Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Halo. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I do not own Halo and such, 343, and a few others do.
A CSO-Class supercarrier was not a small warship, it was not something inconsequential. It was a floating fortress, a city hanging in the sky.
Among its crew was the shipmaster who stood next to the holographic projector.
"You have taken a risk in contacting me, Arbiter." The commander stated before softening. "What is it you demand of me? I have been with this vessel for several years… It is home, not Sanghelios… I have bled among this vessel; I have been home here." He stated.
"Is that not why you are Fleetmaster of the Fleet of Undying Vigilance?" He heard as he snorted to himself for now.
"The Immortal Vanquisher was not a flagship… It was a warship. I only took the role of its commander when the Brutes tried to kill us all." He stated, crossing his arms. "If it was so easy? There was too much for me to juggle." He stated.
"Perhaps, but you and I are friends… There was a lot I cannot do… And I have a new task for you." He stated.
Arbiter stated before he seemed to think of what was going on for now, he could only throw it off for now.
"Name it, Kaidon. I will carry it out." He stated.
"There is a lieutenant of Jul Mdama, one who still gathers allies for his master in a region of space I cannot deal with without massive losses." He stated to which the shipmaster paused.
"You want to send the largest warship the Swords of Sanghelios have into a region of space we have nothing there… And you want it to happen for now." He paused to think of what was going on for now as he seemed to look downwards now.
He had a lot more amusement for now, he had a lot more on the chaos he called a brain before now. He had a lot more on his brain either way, there was too much pain to try and figure out some sort of plan when it comes down to it.
He had a lot of issues already and he knew it. this warship was an important asset to the Swords, it was the only supercarrier they controlled and it took far too many resources to try and keep it staffed and crewed.
Still? It was the warship which he had commanded… Which he led into combat and he was not at all willing to deal with for the moment.
"I will handle it." The Fleetmaster stated before he seemed to sigh and then look downwards at the ground.
"I will handle the support for the fleet. We must maintain the resources we have…" Thel stated.
"This comes from the Kaidon risking the only supercarrier the Swords have by sending it and its support fleet out on a mercy mission." The Fleet Master stated.
The Fleet Master paused to consider his options. Arbiter still had the resources to rebuild their fleets, most of the fabrication units were under his command and he was no fool with their resources… However? This warship? The supercarrier was not so easily dealt with for now, he had brought it to the edge of destruction.
He would handle it but he feared them, he feared risking his command ship as he seemed to be too dismayed to deal with.
"Rtas will brief you on your task. I must return to my chambers and address the rest of the men… Be safe, Fleetmaster Vekan Nis 'Gonam." Thel stated before he paused and then left.
Vekan sighed, thinking of his options for now, thinking only about what he could manage. He turned to his bridge staff and hummed.
"Set course for the coordinates…." Vekan ordered with a cross of his arms as he scratched at his head.
Vekan knew what the next move was and he wasn't stupid enough to have acted upon it… He was just too stupid to quit. He had been a fleet master for a bit and the idea of trying to direct warships was hard, it had been something he loved and hated at the same time, too unwilling to let it all slip from his grasp as he knew what happened if he failed for now.
Yes, there was to be more done and he would let it all fall.
Author Notes
Phew. The first chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be delayed and will end up showing more and more of the Fleet and setting up the fleet going to Star Wars and dealing with the enemy. Until the 2-10 month weight in the 900-6500 word chapter, Lighting Wolf out!
