"What the Hell was that?" McKay asked, incredulous.
"Jesse manifesting his psychic ability. We always knew he had the potential. It usually manifests in late teens, early twenties, but in times of stress, it can flare, mine did when I was seven. Something scared me and I accidentally set the house next door on fire. Fortunately, no one was living there. Jesse will probably be exhausted for a few days, sleep quite a bit and then be fine." Xander told him.
They all headed to the infirmary where Carson was informed of what Jesse had done. A scan showed that Jesse was fine, just bumps and bruises, nothing broken and a mild concussion. Carson was concerned, though, that being knocked unconscious, having a concussion and briefly manifesting his ability might put more stress on Jesse's recovery than it normally would have. Over the next couple of days, as Jesse slept and was occasionally awoken, Carson scanned him a couple more times. To everyone relief, he recovered quite well.
Just in time for Dawn, his honorary cousin/sister to arrive. She immediately began fussing over him, much to his annoyance. He finally told her. "I'm fine, Dawn. I'm a big boy, not a baby. Go do something else." She reluctantly agreed and went to find Elizabeth, since she needed to know where her work space and quarters were going to be. She was shown her assigned areas.
Things seem to settle down after that. No more demons or rifts were found before the end of their visit to Atlantis, much to everyone's relief. Xander was able to get the expedition into several more places they'd had difficulty with. Other research labs and manufacturing plants. Cordelia activated several devices that had frustrated the expedition members. Faith and Ronan had a good time and Dawn started her research.
And Jesse and Toran? Well they had a few more adventures. They found the Ancients version of classrooms and an art gallery or least what the Ancients considered art. Most of all, they had fun. It's that what friends do on their summer vacation?
