As the Eye of Magnus was being charged by my mentor using the strange language of the dragons, I could not help but express my doubts.
"…Lady Yang, do you really need to do this? I mean, there is no guarantee that they are even alive at this point"
The old woman, the legendary Dragonborn that was responsible for saving the world, the Archmage of Winterhold, the slayer of Alduin the World Eater, Vampire Slayer and killer of the Vampire Lord Harkon, The honorary member of the Greybeards, and many, many more titles that she is known by throughout her near 8 decades spent in Tamriel turned towards her disciple with a smirk.
"I have full confidence that they are alive and well. If nothing else, I still believe that my sister is strong enough to survive anything thrown at her"
"But you should no better than anyone not to hope too much, Dovahkiin"
Yang simply raised an eyebrow at her friend, Quaranir, as he appeared out of thin air like the other colleagues from the Psijic Order.
Three sorcerers from the Order moved past Yang and surrounded the Eye while chanting to assist Yang in her ritual while Yang and Quaranir spoke for possibly the last time.
"Don't give me that look Yang, you know that it is better to be cynical than hopeful"
"True, but as I said, I have full confidence in my friends and family"
"…..But what if time flows differently in your world compared to our own?"
Yang xiao-Long, the former huntress of Beacon, and the Dovahkiin of this world, fell silent as Quaranir's question unearthed the doubts and worries that she had buried in her heart for the past eighty years that she spent fulfilling her duty in this world while also tirelessly searching for a way back to her friends and family.
But her wrinkled face became neutral as she prepared the spell she invented just for this occasion.
"I will deal with it when I get there"
"….Very well. It was an honor to be your friend, Yang"
Yang simply smiled, but just as she was about to reply, a portal suddenly appeared behind her from which a few people arrived.
"Didn't think you could go without saying goodbye did you?"
Yang simply gave a watery smile as she struggled hard to contain her emotions at seeing all her old companions.
Seeing all of the people, Yang's disciple and her son in all but name, gave a respectful welcome to the people.
"Greetings, Grandmaster Delphine of the Blades, Master Isran of the Dawnguard, Lady Serana, Lady Frea"
Yang was truly happy to have one last chance to meet all her friends in this world who were still alive before leaving. However, Parthurnax could not make it here due to the fact that his arrival would be way too conspicuous. Besides, she had already said goodbye to him the day before so it was fine.
Unknowingly, more than three hours passed before the Sorcerers of the Psijic Order were done preparing the Eye of Magnus for the ritual during which the group of Old men and women finished their conversation and final goodbyes.
Once the preparations were done, Yang began the Special Thuum that she had prepared for this very moment.
WUNDUN ZU'U HOFKIIN
Immediately, Yang's body was enveloped by the near-infinite magika from the Eye of Magnus as the Sorcerers of the Psijic Order maintained control over the Eye so that it did not cause any unwanted effects on the surroundings.
Within a matter of seconds, Yang disappeared from Tamriel, leaving her friends to hope that she made it to her destination safely.
Naruto simply sighed as he stared at the grey-haired woman continue inspecting the seal drawn on the ground while making a few changes here and there.
Naruto really loved his aunt Blake, but he really hated that paranoid side of hers. Even after all these years since the fourth shinobi war, she was still just as particular about things that were related to finding a way to her home as when he first met her as a child with his mother.
Seriously, how Kushina Uzumaki, the most outspoken person in the village, had managed to befriend Blake Belladonna, the most infamous and reclusive shinobi of the Leaf, was anyone's guess. Something that was even more mysterious was how Kushina managed to convince Blake to be Naruto's Aunt.
But if there was one thing that was not a mystery, it was Blake's combat prowess. While her chakra capacity was nothing to write home about, her mastery and control over her limited Chakra was nothing to scoff at either. There was a reason she was listed as an S-rank Shinobi. Combined with her unique power that she called Aura and her unique brand of elemental clones she was a force to be reckoned with.
Naruto was suddenly brought out of his thoughts when he sensed danger and looked up, only to find that he was too late to dodge the finger that was about to flick him on his forehead.
Instantly, pain erupted as he shouted in agony.
"What the hell Oba-chan?"
"Don't space out like that. You are Hokage now, act like it"
Naruto simply pouted at being treated like a child despite being 28 years old.
"And don't pout like that. You are not a child anymore. Seriously, how does Hinata handle you?"
"Oi! That's uncalled for"
Blake simply smiled while turning around, making sure that Naruto could not see the tears that were about to spill from her eyes.
While it was true that there was nothing she would not do to get back to her friends and family in Remnant, she would also not deny that she would miss her friends and family from this world.
If she could take them with her, she would not hesitate one bit to do so, but she knew that they had responsibilities of their own not to mention their own families that they would have to leave behind if they wished to go with her.
"…..You did a good job Naruto"
Immediately, Naruto's dementor changed to a solemn one.
"…..Can you wait until tomorrow? I-I wanted to arrange a final reunion-"
Naruto stopped talking as he felt Blake ruffle his hair with a gentle smile just like she used to when he was bullied in the academy days by the Teme or the teachers.
"I will leave tomorrow evening. I too, wish to meet everyone for the final time. That said, don't tell anyone outside of our village about my departure"
"But why? Gaara would kill me if I did not tell him, not to mention that we are at peace now-"
"Naruto. Do not forget what I taught you. Fight for peace with words-"
"-But always prepare for war with swords"
"Good. You remember. As a Hokage, you should know the value of secrecy. Even though the Hidden Villages are at peace now, the grudges of the past cannot be forgotten so easily. You should know better than anyone else. I have no doubt that if the people in the other villages, especially those from your parent's generation, know that I am not in the village anymore, they will take this opportunity to attack Konoha to exact revenge on me by killing my loved ones"
"Let them come. I am not a weak man and neither are the rest of my friends or Konoha"
"But can you say the same about the children? What about Boruto and Himawari? Or Sarada?"
Naruto immediately fell silent at the reminder, acknowledging the fact that there were still some elements in the villages that would really go as far as to target children to exact revenge on the parents.
Blake simply shook her head and headed out of the hidden room in the Forest of Death along with a thoughtful Naruto.
That night, Naruto held a private banquet for Blake's departure to which many high-profile people attended. The Konoha 11, Sasuke Uchiha, Tsunade Senju, Kakashi Hatake, Might Guy, Jiraya, and many more attended the banquet. Blake spent her last day in Elemental Nations surrounded by her friends, mentors, and family in this world.
The very next day, Naruto found out that Blake had used the seal in the middle of the night without informing anyone to spare them the heartbreak of having to say goodbye to her.
On that day, Blake Belladonna left Elemental Nations for her true home.
Ruby was having a hard time breathing as she floated through this void she found herself in. The only reason she was still alive was because of her Aura which was slowly draining itself to preserve her life.
How did everything go so wrong?
When Johannes revealed his plan with the Arda Nova, Ruby was already moving to kill the bastard that she once called her boss.
But the director of Fenrir was not an easy man to defeat. And he already had a backup plan in place especially for her.
From the very beginning, it was a known fact in the Eastern branch that Ruby Rose was much more formidable and abnormally powerful even compared to the New-Type God Eaters. Many attributed this to her being the very first New-Type to have ever been created. But few knew the truth.
It was because of her Aura and Semblance that she was leagues more powerful than any other God Eater on the planet.
Johannes knew, that if his plan was to succeed, then he had to get rid of Ruby somehow but he did not wish to kill her as that would be a waste in his eyes.
So the mad genius came up with an idea. To create a machine that would turn Ruby's Aura against her and trap her in a forcefield that would target her aura specifically. Unfortunately, Johannes's understanding of Aura was not as complete as he believed and something strange occurred.
When Ruby was first trapped by Johannes in the machine he had created, the machine worked as intended and started siphoning her aura to maintain itself. The trouble started when Ruby used her semblance in an attempt to escape.
Her semblance interacted strangely with the device which worked by creating an energy barrier with Oracle energy.
The result was a rift in space through which Ruby was thrown into the same dimensional gap from which she was initially thrown to Earth. But this time, she was all alone in this void.
Just as she was about to lose consciousness, she felt something tugging at her from somewhere before her Aura broke and she lost the fight to keep her eyes open.
And thus, Ruby Rose left Earth to wake up in a familiar place.
"Hah, W-Why must you g-go this far?"
"…."
"Not even going to *cough* give me an answer?"
"….."
The speaker, the woman wearing an elaborate and royal-looking black dress smiled wryly at her opponent's cold look. Knowing that she would get no answer from the otherworldly woman.
This woman, who was once a powerful magus and a Great mother-class fairy, was now reduced to crawling on the ground, dragging her injured body to escape the wrath of her attacker. This was none other than Morgan Le Fay, The Witch of Britain, and the direct cause of Camelot's destruction.
And her attacker was equally well known. At least, in this timeline.
Her body was covered in pure white robes that looked just as royal as Morgan's. Her silver hair flowed in the wind while her ice-blue eyes glared at the Witch. Her face showed small signs of aging but her posture while holding her sword would say otherwise.
This was Weiss Schnee. The Ice-Cold Knight. The Magus of the elements and the closest confident of King Arthur. The last survivor of the Knights of the Round Table aside from the grieving Percival, missing Bedivere, and the maddened Lancelot.
As Morgan tried to use a teleportation spell to escape, Weiss immediately used Reinforcement to dash toward Morgan with her mystic code, Myrtenaster, and tried to take off her head. This action forced Morgan to stop her spell and dodge, but Weiss did not relent.
She immediately used an elemental spell to throw wind blades at the fairy, forcing the woman to dodge again. But this time, she was too slow to escape some of the blades and ended up getting sliced in many places.
"…That spell must have depleted even more of your Od than your previous attempt huh? Perfect"
"Finally she speaks. I thought that you became mute"
"I have nothing to say to you, witch"
Morgan's face contorted in rage but then it shifted to regret before once again shifting to bitterness.
"…You would not understand-"
"Understand what? Why you caused the downfall of Britain as a whole? Why you caused the death of your own sister? Your own children? Why you caused the destruction of Camelot? Why you killed my friends and peers?"
"I DID NOT MEAN TO!"
For a few seconds, there was only silence before Weiss's face turned truly cold while staring at Mordred's regretful face.
"….It does not matter anymore. I have spent three decades hunting you down. And now, I finally have the opportunity to take revenge"
Unfortunately for Weiss, just as she was about to kill Morgan Le Fay, the witch, in a last-ditch effort, used her magecraft to initiate a Rayshifting spell to try and transfer Weiss to a different time. However, she soon felt a foreign entity take control of her spell and change it from a Rayshift to a Kaleidoscope spell.
This entity was none other than the Counter-force.
To begin with, Weiss was an anomaly in this world. Something that the Counter-Force does not usually tolerate as anomalies can cause disruptions in its efforts to ensure mankind's survival. But its subtle methods of controlling events to cause Weiss's death in the past few decades proved useless. That is why it decided to take action directly in this way.
However, the Counter-Force could not directly kill Weiss due to the fact that it had no jurisdiction over her. Weiss came from a world that was not under the jurisdiction of the Counter-Force.
That is why, she decided to send this anomaly back to its home universe.
And so, Weiss Schnee returned home.
Four souls that were once torn from the world of Remnant have returned to when they are needed the most. Their Fates tangled with that of many others which would soon have unforeseen consequences.
But there is a fifth soul that is also returning after a long time away from home. But this one will not allow the chains of fate to control him.
After all, Guardians make their own Fate.
