Izuku Midoriya had not had a good day.
It started out like any other day; he woke up, got dressed, fed mighty( golden labrador), ate breakfast, and went to school. Only, today 'kacchan' was a… Little worse than usual.
Izuku stood alone on a rooftop half an hour after his idol crushed his dreams with just one word. His whole world came crashing down by a simple two letter word.
His eyes still unfocused, he made his way down the stairs. But suddenly, he stopped. 'What…. What if Kacchan is right?'. He looked back at the rooftop behind him.
'maybe… NO! What are you thinking, you deku! I WILL become a hero, no matter if anyone believes in me! I'll prove them all wrong! '
He continued down the stairs with a more determined expression on his face than he had had in a long time
…
Izuku arrived home with a lot more of a downtrodden face as he opened the door, the reality of his situation setting in.
'No one… No one believes in me…'
As he got his shoes off, his dog came up to him and tried to lick his face, only to get pushed down. "Not today boy.". Mighty just tilted his head, confused. "I just… had a bad day, okay?".
Inko, noticing the moody aura surrounding him, decided to make him a katsudon that night.'I wonder what's gotten him so gloomy… Not that he would tell me. I really wish he would trust me more…'
…
That night, he didn't particularly feel like wearing his All Might pajamas, so he wore the only other pair he owned. A green top with a singular horizontal, yellow line with plain black trousers.
Sometime in the middle of the night, our green haired cinnamon roll felt what he thought to be his dog Mighty jump onto his bed. 'must've been mum… Thank you. '
He cuddled with 'Mighty' and drifted back to sleep.
Izuku woke up to a loud scream… on top of him? His emerald eyes shot open to meet a pair of ruby ones. He quickly sat up, only to 'smash' his forehead into hers. Both let out a surprised yelp as they fell back onto the bed. Both lay there for a second, trying to piece together what the hell was going on.
'Why is there a girl in my room!? / Why the fuck am I in a boy's room!? '
Izuku, the first one to sit up, looked at the girl with no small amount of confusion. She had… the same clothes he was wearing? Only the trousers were shorts and the top was short sleeved. She had chocolate brown hair that ended just above her shoulders, slightly rosy cheeks and… WA-WAS THAT A KNIFE?!
"W-why am I here!?" The brunette asked, pushing the knife closer to Izuku's chest.
"I-I d-don't know! Y-you tell me! A-and please get off… Th-This is really really awkward…". He whispered the last part, unsure whether he really wanted that to happen. Blushing, Chara got off, but did not put down her knife.
"Who are you, where am I and why do you have so much merchandise for a very buff, creepy man?" she asked, two parts puzzled, one part disturbed. "I-Izuku…" he whispered, barely audible. " What?".
"Izuku Midoriya… That's my name. And you're in my r-room."
Chara narrowed her eyes "Okay, Izuku," she didn't know why but he blushed then "what type of soul do you have?"
"..."
"..."
"...w-what…?"
She rolled her eyes "come on dimwit, if you won't tell me I'll find out myself!" she said while pressing her knife into his chest. "I-I really don-"
"Izuku?" a worried Inko called through the door, "who are you talking to?" Izuku's eyes widened '... crap'.
Ignoring the sharp pain in his chest, he jumped forward to put a hand over Chara's mouth. "N-no one mum!" he shouted back,
"just on the phone!"
"O-oh!" his mother squeaked, surprised, as she knew the quirkless boy didn't have many, if any, friends at all "I-I won't keep you then. Say hello for me!" she smiled as she walked off into the kitchen to make breakfast.
"AH-" Chara bit his hand as he let go, cradling it with his other. "Who was that…?"she asked carefully. "M-my mum…" At his response, Chara allowed herself to relax a little 'no one who lives with their mum could be that dangerous.'
She shook her head quickly "A-anyway, we're getting off topic, what. is. your. soul. type?"
"I-I really don't-" Chara suddenly sighed, looking at the ceiling. " Ugh… Guess we're doing this the hard way then." Confused, the freckled boy tilted his head, asking "Do wha!?" his eyes went so wide you would have thought they were about to pop out of their sockets.
Chara had dropped her knife, the tip still lightly soaked in his blood, and reached out to touch his chest. Except, that's not what it felt like to the green haired boy. To him, it felt as if her hand had gone into him. The only way he could describe it would be like putting your hind into cooking oil, except he was the oil. He could feel her every move, and it felt as if her hand was searching for something, until she grabbed… something. He felt her hand draw out of his chest, leaving him with a strange sensation. He… almost felt… empty.
He was brought back to reality by a short gasp. He looked back at the mysterious girl in his room, only to see her staring wide eyed at a heart shaped… thing floating in her hands. It was shimmering, and was rainbow coloured. He had no idea what it was, but somehow he knew it was his. "Wh… What is that…?" Chara raised an eyebrow "Wait… you weren't kidding when you said you didn't know what a soul was?"
Izuku just shook his head "No… But am I right in guessing that that is my soul?" The brunette nodded her head "Yea, but I've never seen one like this… not even in textbooks. It looks like all of the core eight in one, minus hate of course." Izuku's head was spinning at this point. "... the what, sorry?"
"the core eight soul types; purple for perseverance, blue for integrity, cyan for patience, green for kindness, yellow for justice, orange for bravery, red for determination, that one is mine, the second, though maybe now third," she complained under her breath, " Black for hate, the (second…) rarest and there are also monster souls." she finished her explanation with an outstretched hand "By the way, my name's Chara. Nice to meet ya!" she said with a smile.
Blushing, he shook her hand, awkwardly smiling back at her. She pushed his soul back into his chest, and the weird empty feeling left. Though, a new, warmer feeling soon replaced it. 'Huh, I'll have to ask Chara about it later…'
"Hey, Izuku?" Chara sounded nervous.
"Um, yea?"
"How are you going to explain to your mum why you came out of your room with a girl she's never met?"
"... crap." He said simply.
"crap." she agreed.
