Akagi may not have been issued a radar, but she was still a perceptive sort. She could sense and see other things that most people (or shipgirls) missed. Her and Kaga both, really. Anything she missed, Kaga was sure to pick up on, and vice versa. That's why, when the two of them were walking through the streets of the Sakura Empire's naval base, she stopped and perked her ears back.

"Do you hear that, sister?" Akagi said. Kaga stopped and turned her head, trying to determine what it was that Akagi had heard. The gentle breeze and din of chatter from nearby streets made it a little hard, but if Akagi could hear it she was certain that her sister could, too.

"I do," Kaga said. "Where is it coming from?"

"Over there," Akagi said after a moment, pointing down the street to an alley. The two of them approached, the sound getting louder as they did so. It was the sound of a young girl crying. One of the destroyers, no doubt. The two of them entered the alley and, lo and behold, there was one of them, huddled up by a stack of boxes. She looked up as the two carriers approached and screamed.

"KYAA! D-Don't eat me!"

"Oh, you're little Kisaragi-chan. Why are you crying?" Akagi asked, standing beside the little girl.

"I... I'm loooost! I can't find my sister! It's hopeless!"

Akagi knelt beside the little destroyer and wiped her tears, using her hand to stroke her hair reassuringly. "Ara, you poor, poor little thing."

"Where did you last see her?" Kaga asked, and Kisaragi looked up at her.

"We were... We got out of school and I was playing with a toy one of the Iron Blood girls gave me and I didn't see Mutsuki-chan wander off! Now I'm lost and I don't know where she is!"

Akagi put one of her fingers to her chin. "Ufufu~ Well we've got some time to help one of our little destroyers, don't we Kaga?"

"N-Nee-sama?!"

"I'm very good with children, so this won't take very long at all," Akagi said. She helped Kisaragi to her feet and held the destroyer's hand as she led her out of the alley. "Don't worry, I won't eat you. Not yet, anyway~"

"EEEK!"

"Don't tease the poor girl, nee-sama," Kaga said. Akagi just giggled. Together the three of them set out to where Kisaragi had last seen her sister, listening as Kisaragi went on about what she was doing when she lost track of Mutsuki. They checked in with some of the shops and facilities, but there was no sign of the destroyer girl anywhere. They left the streets and went out into the fields beyond the base, suspecting that Mutsuki had run off to play in the fields. A short distance from the base's edge they spot a small commotion by one of the sakura trees outside the base and approach. To Akagi's surprise it's Mutsuki, stuck way up on one of the tree's branches. Standing next to the tree is Fumizuki, freaking out.

"EEK! What are you doing up there?!" Kisaragi yelled, and ran up to the tree. Mutsuki seemed relieved to see her, though it didn't seem to Akagi that she was in that much distress.

"Kisaragi-chan! I'm trying to help Fumizuki-chan get her stuffed bear back! She was playing with it and accidentally threw it up here!" Mutsuki said, waving the stuffed bear around. "I got it, but... I can't get down now!"

"Ara, this won't do at all," Akagi said. "If you're stuck in the tree you won't be able to escort us on our next mission~"

"Y-Yeah, that too..." Mutsuki said.

Akagi walked up to the tree and, with a great leap, jumped up to the first level of branches before bounding up to where Mutsuki was, earning shocked yelps from all the destroyers. She took the stuffed bear from Mutsuki's grasp, scooped her up, and leapt down to the ground, landing next to Fumizuki. She set Mutsuki down and Kisaragi came running, hugging her sister and crying her eyes out.

"Here you are," Akagi said, handing the stuffed bear back to Fumizuki, who looked up at her with stars in her eyes. "Take better care of it now, OK~?"

Fumizuki bowed. "O-OK! Thank you, onee-sama!" she said, and ran off to join her sisters.

"Wow, nee-sama. You were...quite amazing there," Kaga said. Akagi giggled.

"Ufufu! I'm not as bad a person as some think me to be~" Akagi said. She approached the destroyers and knelt beside Kisaragi and Mutsuki, who were both still crying and hugging. "There, there, girls." She helped the both of them wipe the tears from their faces and reached into her sleeve to pull out a little bag. "Here, for the three of you." She handed the bag to Mutsuki, who opened it to find it was full of rock candy.

"Thank you so much, Akagi-sama!" Mutsuki said. "I'm glad you're around to keep us safe from planes!"

"I don't like planes..." Kisaragi said.

"Ufufu~ Think nothing of it, girls," Akagi said. "I just like to help, is all. Isn't that right, Kaga?" she asked with a wink. Kaga smiled at her.

"Does that mean you'll keep us safe from Ark Royal and all those other bad carriers from the Royal Navy on the next mission?" Mutsuki asked.

"Ark Royal is weird..." Fumizuki said.

"Ara, I don't think you girls will have to worry about Ark Royal for a while. Something tells me her and Bismarck-san are going to be a little busy with each other soon~" Akagi said, earning her cheers of joy from the destroyers. "Now run along you three, and look out for each other, alright?"

The destroyers bowed again and took off, running back to the streets of the base. Akagi and Kaga watched them go, remaining by the tree until the three of them disappeared from view. "Such rambunctious little things, aren't they?" Kaga asked.

"Ufufu, I think they're just so precious. Not so much as you though, dear sister," Akagi said. Kaga turned red and looked away, and Akagi laughed again. Together they began their trek back to the Sakura Empire naval base to enjoy the rest of their day together.
