Evan was usually a reserved and shy little boy. He never dared anything and was afraid of everything, especially of his older brother. That's what Cassidy thought until she managed to befriends him and make sure Evan hated Mike. It was after two days that she realized the kid was so fucking powerful. She grew jealous of his strength and didn't even know where it came from. Maybe because he was the first child to die, even before Charlie? But all that mattered to her was having Evan in her pocket and then finishing off William.
Gabriel quickly noticed that something was off between the two souls possessing Golden Freddy. Instead of being distant from each other as they had been since the beginning of their living at Freddy's, they were distancing themselves from their friends. The brown bear's soul carefully watched the two of them talk from the corner of his eye. He turned towards Jeremy, who was arguing with Fritz.
"Hey, dude, you got a second?"
"Hold on, Gabriel, this idiot just said that Toy Bonnie is more valuable than MY Bonnie!"
Fritz chuckled.
"Well, in his defense, unlike us, you lived with more than half of your face torn off!"
Jeremy pointed a finger at him.
"Yeah? What about old Foxy who couldn't even last a second against Fitzgerald's flashlight? Huh?"
The pirate fan shrugged.
"At least I wasn't fooled by that stupid bear mask."
Gabriel stepped in between the two.
"Can't we have a serious talk ? All of this is about the old restaurant, it's in the past."
Jeremy held back a laugh.
"Not really, Foxy is still out of service," he muttered.
Freddy's soul gave him a dark look to shut him up.
"Alright, don't you guys find something... different between Evan and Cassidy?"
His two friends turned foolishly towards the two in question. Gabriel hit them with his elbow.
"Stop staring at them like that goddamnit! Don't you know anything about discretion?"
"It's supposed to be Foxy who's discreet when he run to get Schmidt, not me!" complained Jeremy, rubbing his arm.
"I agree. It's true you're not very discreet when you're pounding on that door," Fritz chuckled.
"I, at least, managed to sneak into the vents last..."
"Guys, cut it out!" Freddy's soul ordered.
They fell silent.
"Now wait for me, I'm going to see what's going through their minds."
The soul hid in the shadows of the room and listened carefully to their conversation.
"Do you really think we should do that to him?" Evan asked curiously.
"Remind me, Evan, who was the one who locked you in your room for almost ten hours when he was supposed to take care of you? Who called you crybaby? Who's the worst brother in the world?"
"Michael Afton," the boy answered, fists clenched.
"See? Now, would you agree to put his filthy head into the mouth of an animatronic, just for fun?"
"After making him experience a real nightmare, of course ! But just for... for fun."
Gabriel shuddered upon hearing this new tone. Evan had never really had the chance to be malevolent; it was almost unsettling to see him so determined to hurt someone. He didn't even seem to hate William; he just wanted to pay back the favor to the children killed by his father. Nevertheless, the true hatred was directed at his older brother. When he returned, Fritz and Jeremy practically pounced on him.
"So? What happened?" they said simultaneously.
"I think Cass has completely messed with his head."
Their eyes widened.
"What do you mean?"
"Evan wants to finish up his older brother," Gabriel simply announced.
"Awesome! He's become a killer soul, just like us!" exclaimed Foxy's soul.
Jeremy shook his head.
"Yes, but no! Our target is William, not his brother. Michael hasn't done anything to us... We want Mike's head."
Freddy's soul scratched his chin.
"Exactly. Evan is convinced that Mike is his brother, even though we all know it's William Afton. Cassidy is making sure Evan gets rid of our killer, so that we can finally be free from this darn restaurant."
The other two nodded their heads silently.
"So, you're telling me that... for two days, she's been deceiving Evan to use him against Mr. Afton?" Jeremy clarified.
"She's really not stupid, when you think about it," Fritz admitted.
A presence behind them made them jump.
"Hey, friends!"
Foxy's soul slapped his forehead.
"Susie, what the fuck ! Never do that again! And... uh... where were you?"
"In the kitchen, as always! They have a really curious way of preparing pizzas, you know? Anyway, what did I miss?"
Gabriel shrugged.
"William is soon going to regret raising his knife against us."
"Soon? Meaning when?" the girl asked.
"When does Mike Schmidt come back?" Gabriel replied.
"Tonight, if I'm not mistaken," Jeremy responded.
"I give him three hours," Freddy's soul wagered.
"Me only one," Bonnie's soul added.
"You're way too generous, mate. Afton won't hold out that long! Evan seems really pissed. It'll be done in ten minutes," Foxy's soul corrected.
Susie nodded but still felt worried for Evan. This little boy wasn't used to being engaged with the idea of killing.
At dusk, Evan timidly approached his friends, Cassidy stood silently behind him.
"Hey Ev," Gabriel smiled, happy to finally be able to talk to him.
"I have something to ask you," the other replied.
"Go ahead," Fritz said, pretending not to know what he was talking about.
"Do you want to help me make my brother live a nightmare ?"
