LUCY's POV

It was early morning; I had just arrived at the guild and was about to open the door when a voice called out my name. "Lucy~" the voice said. I immediately recognized the voice as Happy's. As I turned around, he hurriedly flew to me. That's when I noticed that Natsu wasn't there, which surprised me because they were always together.

I said, "Where's Natsu?" I should have thought before I asked that question; this was something I already knew.

Happy looked down at me with a smug smile, and I knew what he was going to say. Before I could tell him not to, he had already started. "Why? Are you in love with him?" he asked in a smug voice. I took my fist and lightly hit him on the head. "No!" I screamed, but secretly, I had a crush on Natsu for a while, and I had already accepted that I was in love with him. However, I had also accepted that I shouldn't tell that to Happy.

As I turned back towards the guild doors I could hear Happy complaining about how I was mean, but I knew he didn't mean it; after all, we had been doing that for a while now (that and he breaking into my apartment with Natsu almost every night).

He then stopped and opened the guild doors making loud noises, which were normal since this was Fairy Tail after all and noise and disasters are what we're known for, but that didn't matter to me because this was my home and I loved it just the way it was.

I started making my way to the bar, waving to guild mates, giving and receiving the usual hellos. I then started taking notice of the normal things happening in the guild. Natsu and Gray were fighting, Gray of course stripped and lost his shirt. Juvia went crazy and had a nosebleed from watching him. Erza had a strawberry cake while looking like nothing was happening. Lisanna was talking to Elfman with him yelling something about being manly. Gajeel just looked annoyed as to why he hadn't confessed yet, I will never know. Cana was drinking until she passed out, then started again. Happy was eating fish at the bar. Macao and Wakaba were drinking, while Wendy and Romeo talked with Carla talking to Pantherlily.

Yup, just a regular day in Fairy Tail. Soon, the clock would strike and a brawl would start. Though I usually say they're annoying, they can get pretty interesting. As soon as I reached the bar, Mira put down my usual drink - a chocolate milkshake with a little extra whipped cream, just how I like it.

The usual greeting I thought as I sat down. Mira got ready to tell me what I had missed while I was at my apartment. Apparently, Natsu had gotten a girlfriend. At that, I looked at her with the normal "really?" expression. I knew what she was trying to do; after all, she always tried this.

"Oh come on, Lucy!" She exclaimed with a disappointed expression on her face. "Why can't you two just get together? It's been years and I've tried everything; why can't you just let my ship sail?" As she slouched, I noticed that her white, long hair was touching her pink dress and that she had a tear in her eye.

"Wait what? It's almost the end of the month already. Shit, how did I not notice?" I ran over to the board as fast as possible with Happy following me. I told him that Team Natsu should take on another job and that he should tell the other members of the team, which are Natsu, Gray, Erza, Wendy, and Carla, of course.

He ran off as soon as I saw him glance at Carla. As I scanned the board, something caught my eye.

We need help with a monster and some help with dark guild.

Please come to xxxxxx and go to the house of Derek at the address given.

Pay:350,000 jewels.

It was perfect, and that was far more than enough to pay my rent. As I grabbed it and took it to Mira, a hand touched my shoulder. Though it was weird, I didn't flinch; I just smiled and slowly turned around to see the face of my best friend and secret crush, Natsu Dragneel, the Salamander and resident Fire Dragon of the guild.

As he did his usual grin, I noticed his onyx eyes were always filled with warmth and his lovely salmon hair, along with his white scaly scarf. As I continued staring at him, Mira of course did her usual shipping and said while handing me the job. "You sure you don't like him?"

My face turned as red as Erza's hair, and of course, with my luck, the others showed up. Happy started his usual "ohh's" and they all looked at each other with Gray smiling like he had just caught us doing the deed. Erza noticed this and smacked him on the head. I would have wondered if he was okay, but since I could read his expression, I just told myself he deserved it.

Natsu grabbed the request from my hand and we walked toward the guild doors with a yell and stomp of his normal excited attitude. I sweat dropped at that, but then smiled as he continued on with his usual excitement. With one small step, we were off to pay my rent.
