Our Middle
Chapter 42
(What about Rachel?) Brooke asked.
(She's gone Brooke. She's missing.)
(When the kids got up and went to her bedroom. She wasn't there.)
(Her car and stuff from her closet isn't there either. She clearly left because she wanted too.) Peyton explained.
(That makes no sense. Rachel was happy here. Her career doing better than ever.) Brooke replied.
(Is that what she told you? Look I know she's you're friend. You have always given her chances.)
(But maybe you're starting to see why none of us really trusted her.)
(We put up with her for you're sake. Lucas included.) Peyton revealed.
(Please tell people have been looking for her?) Brooke asked.
(She's an adult. Who left in her own. The police don't care about that.) Peyton replied.
(She's a lost cause Brooke. Maybe it's time you let her go and move on.) Peyton added in.
Brooke ran her hair through her hair. Letting out a frustrated sigh.
Peyton 's face broke out into a smile.
She reached out and hugged Brooke.
(You and Lucas are engaged.! Now this is a reason for joy and happiness.) Peyton stated matter of fact.
...
Later on that day
(We have a wedding to plan! This is the greatest news.)Haley proclaimed.
Engulfing Lucas into a hug.
Lucas smiled. Hugging her back. (I know. I've wanted this for so long.)
(The sooner her and I get married the better. But I guess the planning will be put on pause.) Lucas replied.
Haley stared up at him. (This Rachel drama is no reason for you and Brooke not to plan you're dream wedding. She's waited years to become Mrs. Lucas Scott.) Haley insisted.
(I'm meeting with you because I know you're probably the only other person who cares about Rachel. I'm worried Mouth.) Brooke confessed.
(We haven't been in communication. Since we broke up months ago.)
(But I never stopped loving her. I've been worried sick. I don't know what this means where she could be?)
(Calls. Texts. None of it goes through. The number was disconnected.)
(You know there is more to Rachel then what she puts out into the world.) Mouth replied.
Brooke nodded her head in agreement.
She knew that well. Rachel was alot more sensitive and wounded then she let on.
She craved love and attention so badly.
Brooke knew first hand what that was like.
