As a RWBY fan who liked the franchise to its deep core despite my big, BIG gripes I have with the show due to its writing and decisions Roosterteeth has made and make.
It's one of those franchises that I somehow like despite massive flaws, basically its one of my guilty pleasures, though not as good as other guilty pleasures I enjoy like.
(Btw, my favorite character is Penny Polendina, but guys knew that)
With that, let's begin...
Stars, in the dark space, trillions of them sparkle. Then there is the moon, shattered as something has destroyed the chunk of it, as it remains intact glowing by sunlight, shining down onto a planet, filled with masses of land and water.
Gazing at the world, it is night, in a middle of town. Street light lamps lit up the scene, along windows shined by room lights. Only a few civilians are here wandering around the streets of this large city.
Then someone stands out to the normal citizens, a bright red cloak, a hood with the same color covers the head and face. As the person walks on the path, revealed to be a young girl, with black hair with red tips, fair skin, wearing dark and small hints of red long sleeved blouse, skirt, stockings and combat shoes.
Notably her eyes shown to be silver, along the fact she is wearing headphones listening some music. She couldn't admire the city all around, just as she is looking, a shop nearby, it is opened compare to the others closed due to the late night time.
'From Dust Till Dawn', is the name. She enters in, and there a few people there, she walk through, and find what she needed... A magazine section, one that is titled: 'Weapons Magazine - 2120 Edition!'
Her eyes shined in excitement, "Wow!" She gleamed, as she quickly picked up the magazine, "This is the latest edition weapon magazine! You don't get this in Patch!" She muttered with joy as she read the page, ever single detail isn't missed.
Outside the town, at the alleyway, a group of men wearing dark suits with red hints such as their tie and sunglasses all holding their own weapon of sword and gun. Then the one stood out is holding a cane, and is wearing a white suit with long black pants and a black bowler hat. As he is smoking through his cigar, his dark-green eyes, his bright, long, orange hair, covering his right gazed at the very shop itself. This made him smile...
Inside the store, the girl continues reading while listening music, then the group of men has entered inside.
"Augh, finally! Do you have any idea how hard is to find a store opened this late?" The man in white suit exclaimed sarcastically.
Then one of the goons aims the pistol up and fires a shot, "Everyone get down!" The goon yells, this caused some fret amongst the civilians, the other men keep the eye on their hostages.
The shopkeeper trembled, "Please... Take the Lien!" He begged.
"Sh..." The white suit man hushed as he takes of his cigar, "Don't worry, we're not here for the money." He smiled before changing into his serious expression to his goons. "Grab the dust." Just that, the group of men took out large canisters, and insert to the tube dispensers as they are filled up with ease.
One of the goon aims his gun at the scared people, until he saw the red hooded girl still reading her magazine. He is in confusion as how did she not hear the gunshot?
He walks up to her, "Hey, hands up!" He demanded. No response, "I said Hands up!" He yelled again, no response again, this irritated him, "You got a death wish or something?!" He grabbed her shoulder, making her turn around as he sees her wearing headphones he gestures her to take them off which she did.
"Uh... Can I help you?" The girl asked.
"I said, put your hands up!" The goon ordered.
"...Are you robbing me?" She asked while tilting her head.
"...Yes!" The goon bewildered, retorted her question.
"Ohhhhhh..." She replied.
Back to the register area, the lead and others are waiting, until suddenly, a loud grunt and then the goon got launched, flying right past them crashing into a wall, as he falls unconscious.
He is surprised, as then another goon readies his gun, but gets knocked away by some... Rose Petals? This caused him to recoiled, be even more surprised, "A Semblance?!" He exclaimed.
The storm of rose petals crashes through the window, shattering it, then the petals disappear, revealing the girl herself as her cloaked is blown by the wind.
The leader looks at the window to see her, only to be annoyed, "What? A mere girl?!" He gawped. The very same girl stares at him with serious intent as she takes out something from her belt, a piece... That transforms into a massive scythe, that is twice as tall as her, as she spins it around, and letting it the blade end strike on the ground.
This did not impress him, "...Get her." He commanded the goons to rush outside, all of them aims their guns at her.
The girl immediately dodges the bullet fire, turning into a flurry of rose petals, instant speed as she transformed back, sinking the scythe blade on the ground again, leading her to swing herself down, turning into petals again.
Reaching the goons, she turns back, not before delivering a swing of her scythe that sliced down the goon's rifle, causing him to stagger back. Then other goon aims only for her to blocking the bullets with her scythe, and a powerful bang leading her scythe spins fast to sliced down the man's gun.
She turns to see another goon aiming and placed her scythe and aimed, revealing a gun barrel on the top, pressing the trigger, a powerful shot managed that knocked the gun straight out of his hand. He tries to pull out his sword, but gets kicked back.
Another tries to come from behind, but she twirl her weapon, as the heavy weapon recoiled him, leading an opening a blunt punch from the other end of her scythe. Then using it as a staff, she knocked out another goon, and sink the blade in the ground, providing her to duck and spin a sword swing, and used both her legs to knock the goon right in front of the man in the white coat who walked outside.
He looked at his downed henchman as he gives a nod, "I'm impressed Little Red." He admits. "You were worth every Lien. Truly, you were.." Then he drops his cigar and crushes it with his cane. "But right now, we're gonna have to part ways." As the cane reveals a cross grid sight aiming at her.
He fires a massive blast at her, but she manages to jump out of the way, and landed on the ground only to see the criminal, gone? She looked around, only to see him climbing up the ladder to the rooftop.
She hears police sirens are coming, and is about to go until she turns to see the people in the store and the shopkeeper, "Do you mind if I go after him?" She asked, as the people instantly nodded, so she heads off.
At the rooftop, the girl arrived to face the criminal who groaned at her arrival, "So persistent!" He scoffed. Just as she is about to go, a massive aircraft flies from above as the man laughs in evil joy by seeing it.
"End of the line Red!" He takes out a large red crystal, tossed it straight at her, which she widened and jumps back, only for him to aim and fire his cane gun at the crystal causing a large explosion that nearly engulfed the rooftop.
The smoke clears slightly as the aircraft flies above with the man now safety inside, but then his smile turns into a frown as the rest of the smoke clears.
The girl is saved by a woman with light-blonde hair, bright green and she wears thin ovular glasses, a cape, a white long-sleeved, pleated blouse, black high-waisted pencil skirt with bronze buttons and black fading into brown stockings and black boots.
The young girl is surprised to see who she is, along the man who runs to the woman piloting the ship, "We got a Huntress!" He yelled.
Then the woman pilot stood up, leading him to pilot the ship. She walks up to the side, as her clothes light up with orange color-like flame. The Huntress glares and then a burst of energy fired but she manages to block it.
The explosion suddenly swallow itself up, the Huntress manages to control it, as it turns into its own energy arrow redirecting back at the ship. The man see this and made an aerial lean as as soon it grazes the ship but managed to take a chunk out of its roof.
Just as the energy arrow comes back, the woman in flame summons a shockwave that disperse the arrow then the shards that came from the ship, glows orange as the metal has melted only to turn them into spikes. She launches the spikes, but the Huntress using a telekinetic force manages to stop the spikes from charging, and destroys it.
The young girl realizing she can help, she then aims her scythe now transformed rifle and fires her shots which cause the Huntress to slightly exclaimed, the woman easily blocks the shot with some kind of forcefield and in recitation creates several blazing circles around her two. The Huntress telekinetically pushes her and rolls herself out of the explosion's radius, just as she looks up the craft fly away already.
She looks slightly annoyed, but then, "Excuse me..." She turned to see the girl. "You're a Huntress..." She looks up with shiny eyes. "Can I have your autograph?"
Hours passed as the girl whose sitting in a chair with a table is in a interrogation room, as her happy expression has changed to sad as the Huntress paces around her, crossed and is holding a tablet. "I hope that you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, young lady. You put yourself and others in great danger." She stated.
"But, they started it!" The girl refuted.
Huntress glared at her, then closes her eyes with a sigh, "If it were up to me, you'd be sent home... With a pat on the back... " She opens her eyes to see her smiling. "...And a slap on the wrist." As she demonstrates with her riding crop, causing the girl to yelped. "But... there is someone here who would like to meet you."
The girl is confused by this, as a man enters in the room holding a plate of chocolate chip cookies. He appears to be wearing dark clothes with hints of green, silver hair and brown eyes covered by his glasses. "You must be Ruby Rose, correct?" He asked as he placed the plate at the table in front of the girl.
"Um... Yes?" The girl named Ruby respond.
"Hm..." The man gazed at her, noticing her notable features... " You... Have silver eyes."
Ruby grows super awkward by his statement. "Uh, um..." Just then she gazes at the plate of cookies, she slowly takes one and takes a bite. She widen her eyes in gleam and instantly devours the cookie, then the rest of them in seconds.
The Huntress then gives her tablet to the man who observes it then stares at the girl now finished a plate of cookies, "Tell me, Ruby Rose." He showed her the tablet showing footage perspective by civilians who are at the store watching her defeating the goons. "So, where did you learn to do this?"
Ruby quickly swallowed the food in exclaim, "Signal Acadmey!" She stated.
"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" The man wondered.
"No... But, one teacher in particular..." Ruby softly answered as she chuckled.
"Hm... What the one teacher you mentioned... He's the one other scythe-wielder of that skill before. A dusty, old crow..." He pondered aloud.
"Yeah, that's my uncle Qrow." Ruby nodded. "He was a teacher in Signal. That one day, I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing. And now, I'm all like, Hooowaaah! Witchaaaa!" She proceeds to make some karate-style poses and noises.
The man intrigued while the Huntress slightly shook her head. "As I've noticed." He smiled. "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?"
"Well... I want to be a Huntress." Ruby answered.
"To slay monsters?" He asked.
Ruby nodded rapidly, "And not just that, I want to help people!" She explained. "My parents always taught us to help others, so I thought, Hey, I might as well make a career out of it!" She chuckled. "...I mean the police are alright, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool, you know?"
"And how old are you to be ready?" He asked.
"I have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon!" Ruby replied. " You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a Huntress as well!"
"Yang Xiao Long?" The man assumed.
"Huh?" Ruby exclaimed. "You know?"
"Hm..." He nodded, "I could say, I am in charge of the Acadmey..." He warmly smiled.
Ruby widen her eyes in realization, "You're... Professor Ozpin. You're the headmaster at Beacon!" She beamed.
"Nice to meet you." Ozpin greeted. "Question Ruby, do you want to come to my school?"
"More than anything." Ruby nodded.
Ozpin glanced at the Huntress who shows her disapproval before he turns back to Ruby, "Well, what if I tell you your wish became true... Right now?" He asked.
Ruby is silent as she is wide-eyed and open-mouthed. But she only spoken one word out of her mouth... "...What?"
Still late night, at the police station, two individuals are waiting for someone. One is a tall tanned man with blond hair and blue eyes, he wears brown cargo shorts, black shoes, and a brown leather vest over a tan dress shirt. A second, a tall, fair-skinned young woman with lilac eyes and long, thick, wavy bright golden hair, and wears yellow, brown, and orange clothes.
Then the door is opened, Ruby Rose, along with Ozpin and the Huntress are out. The golden hair girl widen her eyes and smiles to see her.
"Yang? Dad?..." Ruby is surpised to see who they are.
"Ruby!" Yang jumped and give Ruby a big hug.
"Ugh! Yang, please!... Lemme go!" Ruby groaned from her hug. Her older sister Yang now lets her go.
"Sorry about that sis! Oh! By the way, you are on live Ruby..." Yang replied as she takes out a small device as it opens a screen, revealing live footage from one of the civilians at the store as Ruby kicks the butt out of these goons. "Live chat is going crazy as well." She shows the chat.
A lot of messages going haywire, from ranging 'that girl is badass!', 'look at her kicking these goons' butt!' 'at this young?!'and many more positive comments.
Ruby slightly groaned by this, Yang notices, "Oh, come on, they are praising you and your skills!" She tries to cheer her up.
Then her Dad came up and watch the footage notice the surroundings, "...Who smashed the window?" He asked.
"Ehehe, sorry Dad." Ruby winced.
He sighed, "Man, you sure got some Qrow's antics..." He muttered aloud, then he meets up to Ozpin, "Look Ozpin, I'm so sorry for some damages that Ruby cause, but she did managed to-" He tried to defend but Ozpin raised his finger which stopped him.
"No need to speak out, Taiyang." Ozpin stated. "I have made my decisions, that your dear Ruby Rose will be getting a invitation to Beacon."
"Yeah, but-" Taiyang paused to hear what Ozpin said, "I'm sorry... Invite to Beacon!?" He exclaimed.
"Oh... My... Goodness!" Yang nearly cheered and hugged Ruby, "Today, I got invite to Beacon and now my dear little sister is joining at the same day? This is the best day ever!" She joyed.
Ruby near cries out in pain by another crushing hug from Yang. "Yang... Please..." She begged.
Yang noticed and drops her down as Ruby nearly felt dizzy until Yang gives a strong pat on her back. "Sorry, Sis. I'm just excited you are going to Beacon two years early by the Headmaster himself." She replied.
Taiyang nodded, "Yeah, I am... Surprised you are considering it..." He said with slight suspicion. He turned to Ruby and Yang. "Ruby, Yang?"
"Hm?" Ruby and Yang turned to their Dad.
"How about you two wait outside while me and Ozpin have a small talk." Taiyang advised. The two girls nodded and walked out, as the adults remain.
"She has great potential." Ozpin stated. "Reminded me of a certain someone in your team, team STRQ."
Taiyang sighed and chuckled, "Yeah, but she's still a young child." He said.
"Eventually, children have to go out alone." Ozpin replied. "Like chicks and their nest."
"Still the same Oz..." Taiyang shook his head. "Though, I never imagined they would go to Beacon together... To see how far they'd grown up."
"And eventually they have plenty of time to grow." Ozpin smiled. "Your daughters will soon go a better path, and their... Mother will be proud."
"...I'll accept." Taiyang accepted. "But, promise you will protect them."
Ozpin slowly nods, "You have my word, dear friend." He assured. "Both of them will be alright..."
The next morning, upon the cliffside, there is a grave, and a gravestone labeled a message: 'Thus I Kindly Scatter' and the name: 'Summer Rose'.
Ruby is also at front of the grave, "Hey Mom..." She smiled, "Guess what? I got graduated to Beacon Acadmey by Headmaster Ozpin himself! Yep, strange... I got graduated despite 2 years apart... But right now, I got to work even harder than before, and yeah my grades aren't all great, expect handling weapons." She slightly giggled. "But soon, I'll become a Huntress just like you Mom, I'll fight to protect people from Grimm just like you did! Just you wait..." Then Ruby lets out a sigh but her smile is still contained.
Then Yang walks up to her, along showing her motorcycle from a small distance, "Well? How's the talk with Mom?" She asked with a warm smile.
Ruby stood up and turned to her older sister as she nodded, "It's going very well! I can't believe this is really happening..." She said.
"Don't worry, I'm with you, Sis!" Yang assured.
Ruby then hugs her as Yang gently patted her head, "Thanks Sis..." She replied. Yang looks at the Mom's grave, giving a wink of assurance. "Come on, we gotta go to see Beacon for the first time."
"Yay!" Ruby cheered as they walked off the area, returning home. "I wonder what it looks like..."
Yang explained. "Well, I was told that it's basically a floating giant school..." The chat continues but is fading away...

(IMO, I loved both songs, one is a good old nostalgia song, while the other has some Persona vibes which their music are always bangers)
