catch him."

Lorelai had an amused look on her face, while saying, "So, are we going to start capturing ghosts? Does that mean that we'll become Ghostbusters?"

Rory replied, "I was thinking of the Mystery Inc. gang from Scooby-Doo, but either team would be good."

Lorelai put her hand on Rory's shoulder, while saying, "I can't believe that somebody would try to act like a ghost. We're going to stop whoever's doing this."

Rory replied, "Sounds good."

The next morning, Rory and Paris were having breakfast at Luke's Diner. Rory told Paris about the ghost incident. Paris was concerned about Rory, but Rory insisted that she was okay. Rory said, "Tonight, Mom and I are going to catch that ghost."

Paris replied, "I'm assuming that it isn't a real ghost."

Rory said, "It certainly isn't. It has to be Jess."

Paris replied, "Well, it could be somebody else."

Rory asked, "Who?"

Paris said, "It could be Dean."

Rory replied, "I don't think it could be him."

Paris stuck her hand in front of Rory's face, while saying, "You can't reject suspects without thinking it over. So far, your only suspect is Jess, but I think Dean should be considered a suspect, too. He's just as desperate as Jess is."

Rory sighed and said, "I suppose he is. Considering what you told me about him, dressing up as a ghost does sound like something he might do."

Luke Danes walked by and gave Rory and Paris a cup of coffee. He looked around and noticed that Lorelai wasn't there. He tried to not look too disappointed, while asking, "Where's Lorelai?"

Rory explained, "She wanted to come here and get more coffee, but I told her that was a bad idea. Yesterday, she had so much coffee that she was hopping like a rabbit."

Luke replied, "I wouldn't want her hopping around here, but it's too bad that she couldn't come."

Rory had an amused expression on her face, while saying, "It sounds like you miss her."

Luke replied, "I wouldn't say that I miss her, but it's too bad that she isn't here."

Paris said, "It sounds like you're smitten with her."

Luke angrily blushed and replied, "That's not true! Anyways, is everything okay?"

Rory said, "Well, your nephew might have become a ghost."

Luke looked confused, while asking, "What are you talking about?"

Rory said, "A fake ghost broke into my house and told me to stop seeing Paris."

Luke started looking concerned, while saying, "I certainly hope that Jess isn't the one who's impersonating a ghost."

Paris replied, "It's either him or Dean."

Luke put his hand over his face, while saying, "I can't believe this. I know that Jess has done some questionable stuff, but I didn't think that he would break into somebody's house."

Rory replied, "Tonight, I'll find out if he's the ghost. Paris might be right. Jess isn't the only suspect, because it could also be Dean."

Paris looked at Rory, while saying, "Tonight, I want to stay over at your house and help you and your mom catch the fake ghost."

Rory replied, "Paris, it could be dangerous."

Paris put her arm around Rory, while saying, "Rory, you're my girlfriend, so whenever you're in a dangerous situation, I want to do whatever I can to help you. Besides, I'm mad at the ghost for trying to separate us. I want to give him a piece of my mind."

Rory smiled, while saying, "Thank you for always being there for me."

Paris replied, "It's my pleasure."

That night, Rory, Paris and Lorelai got on their pajamas and started hanging around the living room. They had most of the lights turned off, so that it would seem like they were tired. However, all three of them felt more than ready to catch the ghost man. Lorelai was so excited about the situation that she wanted to hop around the living room, but Rory told her to not do that.

Rory looked at Paris, while asking, "Are you okay?"

Paris said, "I think so. However, I don't like the idea of somebody trying to scare you."

Lorelai said, "As much as I love pranks, I also don't like the idea of somebody trying to freak Rory out."

Rory said, "To be honest, I was quite surprised to see somebody dressed like a ghost. However, it wasn't too scary. If anything, it was just weird."

Lorelai looked at Rory and Paris, while asking, "Do either of you girls want some coffee? I'm thinking about making a fresh batch."

Paris said, "I suppose a cup of coffee could help us stay awake."

Rory replied, "True, but Mom better not drink too much. Nobody wants to watch her impersonate a hopping rabbit."

Lorelai went to the kitchen, while Rory and Paris held hands and smiled at each other. Rory was about to give Paris a kiss, but she heard somebody walking to the door. She said, "I think that the ghost is coming."

The ghost man walked to the front door and opened it. He stepped inside and started walking around the living room. After seeing Rory and Paris, the ghost man said, "Hello, ladies. Rory Gilmore, since this is your house, I was expecting you to be here. However, the presence of Ms. Geller is a surprise."

Rory replied, "Paris is always welcomed at my home. The same can't be said for you."

The ghost man said, "Actually, I'm glad that you invited Paris to come here."

Rory asked, "Why?"

The ghost man started pacing around the room, while saying, "Because it gives you a chance to end your relationship with her." He started looking at Paris, while saying, "Ms. Geller, I'm sure that Rory means a lot to you, but that doesn't give you the right to keep dating her."

Rory angrily stood up and said, "You don't have the right to come into my house and judge me!"

The ghost man replied, "I'm a ghost, so I'm an expert at relationships. I know what's best for you. Instead of listening to Paris or your mother, you should listen to me."

Rory said, "You're pathetic."

The ghost man started walking closer to Rory, while saying, "That's not the type of thing that you should be saying to a ghost. I could give you chills that are far scarier than anything you could ever imagine."

Rory and Paris weren't scared of the ghost man, so they started throwing pillows at him. The ghost man was surprised and upset that tons of pillows were being thrown at him. Rory and Paris grabbed the couch cushions and tossed them at the ghost man. The ghost man fell to the ground.

Lorelai came into the living room, while carrying three cups of coffee. She looked down and saw the ghost man on the ground. She looked at Rory and Paris, while asking, "Did you already defeat him?"

Rory answered, "We sure did."

Lorelai looked disappointed, while saying, "I wanted to be a part of the action."

Paris said, "If you want, you can take the ghost's costume off."

Lorelai replied, "Sounds like fun." She reached down and started pulling the costume off of the ghost man.

Rory, Paris and Lorelai looked down at the fake ghost. Instead of the ghost man being Dean or Jess, it was Taylor. Rory looked shocked, while saying, "Mr. Doose?"

Taylor got up and said, "I was just pretending to be a ghost. Although I did a great job at impersonating a ghost, I assure you that I'm not a real ghost."

Paris replied, "Duh."

Rory had a confused look on her face, while asking, "Why would you pretend to be a ghost?"

Taylor answered, "I was offered a large sum of money to scare you away from Paris."

Rory replied, "What?"

Dean stepped out of a garden bush and walked into the house. He nervously smiled and waved at Rory. He explained, "Rory, I love you. My love for you is so great that I paid Taylor to act like a ghost. I know that this might seem like a desperate move, but it was an act of love."

Rory angrily replied, "There's nothing romantic about what you did. It was pathetic and wrong."

Dean said, "I did what I thought was right."

Lorelai replied, "Then you know nothing about decent relationships."

Dean sighed and responded, "That might be true."

Suddenly, Jess stepped out of a garden bush and went inside. He looked at Dean, while asking, "You hired Taylor to act like a ghost?"

Dean answered, "Yeah."

Jess said, "I did the same thing."

Rory said, "What?"

Taylor explained, "First, Dean came to me and asked me to scare Rory away from Paris. A few hours later, Jess came to me and asked me to do the same thing. Because of that, I got twice as much money as I was expecting."

Rory looked at Dean and Jess, while saying, "Both of you should be ashamed of yourselves."

Jess replied, "Dean deserves all the shame, but I don't."

Rory rolled her eyes and said, "Grow up."

Lorelai gave the guys a disapproving look, while saying, "All of you were acting incredibly immature and irresponsible. If you don't want me to call the police, you better get going."

Taylor said, "Well, I got paid, so I'm good to go." He walked out.

Dean looked at Rory, while saying, "I'm sorry."

Rory replied, "If you're truly sorry, you'll start leaving me alone." Dean nodded and walked out.

Jess looked at Paris, while asking, "Can't you just dump Rory? That would make things easier."

Paris replied, "That's never going to happen." Jess shook his fist and walked out.

Lorelai looked at Rory and Paris, while saying, "I'm glad that all of those weirdos are gone. I'm going to go drink some coffee and go to bed. Have a nice night."

Rory said, "I love you."

Lorelai replied, "I love you, too."

After Lorelai went into her bedroom, Rory looked at Paris, while saying, "If anything, this experience has taught us how strong our relationship is."

Paris asked, "What do you mean?"

Rory smiled, while saying, "Not even a ghost can keep us apart." Paris smiled back. Rory leaned closer to Paris and gave her a big kiss. Rory and Paris's relationship was like a ghost that could never be busted. Rory and Paris knew that their relationship would never end.
