Ayaka was having lunch with Aether when Ayato came into the room.

"Greetings, Traveler," Ayato began. "I have something important to discuss with you."

"What is it?" Aether asked.

"It's more of a… private matter."

Ayaka watched as the two left the room, waiting for them to get out of earshot before sighing, and looking at the food still on the table. For whatever reason, she didn't have much of an appetite when Aether wasn't around.

She decided to leave the food and wait until Aether returned before continuing.

As she waited for a few minutes, however, she grew more impatient. It was unladylike of her to be that impatient easily, but she always felt that way when Aether invited her to do even the most mundane of tasks together.

She was curious about what was taking him and her brother so long and decided to overhear their conversation.

Ayaka got up and opened the door very slightly, just enough that she was able to see the two familiar figures in the distance conversing, though she still wasn't able to hear their conversation. She moved a bit closer and was able to recognize their words.

"...After all, you've been with her for almost two years."

"But… I… Marriage…? It's… I-I don't know how she will react though."

"From what I've seen, it's pretty obvious she won't say no to that."

"I… Okay then… But I need to think this through…"

Ayaka started shaking.

"M… Marriage? Marry Aether…?"

Her mind was overloaded with the mere thought of marrying Aether. It would mean that their relationship would be finalized, and she… she had no idea how she would deal with such a special occasion.

Ayaka felt herself grow lighter as joyful tears started trickling down her face. She thought she could fly and touch the fluffy clouds.

"I'm… I'm… I'm going to… I'm going to marry Aether! AHHHHHHHH! I can't… I can't believe it! I'm so happy! I… It's like a dream come true! I-"

"Ayaka?"

Her train of thought was stopped abruptly.

"...Huh? W-What is it?" Ayaka frantically responded.

"You squealed and… fell onto the floor."

"Huh?" Ayaka looked and saw that… she was actually on the floor. Her head also hurt a bit.

"I must've been so excited that I fell…" she mumbled.

"Excited about what?"

"U-Uh…" Ayaka realized she admitted to eavesdropping on the conversation. "N-Nothing! I… I wasn't… I didn-"

Aether laughed out loud. Ayaka's face turned red in embarrassment as she stood up.

"Ahahaha… Come on, we should finish our lunch. It's going to ge- mmph!"

Ayaka kissed Aether feverishly. Aether was caught on guard but quickly reciprocated. The kiss was warm and passionate as ever, maybe even more so than before, and they felt like they could melt at any momen-

"Hey! Ayaka! Paimon has been thin-"

The soon-to-be-married couple separated as soon as they heard Paimon's voice, hoping she wouldn't notice.

Unfortunately, Paimon saw their kiss, clear as day.

"Ewwww… Do it in private next time…" Paimon said before flying away, her face now green.

Ayaka buried her face in Aether's chest in embarrassment as Aether glared at Paimon.

"...Typical Paimon."
