Yellow Diamond's 'Workspace'

Sitting upon her massive yellow chair that enabled her to turn around with it, Yellow Diamond was resting her chin on her fist while using her other hand to hold up a holodata plate to review the ongoing process of all her colonies. Her expression had a certain air of boredom, mixed with tiredness; however another emotion was barely there but it was buried deep down to allow her to work efficiently. It was sadness, sadness for Pink Diamond and her passing, however Yellow Diamond had to persist for the good of the empire, unlike a certain Blue sister of hers; it was already more than a thousand cycles since then, and yet Yellow has been stuck taking over Blue's slack on her part in managing her own colonies.

Yellow Diamond has had to even require a certain Yellow Quartz of hers that has been her shining gem amongst all her other Quartz and Emeralds that try to amount to even an ounce to her favored Quartz. If she remembered right, and she does most of the time of all the identifications of every gem, (She was a ruler, and her station demanded she knew who worked for her,) Her favored Quartz was Quartz Facet 74ny4 cut v0n, said Quartz was her a creation of her own making; Yellow had made Facet 74ny4 cut v0n with the intent of having a right hand worker, to be her personal eyes and ears across the Diamond Empire and its many colonies.

A rare smile formed on Yellow Diamond's face as she leaned back and began reading the incoming reports of the very Gem she was thinking about, "Northern quadrant is stabilizing, most rebellions have been quelled, in the process of taking out the remaining pockets." Yellow read out aloud to herself with a satisfied smile, indeed, her personal creation of a Yellow Quartz was giving her an emotion that she wasn't sure what to put a pin on. It wasn't quite pride, but at the same time it was, it wasn't love, but at the same time it felt close; perhaps the feeling she was getting was close to the emotion that the primitive mothers in the human zoo have towards their children…no, that can't quite be it…

An incoming call brought Yellow Diamond out of her musings when a call was coming in towards her personal channel, a few thoughts ran through her mind of who it might be, but she soon found out when she scrolled through her dataslate to check who was pinging her; Yellow Diamond raised an eyebrow when she saw who was calling, it was her Favored Quartz of all callers. Seeing as it had to have been important for Facet 74ny4 cut v0n to contact her right now, Yellow Diamond allowed the call to connect through.

From a nearby holoprojector, a hexagon shaped screen was projected up into the air to show the caller. It was a half sized Yellow Quartz giving the diamond salute in respect to Yellow Diamond. "My diamond." the Favored Quartz spoke with a crisp tone, "I apologize for the impromptu call." The Quartz facet intoned while keeping her salute up.

"Hmm." Yellow Diamond let out a sound of thought, "Apologies granted." she spoke with an authoritative yet relaxed demeanor, "You calling now, must mean something must have come up that needs my express attention, I was afterall going through your reports just now."

The Favored Quartz relaxed her arms down but kept them clasped behind her behind, "Indeed my diamond! I've just got word the the planet of F78 in sector 9 from the Southern Quadrant has just broken into rebellion!" Facet 74ny4 cut v0n announced with a worried tone, causing Yellow diamond to glare at the screen. "My diamond! Apologies for the news, I just wanted to inform you to get express permission to reign in the sector before we have another Northern Quadrant on our hands!"

Yellow Diamond smirked a bit and waved over her favored Quartz' worries, "Fret not, I was directing my ire towards the mountain of work and documenting I'll be needing to do after this is handled." Yellow spoke out with amusement slipping out in her tone, prompting the Yellow Quartz to relax a bit. Yellow diamond stood up and allowed her two way call to show her Yellow Quartz her full might, "Facet 74ny4 cut v0n, I hereby give you full express permission to put out this new rebellion with full impunity, leave no gem unshattered!" she ordered out.

The Favored Quartz gave Yellow diamond one more salute, "By your orders, my Diamond!" The Yellow Quartz responded, before the call disconnected. Yellow Diamond sighed a breath of relief and satisfaction, it was good to have at least one real good competent gem amongst her subjects.

"Then again, I did make her to my specifications, I'd be a fool to think otherwise that'd she'd not be up to the task." Yellow Diamond prided herself, meanwhile however, in the far corner of the room where a pearl was working, Yellow Diamond's pearl to be exact. Yellow pearl was grumbling with hidden jealousy, but couldn't very well say anything given her station.

"What was that Pearl?" Yellow Diamond questioned with a curious tone as she turned to look at her personal pearl with an expression of interest, Yellow Pearl offered her Diamond an embarrassed look. "Nothing, my diamond!" She saluted her Diamond, "Just wishing Facet 74ny4 cut v0n the best of luck." she responded nervously, 'lucky clod! Why does she get all the attention, when I'm the one helping my Diamond here!?" Yellow pearl pouted in her mind.

Yellow Diamond smiled and took her leave, "Luck has nothing to do with my little Quartz's success, but the thought is welcome. Come pearl, I have work to do in Blue's office; I'll be picking up her slack after all." she ordered out, prompting Yellow Pearl to pick up her dataslate and rush after her. "Yes My Diamond!" she said as the two exited out of the room.

Planet F78 of Sector 9 in the Southern Quadrant

Citrine's Yellow Hand Ship

Facet 74ny4 cut v0n's personal quarters

'Lucky Pearl, you get to stay safe on homeworld.' grumbled Tanya, or to most of her gems under her command, Facet 74ny4 cut v0n. Tanya was almost amused that her name was simply made into leet speak, but that was neither here nor there at the moment. She had another sector and quadrant to quell, she just hoped it wouldn't take another century like the one she had just finished putting down

"No vacations, no retirement, no aging, no upward mobility of my rank." Citrine, aka Facet 74ny4 (Tanya) cut v0n, wrote in her personal journal in her very first life's language, it galled her that she was still able to keep her knowledge intact of her first life's language and memories for her third life. Tanya's second life was rife with conflict with at least an end in sight, but now her third life has no sign of ending in conflicts. She was only there for a little while to fight in the Rose Quartz rebellion, but her memories of that wasteful end of the rebellion reminded her that her standing in Gem society of the Great Diamond Authority only amounted to so much; so many gems on both sides were snuffed out by the remaining gems, so was only fortunate enough the Yellow Diamond saw fit to get her out before the call was made.

"A shame honestly." Tanya continued to write in her secret journal, "All the potential of every gem wasted on the lone fact that everyone can only do what they were made to do." Tanya wrote in her journal with a sour expression, it was also a shame that most of the loyalist side of the rebellion were caught in whatever the Diamond's did to Pink Diamond's first and last colony. However a nagging feeling always pecked away at the back of Tanya's mind of how too simple it was for a Diamond of all gems to be shattered, it was even more odd to Tanya that Homeworld was running low on resources after the failed colony of Pink Diamond and the end of Rose's rebellion.

Tanya leaned back in her hover chair and brought up her stylus that she used to write on her private dataslate, she began tapping her chin with the stylus in thought. Each time she thought back to Rose Quartz's rebellion, things kept not adding up. Pink Diamond should have been guarded by legions of soldiers at her beck and call, and yet, records state that Rose herself managed to get past all the guards and shatter Pink diamond; that doesn't even take into account that a diamond, a mineral in of itself that is known as the the hardest to shatter, was, well, shattered like a common gem.

Tanya shrugged to herself and put a pin on the continuing private investigation she had been doing over the last ten centuries since the end of Rose's rebellion. It was something to do on her own time, to quell the monotony of her nigh immortal life save for being shattered. She had been safe so far from being seen as useless or retaining a defect that'd mark her to be shattered like so many other gems. At first she was traumatized and worried for her own fate of her third life, but after so many centuries, Tanya had grown numb and became desensitized to the reality that she lives in such a society.

Pushing herself away from her desk and turning around on her chair, Tanya closed her dataslate up and hopped off to head out of her private quarters to check on the progress of the ongoing rebellion she had just arrived not too long ago. Marching herself off through her doorway that opened up upon scanning her gem's signature on her chest, Tanya continued heading her way towards the bridge while passing by several soldiers and workers under her command. 'Citrine' would give each one a passing glance of a stern look, causing each one to stiffened up and salute her before continuing as they were before she passed them by. Sometimes it felt good to be in charge, but at the same time Tanya despised it. She didn't earn it, 'Citrine' was made into the position.

As Tanya strode onto the bridge of her ship, she took a passing glance around to watch the rare few era 1 Nephrites and Peridots hard at work to pilot the ship and its many facilities along with its faculties. 'Citrine's' eyes glanced to her left and right to notice two Jasper Quartz were at door guard duty, they both caught Citrine staring at them and straightened up. "Ma'am!" They saluted, causing the rest of the crew to bring their attention momentarily to 'Citrine'. Tanya, who whilst was towered over by most Quartz, was no less authoritative than the station given her as she proceeded to give everyone a glare. "Return to your posts, no need to greet me." she ordered out as she marched her way in with her hands clasped behind her back; meanwhile the rest of the crew seemed to work harder in some form or manner by the mere presence of 'Citrine'.

Once Tanya reached her captain's chair, she let out an exhausted sigh. "Must you all be so tense." she hollered out with a peeved look, "I am not in a call with Yellow Diamond after all." she remarked, earning the desired effect as her crew relaxed a bit. "Good." 'Citrine said as she took a seat on her personal chair, "It wouldn't do to have everyone so uptight." she mused while she crossed her arms in front of her chest and crossed her legs to lounge a bit in her chair. "You'd think they were afraid I'd shatter them on a whim." Tanya internally mused while watching the view from orbit of the planet below in the process of a rebellion breaking out.

"Ever since Rose rebelled, every other colony has seen fit to think they can break off and rise up against the Diamond Empire." Tanya continued to muse internally, all the while clasping her hands in a steeple in front of her while resting her elbows on her chair's armrest, and idly tapped her foot up and down in the air to ease the ongoing boredom that invaded her mind. "Pearl!" 'Citrine' ordered out, prompting an orange pearl to walk up around Tanya's chair and present her own dataslate.

Orange Pearl smiled as she presented her current status review of the ongoing conflict, "As you requested, I have compiled all the conflicts ongoing around planet F78, they are ready for your perusal." the Pearl announced gladly as she smiled and handed her dataslate off to 'Citrine'.

"Thank you Pearl." 'Citrine' said with a clipped tone as she accepted the dataslate and began reviewing the status of the planet, Orange Pearl stepped back and clasped her hands behind her back and waited for her next order.

From Orange Pearl's point of view, she felt genuine pride and happiness that she was given the opportunity to be 'Citrine's' pearl, and it wasn't just any Citrine gem either. The Citrine that Orange Pearl was in servitude to was none other than Yellow Diamond's personal Citrine that she made personally; Thus, by her logic, Orange Pearl was working for the very extension of Yellow Diamond herself.

From other gems' point of view, they were rather relaxed in feeling they can be less tense under Yellow Diamond's Citrine, that is, away from the prying eyes of homeworld and any of its other more stricter gems of the caste system. Very rarely did Citrine ever shatter a gem under her command, save for the rare few times of mutiny; Most of the gems wished they could have it stay like this, far away from homeworld and serving under Citrine, cause at least under her, things didn't have to be so strict and tense.

Meanwhile with 'Citrine', Tanya was skimming through her Pearl's dataslate, and furrowed her brow as she began to connect a few things together in the reports. Orange Pearl noticed her 'owner's' displeasure, and deigned to question the reasoning of Citrine's furrowed brow of annoyance. "Did I not collate properly, my Citrine?" she questioned worryingly while leaning into her leader's view.

'Citrine stood up from her chair and handed the dataslate off to her pearl, "You did just fine, Pearl." she began to say as Tanya paced forward a bit, earning the attention of her crew as she clapped her hand together, "Ladies, I'm afraid this rebellion was sown a bit deeper, as this system shows evidence of outside influence, It seems we have another Northern quadrant situation on our hands after all." She grimaced out.

Tanya was not looking forward to this, it had the hallmarks of another bogged down rebellion that'd take her another century or two. Just what she hoped against, and she doubted Being X had anything to do with it, seeing as how she could sympathize with the rebellions…however…the Gem Empire was too large and powerful for her to opt to side against it. One of these days, she'd need to plan some form of fake death and escape this never ending monotony of her duty.
