A Selfish Heart
Chapter 8
By KellyQ
Haou burst into his brother's room when he heard Judai scream. Once Haou was in, he expected Judai to be thrashing in bed, but he did not expect to see a trail of piss leading to the bathroom. He raised a brow and walked into the bathroom. His eyes widened, and a spark of concern flashed across his face. Judai was sitting against the bathroom bathtub; he looked flushed, and his boxers and pajama pants were discarded on the way to the bathroom.
"Judai..." Haou called out consciously. He didn't want to startle his brother but, hopefully, coax Judai out of whatever world he was in. And the site of Judai sitting in his fluid made Haou want to vomit. Haou sighed and knelt in from Judai and shook his brother gently.
"Judai ... you need to clean up."
Judai slowly became aware that his brother came in and helped clean up. Haou began the tap water, helped Judai in the warm water, and scrubbed the piss off. However, it wasn't long before Judai started to let loud sobs out, prompting Yubel to come in with two short knives. It took a moment for Yubel to assess that something had upset Judai.
"What happened," Yubel asked. He walked to the tub to see if Judai was injured, but it only looked like Judai had pissed himself. "Judai ... will stop crying? There's no reason to be embarrassed that you pissed in your chamber..." The sobs started to concern Yubel. "Judai! Will you stop that and tell me what happened!"
"Now is not the time for that, Yubel!" Haou was not in the mood to deal with trying to calm Yubel down when his brother needed to come out and talk coherently about what happened before he found Judai sitting in piss.
It took a moment for Yubel to consider Haou's words, and he did help. Finally, Judai was cleaned up, dried, dressed, and tucked into bed. Judai's room was also cleaned up by a made; Judai was still crying. Yubel looked around the room and found nothing alarming to suggest that no bugs came into Judai's room to cause Judai to have adrenaline and run in the direction of his bathroom. Johan's favorite cup is the only thing evident - a Unicorn head cup.
Johan, meanwhile, could have been better too. However, he cleaned up and finished the tournament preparations in four hours. I am sorry, Judai ... I am not the right person for you, Johan thought as he crawled into bed.
Hoau was the first to notice the cup and put it all together. Then, he sighed, took his brother's hand, and stroked Judai's knuckles.
Also, Yubel concluded that Johan, at some point, came in and gave Judai something to drink. Just the thought of the kitchen boy angered Yubel.
"Judai..." Yubel called out to Judai. It took a moment for Judai to acknowledge that Yubel was addressing him. Yubel had Johan's cup in his hand. "Judai ... was Johan in here?"
Hoau sighed, knowing that Yubel had an unhealthy obsession with Judai's feelings for Johan. It is clear that Judai cared about Yubel, but that didn't go any further than respect. Yubel's crisp voice snapped Hoau out of his thoughts.
"I don't want to talk about it right now," Judai responded to Yubel's difficult question about why Johan was in his room. Judai didn't want to think about what he did to Johan. And It's bad enough that sexual urges for him! He thought.
"I think we should leave Judai alone, Yubel." Hoau got up, ready to take the cup away from Yubel; before he could put the cup back, Yubel moved Johan's cup out of Hoau's grasp. "Yubel ... I'm not in the mood for this," he warned. Hoau pulled out his dagger and pointed it at Yubel Juguler.
"Will you two stop fighting," Judai moaned, watching the whole thing before him.
Both Yubel and Hoau glanced at Judai before Yubel put the cup back on the knight stand, and Hoau put his knife back in its holster. The look on Judai's face told them that he wanted to be left alone. Anger started to surface between both Yubel and Hoau.
"Whenever you want to talk, I'm ready to listen," Hoau suggested, taking a rough hold of Yubel's arm, pulling him out of the room, and closing the door.
"Aren't we going to the direct source of your brother's sadness ..." Yubel asked, his voice laced with disgust. Jealousy was written all over his face, and Hoau had to admit it was cute, but Hoau wouldn't let Yubel kill Johan. Hoau didn't want his brother to fall into a pit of despair and never recover from Yubel doing something so cruel.
To Be continued ...
