A few hours had passed since Akaashi's unexpected encounter with his comrade, Ryo. The meeting had left him both relieved and anxious, knowing that more interactions with people from the original Akaashi's past were inevitable. As the memories replayed in his mind, Akaashi found himself sighing in resignation. The man had left him with an additional burden before he left—a team meeting scheduled just two days from now.
Team meeting? Out of the blue, Akaashi mused inwardly, his expression a mixture of confusion and slight annoyance. The impending appointment with his mysterious "team" added another layer of complexity to his already dire situation. On top of the impending danger of meeting Mizuki, now he had to deal with his unfamiliar comrades as well. What a way to welcome me into this world, he thought with a touch of sarcasm.
He let out another sigh, his thoughts lingering on the unavoidable events awaiting him. He had barely any information about his teammates, making the upcoming meeting seem like an awkward and potentially uncomfortable affair. While Akaashi wasn't looking forward to it, he acknowledged that he had to attend. For now, he had to focus on unraveling the mysteries surrounding his existence in this new reality.
With limited resources at his disposal, Akaashi's best chances lay in the diary and the scrolls on the table. His eyes shifted to the array of scrolls, each containing foundational information about chakra, a fundamental force in this world. In a realm where danger lurked in every shadow, mastering chakra manipulation was not only essential but potentially life-saving. Despite his internal reluctance to remain a Shinobi, Akaashi recognized the practicality of having these skills ready at his disposal.
With his plan cemented in his mind, Akaashi began with the first step: Getting some food in his stomach because that damn Ryo spilled his breakfast all over the floor. Cooking from scratch seemed unappealing at the moment, so Akaashi opted for the simpler option: washing and eating the vegetables he had bought the day before. Seated at the table, he picked up the diary from one of the drawers, ready to extract every ounce of knowledge it could offer.
Akaashi knew he needed to approach the diary methodically, using his imagination to try and capture every tiny detail that might shed light on his situation. From names to events, even the seemingly mundane details like meals he had that day held potential clues relating to the original Akaashi. He also had an empty scroll and quill prepared, ready to write down any relevant information for further analysis.
With a determined exhale, he cracked open the diary's pages, embarking on a thorough journey through its contents. His eyes scanned each entry, capturing the essence of every word and its implications. He noted down names, dates, and events, assembling a mental puzzle from the scattered pieces of information. It was a tiring process, but he understood that the key to his understanding lay in these cryptic accounts.
After investing several hours into reading the diary cover to cover, Akaashi found himself rewarded with a treasure trove of valuable information. Each entry, though short, contained a wealth of insights, both minor and significant. He required two scrolls just to record all the information he extracted from the pages.
Although the diary was relatively small, it contained around 400 to 500 entries. Yet, within those brief records lay an intricate web of stories that only revealed themselves when explored as a whole.
Taking time to categorize the newfound knowledge, Akaashi's face lit up with satisfaction.
He now possessed a comprehensive summary of the original Akaashi's past two years, along with a reasonably detailed account of his entire life. However, he decided to focus solely on data linked to his "shinobi work," the details relevant to the meeting happening in two days.
Due to the time span since the original Akaashi's involvement in the shinobi world, the diary supplied a wealth of insights. Beginning with his days at the academy, Akaashi realized he'd been a notably obedient student, a contrast to how he was back in his old world. Although he followed orders, his academic performance was underwhelming. He did not excel in basic ninja training either, taking three additional years to graduate and attain genin status at the age of 16. Unfortunately, his first team, including Akaashi, failed the test given to them by their instructor, leaving them as genin without a mentor. Something that Akaashi would come to regret later on.
Four years after becoming a genin, he sought the status of Chunin. However, his initial attempts met with failure, being eliminated during the first round on the first try and reaching only the second round on the second attempt. The third attempt led to success, though with help acquired through improper means, marking another regrettable decision.
Promoted to Chunin, Akaashi joined a special village force composed of nine Chunin teams undertaking missions akin to regular squads. Named after various biomes, Akaashi's first team, named "Desert," comprised five Chunin, with the highest performer assuming leadership. Given his skills, Akaashi never even thought about contended for leadership.
For one year, Team Desert operated solely within the borders of the Land of Fire,
Taking on missions that are comparatively safer but still hold a degree of danger. Eventually, Akaashi was removed from the team due to his incompetence and unreliability, attributed to his lack of foundational guidance without a Jonin mentor. Now, Akaashi was without a job, but he never faltered. He resumed an intense training regime, even seeking and referring to academy scrolls in order to rebuild his shaky foundation. The diary documented the trials he endured throughout this training period.
His hard work eventually paid off; half a year later, the Third Hokage granted him a second chance. Placed in a different Chunin team called "Forest," Akaashi was made the leader. While this could have been a reason to celebrate, Akaashi saw it differently. His promotion was mainly due to experience, whereas his teammates were still young and inexperienced. The team's members were all under 16, which was the same amount of time it had taken Akaashi to become a genin. So, despite being more senior, he found himself overshadowed by his younger comrades in every aspect except experience.
Rising from his seat, Akaashi began stretching his limbs after hours of intense focus on extracting and organizing the diary's contents. He discerned that entries were not made on a daily basis, often weeks apart due to mission-related absences.
Although much information still remained unexplored, he felt satisfied with his progress. While he might not be entirely informed for the upcoming meeting, he would at least possess a partial grasp of what to expect.

Akaashi had grown tired of sitting around for so long, prompting him to decide on heading out for a jog to stretch his legs. He reached into his wardrobe, pulled on a jacket over his comfy pajamas, and set off for the door. Locking it behind him, he took a deep breath of the fresh, unpolluted air, feeling as if each inhalation was rejuvenating him.
Avoiding the risk of getting lost, he chose a clear path and began jogging. Starting from his centrally-located apartment, he headed south, relishing the energy the air seemed to grant him. As the sunset painted the village in peaceful hues, Akaashi couldn't help but appreciate the serene beauty of Konoha, even if it concealed the struggles faced by its people.
The towering Hokage Mountain dominated the view, showcasing the carved faces of the first four Hokage. In another world, this might be a prime tourist attraction. Still, he continued his jog through Konoha's streets, the only sound accompanying him being the rhythm of his own footsteps. However, his tranquil run took an unexpected turn when he felt the ground tremble and heard approaching rumbling.
Turning his head, Akaashi spotted a colossal heap of debris hurtling toward him, led by a man in a vibrant green jumpsuit with a distinctive bowl cut. Before he could react, the exuberant man was upon him, causing Akaashi to stumble and land unceremoniously on his back.
"Training at this hour, with such YYYYYouthfulness!" the green-clad individual declared rather loudly.
"M-Might Guy?!" Akaashi blurted out, his shock evident from the suddenness of the encounter.
Guy straightened up, giving Akaashi a hearty thumbs-up. "You got it! Long time no see, A-KAA-SHI."
'He fucking knows me?' Akaashi's mind raced as he paled, struggling to find words. His shock rendered him nearly speechless, prompting him to manage only a befuddled "Huh?" in response.
"By the way," Guy interjected for no apparent reason, "your name does sound a bit like Kakashi's, A-KAA-SHI."
