It's nighttime. Many hours have passed since Stheno and Euryale found Medusa's body. During this period, Stheno had been digging a hole in the ground. Initially, Euryale was incapable of moving, just sitting on the ground. After a while, she came to help, but still wouldn't say anything.

The reason it's taken them this long to dig the hole is because Stheno wanted to make sure there was room for both of them.

Gently, she grabs the stone form of Agathinus and places him in the hole. Now, comes Medusa.

As Stheno goes inside the cave, she turns around and looks at Euryale. "Wait here for me. Okay?" Heading inside, she wonders if she can stomach looking at Medusa; the state she's in.

When she finally reaches her, she makes sure to avoid directly looking at her torso and up. Gently, she grabs her body and lifts her from the ground.

As she exits the cave, Euryale briefly looks at her, only to turn away and cover her eyes.

When she finally reaches the hole, Stheno carefully places Medusa next to Agathinus. Having done this, she starts covering the hole with dirt.

She was so caught up with the burial, she didn't even notice Euryale come and help her. When she does, the two sisters briefly look at each other, before carrying on.

The sun is rising by the time they're finished. Stheno looks at it. With the trees dead and petrified, their leaves gone, most of the sunlight reaches them.

"We didn't put any coins." Euryale's voice is so quiet, Stheno wasn't even sure she spoke.

Turning around, she faces her sister. "What?"

"We forgot to put coins in their mouths."

"Euryale" Stheno's voice is dry. "We had no time for coins."

"I know. It's just…" too weak to continue speaking, Euryale just look down on the grave.

At a steady pace, Stheno slithers to her sister and hugs her. After a moment, Euryale hugs back.

"Stheno, what are we going to do?"

For the first time in years, Stheno doesn't know what to do. How to protect her sisters.

Her sister.

"You'll both endure."
