The Break up

Johnny Zacchara stood in front of Lulu and Maxie's apartment building, he knew that things had been going rough with Lulu for awhile now. Johnny shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans in anticipation waiting for her, the only girl he had ever loved. Johnny had a sinking feeling in his chest that things were going to end, it was enough to make him cry. As he was lost in thought, Lulu Spencer walked out of the door from the apartment complex.

"Lulu looks beautiful as always, this is going to hurt." Johnny thought to himself as she walked towards him.

"It's over. Isn't it?" Johnny breathes out, tears threatening to fall.

"I'm sorry, you have no idea how sorry. I love you but, sometimes that isn't enough. I don't want to ever grow to resent you, things have been going sideways for awhile. Nobody will ever love me like you do but, I have to go. I have to do this. I'm going to California to find myself, I don't even know who I am anymore. I haven't known who I am ever since I left Shadybrooke. It's not that I don't love you because I do, I just don't love me." Lulu had to keep her tears at bay, crying would just make things worse.

"I understand, I love you." Was all Johnny could say, clearing his throat.

"I love you too, I'm sorry. I'm not saying that there isn't a chance for us later on, just not now." Lulu wanted to hug him but, that would make this harder than it was.

"Stop apologizing, you need to do what's best for you. I can't be mad at you for that, I'm going to miss you. You're keeping the door open, that gives me hope. Just remember that you have somebody out there who loves you." Johnny smiled kissing her forehead, before leaving because he couldn't hold on his emotions any longer. Once Johnny got into his car, tears dripped down his face and he gasped out sobs. Lulu stood there in the spot Johnny had just stood, she felt like she couldn't breathe.

"I shouldn't have broken up with you the way I did. I just... didn't know what to do." Lulu says out of the blue, as she and Johnny lay in the bed.

"You were just trying to do the right thing." Johnny held her hand, wondering why she was being so hard on herself.

"But I didn't do the right thing! I did the worst thing I could have possibly done." Lulu sighed, she was stressing herself out.

"We're only in our twenties Lulu, we aren't supposed to have everything figured out. You need to forgive yourself, I don't hold anything against you. Right now let's just enjoy the present. Alright?" Johnny put an arm around her shoulder.

"I guess you're right." Lulu nodded willing the anxiety setting on her chest to go away.

"Come here, I love you." Johnny pulled her closer, pressing a kiss to her head. Lulu settled into his chest, there was nowhere she'd rather be.

Ethan Lovett knocked on her door, sure Ethan felt bad about this but what could he say? She was the first woman he'd ever had a thing for. Abby Harver answers the door, slightly smiling at Ethan.

"Come in." Ethan shuts the door behind him as he walks into her apartment.

"We need to stop, I know the kid would be devastated if he found out we were sleeping together. I don't want to be responsible for his pain." Ethan had been going back and forth on this the last couple of weeks.

"I know. It isn't fair to Michael...I have to tell him." Abby had made up her mind, she was going to tell Michael he deserved to know the truth.

"You're right." Ethan agreed.

Carter and Serena walked into Jake's, their eyes landed on a man with brown slightly spiked hair, sipping a beer at a table.

"Can I help you?" Matt Hunter rolled his eyes, he didn't recognize the couple but from the weird vibes he got from them...he didn't want to know them.

"You're Matt...that friend of Lulu's." Carter recognized him from an old photographer Lulu had shown him.

"What about Lulu?" Matt had always tried to protect Lulu from creeps , and Carter smelled like a wife beater from a mile away.

"So you DO know her! Mind telling us where she is?" Serena gasped in excitement, clapping her hands together.

"Look, Goldilocks and Darth Vader I don't know where you come from, what you want but leave Lulu out of it." Matt held his hands up, even he was creeped out.

"I was with Lulu." Was all Carter said.

"Yeah, like she'd ever go for you- on second thought, maybe you were. You came to the wrong damn place if you think anyone's coughing up ANY information on Lulu. If she came back here, I'm sure she's staying a safe distance away from you." Matt finally stood up, striding towards Carter.

"I'm not afraid to fuck you up, pretty boy." Matt's words sliced through the air, Carter and Serena made their exit without saying anything.

"Who were they?" Maxie Jones asked, staring after them.

"Apparently Lulu's boyfriend, I don't know who the chick was. I think Lulu's in Port Charles...lord help her."
