Ch. 7: Breaking and Entering

I just want to thank you guys again, we have hit 200 views! Much more than I anticipated, so the support is very much appreciated.

This is the longest chapter so far as two Doofs meet and the kids plan a daring rescue!

Phineas-I can't believe we brought an evil scientist into a dimension, where there is already one taking the place over!

Baljeet-Technically we didn't bring him here, he brought us. Wasn't he coming here anyway

Isabella-Yeah, he only brought us over here because he wanted to show us his machine after he saw what ours did

Ferb-We aren't totally sure that our Doofenshmirtz fellow is even an evil scientist. For all we know, he is actually just a pharmacist in our dimension

Baljeet-A pharmacist who builds machines that take you into other dimensions?

Ferb shrugs

Second Dimension Buford-Is that a thing? He could actually be something different in your dimension?

Buford looked at the Fireside girls who all were stumped.

Phineas-This is going to get confusing really fast. We have two Bufords, and ideally, we will have two Isabellas, two Baljeets, two Ferbs, and two of me! How are we going to differentiate ourselves?

Isabella-We could have groups. All of us from our dimension can be group one, and everyone from this dimension can be group two.

Phineas-Buford, are you ok with being called Buford 2?

Buford 2-Whatever gets my friends out of jail man

Phineas-Right, how are we going to do that anyway?

Buford 2-Well, the place is pretty heavily locked down, when we were there, robots were circling Perry's cage. The difference this time is that they are gonna be guarding a much bigger cage.

Isabella-How did you guys get caught by these robots?

Buford 2-Earlier this summer, we created these ninja costumes that will prevent anyone from seeing you when they are turned on. They worked great, until we needed to get the robots away from the cage. Our problem is going to be getting the robots away from the cage, so we can get everybody out, and get out cleanly.

Phineas-How easy would it be to attack these robots?

Buford 2-They're pretty big and bulky, and they're armed, so they might take us down before we take them down.

Isabella-There's a lot of us, surely we've got numbers

Buford 2-There are hundreds of these robots, most of them are probably still with Doofenshmirtz at City Hall. When we were there the first time there were only two, but they may have buffed security especially since I got away.

Phineas-Look there's five of us from our dimension, there's you Buford, and there's the Fireside Girls. All put together and there's 12 of us! Even if they added a couple extra robots, we've got a lot of power, and the biggest weapon, the element of surprise.

Buford 1-Speaking of weapons, should we get some to take down these robots?

Buford 2-Couldn't hurt

Phineas-Earlier this summer, in our dimension we made baseball gloves that work like cannons. They shoot baseballs faster than they get pitched in the majors

Buford 2-I like the sound of that

Authors note: The two Doofs won't have the conversation, but similar to how the kids are doing it, the Doof from the first dimension will be Doof 1 and the Doof from the second will be Doof 2.

First-dimension Doofenshmirtz wandered through the streets of downtown Danville until he spotted a questionable sight at Danville's City Hall building. It was as if the building was swarmed by bees! After closing the gap between him and the building he realized that they weren't bees, they were robots! Dozens of robots surrounded City Hall, confusing the Drusselstinian man as he got closer to the building.

Doofenshmirtz thought that the robots were there to protect Roger, and that was just something different in this dimension compared to his home. Doof walked up the steps to the hall building and knocked on the door. The door opened as Heinz spotted a familiar red-headed woman.

Melanie-Oh, sorry sir. I didn't know you were outside.

Doof-Oh, um well uh, thank you.

Doofenshmirtz thought to himself that that was awkward but once again didn't think much of it being in a different dimension.

Heinz realized that the layout of the town hall was the same as in his Danville, so he headed up the stairs and barged into Roger's office. Or what he was expecting to be Roger's office at least.

Doof-Roger, why is there a swarm of ro-

He didn't finish that sentence as he realized that it wasn't his younger brother sitting at Roger's desk. It was him! Well not him, but his other-dimensional doppelganger!

Doof 1-You're me?!

Doof 2-Who are you?

Doof 1-I'm you from another dimension!

Doof 2-Another dimension? What does that mean?

Doof 1-Well in my dimension, I am trying to take over the Tri-State area, which it seems you already have done. But I have a nemesis who always thwarts my schemes and I never got to do it. So I built the other-dimensionator, which did exactly as the name said; took me to a new dimension and this place is totally different from my Danville.

Doof 2-So you're me from another dimension?

Doof 1-Yeah! Do you think that means we are exactly alike?

Doof 2 stood up from his desk and stared at the clone looking across the desk.

Doof 2-If we were exactly alike, you would've beaten your nemesis and taken over the Tri-State area like me

Doof 1-Well I bet my nemesis is much better a fighter than yours!

Doof 2-Is your nemesis a teal color?

Doof 1-Yes

Doof 2-Does your nemesis have a beaver tail?

Doof 1-Yes

Doof 2-Is your nemesis a semi-aquatic mammal?

Doof 1-Yes

Doof 2-Do you see what I'm getting at?

Doof 1-No

Doof 2 slaps his forehead with his palm.

Doof 2-How would I know so much about your nemesis if they weren't the same?! Normbots, bring in Perry the Platypus!

Doof 1 turns around to see an enclosed metal box with a hole big enough to see Perry the Platypus but also was barred off so he couldn't escape.

Doof 1-How did you capture him?

Doof 2-Simple, I locked him in a cage, then sent my normbots to cuff him and retrieve his hat. When I got the hat I took his tools out and he couldn't do anything since he was cuffed! Then I just took over city hall with my robot army!

Doof 1-I did try a robot army once, I hid the self-destruct buttons on their feet so no one would push them, and yeah. I bet you can imagine how that ended up. Anyways, we should join forces! With your robot army and my scientific genius, we can take over more than just the Tri-State area, but the whole world.

Doof 2-You know I could use some human help. These robots are great and all, but sometimes, I would rather have another man with me. I actually tried to do that already with a couple of kids but they wouldn't help me so I had to detain them.

Doof 1-Detain them? So you mean you have children that are prisoners?

Doof 2-Yeah, say I could use someone to go check in with them. But I can't leave the capitol building now can I? Do you think you could do that for me?

Doof 1-Oh sure, I got your back man.

Candace walked over to the corner of their little jail cell to sit with Phineas and talk to her brother.

Candace-How you holding up?

Most of the other kids were asleep, only Baljeet was still awake and he was laying down trying to sleep himself.

Phineas-I'm ok, I've just got a lot on my mind.

Candace-Like what?

Phineas looked up to make sure his friends were still asleep.

Phineas-Well, if you didn't know, I like Isabella; more than just a friend. I feel like she's always there for me and I don't really know what I'd do without her sometimes. But ever since I got back from going with Doofenshmirtz, I feel like she's been ignoring me. I have a feeling she found out, and doesn't feel the same so she's just ignoring me.

Candace-Phineas, while you were gone, Isabella and I shared a cry because we were worried about you. I know Isabella isn't ignoring you, she is probably just trying to give you space to try to clear your mind. Isabella would be the last person to ignore you.

Phineas-Nobody told her while I was gone?

Candace-No Phineas, no one did.

Phineas-Oh that's a relief.

Candace-You should try to relax, you've had a stressful afternoon, I know that our situation isn't ideal; but I'm sure Buford is getting help.

Phineas-I'll try to go to sleep for a bit, thanks for listening, Candace.

Candace placed a kiss on her brothers forehead

Candace-You're welcome. Oh, and Phineas?

Phineas-Yeah?

Candace-I think that when all of this is over, you should tell Isabella how you feel.

Phineas-I don't know if I can

Candace-Just try, ok?

Phineas-I'll try

Phineas 1-And that's twelve!

Phineas and Ferb remembered the design of the baseball launchers from creating them originally in their dimension, so after the boys made a couple, the other kids pitched in and within 20 minutes they had 12 baseball launchers.

Phineas-Alright, so here's what I've got. We have to spread around the room so we aren't cornered by the bots. Each launcher comes with five baseballs in it before you need to reload. To make things easier. All you have to do is pick up a baseball off the ground and put it back into the baseball slot. If we spread around the room, that means baseballs should reach all parts of the room and nobody will be left empty handed on balls.

Baljeet-If we are going to be hitting these robots with balls, how are they going to get to us when we need to reload?

Phineas-Buford 2 said they are heavily armored, and depending on what was used to build the robots, the balls could ricochet off of them. If not, we may have to share the balls we have left with us.

Gretchen-We can be runners! We can run around and get you guys baseballs after we run out.

Phineas-That sounds nice, but could be risky.

Isabella-If these girls are anything like mine back in our Danville, they can handle it.

Buford 2-This plan sounds great and all, but how are we going to get up there? I didn't mention that Doof's apartment is like 20 stories high!

Phineas-I've been to the building before. Candace took me one time when she needed to drop something off for Vanessa while we were in the area. We can just go in the building and enter through the apartment door.

Buford 2-Oh, yeah we didn't do that. We scaled the building and got in through the balcony.

Baljeet-How are we going to get everybody out of the jail cell or whatever they are locked in?

Phineas-I hadn't even thought about that, I was too worried about the robots.

Ferb-It's just a big cage, right? Can we break the bars with anything?

Buford 2-It's strong metal, hard to bend or brake

Phineas-We could try to melt the metal. But, that would be dangerous, since it would get really hot and they have to get around it.

Isabella-Is there a padlock on the cell? Could we open it if we had the right key?

Buford 2-Yeah sure you could, but we don't have the right key.

Phineas-We could make a universal key real-quick. It sounds illegal though, so we just use it once and then get rid of it.

Everybody agreed that a universal key sounded very illegal and that using it only once was best for everybody.

Five long minutes later, Phineas handed Buford 2 the key.

Phineas-Here Buford, they're your friends, you can open the cage when we get to it.

Buford 2-Thanks Dinner Bell, but how does it work? The damn things flat!

Phineas-The key morphs to the lock that it goes into. So all you have to do is just push the key in the lock and open it.

Buford 1-Alright, let's get this show on the road.

And with that the big group of kids headed off to Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated to save their friends.
